1  Other / Off-topic / Happy Deepawali the festival of lights on: November 07, 2018, 06:44:01 AM
Deepawali greetings to all members on the forum.  Today is the biggest festival of Hindus.  Festival of lights; sweets; joy; greetings; cheers.
People start preparations around one month in advance.  The home; shop ; factory ; office is completely cleansed.  White washing; paints done to cleanse the building.   This cleansing is in addtion to routine cleansing of the premises.
On this day ; people distribute sweets and other gifts.   In the night lighting is done by lighting candles ; electric bulbs; and Deeps (deeps meaning the earthern pots filled will oil. Deepawali is named after the word deep, so meaning the festival of lights)
All celebrate it with much happiness.  Children ; youngsters are specially very happy this day due to crackers.  Because crackers give a lot of joy to young people.
It is believed that Lord Ram along with his wife Maa Sita  brother Laxman returned to their home after spending 14 years in forests.  Lord Ram was a prince of Ayodhya in India. To welcome the Lord; lighting was done; sweets were distributed.  And since then people of India are celebrating this festival with the same happiness.

So many many greetings to all.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Risk of scam ICOs is more during Bull phase on: August 27, 2018, 04:38:23 PM
We have seen few scam ICOs.  I think during Bull phase when prices are rising every day; people are very much enthusiastic to invest in Alt coins by directly buying from the market and from the ICOs.  More and  more people then want to buy more and more coins because the price are rising day to day.
So as per my opinion the chances of cheating by scam ICOs are more while there is bull phase and the rising market.  So in a greed to become rich overnight, people sometimes buy such coins.  Even inexperienced people with greed; enter the market at those times; they become the easy target of such scams.
And during bear phase when the markets are falling; even good ICOs are finding it difficult to attract sufficient investors; so the chances of scam ICOs are low.
But I think we shall always be alert before investing; but more alert during rising market.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Positive thinkers of 2011 can be our motivators on: August 21, 2018, 06:00:30 AM

Just searching the forum; I found interesting thread of 2011 discussing bitcoin future.  I found many of them were very much positive about acceptability ; price rise etc.  One member forecasting bitcoin crossing $9000 when the price was not even in double digit.

I am just sharing it with the intention that though some target may seem to unreachable currently but it is achieved in few years.  And if it happened in the past ; there are no reasons why it will not happen again.

It may be helpful in killing negative thoughts.  And will add to the positive thinkers.

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin is independent? or depends on fiat currency on: August 18, 2018, 08:22:05 AM
Bitcoin was created to provide independence from Government control to the users.  But I think it is not so independent.

It depends on fiat currency especially the Dollar for it's valuation.

My question is ; we are measuring it's value in dollars.  So is not it true that Bitcoin is dependent on fiat currency for it's existence?

Please share whatever views you are having.

Kindly correct me if I am wrong.

8  Economy / Economics / Art Market prefers payment in bitcoin on: August 08, 2018, 03:31:30 AM
Acceptance of bitcoin is rising day by day.  Latest example is the $60 billion Art market.  The art market now prefers receipt of their payments via bitcoin.  Downfall of the crypto market could not affect it.  Though the crypto market experienced fall in prices but still they (art market) preferred receipt of their payment via bitcoin.

The main cause of their preference is because of it's P2P nature of payment without having any intervention of intermediaries.

It is an example of growing popularity of bitcoin among the business community.

9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Future of crypto currency will be bright in India on: July 23, 2018, 09:18:49 AM
Previously Banks in India working under the rules framed by the central bank i.e. Reserve Bank of India ; the banks were instructed not to allow their customers debit their accounts maintained with the banks for purchase of crypto currency.

Against this order; one suit was filed in the Supreme Court of India.  During one hearing the Reserve Bank of India admitted that the instructions were given to check illegal transactions in the country.

Now Bank has admitted that regulation of crypto currency is their necessity.  This admission indicates that transactions will not be restricted but will be regulated.  So again the business will start.  Though final hearing is in September this year.

I am very much positive that Central Government will definitely allow the transactions to take place but definitely will like to impose certain rules and regulations to stop money laundering; terror funding etc. Prime Minister Mr Modi is very much in favour of digitalization of money in India; so future of crypto in India seems very bright.

11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Investment strategy on: July 21, 2018, 11:20:26 AM
Bitcoin price seems to be taking u turn.  Few months back it fell from the heights of the sky, if not to the depth of the sea; but certainly to the levels of earth.  Many investors burnt their fingures in this dive.  Many new investors have to face big loses which they hope to recover when price rises.

