Quotes from a galaxy far, far away... We are back again with another great raffle to motivate the fellow members who have been contributing towards this board. As a token of appreciation to all the Indian forum members who are making this board a delightful place to stay even during the adverse Bitcoin conditions prevailing in India, we will continue running these raffles till the balance lasts. As of today, the price of 1 BTC is around $27,000 ~ ₹22,30,000 per bitcoin and the winner would be receiving ₹2,200. About the Game :1. This is a pretty simple and quite interesting game, where there would be 16 spots from 0-9 and a-f. Each person should pick one character and post in the reply of this topic along with their bitcoin address. 2. Once all the 16 spots are filled, I will choose one single future block to be mined. For instance person X has chosen '8' as their spot and I have chosen block #782,997. Here the hash of the block #782,997 is 00000000000000000004cade9ff90e7ec9c31e4bf0475a1793387a5a06d9ea88 which determines that 8 is the winning character. 3. The person who has chosen the correct character wins the prize amount of 0.001 BTC (Please note that 0.001 BTC is no more cheaper but in terms of our economy it costs around ₹2,300) As per rules, they are mostly the same as followed in the previous raffle topics Rules :1. Hey everyone, India Today is a popular weekly English magazine which is available for sale all over India. This week they have published a 11 page article titled "CRYPTO MANIA" which is focused on Bitcoin and crypto in general and it has been mentioned in their cover as well  In [REFERENCE] Magazines & Newspapers with Bitcoin Articles (Pre 2009 - 2019) thread, I posted an interest check for Group Buy and there has been some descent interest for that. The Price of each magazine is incredibly low at $1.5 per book. Please note that, though the price of each book is $1.1-1.2, withdrawal charges to fiat is included, hence I'm charging $1.5. As of now, there were interest for 13 books from 3 members which I will be able to get them from the local shop. But if there is interest for 50-100 books, I can try to contact India Today office for a bulk order.
Shipping :
It would be easier if I'm able to ship all the US books to a trusted person in US like minerjones or Mopar for reshipment and the EU books to a trusted person located in EU. For example, if we are able to reach 50 books for US and 50 for EU, it will cost just a single payment of ~$30 or so to ship from my country to US and another $30 for EU. Though final shipment prices are subject to change. With this, each person can pay just an additional cost of $30/50 books ~ $0.6 shipping fee per book and then they can discuss further shipment with the reshipper in your country. No one likes to pay $25 shipping just for $5-$10 worth of books If you are able to pay an additional of $1-$2 per order, I will be able to buy some envelopes for safe shipment

I have been a torrenter since 2004-2005 and have been using eMule back in the early days when file sharing was not really common like how they are used to be these days. Then after a few years in 2008-2009 I switched over to µTorrent and it has been my favorite torrenting software since then till today. Back in the early days of 2006-2007, I used to download and upload atleast 30 GB per month and currently I torrent atleast 750 GB - 800 GB per month. I have been watching bittorrent coin since 2020, but I haven't started using them for utlity purpose until last week. My questions are : What is the real purpose behind bittorrent coin? I have seeded over 20 GB since creating a wallet in bittorrent web application but still I haven't earned anything for seeding the torrent files. Should the downloader donate us with BTT for us to own them? I mostly torrent with 1337x.to and yts.mx and both these sites are internationally available and have been quite popular for pirated content but still the application shows only 2-3 bittorrent token users in web application of Bittorrent Speed. The application says that we need to wait for 24 hours to get the balance updated and I have done that too but still the balance is same. My next question is that : How is the speed maximized when we donate the seeder with bittorrent token? I haven't uploaded 500 GB anytime soon, but the web app shows that I have uploaded so! What does this mean and it has been the same since last week.  On what ration will I earn BTT tokens for seeding files? I have attached screenshot for reference : Local Rule : Let us not discuss about the price action of BTT. I don't really want to hear about the trading opinions either as I am genuinely interested in the real use case and not on the price of the coin. |

