1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Ways to earn money (cryptocurrency) in 2024? on: March 21, 2024, 05:28:34 AM
I have been thinking about making money in cryptocurrency, but I'm hesitant to try because I don't want to get scammed i.e. didn't get any rewards for the effort I spent. I'm really curious with the current hype in 2024 and how much you've make from it? I know that scam is inevitable in altcoins, so I might be looking to earn with less risk.

What I know the current hypes in 2024 are:
1. Testnet airdrop
2. Meme coins

What about NFT or ordinals? but I think it's really risky because it's non fungible and you can't make sure people will buy your token.
What about P2E games? I haven't hear it anymore.

Probably I missed other hypes or if you know the another way of making money, feel free to comment. Wink
2  Economy / Service Discussion / Lightning network for signature campaign payment? on: May 08, 2023, 04:19:43 AM
To be honest I don't have any problem if I receive my signature campaign payment longer than before due to ordinals transaction spamming in bitcoin network, right now the fee for low priority is 345 sat/vB or worth of $13.66, the campaign manager obviously will pay higher than that because there are many participants/receipt addresses.

However I haven't see any campaign is paying their participants through lightning network, using native segwit will make the fee is more cheaper, but it's not really the best choice.

So I have two questions here:
1. For campaign manager: are you fine to spend more money due to high transaction fees right now?

2. For participant: if you have two options to choose, are you prefer to receive your payment in your native segwit address or lightning network address?
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Recent event: Stay away from centralized exchanges (FTX, Binance, etc), use DEX on: November 09, 2022, 06:08:10 AM
Recent event should make us aware to leave centralized exchange and move to decentralized exchange, FTX aka the top 2 popular centralized exchange right now are halts all crypto withdrawals [1] this is also another reason why you must not leave your coins inside the exchange, you must hold in your non custodial wallet or hardware wallet, remember "not your keys, not your coins".

There's a complaint from a user who can't withdraw his money on FTX [2]

There's also a news if Binance want to acquire FTX [3] even though Binance is the top 1 centralized exchange, don't forget Binance has an accusation where they block user withdrawal [4] and force anyone to submit KYC [5]

Don't use centralized exchange anymore, learn to use decentralized exchange e.g. BISQ.

4  Economy / Reputation / Account changed hands, neutral or negative tag is more appropriate? on: August 18, 2022, 02:42:44 PM
There's a thread created by a woken up user which she say she's using her dad account with his consent and the reason why she use her dad account is a restriction on speech. Well I wouldn't judge her excuses since she's still not really understand about this forum rules.

Does this mean your dad will never use this account again and now you're the one who have full control about this account (BccKing) ? I will wait for your answer.
2. He has passed away, and he gave me this account. If I re-register a new account, I am worried that there will be restrictions on speech, so I use this account.

The concern is I leave a negative feedback on her dad account, the reason is the account already changed hands and it's used to warn other users which know who's BccKing wouldn't get tricked as now the ownership already changed. There's no reason to use her dad account, creating an account is easy and she would be fine (she can ask LoyceV to whitelist her as long as she isn't a shitposter). But someone warn to me if my feedback is wrong, he advice me to use neutral feedback. But AFAIK when account already changed hands, the account will get negative feedback just like this thread [1]

If leaving negative feedback is wrong, then how about many DT members already leave negative feedback then? does they should changed his feedback to neutral?

I don't get mad, but I just have different opinion against him.

I also think he give positive feedback to the account with the reason of counter feedback against me isn't correct too.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Newbies: Don't panic and learn to hold on: June 13, 2022, 10:36:46 AM
I think this topic is worth to remind again for many newbies who panic about the current situation where Bitcoin price $30K strong resistance now drop to $24K currently traded. There are many so called expert who always predict Bitcoin price will go to x, the bottom is x etc, also one of them were offer to give his money to everyone if his prediction gone wrong, this strategy is to convince newbies to believe his words.

