146  Economy / Games and rounds / CONTEST: How many Bitcoin Penny™ coins are in the jar? on: May 11, 2015, 10:18:43 PM

Can YOU guess how many Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins are in the jar?

A short while ago, one of our happy customers (aacoins) PMed us with a fun idea. He asked if we’d be interested in co-sponsoring a contest to guess how many Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins are in a jar. We’d provide the coins in the jar, and he’d provide the prize. We thought it was a brilliant idea, so we bought a jar and filled it to the top!

The contest:

Guess how many Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins are in the jar.

(NOTE: You are guessing the number of coins in the FULL jar. The spilled jar is just a great photo for dramatic effect.)

The prize:

The winner will receive a FREE 2-Pack of Bitcoin Penny™ commemorative coins. Shipping included. (Generously paid for and donated by our friend, aacoins!)

The rules:

The contest starts now and will run for one week. We’ve provided the official final count in a hashed message (see signature below). On the morning of May 18, 2015, we’ll post the official final count along with the original hashed message, and anyone who wishes may hash and verify the results.

The winner of the contest is the person who guesses closest to the actual number of coins in the jar (under or over). In the event of a tie, each of the winners will receive the prize.

One guess per forum member.

You may change your guess at any time before the contest ends. However, all changes must be posted as a new reply. (No edits.) This ensures that we don’t miss the change.

BONUS: The first person to correctly guess the EXACT number of coins in the jar will receive a FREE Bitcoin Penny™ Short Roll (x20 coins). Shipping included.

Please feel free to ask questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them.

Happy counting, and good luck!

Best Regards,
Christopher @ The Bitcoin Penny Co.

148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Suggestions for new Vanity License Plate? on: April 29, 2015, 09:13:11 PM
I was going to post this in Off-topic, but those threads have nothing at all to do with bitcoin (and this thread does, in an obscure sort of way).

OK. I'll be applying for a vanity license plate next week for my new (pre-owned) truck, and I was wondering if anyone had suggestions. I'd like the theme to be either bitcoin or Bitcoin Penny. I'm limited to seven characters (letters and/or numbers). Obviously, BITCOIN is a good option. Unfortunately, here in SC, we don't have an online checker to see if any particular license plate is in use already. So I get three choices on my application, and hope that at least one choice is available.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,
Christopher

151  Economy / Service Discussion / Where to find info on group coin grading? on: April 12, 2015, 06:03:56 PM
I've a few more silver collectible coins coming in the next few days, and I'd love to get those and another professionally graded. Anyone here interested in or know anything about group coin grading? (I seem to recall reading there was a five coin minimum by the grading service or something like that.)

I know very little about coin grading, but I'm trusting enough to send my coins and a little money to another member for a group grading project. Grin

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Christopher

Hello, everyone. I went a little silly a few months ago while experimenting with buying crypto domain names. I really don't need these, and I'll never develop them. So if you're interested in them at all, feel free to make me an offer on one...or all.

155  Economy / Trading Discussion / On Pricing Etiquette on: September 02, 2014, 03:41:14 PM
Hello, everyone.

I've tried searching the forum as well as the internet in general, but I can't seem to find an answer to my question. (I must be using the wrong keywords, because I am 100% convinced that this same question has been asked a bazillion times!)

What is the accepted etiquette for BTC pricing as far as deadlines go? For instance, let's say that the current exchange rate for BTC is $500 USD/BTC. If I am selling something on a forum for $100 or .200 BTC, how long should I honor the price of .200 BTC? I mean, if I'm asking .200 BTC because I'm hoping to get around $100 USD for my item, but the buyer decides to wait several days hoping that the exchange rate drops to around $400 USD/BTC, then I lose a significant amount of money on the sale (percentage-wise).

I know that some companies (Overstock, I think) give a one minute (or so) deadline for the BTC price for just this reason, so what is the accepted forum etiquette on BTC price deadlines? Hours? Days? Forever?

Thank you in advance.

My Best,
Christopher
156  Economy / Collectibles / Two (2) Silver Wallets Physical Bitcoins 1st Run Limited Edition for Sale on: August 20, 2014, 12:21:12 AM
I bought these two beautiful little coins (OK, not really "little" at 1 oz. fine silver) a few weeks ago from Charlie Shrem aka Yankee (BitInstant). And I hate to sell these, but I need to fund another project. These special limited edition Silver Wallet coins are from the first 100 coins of the first minting. The serial numbers are #59 and #62. (The photos are of #62 only.) These have never been out of their hard protective coin holders, and have never been touched by me. Unfortunately, the #62 coin seems to have come with its matching numbered holographic sticker only, and not with two additional stickers. (Oh, well. No worries here. You can buy plenty of extras from the Silver Wallets company.) The #59 coin has all three holographic stickers, including its matching numbered sticker.

I bought them both for .5 BTC, which at the time was about $310 USD. I'd ultimately like $300 for them both, or $150 each. And I do accept BTC.

Please feel free to PM me with questions.

Thanks,
Christopher