r/BitcoinIndia is evolving and we need you in developing a healthy community
AboutAccording to official stats, Reddit is most visited forum and eighteenth most visited site globally but we have far less Indians who visit the site on a regular scale. Over the past 3-4 years, I have been using reddit actively on my personal account but recently I got to know about a separate local subreddit for our Bitcoin India community. Bitcoin is doing extremely good in India in terms of investments and globally and our subreddit is gaining new traction since then. Since there was only a single active moderator to handle the insane spams generating, I thought of offering a helping hand. The current stats of our r/BitcoinIndia subreddit : With the recent surge in Bitcoin prices, we have a huge 7,851 page views and 842 unique visitors visiting our subreddit in these 25 days and I believe this will be rising up in the upcoming months. After getting to know about the availability of our community, I offered to help them through moderation to clean up the community and spice up things a little. After a few discussions with the the admin, I was appointed as a moderator for the community. xrdpx is an excellent moderator who was working solely in cleaning up the spams prevailing over there for 2 years, so to decrease their workload and bring some additional traction to the community I staged this request and was accepted as a result. Being the only moderator for managing 1.5k members will be a hectic task and after I got into the position, I helped them in cleaning up a little and along with xdrpx made the community more vibrant for a pleasant stay to the members. VisionOver the past week, I managed to design a banner and logo and along with that write a FAQ topic to help the new joiners in knowing more about Bitcoin. This will help them get educated more on the trading as well as technical side and will probably be as useful as a sword for fighting the shitcoiners in future. Currently, we are adding more information to the Wiki page related to Bitcoin in India and I would like our Bitcointalk community to co-exist along with r/BitcoinIndia and shape them as one single stronger Bitcoin community in future. We are also editing the FAQ currently and will be making this into a community contribution in future so that everyone can add their inputs to shape the topic well. On top of this, once we have a good user base set up, we are thinking of creating AMAs with Indian Bitcoiners as well. Here in such a case, the members of Bitcointalk and r/BitcoinIndia will be able to ask questions and learn more about Bitcoin from prominent and popular Indian Bitcoiners. But currently this is a future plan and it wouldn’t materialize unless there is a good user base visiting the subreddit and our forum. Once we have a decent traffic, weekly price discussions and technical discussion topics would pop-up where more veteran members can help the newbies in answering their questions. This can help new joiners to keep an eye on the price of Bitcoin and discuss about the technical aspects actively. Even after 2 years of rigorous efforts to bring activity towards our local board, we failed to bring some and we were left only with a handful of old members contributing positively to the board. I hope, if our subreddit and Bitcointalk co-exist with various established users of our forum pitching in their thoughts to develop r/BitcoinIndia, we can make our community more stronger for the future generations. Features1. Spam free discussion about Indian crypto goings: I and xrdpx moderate the community on a active scale, so you would be seeing lesser spams from members. 2. Awards for quality contributions : Awards are like Merits of our forum. They are a way of awarding quality contributions to a post. We are into initial stage of creating this and it might take a random time frame of 1 month to several months based on the user participation in our subreddit. 3. No Trading : No scams and marketplace trading where the majority of newbies are being scammed. r/BitcoinIndia is only for discussions related to Bitcoin in India and if someone needs to trade, they should be heading over to Marketplace (India)4. More sophisticated customization tools are being provided by Reddit to the moderators so that we can shape the community better. 5. Auto-MOD : An Auto-mod feature is currently in our to-do plans to help us more in moderation tasks.

