[YouTube] My Cloud Rainforest Ecosystem Vivarium Series - AntsCanada

https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5vZEY2A9f_h1WEcKKbo-RoY7Y4GjkuUy

Check out this series.  AntsCanada builds a rainforest in his house!  It is one of the best series of YouTube videos I've seen and it's still being added to weekly.  We can also help decide what happens in the future by voting in the community tab on the channel.  If you like bugs, aquariums, or just plain old good storytelling, you'll love these videos.  They have me wanting to buy myself an ant farm from his website and try my hand at ant farming. 2  Economy / Speculation / 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: February 06, 2024, 10:22:31 PM
Bitcoin is headed to $100,000 and that's not speculation. OK, maybe it is, but the 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K challenge is real and has been echoing throughout the community for a week now, so I thought I would make a thread here for those of us who want to try and hold ourselves accountable.

The first video that comes up when you do a quick search for this is Jae from Proof of Work Fitness, so I'll give him credit for kicking off this trend until someone corrects me with better information.  You can see his video about it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPrsA7gBc3U

I myself started this challenge on 2/2/24 and hope to inspire other Bitcoiners to take this step to help build some muscle in the community.

Here's a video showing you what happens to your body after doing 100 push-ups a day for a month and gives some tips on proper form: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=euPXf2hqU3s

My only real tips would be to not worry about trying to do 100 push-ups at once.  Break them down into as small of sets as you need to keep from hurting yourself.  I also prefer doing push-ups on my knuckles as I think it saves my wrists from a lot of stress.

If 100 a day is too much, maybe try to start with whatever "K" the Bitcoin price is at and work your way up to 100 along with Bitcoin.  Smiley

Who's in?!?!?

Want to be included on the spreadsheet tracking everyone's push-ups?  Below is the format to post your progress in order to be added to the spreadsheet.
My example: 100k,OgNasty,69,6900,2024-04-10

[Format(notice no spaces): "100k,UserName,DaysDoingPushups,TotalPushupsDone,yyyy-mm-dd"
This would be the first 3 posts of a new participant named Pushupper who completed 20 pushups on day 1, 30 pushups on day 2, and 30 pushups again on day 3.

Day 1 post include = "100k,Pushupper,1,20,2024-03-15"
Day 2 post include = "100k,Pushupper,2,50,2024-03-16"
Day 3 post include = "100k,Pushupper,3,80,2024-03-17"]

The quotes won't matter to the script and might help emphasize the no spaces rule?
3  Other / Politics & Society / [POLL] Aliens in Florida Mall? on: January 05, 2024, 09:13:26 PM
Most of the reporting I've seen on this situation is people making fake videos on social media about being there and mentioning the wrong date just to get some social media attention.  However, you can't deny that there was a massive police response at a Florida mall.  The common sense explanation is that a group of teens with sticks and fireworks were stealing from the mall, but the much more interesting explanation is that there were 8 foot tall shadow beings roaming around and scaring everyone into a fight or flight response.  There are plenty of pictures and accounts of what happened, but it all seems a little suspect to me.  The main video evidence looks like 3 police officers walking and not a giant alien.  I'll let others go ahead and post pics and videos of the event if they'd like.  My biggest fear is that they're bringing out Project Blue Beam to disrupt the 2024 election, but the most likely cause is that a bunch of teens lit off fireworks in a mall and caused a ton of people to call the police to report shots fired.  No idea where the aliens came into play in this story unless someone might have been talking about illegal aliens and the rumor just got out of hand at some point.

4  Economy / Reputation / WARNING: Telegram Impersonation Attempt on: November 14, 2023, 08:22:00 AM
Please be careful. It has been a few years since I’ve been informed that someone is trying to use my name to scam on telegram but it appears they are back. I do not do business of any kind outside this site using the name OgNasty so if you ever see someone on Telegram or anywhere else using that name, know they are a scammer. Be careful.

