1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Zeta Chain - What is Your Opinion ? on: February 04, 2024, 12:16:12 PM
Zetachain recently airdrop to their dedicated testnet users who consistently did the testnet since 2022.
The testnet task where based on doing swap task and claiming points weekly.
I tried to follow up with the test task but I wasn't consistent enough so my allocation was small compare to those who accumulate huge points.

Well zetachain currently running a mainnet xp campaign. I have started accumulating xp and I believe this is another opportunity for earn zeta for the second time.

*What do you guys think about Zetachain as a project?
*Are you participating in the maninet campaign?
*Where you lucky with the first airdrop?
*Are you accumulating zeta for the bull season?

3  Economy / Economics / #HODLing is not a smooth journey on: November 19, 2023, 06:30:55 PM

#HODLing is not a smooth journey, do you agree? Grin
Totally agree, it is mostly easier said than done for most investors. I personally can recall the different juicy opportunities I have missed to really make it big in this space as a result of a lack of patience to HODL. Especially those early days in crypto when you barely understand the market and easily get freaked out with every FUD and market dip.
Experience is the best teacher they say and I believe the majority of us are more experienced and mature over the years of being in crypto.

What is your view on #Hodling Guys?

4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / US Government arrests SafeMoon founders on: November 01, 2023, 05:48:09 PM
Today a federal court in Brooklyn unsealed an indictment against the founders of SafeMoon John Karony, Kyle Nagy & Thomas Smith, charging them with conspiring to commit securities fraud, wire fraud, and money laundering.

According to an article the "Defendants Allegedly Misappropriated Millions of Dollars of Investors’ Funds for Their Own Use, Including the Purchase of Luxury Vehicles, Real Estate, and Personal Investments".

This is very sad because bad acts like this put crypto in bad spot. Another reason why altcoins especially those huge supply shitcoins should not be considered as a long term investment. If you must invest,  let it be for a very short period.

Safemoon price after this news is already down by -28% and I assume this is just the beginning, once the news have spread around it will dip even further.

If you are an investor you should probably be selling because it seems this ship already sinking.

5  Economy / Economics / Us-Based Crypto Exchange Kraken to release significant data to IRS on: October 30, 2023, 08:46:36 PM
I know this is a few days old news but I think it is very important and sensitive information particularly about crypto users and their privacy.

According to the article, the IRS has mount pressure on kraken since May 2021 demanding the exchange hand over extensive records on a large number of its American customers. Although Kraken fought back by filling a petition against them but not enough to get the IRS off it's back.

Kraken has agreed to deliver data on users who conducted more than $20,000 in crypto transactions – including trades, deposits, and withdrawals – during any year from 2016 to 2020 according to the article which makes me wonder why stop at 2020?

According the article, increased compliance from cryptocurrency firms could compel government to enact clear and friendly policies towards crypto. Do you agree to this?

Or do see this as contradicts the ethos of financial privacy and empowerment that attracts many people to cryptocurrency?

6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / 9 years ago today, an epic battle played out on bitcoin exchanges. on: October 06, 2023, 03:19:21 PM

"A whale put 30,000 BTC up for sale at $300 each and the market eventually bought them all. Years later, BearWhale explained what happened (they fell victim to FUD)".

I came across this interesting story on twitter and i followed it to the main source, links include.
So this guy practically dump 30k btc base on FUD he claimed he read on social media like reddit and bitcointalk.org Which includes:-

*The block size limit of 1MB was a threat to bitcoin’s future
*“Satoshi’s vision” was unlimited block sizes
*Gavin was ousted by a cabal of self-interested engineers, a.k.a. “Blockstream”
*Blockstream took control of bitcoin’s source code repository
*Theymos colluded with Blockstream to censor block size increase discussions
*The subreddit r/bitcoin heavily censored block size increase discussions
*Blockstream wanted the block size low to promote its proprietary Lightning Network
*Gregory Maxwell was a bad actor and Luke-Jr was a religious nut
*The market agreed with the above, leading to the then-decline in price towards $300.

And what is more surprising according to the article is he didn't sell during the MtGox saga. However could not resist to sell after reading all kinds of FUD post about btc.

The point is - everyday btc battles all kinds of fud from haters or bad intent people but never allow such fud to lead you to sell your coins. I believe this Bearwhale is seriously regretting his action after seeing the performance of btc price long after he sold.

