3  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / KnC Datacenter? on: February 06, 2014, 11:43:59 PM
How will this affect BTC???  Or is this just proving what we have known all along that the OEM's mine our gear before they ship it to us?

4  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD OUT - IN THE USA] USB Based Powered PCIe Risers $18-$20 on: January 30, 2014, 01:43:51 AM
Flexible USB-based powered PCI-E risers $18-$20/each

SOLD OUT - Thanks for the business!

I have IN STOCK and now selling PCI-E 1x > 16x risers. I have a total of 200 on hand. They are powered with either a 4-pin floppy power plug or the INCLUDED SATA power adapter.  They have a built-in PCI-E presence mod for improved video card detection, are pluggable in any size PCI-E slot (1x, 16x, or any size in between), have extra caps for power filtering, and utilize a USB 3.0 cable as the means for transferring the PCI-E signals. The INCLUDED USB cable is 30cm long.

I have received a few questions regarding the color of the circuit boards and the cables.  The boards are blue and the USB cables are white.  The photos below are actual photos of the product.

I have also personally tested one of these adapters with a 6ft and a 10ft USB 3.0 cable.  There was no noticeable loss of hashing power.

The test included a fresh boot in Windows 7, hashing for 5 minutes and taking the CGMiner <5sec> and <avg> hash rates.  In each case the 6ft and 10ft cables had less than 100hash/sec from the 30cm cable that is included with your purchase.

HOW DO I PAY YOU?

I will accept dollars (PayPal is possible, but I will only ship to the verified address on file. I will refund your payment if you have an unverified account) If you have negative Trust in the forum or are not in the USA, please see the payment methods below.

7  Economy / Economics / Difficulty.....It can't keep going up 30% each increase. on: December 19, 2013, 12:41:15 AM
Can anyone explain to me how it’s possible to keep going up in Diff by 30%?

At some point in the near future (2-3 months) the dominant machines will be 2-3Thash but the total number of those machines will be lower than the total number of ASIC blades, USB miners, and random BFL miners that have not burst into flames.

What is the speculation on difficulty?  In two months will it be a battle of the "Haves" and "Have not’s" with regard to Thash machines?  Will this be the end of the "bedroom" miner?

I am just interested in some banter about where you think the diff is going with TerraminerIV and Hash fast coming online and do you think their supply of machines will be enough to disrupt the diff for the small time miner?
8  Other / MultiBit / Is there a way to "Merge" two wallets from within Multibit? on: December 17, 2013, 12:52:20 AM
I have created two wallets in Multibit, is there anyway to get BTC from one address to the other.......other than transferring it to myself and paying a transaction fee?

Thank you for your time.

11  Economy / Economics / Speculation of Hardware Prices. on: November 20, 2013, 11:16:06 PM
I am sorry if this is in the wrong location, I checked the "Speculation" forum first and is was labeled "Speculation on Bitcoin Price."  This question is more hardware price speculation.

I am new to bitcoin, but I have been sitting on the sidelines for months watching things and I just recently bought some mining hardware.  Some of my very "techie" friends have told me that I am a fool for getting into mining.  Mainly because of the increasing difficulty and the cost of electricity to run the hardware.  But, since I currently live at a location that electricity is almost free I pulled the trigger on some hardware.  With this being said, I have been watching the hardware prices in a few locations over the last three weeks.

Three weeks ago, USB Block Erupters were selling for about $10.  At the same time a 10Gh ASIC Blade was running about $200.  Then the BTC price spiked to $900, immediately I saw that hardware prices shot up. (Basic Econ101, Supply and Demand)   Today the USB Erupters are near $20-$25 each and the Blades are around $300

Here is the question, Now that BTC has made a correction on the back side of the $900 spike.  How soon should I expect softening in the Hardware market?

Thanks in advance for your replies.
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining Help..... USB Block Erupter "No USB Devices Detected Error" on: November 13, 2013, 10:44:31 PM
This really should be posted to the "Mining Help" board but.....I am new so I am forced to post it here.

I am using a "known good" 333Mh USB Block Erupter.  It works fine in another machine and has hashed properly for a few days with no/little hardware errors.

Let me first say, I have read every tutorial on "Setting up Block Erupters" I could find.  Most of them are outdated regarding Windows 7 and CGMiner.  Additionally, I have searched the forums for the "No USB Device" error and have reviewed the trouble shooting on each thread that popped up.

Machine #1 is a Windows 7 SP1 64bit Machine with an Intel i5 processor.  The USB Erupter is plugged into a USB2.0 socket and I am running CGMiner version 3.7.2  It runs with no problems at this time.

Unplugging the Erupter and plugging it into Machine #2 and starting CGMiner gives me the error "No Devices detected!"  "Waiting for USB hotplug devices or press q to quit"
Machine #2 is also a Windows 7 SP1 64bit machine however, it has a newer motherboard and all the "on board" USB slots are 3.0.  I was able to verify that the USB ports are set to provide 500mA and are backward compatible to USB 2.0.   This PC case does have a front USB port that is USB2.0 and plugged into the motherboard via connector.  No matter what USB slot I plug the erupter into, the LED blinks 4 times then stays on.  I have ran all Windows Updates, Installed the Intel SDK for OpenCL, and ran the Zidag utility a million times and it still does not work.   The only other USB device plugged in during all my testing was an usb mouse.  I even tried it without the mouse and still no luck.  I also tried every single port on the motherboard and the front of the case.  I also tried using the latest version of CGMiner 3.8.1

My only other idea is to go buy a powered USB hub or internal USB2.0 PCI card and try to plug the erupter into that.

Does anyone have any other ideas before I go and potentially spend unnecessary money on more hardware?

Thanks in advance.
