Stay tuned...BTCJam staff has been fighting me for a month. They stole my deposit, changed my deposit address (an address that I had been depositing too for over a year), and are publicly denying that they did anything wrong. They wont return, or refund it, or even begin to admit any wrong-doing. Its hysterical.
I am going to provide all of the screenshots, conversations, etc shortly. I am posting this under Scam Accusations because there really isnt a category for "Lying, incompetent BTC businesses that previously were not problematic" I am leaving this up to the mods to move this into the correct category if it isnt correct. Then I will be able to kow where to post the follow up.
Once all you guys see this, youre going to most likely pull your BTC Jam account.
IRONY: As a journalist, I was supposed to be doing a puff piece on the BTC crowd-funded loan market and was going to talk about my experience over the years with BTCjam. Since I wanted to accurately document every step to my editor, I decided to make another small deposit, invest in loans, et al and then be able to explain it to him with supporting screen grabs. Instead, they lost the deposit and have been caught in a cover up, straight out lies, and more
So Im going to wait on the mods to make sure this doesnt need to be moved into another category. If it doesnt move after a day, then Im going to put the details here in the "Scam" category; a follow up to this post
End Note: Emails from bitcointalk and BTCjam members are really what prompted me to put the details out there. Sorry for the delay. Also, I need to clear this with my editor. As long as there is no conflict - because they may decide to do the story on the ripoff - then I will publish all details here. If there is a conflict I will link to the story here.

Hello everyone, In the past, I have alerted the community to possible scams/pyramids like OurBeks.com; a company that promised daily interest rates that were just not possible. Well, here we go again. New site. New Name. Same promises. And, verbatim, the exact same FAQ that was cut and pasted from the old OurBeks.com (before they took everyone's money and closed shop) The site is bitcoin-income.com Now, just like OurBeks did, they will pay out for a little while, even be very active and attentive with customer service. Then once they build up trust, people make larger deposits, and then they cash out leaving you with nothing! So, as a test I made a public address and a small deposit. They will pay out. Its too new not to pay out. https://blockchain.info/tx/b43e8339dafe79d8ec2fc02ca315d482e279134252223cb6bf141acce85c56d5They need the trust from the community to succeed in ripping everyone off. And if they are legit then they need to earn our trust. First of all, how about not having a private registration on their site? No other investment firm or brokerage house, or single broker hides their identity. I have a few ideas as to how they can do that but I can guarantee that upon contacting them they will refuse every idea (more on that at a later time) Heres the first small deposit. remember, they are guaranteeing to pay me a daily interest of 3%. But of course, they will hold it for 10 days. (This is also just like OurBeks. The withdrawal fee was equal to about 7-8 days worth of your interest. So you really needed to leave the deposit for 9-10 days before you "earned" anything) Anyone familiar with the old OurBeks site (and I believe I screencapped and did a FreezePage on that site; I'll have to look on my other computers) will notice that they didnt even try to correct their poor English from the old site. Before more people get ripped off I think we need to call them out. Alert everyone that they are bogus. If they arent bogus then they can contact me directly and I will help facilitate a brief transparent and legally binding framework so that they can operate smoothly with our trust. They watch these forums and they also set Google alerts. So they will see this. -D PS - I already know that its the old OurBeks. With the right tools this stuff isnt hard to figure out. I dont get all my steady work as freelance journalist and investigator out of thin air

Hey folks,
Since Im always interested in new ventures in lending BTC I took a gamble with ourbeks.com. I wont get into the specifics here, all info is available on their website.
However, they originally allowed withdrawals at any time. So what I would do is make daily withdrawals (because I didnt trust them). Well, two weeks back I had a message pop up telling me "Only 3 withdraws per month allowed". Fine. But there was no warning that they were changing the policy. It was done in the middle of the night on a weekend.
So, did this mean that I would have to wait 30 days from my last withdrawal or would it reset with the next calendar month? I tried again today, 3/1, and I am still blocked.
They do not answer emails (4 sent now over two weeks). The only option is to keep trying.
Anyone looking to deposit BTC with them I would advise you to wait until I update this thread. Luckily, I did not send them anymore than I could afford to lose (1.02 BTC), and I think I just about broke even. All in all, if they never allow me to withdraw that deposit, along with interest earned recently, then its not like I bet the farm...and of course I never would anyway.
Just a heads up. And if this in the wrong section I hope the mods can relocate it.
Thanks everyone...so far, BTC Jam may be the only legit way to lend, get a return with interest, and not have to worry [as much] about losing your BTC

