1  Other / Politics & Society / The Singularity on: February 26, 2016, 02:10:02 AM
In one of the topics here appeared the subject of downloading the human brain into a hard drive in the near future.
Also one of Ray Kurzweil's books was mentioned.
What do you think (feel about) of this?
Will it happen in the next 50 (maximum) years?
Will this be the first step in becoming immortal?
2  Other / Politics & Society / Proof that God exists on: February 06, 2016, 01:22:02 PM
After long and secular debates about atheism, the need for a separate topic about God's existence has arisen.
There are amongst us a group of people who believe that while there is no proof that God exists, there also is no proof that He doesn't exist.
Please share your argument in a logical manner and abstain from saying things like "I'm right because I'm right".
I know that this, in the end, is a philosophical discussion so only logical are welcome.

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / So if altcoins go on the rise what new coins are there to look into before? on: August 18, 2014, 08:38:38 PM
Right now I am watching, and mining, burst because it uses HDD capacity to mine which I find interesting.

Of course if altcoins go on the rise everything will make a slight rebound but I am wondering about interesting coins that newly got something different that might get a huge jump.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is anyone else surprised Topcoin has a value that can be traded in Bitcoin? on: February 05, 2014, 06:49:40 PM
https://www.swisscex.com/market/TOP_BTC

I mined it because I mine basically any coin I find at launch. Honestly I didn't expect it to ever reach an exchange and if it did that it would only be barely sellable in a litecoin market.

Two day block halving seems far too quick for a coin to sustain miners in the long term because it will quickly be worth next to nothing per block unless the price shoots up.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / CageCoin had its Dev come back, release a pool, and use it to steal mined coins on: January 30, 2014, 05:40:47 AM
Coin forum thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=394958.0

Series of Events basically went like this.

1. Cagecoin is created

2. Dev disappears after 6 days

3. Dev returns after 21 more days with a single post of an official pool

4. People complain about official pool not being possible to cash out from

5. Website and block explorer go down.

Basically if you have the coin your options are hope someone comes into to take over the coin or cashout while you can.

8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / There is now an effort to improve Clossus Coin on: January 26, 2014, 08:24:19 AM

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Why did any of you attempt to use Crypsty to buy/sell your Doge? on: January 21, 2014, 04:18:18 PM
You should all know better at this point that at the first sign of a high price raise the site stops functioning at any decent level.

I sold mine at BTER and have had 0 problems.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Just sold all my Doge. Hope I hit it on the high end. on: January 21, 2014, 05:55:51 AM
Of course I sold it on BTER since every other coin with a quick raise I have experience has caused constant problems at Cryptsy, which is why I have had BTER in my signature for a while.

Did Cryptsy crash and burn with this raise as well?

I would like to have another exchange with decently high volume I can use but BTER seems to be the only one I haven't had issues with.

Definitely regret selling my 500k doge when I did.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / [ANN][BEL] Bells - Fast and fun! - Scrypt - Random Block Rewards - No Premine on: January 20, 2014, 12:20:29 AM

This is not my coin I am just posting it to Announcements since the creator never did.
The creator is the same as Dogecoin.

Original thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349695.0

[BEL] Bells

Scrypt coin based on the currency from the Nintendo game Animal Crossing.

Logo by Daswiruch

In the Animal Crossing universe, Bells are the primary form of currency. To gather them, you must collect fruits, catch bugs, fish, dig for fossils, etc. and trade those items for Bells. In the crypto world, we just mine for them!

The Bell amount you get from the various items is quite random, so Bells as a cryptocurrency has random rewards in various denominations as well.

Future work
Bells was made with fun in mind as well as an unhealthy obsession with Animal Crossing Smiley
If it catches on in popularity, I may be compelled to work on a "Tom Nook's store" type trading Post exchange for virtual goods and the like!

Code:

My holdings as of thread creation
Code:
My coin holdings as of creating this thread were mentioned that I might have a lot and wanting to pump the coin to sell.
At the start of this post I have ~42k bells and only have about 250 KH/s to mine with.
You can look at how many blocks have been mined already and the current mining hashrate yourself and see that isn't much.

If anyone wants to donate to me for bringing awareness to the coin they can here if they want: BDCiYUTiHqrcs81BZBUeZU1ZZ991xqo6uD

I like Animal Crossing and cryptocurrencies that don't have billion+ totals.
That is why I made sure this coin got posted in the correct section even though it is a little older.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What coin names that are unused do you think would be good choices? on: January 19, 2014, 09:08:01 PM
I have two that I think would be good.

1. Beads - Beads have been used as a currency before and it separates itself from ****coin names that are common.

2. Steamcoin - When dogecoin first got people's interest it was traded for steam games first. I don't think valve would be the type of company to attempt to stop a cryptocurrency using their logo and it gives the coin an intended purpose that wouldn't be too difficult  to actually achieve.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / When is it better to solo mine than to be in a pool? on: January 07, 2014, 12:42:38 AM
Wondering.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / 1 billion+ coins leads to prices so low LTC trades can barely occur on: January 06, 2014, 05:52:20 AM

Just look at the prices of them.

Can we end this trend already?
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What are you mining right now? on: January 04, 2014, 07:10:32 AM
Thought seeing what everyone is mining would be interesting.

I am currently mining NoodlyAppendageCoin.

1/2 as many total coins as Doge.

1/10 max rewards per block compared to Doge.

Kittehcoin is not based off a Meme and kittens don't stop being popular.

Lets see where these prices go.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / We either need a giveaway section or giveaways be banned. on: December 31, 2013, 09:55:21 AM

It looks like at least one coin is trying to spam their way to popularity with giveaways and if it is remotely successful that is all this section will become
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Frozen possibly being added to coinedup soon on: December 31, 2013, 05:21:36 AM
The post on Reddit asking for a few coins to test with: http://www.reddit.com/r/FrozenCoin/comments/1tx8rf/need_a_few_fz_to_run_exchange_tests/

Same thing happened with Earthcoin before it was added:http://www.reddit.com/r/CoinedUp/comments/1ttf0u/need_some_earthcoin_for_testing/

It is a coin mined the same way as Quark but with fewer coins and a more fair distribution of coins over time.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Now is a good time to talk to /r/bitcoin about alt coins on: December 06, 2013, 08:21:05 PM
With the latest bitcoin crash some of them are finally realizing Bitcoin might not be equal to a god.

Since they have having problems cashing out for USD now is the time to comment so they know they have the option of transferring into other coins.

No email to make account if new so takes no time to start posting: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/new/