Many of us were already aware that today is the celebration of Guy Fawkes Night/Bonfire Night. In UK, on 5th of November 1605 Guy Fawkes (a member of Gunpowder gang) was arrested while guarding the explosives which would have killed King James I with the explosion of House of Lords. To celebrate the survival of King James I, Guy Fawkes day is celebrated all over UK. Fast forward to 1982, comic book illustrator David Lloyd created a mask for the title character V based upon the notorious Guy Fawkes. Ever since the release of the movie based on the comics released in 2005, anyone who is protesting against the government would be wearing the mask and it gradually became a symbol for anonymity. We sometimes depict satoshi face with a human wearing the Guy Fawkes mask and to commemorate this day, here is a special raffle being conducted! I initially thought of creating this #8 raffle to sync with Whitepaper day which falls of October 31 but since that has been a common occurrence in our forum, I skipped the date and launched the raffle on 5th of November. Talks apart, we are experiencing the 2 year new highs and I hope everyone are enjoying this bull run with their portfolios turning dark green. Signature Codes for popular Collectibles Right from the end of March 2019, I got involved into this beautiful community of collectibles and have been collecting various crypto coins, notes, bars whenever I can and gradually the collections took a small shape over the period. Lately for the past 2 months I thought of learning signature designing which was quite challenging at the beginning and with the help of jayce and roslinpl signature guide, I was able to learn quite a lot of designing skills. All over the forum, many have been spamming for sats and thereby promoting various shady shitcoins/ some legit gambling websites as well. So I got an idea that why not we support the collectibles which we like the most by wearing a signature? The signatures were designed for Full Members, Senior and Hero/Legendary Members and as of now the designs for Kialara and Polymerbit have been completed. A few like MANTIS CRYPTOS, CASASCIUS, BITBILLS logos have already been designed and I am currently designing the signatures for the same which will be updated in a week! I am also accepting orders for Custom Signature Designs (after the announcement of my ongoing designs and will be designed only for collectors/collectibles) which will be designed for free of cost and will take around 3-4 days per design. A known person of mine is currently pursuing a MBA degree on "Technology and Operations Management" background. They already have a Engineering degree in Computer Science and they were asked to do a project based on their current studies and they have approached me for an idea. I don't really have much time to think on a good project based on bitcoin and I would like to know the community opinions on the ideas for the project. Basically the core idea of the project is that it has to be efficient for the workplace or should be increasing the productivity of a company based on the gathered data and charts. The only two ideas I can get as of now is "Six Sigma Process for improving the quality of company which is set up on Bitcoin" or "Taking a review from public for setting up a firm based on Bitcoin"I have already read the reddit topic : https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1wx5yo/doing_mba_project_on_bitcoin_can_use_help_in_topic/ and have got a general overview on it. But I would like to know various ideas from bitcoiners over here. May be I can go to the extremes of contacting a few developers from Lightning Labs/Blockstream/Chain Codes through Twitter or through this forum for getting their points on the Sig Sigma model and how they have been improving the quality of company year by year? |

So, for quite some time I have been confused about the rules which are being followed up in the Indian board. There was Benson back in 2013-2017 who made up the now available unofficial rules, but they have been outdated and many of the new members aren't still following up them quite actively and are making up their own rules for the board. Since the forum on the whole relies on the idea of decentralization and free speech, devising certain specific rules is not really advisable but on the other hand leaving up random spam topics in various parts of the local board would clutter the whole Indian board quite sooner. There are no official rules and there shouldn't be any official rules forever and this is how a decentralized forum should work based on the inputs gained from various community members. S_D the author of original Unofficial rules of Indian forum is highly inactive and any new suggestions or improvements in forum (like Merit, DT decentralization etc) were never addressed in the topic and has been outdated since then. S_D's contribution through the topic was certainly great but shouldn't we move forward by having more inputs from community members? - Scam Accusations and Reputations of a bitcoin based company is being posted in the main board but they do find a place in the Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) board. - Similarly, Press & News from India board should consist of news paper clippings which highlights about cryptocurrency standards being followed in India which isn't currently happening. Many newbie accounts are posting stuffs which are being published in newspaper and doesn't relate to bitcoin in general. - Regional Languages (India) sub board seems to be rotten. Shitposting newbies from various parts of our country are churning out shits in the form of posts. We never have any good discussions going over there in our Indian languages. India is a complex country where we speak a large number of languages and follow a varied number of traditions. So my idea is to have the main Indian board to be present in English and move our Indian language topics to Regional Languages (India) sub board. What are your thoughts on this suggestion? - Marketplace (India) : Since, the board is dedicated to India I hope dealing with currencies other than INR shouldn't be allowed. I have seen newbies posting stuffs like selling bitcoin for EUR, USD and other global currencies. What is the purpose of selling Bitcoin other than INR in an Indian board  What are the community thoughts on framing certain set of new unofficial rules which can make our local board more organised for new members? |

Amid the worse prevailing conditions due to the virus outbreak and the huge dump in the market, I would like to announce the game for the month of March.