Hey folks, Anyone know how to contact the owners of freecrypto.co? They run a handful of faucets (mostly Altcoins but also BTC and LTC) and along with the faucets they also have a scheme of getting a lifetime multiplier on your faucet rewards. I hate seeing faucets go away so I usually donate. But in this case, I puirchased a few of their multipliers. Each transaction worked fine when I used a debit card. For the Doge faucet I paid in BTC. The payment page is supposed to refresh when the payment is confirmed. It wont confirm and there is no way to contact them on any of their many sites. Since this is a great gathering of people who know how to get in touch with various people running altcoin services I figured I would ask here. Thanks in advance. (BTW, they have a great collection of faucets. And their multipliers are a nice way to help fund the faucet while also getting something in return) PS: I have opened the Doge Faucet in a new page and tested my address and the multiplier is not activated for my address (the address I paid for a multiplier for). So, transaction wont confirm on their end (prob bc they are using blocks.io), Transaction is confirmed through btc blockchain, and multiplier wont apply to address referenced in transaction, and none of their sites have contact options, WHOIS is protected by Domains By Proxy and Cloudflare. I dont want to fire up by Kali box for $5 worth of BTC...but I certainly am tempted. -DMS Transaction: https://blockchain.info/address/3NpC5QtXZiC9KLmpjTV9hza3Fb6YJtJGAJScreen grab showing the requested amount and destination address ->

Since I made the original post below, CJS Cd Keys has 1) Addressed my problem and solved it 2) Changed the process in which they accept BTC and make your order/key available for pick-up in your account This forum works wonders. Any problems that I have had with retailers are always solved right after creating a thread here. Its not coincidence. All of them were posts made a while after all attempts to contact the sellers had failed. Coinabul finally shipped my coins within 24 hours of creating a post...an order that I had paid for 5 months prior. ...........Original Post............ Hey all, I just wanted to share my experience attempting to use Bitcoin on CJS CD Keys. [cjs-cdkeys.com] CJS advertises a random mystery Steam game key (and countless other games) for a fairly low price. Since this was only going to be around $5 USD I figured it would be fun to try. If it worked, I would have a place to shop and a fun new way of sort-of gambling CJS uses Bitpay like many other online retailers accepting Bitcoin. However, the process they implement is complicated, flawed, and I can now receive no response from their Customer Service/Zendesk application. When you try to check out it creates a Bitpay invoice. You scan the QR code and pay. Then, I thought I would be receiving my Steam key. But that is not what happens. After they take your BTC they then forward you to a page taht tells you that you have to re-add the item that you want to your cart and then select "store credit" to pay for the order. They essentially use the Bitpay transaction to credit your account...and NOT for the actual transaction. See where this is going? Nothing is attached to the transaction. Bad idea #1Transaction: https://blockchain.info/tx/d7b7537fa3d72eac32ecaf317daa9919412235c1743ec7022f444bd53cdd098bHere comes Bad idea #2: Naturally, the option to select "store credit" does not appear when I follow their instructions. There is no place on "My account" that shows an available balance. Since BTC transactions can take some time to be reflected I waited... Bad Idea #3: ZenDesk. This is the only way to contact them. Unfortunately, you "encouraged" to enter an order number so that they can help you. And if you dont enter an order #, well, that just may make it impossible. Guess what? There is no order number! You havent placed an order yet. You have only sent them BTC and now they are gone. Bad Idea #4 ZenDesk ticket: I created a ticket and waited a few days. I periodically checked the site and tried to place the order. "Store Credit" option still never appears Bad Idea #5 ZenDesk ticket expiration: I get an email from the ZenDesk account of CJS Cd Keys. It seems that the ticket has expired with no solution. But luckily, they consider it resolved!! And they consider it resolved because they DID NOT attend to it. Awkward. They encourage me to submit another ticket if it wasnt resolved and that I must include my "Order Number". [facepalm.jpg] There is no order!! I try to enter the Bitpay/BTC transaction ID and it will not accept it. Just awesome Solution: DO NOT try to pay with BTC/LTC/DOGE at CJS CD Keys (cjs-cdkeys.com) Matter of fact, I would go as far to say that you probably shouldnt order from them at all. If they couldnt take a few minutes to contact me over this extraordinarily odd procedure they have created then I have to imagine that this is how they handle all problems. Even a quick message back that said, "Be patient, we are looking into it" wouldve at least allowed me to give them the benefit of the doubt. Heck, even if they completely lost the transaction, and were honest about it, I would try it again. Seriously, I dont care all taht much about 0.006 BTC...Ive gambled away a hundred times that on a single Satoshi Dice roll. But what bothers me is 1) having a bad system and 2) ignoring people after theyve sent you money. Stay away -DMS