I highlighted the Theymos part because am not aware of such post.

7  Economy / Economics / Honda Now Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum As Payment Methods on: October 02, 2023, 03:31:49 PM

As the Heading implies. Honda the giant of Japanese automobile now accept bitcoin and ethereum for payment through a third party partnership deal with a blockchain payment system called FCF Pay.
Honda not only taken the bold step of accepting crypto as payment option, also managed to expand their already huge user base with this important development.

Source

With such an opportunity to spend btc to buy luxury cars-
*Will you be willing to spend your btc to buy car from Honda? Or any other automobile company that will follow the Honda's part?

*Which other automobile company would you want to also accept btc for payment?

*Is this news big enough to trigger market uptrend in the coming weeks, months?
8  Economy / Economics / Chase Bank New Policy On Crypto - Users Beware !!! on: September 27, 2023, 05:36:44 AM

Do you believe this is the case or they have interior motives behind it to suppress crypto access?

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Sui - $45 to $2000| Are you Among The Lucky Ones!!! on: May 03, 2023, 03:49:20 PM
As much as it is hard for me to swallow since i was not lucky enough to be among the allow list, part of me feel excited about this amazing opportunity given by the sui team to some of the sui community members.
Those where lucky enough must be in cloud nine for their huge profit. And those of us who are watching from the sideline, lol, will be sad all over for missing out on this opportunity.

So ladies and gents, if you are among the lucky ones, tell us if you are selling or hodling

If you are coping like me, it is okay to air your frustration here  Grin

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / List of Delisted Alts from KuCoin!!! on: February 10, 2023, 05:05:25 PM
The below assets have been delisted from KuCoin which means any moment from now withdrwal will be closed as well. Anyone who is holding any of these assets in KuCoin should act quickly before it is too late.
I would say this type of situation is reason why some alts are not good for long term investment because as new potential projects keeps coming up, some existing ones are fading out slowly because they are not able to keep up with the speed at which things operate in the crypto world.
I must say among all these coins, am a bit disappointed about sov being among the list, those who pariticipate in the signature campaign will understand what i meant. Too bad the team where too greedy in my opinion.

12  Economy / Economics / Texas A&M University BTC Protocol Course on: January 17, 2023, 01:42:16 AM
Quote
Texas A&M University, one of the largest universities in the US, is set to launch its inaugural course on Bitcoin.

The course will focus on the development of Bitcoin libraries from scratch and is expected to be benefitting over 74,000 students

Quote
The announcement was made by Korok Ray, an associate professor at Texas A&M’s Mays Business School, who will be teaching a course named “Bitcoin Protocol” to students in the College of Engineering and Mays Business School starting January 17th.

According to a Twitter thread, Ray stated that after the completion of the “Bitcoin Protocol” course, students will learn how to create a Bitcoin library from scratch in the following course, named “Programming Bitcoin“.

Ray also emphasized that it was a difficult task to gain approval from the school’s curriculum committee and that it took months of effort.

I guess the school curriculum committee don't have much choice than to give their approval. They ignore the role btc is playing in economic and social aspect of life. What better ways to fully gain better understanding than being taught in the school.

Other universities that are now offering cryptocurrency courses include Harvard University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Oxford University, National University of Singapore, Cornell University, and University of California Berkeley.

BTC is definitely gaining grounds and this is the best way of creating awareness and pushing adoption. Hopefully, other countries universities will follow up.

Looking at the above image is BTC bull circle starting in 2023? the market already giving positive signs of recovery, but am of the opinion it is too early to expect the bulls back into the market. Am not an expert in the TA field but I can see some of the influencers and TA analysts on Twitter saying the bull market is back. (i know what people think about those guys)  Cool

14  Other / Off-topic / Androd Users Beware! Hackers target Android users wit fake Shagle video-chat app on: January 10, 2023, 06:54:53 PM
The StrongPity APT hacking group is distributing a fake Shagle chat app that is a trojanized version of the Telegram for Android app with an added backdoor.

StrongPity has been found using a fake website since 2021 that impersonates the actual Shagle site to trick victims into downloading a malicious Android.

Once installed, this app enables the hackers to conduct espionage on the targeted victims, including monitoring phone calls, collecting SMS texts, and grabbing contact lists.

Android users mostly should be aware of this very vital information and avoid installing apps from unknown sources especially downloading apk version of the app.