Take look on these so called expert who predict Bitcoin price:
1. The ‘Ultimate’ Bottom?—Major Fund Manager Reveals Shock Bitcoin Price Prediction And Stark Crypto Warning As Ethereum, BNB, XRP, Solana, Cardano And Avalanche Plummet
2. Renowned analyst who predicted Bitcoin price top at $69,000, now claims the bottom is at $24,000
3. Bitcoin price may bottom at $15.5K if it retests this lifetime historical support level
4. Crypto is dead. Long live crypto
5. Long-Time Bitcoin Bear Offers $1,000 To Every Retweeter If His Prediction Of BTC Hitting $10K In 2022 Goes Wrong

Don't believe of those so called expert predictions since there's no guarantee their words will come true, there's no crystal ball in this world. If they're a time travel who know the correct Bitcoin price in the future, they would shut up and just bought the bottom price, so they can sell at the peak since they're already know it. But, why does they need to told everyone the Bitcoin price will crash to x etc? Because they want to gain popularity if their words are come true. They just randomly guessing the price in hoping they're correct.

Did I scared after looking this chart? No, because if you look at the history, you will see Bitcoin have been survive 3 times about the dump/crash.

The first is on 2017 and 2018, where the peak is $19K and the bottom is $3K (84% change)
The second is on 2019 and 2020, where the peak is $11K and the bottom is $5K (54% change)
The third is on 2021, where the peak is $60K and the bottom is $30K (50% change)

Now we're previously at the peak $69K and currently the bottom is $24K (65% change) is still not beat the 2017 and 2018 history where the change is 84%, why would we panic and not trust Bitcoin anymore? Think about it.

If you still keep thinking Bitcoin will dead, do you forget all the adoption from any institutional, government, and foremost the countries who accept it as a legal tender. Not to mention Bitcoin already improve a lot of the development e.g. Lightning network to solve the scalability issues, using for friendly energy for mining, hash rate & difficulty increase to prevent from 51% attack etc. Bitcoin right now is more scarcer since it's already mined 19Million Bitcoin, only 2Million left. We're already close Bitcoin will be accepted in entire countries due to it's value and become a currency since the price will be more steady. This is the reason why I AM HODLING.

Don't predict the bottom, just do Dollar Cost Averaging or Averaging down to accumulate more Bitcoin. We're as a Bitcoin enthusiast are looking for long term, not short term or instant profit by pump & dump of shitcoins. Also there's nothing wrong to diversify your investment, but make sure you're diversify to other assets/commodities e.g. gold, silver, bonds, real estate etc, never diversify to shitcoins since it's worst than Bitcoin.
6  Other / Meta / Proposal: Adding grey underline in every links on: May 13, 2022, 05:27:59 AM
This thread was created when I stumbled this post, first I think his post is normal and doesn't have anything suspicious since there's nothing different in my eyes e.g. font size, font color, links etc. I wanted to reply his post, so I have to quote his post, then I see there's a hidden hyperlink on his post. A normal link or hyperlink will shown with pastel blue color, but since he's using black color on his link, no one will noticed it except we quoting his post or hovering our pointer to each words of his post. That's hidden hyperlink isn't harm anyone, but I'm thinking in the future there will be scammer might using this method to scam anyone.

Since we can change our font color with any color, then I tested out to change the font color with the bitcointalk's background. It worked!

Apocollapse <- A word colored with forum's background color (#ecedf3)
Code:
[color=#ecedf3]Apocollapse[/color]

My next experiment is using forum's background color and hyperlink.

Apocollapse <- A word colored with forum's background color and hyperlink
Code:
[url=https://bitcointalk.org][color=#ecedf3]Apocollapse[/color][/url]
In this version, you can still see a difference when you're hovering your pointer to the exact word, there's a black underline.

Now what if I'm combining the forum's background color, hyperlink and underline?

Apocollapse <- A word colored with forum's background color, hyperlink, and underline.
Code:
[url=https://bitcointalk.org][color=#ecedf3][u]Apocollapse[/u][/color][/url]
In this version, if you didn't really pay attention you wouldn't noticed there's a hidden hyperlink since there's no black underline show up even you've hovering your pointer. This because if you change the font color, both of underline and strikethrough color will follow the exact font color too, it looks invisible.