Can you confirm that you are the one talking to me on telegram?
5  Other / Politics & Society / [POLL] Do you eat tacos on Taco Tuesday? on: November 07, 2023, 08:47:14 PM
I find myself eating tacos on Tuesdays quite frequently for a variety of reasons. Some of the reasons include lower prices, being part of something fun, and I figure that taco places are moving through a lot of product so maybe the food is fresher. What are some reasons why you do or do not eat tacos on Tuesdays?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Spot Ethereum ETF on: September 06, 2023, 06:17:02 PM
With a spot Bitcoin ETF seemingly being approved on the horizon, ARK Invest has gone ahead and filed for the first Ethereum spot ETF. I suspect this will likely be approved following Bitcoin spot ETF approvals but you never know. This would be a huge catalyst for Ethereum, especially considering the lower market cap when compared to BTC. Thoughts?
7  Other / Politics & Society / Canada censoring the internet? on: August 08, 2023, 02:19:07 PM
I have some Canadian friends that are telling me they are having news websites blocked when trying to browse the internet. They even sent me screenshots as I was in disbelief. It’s starting to make sense why Elon wanted Twitter so badly. I think memes are likely to be how news starts being shared in order to avoid government censorship. Anyone else experiencing the effects of Canada going full China on internet censorship?
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin Promotional Material on: August 02, 2023, 09:20:20 PM
I saw this cartoon and thought it was pretty funny. It had me wondering if a real flyer like this existed that people could print out and put up in places. I’ve seen threads about stickers, so I’m sure there must be a thread with printable promotional material. Anybody got a link or maybe someone wants to help create cool printable stuff like this (talking about the flyer in the cartoon, not the cartoon itself).

9  Economy / Collectibles / Burnt Hair Perfume on: July 11, 2023, 06:47:12 PM
As a fan of Elon’s companies who loves everything they’re doing to get ready for life on Mars, I never miss an opportunity to show my support. This product supporting the Boring Company, which is no doubt preparing to build underground on the red planet to shield from radiation.

The product being burnt hair. It smells as described, but it’s oddly a good smell.

Anybody else grab one of these?
10  Economy / Speculation / [POLL] Should the Fed stop raising interest rates? on: June 14, 2023, 05:53:56 PM
With the Fed set to make an announcement today on the future of their overnight rate, investors are all watching and waiting to see how the market will react.  What do you think the Fed should do?  Should they continue raising rates until inflation is completely squashed and the job market sees an increase in unemployment to above desired levels? or should they stop raising rates out of fear of sending the economy into a recession and causing another real estate crash?  Maybe you think they should get ahead of a recession and lower rates to keep the economy booming?  What do you think?
11  Economy / Reputation / 12 Years on Bitcointalk Today! on: June 04, 2023, 04:08:08 PM
I just noticed the little birthday icon on my profile indicating that today is the day I signed up for Bitcointalk!  Pretty amazing really that it's been a dozen years now.  I guess that sort of makes me one of the old guys around here.  It's been a pretty crazy ride, but I'll admit it hasn't been all that surprising.  12 years ago I signed up for this crazy forum to learn more about this new decentralized currency with a limit on the number of coins that can be produced.  I wanted to take part immediately and went from trading things for BTC, to mining, to helping others trade, then helping others mine who aren't able (through my community organization), and eventually creating cool products.  It's been an amazing ride with a lot of interesting speedbumps along the way, but still we roll on.  Smiley

Some things I've done over the last 12 years that I think are cool...

12  Other / Politics & Society / Target now being boycotted for their pro-trans childrenswear on: May 23, 2023, 09:07:08 PM
It would appear that Target is the current boycott to watch as people are unhappy with the 'tucking' clothing and pro-trans products being marketed to children.  The left has finally gotten the right to start taking boycotts seriously.  All it took was a man dressed up like a woman on a beer can.  Do you think this boycott will be as effective as the Budweiser boycott?  Target executives are already having emergency meetings to try and get ahead of this issue as they do not want their sales to reflect a 25% decline like Bud Light.