I have little experience in stocks markets and the circumstances here in bitcoin / crypto currency market are not much different.  So I share my views here.  May be some members having better opinions / views / experience; are welcome to share with all'

Now after long recession in the market; bitcoin has started looking upwards.  In my opinion this is the time when one should enter in the market.  If you are interested in medium term investment; you should start now.  Because once the price rise to higher levels coins will be costing you higher.

First of all this market is full of speculations.  So you may gain big profits but at the same times be ready for loss.  Check your surplus funds which if lost does not affect your daily life.  And you are able to meet your daily expenses without burden.

Never use borrowed funds ; because time of return is not fixed.  You may gain in 15 day and it may take months to gain that much amount.  Never pledge / sell your home at any cost; because home is must to live in but without bitcoin we can survive.  I am noting this point here because on many occassions I read few posts asking "Shall I sell my home to invest in bitcoin".

Now suppose you are capable to buy 10 bitcoins with your surplus funds.  You buy it suppose @ $7 k means you spent $70k for buying plus charges.  Now you just keep pateince.  Because it seems start of bull run; just keep watching.

Suppose the prices crosses & 14k in the month of December this year.  The best action as per my opinion will be you just sell 5 btc @ 14k and cover your entire investment.

Now the remaining bitcoins in your wallet are just free for you.  You are free to take any type of risk with these bitcoins.

One more point need to be noted is ; never put all the eggs in one basket; invest prudently in diversified portfolios.

Your comments welcome;  All the best wishes to all the friends on bitcoin forum  Grin.  Pardon if I am wrong

Edit
sorry I wrote that remaining five bitcoins are free to you.  these are not free ; you earned it after taking risk ; with intelligence and patience.  mistake corrected  Smiley
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / North vs South opinions about bitcoin on: July 19, 2018, 03:54:55 PM
Amidst positive news about bitcoin; bull phase seemingly capturing the market we are getting all the positive news about the market especially bitcoin. Most of the people knowing something about bitcoin; are of the view that now the upwards journey has started.
In an interview to CNBC , Barry Silbert, Digital Currency Group claims that the bears have run out that means bulls are in to take the driving seat. Also he claims that several institutional investors are about to jump into the market to run a race with crypto bulls.  I am also of the  same opinion.
Please read in details about his interview:
https://www.ccn.com/bitcoin-price-has-finally-bottomed-digital-currency-group-founder-barry-silbert/

But I am sorry; presenting here extremely opposite views of another person
Fed Chair criticising cryptocurrecy stated that crypto is not a real currency.  It has no intrinsic value.
Jerome Powell,  said on Capitol Hill that “relatively unsophisticated investors see the asset go up in price, and they think: ‘This is great; I’ll buy this.’ In fact, there is no promise of that.”

“There are investor and consumer protection issues as well,” continued Powell, whose comments were recorded by CNBC, adding that cryptocurrencies should not be considered real currencies since they have no intrinsic value.

This statement just opposite to the first one; seems to be just clash of interest.  Is not it?

13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Cheers; and congratulations to all bitcoin traders on: July 18, 2018, 03:52:03 AM
Good news bitcoin  and other crypto coins taking a big u turn . In just 30 minutes a big price hike. bitcoin and other major coins having a  big jump added $20 billion to market capitalization of crypto market.  About 10% increase.  The market was suffering from all the negativeness and hence was so down.  A restart kick for upwards journey was awaited since months. And 17th July witnessed such a big kick for start of movement.

This is all amidst the positive news coming since last few weeks.
My opinion is this is the good time to enter the market and buy bitcoin or other major leading coins with the long term investment strategy.  If this momentum sustains and continues for few weeks today's surge in prices will  prove to be a strong base for big big rise in the value.  This one stroke dated 17th July may prove to be a long glorified future story to be noted in the bitcoin history.

Your views for bitcoin price movement in the months to follow?
14  Economy / Economics / Will increased usage of crypto / bitcoin convert world to small village? on: July 16, 2018, 02:31:59 AM
Bitcointalk is a beautiful thread where people becoming it's members from different cultures ; different nations; different parts of the world.
I am of the opinion that Bitcoin has initiated the trend in which this big big world is converting itself to small loving family.  A man from farthest parts of Africa doing business with a man from Europe / Asia.  So it seems as the world is now small market.  Is not it?
People are not only discussing about economic affairs but also others like political.
I see people are helping others too when they are in need.  One example I could see is the latest event happenning in Venezuela

https://www.ccn.com/venezuelan-launches-adopt-a-family-movement-after-buying-400-kg-of-food-with-crypto/

Here one  Redditor recently decided to use donations received in NANO to buy over 400 kg of food for his friends and family in the country, which is facing one of the deepest economic recessions yet. He’s now launching a movement to support others.