Apocollapse
Apocollapse

If you're using PC to open this forum, you can still see the link show up on bottom left corner, however if you're using phone you can't (but you can press and hold to see the link). Dragging the whole post or quote is the only way to see the hidden words and hyperlinks.

This trick can be worse if someone use it on the blank spot between each paragraph/sentence, anyone wouldn't notice since it looks like a normal text, below is the example:

"Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Volutpat sed cras ornare arcu dui vivamus. The main reason why I proposed this because I've seen so many people trapped into phishing sites, mostly the victim is a newbie, but a few old user can still tricked too. I did google and found some old threads of Bitcointalk's forum phishing before:
1. [BEWARE!] Bitcointalk Credential Phishing Attack -- Targeting Collectibles
2. ⚠️ BITCOIN-TALK FORUM PHISHING WEBSITE! BE AWARE!! ⚠️

I have visited another crypto forum built with SMF and all of the links posted have grey underline color, I guess this forum is possible to add this feature isn't? This what it looks after adding grey underline in every links:

Though you're using forum's background colors (#ecedf3 color for odd number post #1,#3,#5 etc and #f6f6f6 color for even number post #2,#4,#6 etc) anyone can still see a grey underline.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Newbies: Stay away and avoid all bounties! on: May 09, 2022, 06:06:16 AM
This forum intended for Bitcoin related discussion and you can learn about Bitcoin especially from many high ranked reputable users. However beside learning Bitcoin, you can actually earn some money by offering your service, sell goods, signature campaign and bounties. It's not wrong to learn about Bitcoin and discuss with other users, also at the same time you can earn money too. But, many brand new users doesn't want to learn about Bitcoin and their sole purpose is to earn money. This wrong approach have been done by many new users, become a bounty hunter is wasting time and no have any journey.

Take a look with this user Smking1212 he's a bounty hunter maximalist where almost of his posts posted on Bounties section (1296 from 1308 posts or 99%). Currently he already have 518 activity which is enough to become a Hero Member, but he never earn any single merit even he's an active user, that make he's still a newbie rank. It's pitiful to see many users didn't care anything with the forum and just doing what does he wanted in this forum.

To be honest bounties is really wasting time, worthless and no have any positive impact for doing that.
  • Bounty is wasting time because you need to spend your times to complete the bounty task, especially you're joining many campaigns.
  • Bounty is worthless because the distributions isn't same as their beginning promise. They're promising the total pool is 1,000,000 tokens and it's will be worth $1/token, so we will think the pool is $1,000,000. But after few weeks the bounty ran, the team reduced the pool from 1,000,000 tokens to 500,000 tokens. Bounty hunters can't do anything since the team reserve the right to change anything about the campaign. Then after the bounty ended and the pool already distributed, the token price doesn't worth $1/token as their promise, now it's $0.00001/token.
  • Bounty no have any positive impact because you're work like a robot by retweet, like, share, one liner comment, post the link etc. You're not learn anything and you don't have any knowledge about Bitcoin.

Let me give you an example of the recent bounty that has been finished.
🔥🔥 [Bounty][CAESAR]153,617.49% APY! CAESAR FINANCE [AVAX C-Chain] $CAESAR🔥🔥 this bounty is managed by reputable campaign manager.

The bounty reward they promised is 100,000,000 tokens worth $150,000 or $0.0015/token. But based on coinmarketcap the price right now is $0.00007859/token. The difference is $0.00142141/token it's really huge and yet any complaint from the hunters wouldn't change the token price. Based on the spreadsheet the average hunters get 25,000 tokens or $1.96475 after working for 4 weeks. The signature campaign participants got the highest share of 1914893 tokens or $150, but don't forget this token only listed on single unknown exchange named TraderJoe. Most of unknown exchanges will charge ridiculous fees even though the fees for the miners is cheap. On my experience I did using Hotbit for sell my shitcoins to Bitcoin and they ask 0.001 BTC/33 USD for the fees while the actual fee I paid for the miners is just $5.

