24  Other / Off-topic / Google Fined $5 Billion, Given 90 Days to Stop ‘Illegal Practices’ on: July 19, 2018, 04:33:49 AM
EU says Google illegally pushes searches, browser Android

Google received a record 4.3 billion-euro ($5 billion) antitrust fine from the European Union and was ordered to change the way it puts search and web-browser apps onto Android mobile devices. The penalty -- the same amount the Netherlands contributes to the EU budget every year -- is far higher than any other dished out by the U.S., Chinese or other antitrust authorities. More significantly, Google was given until mid-October to stop what the EU called "illegal practices" on contracts with handset manufacturers that push its services in front of users. It faces daily fines of 5 percent of revenue if it doesn’t obey.

Google owner Alphabet Inc. generated about the same amount of money as the penalty every 16 days in 2017, based on the company’s reported annual revenue of $110.9 billion.

29  Economy / Speculation / When will you sell Bitcoins ? on: July 11, 2018, 02:22:22 PM
10 to 12 times profit is 14 years is OK. Then it stops as per normal trading in financial markets. Now stock markets will most likely see -30% fall.

$400 to $7000 in 4 years for bitcoin is 20 times profit. This could be the reason Bitcoin starts falling from $6,700.

When will you sell Bitcoins ??
30  Other / Off-topic / A car will cost you $700/month to $4000/month on: July 09, 2018, 04:35:28 PM
Let's say you buy a $20,000 car and you have this car for 7 years. So $20,000/7 = $3000/year.

You will change all the 4 tyres every year plus fuel expenses every month plus maintainence/garage expenses for 7 years.

So your monthly expenses for a $20,000 car = $700/month (approx) and for $200,000 car = $4000/month (approx)

33  Economy / Economics / $250/barrel oil if Iran blocks key shipment route in Middle East, analyst on: July 07, 2018, 09:29:30 AM
A helicopter from the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln hovers over an Iranian patrol ship during a transit through the Strait of Hormuz

Tehran is threatening to block the Strait of Hormuz, a crucial artery for oil shipments from the Middle East, if Iranian exports are hampered. This will result in a huge loss of global crude supply and soaring prices.“The declared nominal throughput capacity of the Strait of Hormuz is about 14 oil tankers per day, or 17 million barrels per day, or about half of the world’s daily crude oil exports. If exports through it stop, the law of supply and demand would double oil prices to $160 per barrel,” Vladimir Rojankovski, investment analyst at Global FX, told RT.

The analyst added that if the Strait is blocked for one or two months, oil traders could panic and buy out all available crude futures, sending prices to $250 per barrel. However, Rojankovski expressed doubt that Iran would do that since the area is highly militarized. Most of the crude exported from Saudi Arabia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Iraq passes through the Strait of Hormuz. It is also the route for nearly all the liquefied natural gas (LNG) shipments from the world’s largest exporter, Qatar.

35  Economy / Economics / America threatens China with $500 billion in US trade tariffs on: July 06, 2018, 12:43:41 PM
As US tariffs on Chinese imports worth $34 billion kicked in on Friday, President Donald Trump said he would consider imposing additional levies on $500 billion in Chinese goods, should Beijing retaliate.Another $16 billion are expected to go into effect in two weeks and potentially another $500 billion, Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One on his way to Montana before the tariffs kicked in.First “34 (billion dollars), and then you have another 16 in two weeks and then as you know we have $200 billion in abeyance and then after the $200 billion we have $300 billion in abeyance. Ok? So we have 50 plus 200 plus almost 300,” Trump said, adding “It’s only on China.”

Hours after Washington introduced 25 percent trade tariffs on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods, Beijing retaliated with mirror measures against American imports. Chinese tariffs will reportedly target US products such as soybeans, seafood and crude oil. China warned that while it has promised not to "fire the first shot," it would now be forced to "counterattack" in order to defend its core interests. It has vowed to inform the World Trade Organization (WTO) and work with other countries to “jointly safeguard free trade and the multilateral system.”

39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Gold runs blockchain technology on: July 04, 2018, 01:44:22 PM
Note: See on the right side of each post (top right corner) there is "+Merits"

There is $10 to $100 worth of Gold in each computer processor (intel, qualcomm etc..). Gold runs the technology world.

Gold is not getting used in laptop and computers only but also in smartphones and TVs . The gold used in these devices is not recoverable and it make around 10%  of the total demand of gold. There is still too much scope in the expansion of the  smartphone industry so this demand will go up and remember this  amount of gold is lost (deflation). There are other industry uses of gold (like medicine, aerospace etc.) but they do not make a significant portion.

Gold is at $1300/ounce and 1 Bitcoin is $6,200   Huh
