1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / How do I check how much Bitcoin Gold do I own? on: November 27, 2017, 05:34:46 PM
Where can I find out how much BTG do I had at the time of the snapshot? was it in October 21? I forgot. Anyway I guess I need to check address by address on some sort of BTG blockchain explorer and sum all the different amounts I own starting since the first BTC I ever owned until the last one before the BTG snapshot was took.

What BTG explorer do you recommend to do this? I don't want to click some dodgy website. I really hate all these forks, even if it's "free money", I don't have the time to keep up with all of this mess. I would rather have BTC itself go higher than deal with these forks.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Roger Ver (BCash) vs John Carvaghio (Bitcoin) on: November 27, 2017, 04:27:24 PM
Wow, this looks like it's going to be an entertaining one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OJT2CbfHTpo

Seems like Roger Ver went insane on this one and gave John the "f-you" finger near the end. I skimmed throught it but I will watch the whole thing latter. Apparently John (which is BitcoinErrorLog btw, I didn't knew he had a Youtube channel) went harder on Roger than Richard Heart, which did a good job, but maybe was a bit too soft in some aspects.

Definitely check this one out as well.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / SSD update worth it? on: October 20, 2017, 03:38:34 PM
I was wondering if updating my hard disk from regular HDD 7200 rpm to SSD would have a big impact when it comes to running a full node. Will it sync much faster?

With 1TB SSD prices finally being more affordable, I could be able to run games and a full node on the disk without running out of space for a long time (if we stay on 1MB that is, otherwise I would need to give up and run pruned mode).
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / SPV wallets AREN'T safe for the upcoming segwit2x attack on: October 17, 2017, 03:54:18 PM
Time to put your big boy pants and download a full node if you are into Bitcoin for real.

SPV will not save you in November. The segwit2x attack is a serious one, only full node users will be safe.

You have until November 17th to get a full node working if you want to be safe and control your own BTC:

5  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Limit of recieving addresses on: October 16, 2017, 06:27:46 PM
Im still using the pre-HD wallet format with Bitcoin Core, and I've just realized I have a ton of receiving addresses, im not sure how many. My questions are:

1- What is the limit of receiving per wallet? (I think it was 100)
2- Once you generate 100 addresses, does the program prompt you that if you generate more than 100, the oldest one will be replaced with the new one?
Because if this is not the case, it's pretty insane since you could lose receiving addresses that you generated years ago and are still used by people to send you money.
3- How do I check how many addresses I have generated thus far to know how many do I have left?
6  Economy / Economics / Will Roger and co pump B2X futures on Bitfinex? on: October 08, 2017, 02:59:39 PM
Roger Ver has shown explicit support for the Segwit 2x fork, to the point of claiming that his propaganda website, Bitcoin.com, will list Segwit 2x as "BTC". Source:

Given these facts, why are the futures looking bad for B2X? These people are rich, shouldn't they be pumping Bitfinex futures on B2X? Or simply there's enough people already dumping it and nobody cares?

Looks like B2X will meet the same fate as BU futures. Just another dead shitcoin.

7  Economy / Economics / Bitcoin on the frontpage of the Wall Street Journal about Goldmans Sachs buying on: October 03, 2017, 12:50:06 PM
I just saw that the next frontpage of the Wall Street Journal includes news on how Wall Street is going to start pouring money in the bitcoin blockchain:

https://twitter.com/WSJ/status/915079021221773313

Wall Street Journal has huge reach, if people see that Goldman Sachs is considering buying Bitcoin, it will create a FOMO. This coupled with the recovery of the Chinese ban and Jamie Demon FUD + European fears = very bullish Bitcoin.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Is Bitcoin Gold relevant enough to raise the price of Bitcoin? on: September 28, 2017, 01:39:59 PM
Is people buying Bitcoin to get ready to get a share of free money when the Bitcoin Gold fork happens?

For these that don't know, Bitcoin Gold is another altcoin that will be crated due a hardfork on Bitcoin blockchain (similar to the Bitcoin Cash altcoin). If by the time of the split, you are holding X amount of BTC in your wallet, you will receive X amount of Bitcoin Gold. This makes Bitcoin very attractive to buy for these wanting to get free altcoins and speculate with them. I just wonder if Bitcoin Gold is relevant enough to be causing a % of the current rise. Bitcoin Gold doesn't have the propaganda machine behind it as Bitcoin Cash does since Bitcoin Cash is mostly sponsored by Roger Ver, Craig Wright, Jihad Wu, McAfee and other government agents.
9  Economy / Speculation / BTC is about to crush major resistance points (very bullish) on: September 25, 2017, 02:40:01 PM
The technical analysis sustained by most professional traders on bitcoin right now is that it was key to stay above the $3400 latest bottom as the closest resistance we had, because below that it was descent into hell. We were able to stay above that and don't cross the 300 day moving average which would have been very bad, through the weekend, and now that the market started becoming active with the start of the week, we are seeing massive bull pressure to break the $4100 key point. So keep an eye on that number if we cross it, get ready for another re-test of an all time high possible as soon as this week, which with due traction, could lead us to $6000 pretty easily.
10  Economy / Speculation / Turns out Charlie Lee was right... HODL on: September 15, 2017, 12:35:55 PM
Remember how Charlie Lee predicted the bear market due the chinese ban on the exchanges on twitter, and he was told to be a manipulator and he had to remove its tweets? I even thought he was just fucking around trying to short, but turns out that the was right, China banned the exchanges and there was a crash, but the good news is, we are too strong for any nation to stop bitcoin, we are HODLing and the price is going back up. We have been through this before. Time to kick ass.