His efforts have started showing results.

My question is whether New era of co operation among people has started.?
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / False allegation of Bitcoin scam in India on: July 06, 2018, 03:02:59 AM
Next general elections are due in India in the year 2019.  In view of taking advantage oldest opposition political party Congress has alleged a bitcoin scam in Gujrat (province in India).  This all they are doing is to come back in power in next general elections.

I do not think that these allegations will have any major effect on the price of crypto. Because while ruling period congess itself was doing big scams so people do not trust them.  And also people believe that current Prime Minister is very much honest.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Zebpay Disables Rupee transactions on: July 04, 2018, 11:53:50 AM
Following the Reserve Bank of India (Indian central bank) instructions to the Banks operating in India prohibiting any transaction relating to crypto currency.  The Indian Banks  banned it's customer's accounts for transactions for sale purchase of crypto.
Zebpay is crypto provider exchange in India which was facilitating Indian citizens to sell or buy crypto.  Now it has announced no further transactions in rupee.
Under present circumstances; the future of crypto market in India seems dim.
But Govt of India is very much supportive to digital transaction market.  What is your opinion; whether you see any chance in near future when Govt will remove such restrictions?
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Supreme court of India refuse to grant temporary stay against crypto ban on: July 03, 2018, 04:14:16 PM
An appeal against Reserve Bank of India's orders banning crypto use was filed by Internet and Mobile Association of India in Supreme Court of India.  But today the court refuses to grant temporary stay against the banning orders.  Several crypto exchanges are also said to be the members of above mentioned association.  The reactions from crpto exchanges indicates that they have already found some alternate ways to deal with crypto in India.

https://coingape.com/indian-supreme-courts-refusal-to-lift-rbi-ban/?utm_source=notification&utm_medium=push-notification

What shall be the consequences if the crypto use is not legalized in India.  Whether the loser will be Indian economy or the users only?
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Thailand Legalize Crypto currency on: July 02, 2018, 08:29:38 AM
While there are several nations which are passing laws against crypto world.  Thailand has entered the list of the nations which have legalized crypto currency.  Thailand is mainly dependent on tourism industry.  So I think it is wise decision on t he part of a country where major source of income is from tourism.  So it will attract more tourists to this country.
It will benefit a lot to the country and is healthy signal for the health of Bitcoin family.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Shall not we swim opposite to the current of the river to become winner. on: June 26, 2018, 04:34:13 PM
My experience is that people are buying when the market is bullish.  When the prices are rising day to day basis.  People buy even at very high rates and do not fear buying at high prices.  Under those conditions ; many holders which are long term investors and have bought the coins at cheap rates in the times when the market was low say one year back (e.g.).  They earn huge profits by selling their holdings at higher prices.
Their profits earning news spreads here and there and hearing unimaginable profits earned by old investors; many new members enter the markets at that time.
Presently the market is running under the bear phase.  The prices are falling.  Market is not finding buyers.   In each and every corner of the market there negative are sentiments.  Many members predicting the prices to fall to unimaginable low levels, which I think will never prove to be true.
Now my opinion is ; shall not we think over the issue of swimming opposite to the current of the river.  i.e. when the prices are falling and prices are  very low; why we shall not buy under current prices?
Entrants / investors at current prices will definitely be the gainers in a year or two.  I am sure;  Are you too?  Grin
20  Economy / Speculation / Bulls are back on: May 05, 2018, 04:44:51 PM
For the last few weeks; price of bitcoin is on an rise again.  It is almost near to touch $10k.  Festival mood appears in the market.  Everybody is happy: celebrating mood. Grin
There was one time when btc was below 7k and most of the people were hesitating buying it.  Now there is a  mood of positivity in all the directions.  We will be hearing all the good news from each and every corner.
But in this festive season please never panic.  If you want to buy please invest only that part of your money the loss of which you can afford without much pain.
In my opinion; good strategy to invest is that the investor while investing shall have one stop loss limit in his mind.  It means suppose one person buys one btc @ 10k but unfortunately the reverse trend appears; at that time without allowing the loss to increase with the continuous fall in the market; suppose i fix one limit to sell back @9k in case the downfall starts.  So I will suffer loss of 1 k what ever may be the downfall i.e. suppose the markets falls around 6k I will be saved from further losses.
Again I can buy with the trend change with positive market trend.
It is my opinion; you may differ.
All the good wishes to bitcoin holders  Grin