Don't forget bounties managed by reputable manager doesn't always guaranteed the project wouldn't scam, below there are some bounties the project turned become scam:

No one can stop scam bounties and the forum didn't moderated scam too, so we're better off to avoid all bounties and we wouldn't get scammed.
8  Economy / Scam Accusations / Plagiarized Whitepaper - Existence Infinity Metaverse ($EXIS) on: May 08, 2022, 12:59:48 PM
What happened: EXISTENCE INFINITY METAVERSE ($EXIS) plagiarized whitepaper, the thing is they're claimed the project has been fully audited by Analytix Audit, but how can an auditor didn't check the basic thing of the project e.g. whitepaper? This raise a question how an audited project isn't work very well and anyone shouldn't only rely on the word "audited"

9  Other / Beginners & Help / Why there's no Bitcoin Dapps? on: February 26, 2022, 08:56:54 AM
Yesterday I connected my Metamask to Uniswap to swap my token, or this can be said as decentralized apps (Dapps). The process is simple and you don't need to pay any fee, however there's a risk of fake sites that can steal our coins.

Then I search about Bitcoin dapps, but I don't find anything... dapps mostly on ETH and BSC chain. Does this mean there's no Bitcoin dapps? Why no one developer created DEX which can be connected with our non custodial wallet (e.g. electrum, samourai, bluewallet etc)? As my understanding Metamask is non custodial too and there's many sites or web 3.0 accept Bitcoin, so it should be possible I guess.

It sounds cool right when you can use a DEX while your coins still on your non custodial wallet and you don't need to pay transfer fee, we only need to read the whole rules and permissions before connecting the wallet.
10  Economy / Reputation / Police Indo - Suspected farm account on: February 23, 2022, 03:26:29 PM
This user Police Indo is make me curious, he was inactive around 1 year+ since there's a long gap between his first and second post. BPIP recorded he woke up twice on 8/10/2021 10:17:47 AM and 2/13/2022 6:18:55 AM. I'm not really sure why he woke up on 2021, maybe he want to check his account got banned or not, while the second woke up after around 5 minutes he wrote an application for a campaign. And he never log in again after he submitted the application.

Your bitcointalk profile link: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=801831;sa=summary
Your live posts count (including this one): 649
Your bitcoin wallet address: bc1qhlhvyk3npz32e8gm32kr25aeklswl65uynjzpm
Your bsc wallet address: 0x05e0d460f9d16B7436a7d9F829D9f0C0eb546FC4

I think the purpose of the second woke up, he only want to apply for signature campaign and if he's not get accepted he will inactive until he saw there's an another campaign with large quota opened again. I'm not against to any users joining this forum only looking for money, it's up to you. But this case is different, I don't find any his alt using search engine (sorry if I'm wrong) but from his behavior, it's high likely a farm account and shouldn't be accepted in any campaign (hopefully the campaign doesn't accept him).

Now look with the previous application where the manager accept him, he was able to create posts for campaign requirement, after that he will inactive. There's also 14 days gap between before he submitted the applications [1] [2]

The questions is:
1. Why he logged in after many months just for applying a campaign?
2. Why he never came back if he not got accepted?
3. Why he only came back if he got accepted?
I suspect he have many high accounts participated in several campaign, so he doesn't have times to use his non campaign accounts.

11  Other / Beginners & Help / Normies want to become techy person about Technical Bitcoin on: February 19, 2022, 01:49:57 PM
Greetings,

I'm not a techy person and wanted to understand anything about Bitcoin. I know the Bitcoin definition is, how it's work, and other simple understanding. But if someone asked me about lightning network, how to open a channel or somewhat script/code, I have no idea about it. I might know the definition and can follow the tutorial from the guides created by experts in this forum, the thing is I don't completely understood how it can worked and what's the origin/cause of that upgrade/features? Just like 1 + 1 = 2, why the answer is 2, not 3 or 4... why does + is plus, not minus? etc etc.