11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Big blockers exposed: $500,000 moved with a $5 cents fee on: September 12, 2017, 11:50:39 AM

$500,000 moved with a $5 cents fee in a decentralized network thanks to conservative blocksize.

The mempool is not empty. We are nowhere near any level of usage as they are trying to make you believe (by they, I mean Roger Ver and Bitmain and whoever else is funding the unnatural spam cycles)

Stay strong, hold, and with segwit and lightning network, we will be worth $100,000+ a coin in the next decade. Avoid failing for the hardfork trap by devs trying to offer you scammy solutions like segwit2x, BCash etc.
12  Economy / Speculation / $10,000 by 2018 is looking now like a possibility on: September 11, 2017, 11:05:07 AM
More and more and more actors from the NYC agreement are dropping like flies. Now we have BTCC out of the agreement. Along with f2pool, this is a big chunk of hashrate that segwit2x lost. Bitfury will also potentially not be mining segwit2x. This would be the nail in the coffin, not even considering Bitcoin Core 0.15 is comming out soon which everyone will upgrade to.

With segwit2x out of the picture, we can hit $10,000 easily during 2018, so hold on to your coins and stop falling for the government ban nonsense.
13  Economy / Speculation / So what has China banned now? on: September 10, 2017, 10:14:12 AM
I just wake up with a price of near $4000, testing again the previous near $4000 resistance, so it double bottomed and now seems to be going up again, hopefully this is the last time it bounces back to $4000.

Is this the aftermath of the same fake chinese news? but who the hell didn't see that the news are fake yet?
14  Economy / Speculation / Panic sellers got flushed fast on: November 05, 2016, 04:30:47 PM
I feel bad for all the noobs that panic selled at the controlled dump of the other day with the china ban news. Its obvious whales wanted to get more cheap btc and shaked all the idiots out with panic, now we are back to 700+ and looking strong. Hold.

15  Other / Archival / Nice dip to buy more cheap BTC on: November 03, 2016, 06:56:04 PM
Thanks china, your dumb policies will make smart people able to stack on more BTC before the unavoidable 1000+ dollars rise. Time to buy.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / When does Zcoin launch? on: November 01, 2016, 02:49:19 PM
Im trying to understand Zcash and Zcoin, apparently they are not related, they are different coins. I have read Zcoin was supposed to launch in september 25, yet I don't see it in poloniex....

When will it be listed in poloniex? Do you think Zcoin will pump hard like Zcash?
17  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Can sidechains mimick Maidsafe features as well? on: January 29, 2016, 03:40:18 PM
There's this notion of side-chains basically deprecating everything that altcoins have to offer, including ambitious projects like Ethereum. As we have seen with Rootstock, we can have Ethereum basically using BTC thanks to sidechains. Of course I will need to see further development to fully buy in, but it's looking promising.

My question is if sidechains would allow to run something like Maidsafe, which is a mega ambitious project (older than Bitcoin) to run through BTC as well thanks to a sidechain. Let's remember that Maidsafe basically attempts to replace the entire internet into a decentralized network where apps can be built for this network and so on, and the SafeCoin would be a token that you get by giving some hard disk space to the network.

Im just wondering what devs think of Maidsafe and if in the future a sidechain could mimic it's features therefore rendering SafeCoin as a token as a yet another irrelevant altcoin. Right now Maidsafe is the only thing that isn't BTC that I consider holding long term, and maybe some XMR as well even tho Bitcoin is starting to look better and better privacy wise for the future so I may sell my XMR at some point and stay 100% BTC only.
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Anyone else used to be a big blocker but changed his mind? on: January 10, 2016, 03:28:23 PM
I remember when I was still learning the basics, when I saw the graphic that Gavin released about his BIP101 proposal and how "nicely" it scaled to Visa levels in a ton of years, I was saying "well, this looks great, why aren't we doing this yet"?

Then I started learning the details and saw how all that glitters is not gold. How things aren't black and white and there are huge tradeoffs. When I realized the top priority of Bitcoin must be decentralized nodes, I saw why a lot of people was opposed to having huge blocks. In the long term, small blocks that enable for average people to run their nodes all over the planet may be the thing that saves Bitcoin from governmental oppression. Just think about it, what scenario an attacker would prefer, a couple of datacenters per country, or a ton of random nodes spreaded all over the globe + secured through Tor? Exactly... seems clear to me. So think twice before you want bigger blocks just to pay a little bit less of fees, because the tradeoff is insane. Unless anyone has a better alternative, "conservative block size (not necessarly 1MB but conservative)" + LN remains the best way to scale our friend.
If LN fails (it will not cause Gmaxwell and the rest are working hard and doing a great job) we would always have the original Bitcoin with decentralized nodes, but if nodes were huge, we wouldn't have anything to fall back at that has remained decentralized.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Did Gmaxwell stop working on Bitcoin? on: December 25, 2015, 12:37:31 PM
I did read something somewhere the other day, about how Gmaxwell left for some reason. I would like some further details on what exactly happened.
The work by Gmaxwell is of the best i've seen in Bitcoin and I was very excited about confidential transactions, it shows he is one of the guys thats pushing Bitcoin in the right direction which is decentralization of nodes and better anonymity, it would be sad if he left the building so I hope he comes back stronger after a vacation. I refuse to believe the trolls really won the battle. We must fight till the end for this amazing project.

Apparently Bank of America no longer wants my business. They are closing all my accounts because I put too much money in them from poker???

This guy is a legend and he has made so much money that his bank wants to take it all lol. If only he was aware about Bitcoin, he could be playing for Bitcoin and dealing with his own money gains directly instead of thought banks.