13  Economy / Goods / Starship Torch For Sale on: April 17, 2023, 01:15:46 PM

I assume these will sell out rather quickly. A somewhat historic collectible… Thought I’d share as the test flight is about to begin.
14  Other / Politics & Society / Starship about to take flight! on: April 17, 2023, 01:04:03 PM
Just over 15 minutes until takeoff. A historic moment for mankind on our quest to become a multi-planetary species. If you are able, check it out!

15  Other / Politics & Society / Twitter revenue sharing with content creators on: April 13, 2023, 10:10:59 PM
https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1646564065853194241

Elon just tweeted that:
“For the next 12 months, Twitter will keep none of the money.

You will receive whatever money we receive, so that’s 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (they charge 30%) and ~92% on web (could be better, depending on payment processor).

After first year, iOS & Android fees drop to 15% and we will add a small amount on top of that, depending on volume.

We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximize creator prosperity.

At any point, you can leave our platform and take your work with you. Easy in, easy out.”

This is a pretty awesome move to get good content on the platform. Seemingly a direct shot at YouTube. Will you be offering subscriptions to your followers? You need to be 18+, tweet a lot, & have 500 followers… I’ve never really cared about follower count, but it would be cool to participate in this program and start making some cool content. Feel free to post your twitter handle if you are planning to create subscription content.

16  Economy / Speculation / [POLL] MtGox distribution, early payment or full payment? on: March 28, 2023, 09:45:14 PM
With the mtgox distribution constantly being pushed back, it’s possible they aren’t getting enough people registering for payment distributions to meet their expectations. This leads me to believe the final BTC payout if you wait could be much higher than the early lump sum payout. Would you wait and try to get the most BTC possible or select early payout to get this behind you?
17  Other / Politics & Society / [POLL] Is Biden responsible for the current high inflation? on: February 03, 2023, 05:43:32 PM
[POLL] Is Biden responsible for the current high inflation?

With Joe Biden now claiming that inflation was already high when he took office (it was 1.4%) and trying to blame Donald Trump for the reason why inflation got out of control, I wonder how many people actually believe this.  I could go on and on about all the Federal Reserve officials who quit their jobs when the Biden administration wouldn't follow their advice about how to avoid an inflationary mess.  It doesn't matter what the facts are though.  It matters what the people believe.  So, what do you believe?  Is their misinformation campaign working?  Vote with your belief and let's see.
18  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] S17 Pro - 0.005 BTC on: January 21, 2023, 08:56:01 PM
Anyone interested in purchasing an S17 Pro?  Feel free to reach out to me via PM with an offer.  I'm shipping from in the US, so I'd like to keep to shipping in the continental US.  Some details about the machine...  It was just returned from a repair facility with documentation that it has been tested and is working.  It ships without the cables, so you will need those.  I'm looking to accept Bitcoin and can ship the same day if you so desire.  We can use escrow if you pay for it, or you can pay first and I can ship (check my trading history).  Let me know if you have any other questions.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / [POLL] Will BNB crash? Will Binance go bankrupt? on: December 16, 2022, 12:38:07 AM
CZ’s interview today seemed as though it was an admission of guilt that Binance does not have customer funds available to meet the needs of their customers. Just another FTX situation, but Binance had more liquidity to try and stay afloat. Tokens are now coming out and saying that Binance made them put up 200K BNB tokens they couldn’t withdraw in order to obtain a listing. Suddenly the cat is out of the bag. Binance is naked and BNB is worthless as a stand-alone token. This may just be my opinion, what do you think?

I’ll be surprised if Binance isn’t below $100 in 90 days…

My takeaway from this… The more BTC people withdraw from exchanges, the higher the price of BTC will go.
20  Economy / Gambling discussion / [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: December 09, 2022, 04:11:37 AM
ChatGPT is all the rage at the moment. I’ve seen that people are asking it to predict sporting events. Would you leave gambling decisions up to artificial intelligence? Do you see any potential drawbacks for outsourcing your bets to a software program? Has anyone here tried this yet? Do we need someone to put together a thread of ChatGPT predictions to see how accurate they are?  Any other thoughts?