15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Principles of Bitcoin on: November 10, 2022, 07:01:51 PM
“Principles of BTC — You do not trust a CEO. You do not trust a company. You do not trust a custodian. You do not trust a bank. You hold your own keys. You run your own node. The #bitcoin network will run for the next 1,000 years”, explains @saylor

Anytime incidents like that of FTX occur you will remember why btc remains at the top and will always reign supreme. Another lesson for those who think exchanges are the best option to secure their funds. Not Your Keys, Not Your Money. Do Not Forget.

16  Economy / Economics / Elon Musk Becomes Owner Of Twitter, Immediately Fires CEO And CFO on: October 29, 2022, 03:29:12 PM
Well according to the blog post "Elon Musk has officially become the owner of Twitter after the acquisition closed on Thursday. As reported by Reuters, Twitter’s CEO and CFO, who allegedly provided very little information and provided misinformation, was terminated from the contract and expelled from the head office.
On October 27, billionaire Elon Musk officially became the new owner of social media platform Twitter with a bid of $ 44 billion. The deal was completed after a long time when Elon Musk repeatedly changed his mind about the acquisition and went through a legal battle between the two sides.
Elon immediately fired the company’s executives and chief financial officers, Parag Agrawal and Ned Segal, and other issues. Legal issues and policy director Vijaya Gadde. These are the people Musk alleges they misled him and Twitter investors about the number of fake accounts on the social media platform".

Do you think the Tesla CEO made the right move by firing these top people in the company? There is no denying that Twitter has a lot of shot comings just like every other big platform out and needs some serious overhauling. There are so many complaints about bots and scams and those are the major area Elon intends to tackle. Hopefully, with this new ownership, we are going to see Twitter in a different state.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / New metaverse city in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on: October 13, 2022, 09:18:38 AM
Multiple emirates in the UAE are looking to the metaverse to boost tourism in their respective regions. Sharjah the second most populous emirate in the UAE, with roughly 1.8 million people now joins Dubai in broadening its Web3 ambitions. Through Sharjahverse, the entire emirate will be viewable to the public.
The new metaverse city is a “photorealistic, physics-accurate” metaverse that encompasses the emirate’s 1,000 square-mile surface area. The virtual city will support the local tourism industry and potentially create new metaverse jobs. The metaverse city is backed by the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, or SCTDA, which is the main government agency tasked with promoting the emirate’s tourism industry.

In addition to growing crypto and blockchain adoption at the emirate level, there are signs that UAE’s federal government is readying positive regulatory catalysts for the country. As reported by Cointelegraph in February, the UAE’s Securities and Commodities Authority is developing crypto licensing legislation that would enable digital asset firms to establish operations in the country.

The next bitcoin halving is less than two years, to me, this period will be different because, for the first time, I really am paying attention to important aspects of btc and keeping myself updated as well.
I can't really say much about previous halving other than just reading about them (probably because I was not holding btc) but now is different because I have been accumulating in every little way I can.

So dear colleagues, What are your expectations? other than price increase  Cool
*Do you expect to see widespread adoption and acceptance?
*More involvement from big companies?
*More popular?
*Increase number of users?
*Any other.......
19  Economy / Reputation / False Info : Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option on: September 08, 2022, 06:43:08 AM
I think it is very appropriate to get our facts right or at least try to be honest with the information we feed the forum for whatever reason  Undecided
Agbe I know we all dislike banks and what they are putting people through but don't you think it will be better to provide accurate or near accurate info rather than false information to mislead the forum members?
My problem with your post is that you make it look like this happened recently while it has happens since 2020 prior to lock down or so according to the article.
You fail to make reference to the images source even when it was clearly imprint on one of them. You have risen to the senior member rank and should by now understand how to share information. Please do take note of this moving forward.

Fiat Banks Conspiracy Against Customers. Bitcoin is the Best Option
20  Economy / Economics / Energy FUD!!! on: September 07, 2022, 02:17:00 PM
I can't seem to understand why btc is tagged as the bad guy supposedly consuming all the energy the planet has to offer while about 50,000 TWh is being wasted Roll Eyes
According to the below infographic, the number of energy that is wasted globally is much higher than what all miners can ever consume, although am not very sure of the data accuracy but I want to believe it is close to accurate, btc mining can not be the monster of energy consumption the media and most especially government are presenting it to be.
