167  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-02-16] Bitnation Launches Virtual Nation Constitution On Ethereum on: February 16, 2016, 12:24:09 PM
BitNation, a collaborative platform for do-it-yourself governance, has coded the world’s first, virtual nation constitution.

During a 3 hour live session in Rio de Janeiro, Bitnation:Pangea was created in 140 lines of code. The highlight of the event was codifying its ‘Liquid Holocracy’ based constitution, and its launch as the framework for the Bitnation Decentralized Borderless Voluntary Nation (DBVN) on the Ethereum blockchain.

The framework is inspired by the Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO), Bitnation said. The code is open source, and will be shared on GitHub for anyone to use, contribute to, or fork.

Bitnation has been using bitcoin blockchain. Explaining its reason for shifting to Ethereum, Janina Lowisz (AKA Blockchain Girl), one of Bitnation’s worldwide ambassadors, told AllCoinsNews:

“Ethereum`s smart contract capabilities better suit the needs of the coming Pangea platform, and Bitnation users will have a smoother and better user experience”.

Bitnation Pangea’ Github page describes it as the world's first blockchain powered Virtual Nation. It is a collaborative platform for Do-It-Yourself Governance, providing all services traditional governments provides. The platform relies on the ID and Reputation System (The BITNATION Passport), the Dispute Resolution System, the Public Notary and a DIY Governance (D)App Library where others can create, upload, share or sell their own Governance (D)Apps.

Additional services include marriage, wills, childcare contracts, birth certificates, land titles, corporate incorporation and equity trade, unemployment insurance, pensions, health care insurance, security, and diplomacy.

In a blog post on Medium, founder Susanne Tarkowski Tempelhof said that Pangea has been built using the technology of, and in partnership with, Horizon and The Blocknet. The platform has been built to be optimized for decentralization, and for mobile use.

Last May, Bitnation released a first alpha of Bitnation Pangea collaborative platform for DIY Governance.

168  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hard Fork = Bitcoins * 2 ? on: February 09, 2016, 12:37:30 AM
Read a article I think it was on Forbes website that a hard fork can mean some Bitcoin owners can unscrupulously double their Bitcoin balance? True or false?
169  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Technological Wizards of the Banking Industry on: February 02, 2016, 01:20:40 PM
What happened to all the so called technological wizards who work in the banking industry? The financial sector often boasts that it only employs the best of the best, so that said, why didn't one person within that sector design, develop and conceive an electronic cash or distributed ledger system? What have all these technological wizards been doing within the banking industry all these years?

176  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / To The Moon on: November 04, 2015, 07:55:29 AM
Can posters please reframe from using this term. I find it substantially and economically immature (not least fundamentally retarded) to coin such a phrase, especially when, all things considered, not one of us has any slightest idea where Bitcoin price will be in 1 year, let alone 1 month. So quit jinxing it.

If this terminology also annoys you then please post here and let's voice our disquiet together, as one.

178  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoins 7 Transaction Per Second Limitation on: October 01, 2015, 09:57:05 PM
Is it true that Bitcoin is limited to 7 transactions a second which are recorded in 1 block every 10 minutes? Does that mean 1 block can only hold 7 x 60 x 10 = 4200 transactions? With the growth of Bitcoin usage this has to be a drastic limitation oversight by Satoshi? How can Bitcoin be scaled for a global audience?

Opinions.