I saw many people in this sections (Development & Technical Discussion and Bitcoin Technical Support) are very knowledgeful, they can answering any questions comes up while I have no idea where they can know that! I mean, if someone have an issues I would using search engine and type the problem on search engine, then if I see a thread discussing a same problem I'll directly send that's link to the @OP. But those people can answer that based on their understanding, not using an answer from someone! I'm really impressed with that.

Does we need to practice and learn anything about Bitcoin to understand it all? e.g. setting up Bitcoin core, try to open new channel, try to mining yourself etc. I think that's costly enough, Bitcoin core need insane memory and to mine Bitcoin I need to buy mining rigs and many more... that's why I'm looking for the alternative (using electrum and not mine Bitcoin, but buy to hold). It's possible if I can understand those thing without practice and only read from other people experiences?

Thanks for reading.
12  Economy / Reputation / @bitbollo and @Murat were abusing trust feedback on: November 09, 2021, 09:04:21 AM
What happened : I stumbled across Bounty section and I saw there's a drama on [OPEN] Bitgesell (BGL) | Signature Campaign | Legendary-Full Members between bitbollo and Murat.

This is the summary between the issue
1. bitbollo applying the campaign and already wear the signature.
2. Murat doesn't list his name in spreadsheet, also he doesn't mentioned which users got accepted. But list of participants on the campaign is done in spreadsheet.
3. bitbollo still doubt whether he got accepted or not, so he send PM to Murat.
4. Murat doesn't replied his messages in private messages, he said he's busy and not in forum 24/7.
5. bitbollo mad and said he must need the valid reason why he's not get accepted, he tagged Murat,
6. Murat also tagged bitbollo for trust abuse.

Trust feedback rules
Negative (shown as -1)
  • If you believe someone is a scammer, or someone is likely to scam, that deserves negative feedback. Please provide evidence.
  • If you really hate someone and he's a terrible troll, that does not deserve negative feedback.

Why I say both bitbollo and Murat were abusing trust feedback? Because either one of them aren't a scammer or likely to scam, if you don't like someone or feel he's not professional then leave neutral feedback.

Quote
Neutral (shown as =1)
  • Use Neutral feedback for anything that doesn't mean someone can or can't be trusted. This can be good feedback, for instance when someone helped you out.
  • I think Neutral Feedback is currently undervalued on Bitcointalk. It's a great tool to de-escalate without drastic consequences. Please use it when appropriate.

My suggestion :
1. If you're a participants don't force the campaign manager to respond your messages, not all user had time to reply all messages especially not really important thing.
2. Check the spreadsheet to make sure you've got accepted by the campaign manager.
3. If someone leave you wrong negative feedback, you shouldn't do same if he's not a scammer.

I'm respecting both users since both of them are valuable asset in this forum. bitbollo is a great scam buster and cheaters in this forum, while Murat is a trustable campaign manager has been handled a bunch campaign in this forum. I'm create this thread since both of them doesn't deserve to get negative feedback for above issue.
13  Economy / Reputation / Shamm copy-pasted his own post in order to earn merit on: October 25, 2021, 02:10:19 PM
What happened : Shamm copy-pasted his own topic content without adding the original source in order to earn merit of his long written post. Most of the thread starter were a newbie and asking similar questions. It looks odd, there's a chance those thread starter is Shamm alt and then he use his main account Shamm to answer with long written post

Berawal dari iseng2 ngobrol sama temen kantor, ane kepo ubek2 forum, mencoba rank up, ikut2 bounty (walaupun banyak yang scam), belajar BBCODE, coba jual jasa design gambar, coba jual design signature & Terakhir ane buka jasa DESIGNER HTML BANNER untuk forum ini.. alhamdulillah, kalo di itung2 udah puluhan juta ane dapet dari jasa design grapic & HTML Banner.. Lumayan buat nambah2 penghasilan.. hehe

Jasa Saya :
Signature
HTML Banner

Good Luck, Salam Crypto..

Salam agan senior. Hanya ingin berpendapat saja. Saya TIDAK MEMFAVORIT kan atcoin di EXCHANGE gan. Tapi saya mem-favoritkan PAIR ALTCOIN DI-EXCHANGE. Smiley