Hey folks, Just a heads up, I listed my 7950 from my gaming rig on Amazon. Its in great shape and it was run at the stock factory OC of 960mhz. Although card was tested and can go to 1040mhz no problem, I never ran it at that clock because I thought I was going to be keeping it an awfule long time. And instead, I decided to buy an r9 290 vapor-x. It comes with a free game from AMD's Never Settle bundle. I got 3 games free with the purchase of my new card so I am attaching one to this sale. Mines listed for $190 and it should be the second one down the list. Its the one with pictures and under username "D_M_Stewart" http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B007NG3WR2/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&condition=usedAny questions or concerns feel free to give a shout. -D

Hey folks, Just a quick post on my recent experience with the heavily promoted Satoshi Hype (satoshihype.com). We have seen these types of sites before; sites that offer an exuberant return if you just send them BTC. None actually disclose how they grow their BTC and Satoshi Hype is no different. As a matter of fact, they go as far as guaranteeing funds by means of "Bitcoin magic". If you saw the page and read the bullet points, you shouldve immediately decided against sending them any money at all. But I always get newbies asking questions about these type of sites. My "Investment" and the return the 50% ripoff:Satoshi Hype says that the minimum investment must be 0.01 or higher. Anything less is considered a donation. So I sent them 0.011 just to trigger a valid investment. https://blockchain.info/tx/9785d584b505448a92e2753c11b95f56030ae9e9b278b1df2a25f6056c11484bPayments are supposed to be automatic, every hour, for 48 hours, until your initial investment is returned along with upwards of 44% interest. This makes for the stated claim of 144% on their page, satoshihype.com. Just in case they take the page down, or change any of the info, I have provided a Freeze Page of the site as it exists as of today here --> http://www.freezepage.com/1399055166SNWHFYGRRV*Out of the 0.011 sent to Satoshi Hype, only 0.0066 was returned. Or, roughly 65% of my initial investment. *20 Automatic payments were made hourly of 0.00033 BTC instead of the promised 48 The last payment received can be viewed here: https://blockchain.info/tx/c2f494f05cf650999dff7cd814ee3ecd23e0f7c5eaa7777c0f5a3ac068ed2ad2Could the site just be having problems with their payments?Sure. But if I was running the operation I would put an update on the front page and be asking the forum moderators on all the popular sites to make my post regarding payment problems sticky so that everyone sees it. They havent done that. Do any of these sites ever "work"These sites have been popping up ever since BTC went to $5 USD per coin. I have lost track of all of the ones I have come across. The short answer is "no". The reason why the answer is "no" is because these sites can never perform for an extended amount of time. Nor do the owners intend to operate them for any significant length of time. These are severly unsophisticated Ponzi schemes that take advantage of the ease of anonymity as well as the ease of appearing transparent. Newer BTC users will see Satoshi Hype's attempt at transparency by showing you their address and transactions via Blockchain and Block Explorer. Newcomers think that that is a sign of trust. Its not. No matter how many transactions they conducted there is no site that can tell anyone how many transactions they are going to make good on in the future. The site dedicates a couple of bullet points - at the very end of the page - trying to ensure any investors that they will always have BTC to pay their investors. But just like every other similar site, they wont tell you how they do that. Do you know why? Because they do not have a method for guaranteeing your funds. Satoshi Hype didnt even try to come up with a good excuse but rather says [sic] "just call it 'Bitcoin magic'". I find that to extremely lame. If you are already planning on running a dishonest operation, why add insult to injury? At least continue the fraud and say that you have backup btc in separate wallet, as well as maybe some mining being done along with this site. But they dont. It shows just how inexperienced they are with BTC as well. Other operations that claimed to be able to pay large returns made the mistake of making those claims and real miners punched holes in their bad stories. And that is why Satoshi Hype did not make those claims. They are so poorly versed in how BTC works that they couldnt even make up a simple lie that would cover their asses Bottom line: If it sounds too good to be true, then it is. These operations pop-up and they only pay long enough to get some trust and the start of a reputation. Once that happens, and word gets out that they "actually pay" or may "be legit", more $ will flood in and then they close up shop, take the $, and disappear. If you want to grow your BTC with as little risk as possible, try lending at a place like BTC Jam. Returns of 5-10% dont sound as sexy as 144% but at least you have a much better chance at getting your money back with the stated interest. Peace -D

Just wanted to check in with members and see if anyone has ever used key4co.in - Its pretty straight forward. You send them BTC, they give you a pc video game key/DRM for Steam, Origin, Uplay, etc. My current process for buying games with BTC usually involves me purchasing an Amazon gift card from Gyft using BTC and then buying the video game key through Amazon. However, those are usually full retail price whereas this site seems to have very good (almost too good) prices. For example, right now Titanfall is about $60 everywhere...give or take $5. But on key4co.in its .07 btc, which is basically 45% off retail. And most of the game keys seem to be about half of the usual retail. Im tempted to try it but would really like some feedback from people who have used the site before. Thanks! -D

Hey guys,
Ive been running my cgminer and bfgminer on Ubuntu and Mint for a while now. Ive had Windows 8.1 on my recent gaming PC and wanted to install the two on that machine as well. However, and this is important, I am wondering if anyone else has built either one of these miners on 8.1 and if they have experienced any problems in doing so. I did not attempt to install them right away bc at the time, 8.1 was brand new and I wanted to give devs time to work out any kinks. I would like to use this box for mining because I can use MSI Afterburner whereas on any of the Linux OS's Im stuck running cards either hot or not to their full capacity.
So here are my questions/concerns:
1) Are there any common problems with installing cgminer (I may install bfgminer as well) on Windows 8.1?
2) Has anyone had any problems with any of the programs, drivers, or anything else interferring with any games or the necessary dependencies required to run games? If so, I do not want to risk it. My system runs too perfect and I dont want to ruin anything.
Thanks in advance

Here is the deal:
I am using cgminer and it has been working well for weeks.
I just added Ubuntu Unrestricted Extras and it removed libavcodec53 and libavutil51
I fired up mining ANC and it was getting its normal 500-600 kh/s on the single gpu. Now, I fired it up again and it wont go over 15kh/s, mostly staying around 10kh/s
WTF!
Can someone tell me wtf is going on and do I absolutely need to have those other dependencies for cgminer to work? I didnt have to install those to get it running

I have been cpu mining for a while. Now I finally have bought a MSI 7950 and plan on getting a second one soon. However, I am trying to get my mining software working, and more importantly, getting myself adapted to the mining software, so that when the second card is purchased I can be up and running just fine. However, there are some things that I am lost on after installing the card and firing up bfgminer.
1) My hashrate is very low. On my cpu I can get 100 kh/s. But the card is only producing 3 kh/s. From my understanding, I should be producing a couple hundred kh/s with a single card.
2) I pointed the miner at the Anoncoin mining pool anc.us.ir and bfgminer said that I had solved two blocks, produced 3 shares (all 3 rejected). Since I have been cpumining for over a year I have never solved a block, let alone at 3 kh/s. It had mentioned that the the difficulty did not match the target at the time of rejection
3) What are the settings I should be using for a single card on bfgminer?
4) Should I use cgminer or another miner?
4) Is there a bfgminer for dummies guide somewhere out there on the forums or elsewhere? I have seen some of the posts that help people but they do seem to be on a very specific topic and are definitely not for dummies like myself
Thanks

Does anyone know if Bottlecaps forked again? I sent a transaction to Cryptsy hours ago and it hasnt even popped up as a pending transaction. Usually it pops up as in incoming transaction within a few minutes

We've seen this before. Remember Mining United? Another service that promises to increase your Bitcoins as long as you send them a deposit. After a short period of time they pay you back double or triple the amount you gave them. I used Mining United for quite a few transactions. I made some BTC off of them. ANd I recommended them to everyone. Finally, my last transaction, which was my largest to date, was never returned to me. Mining United closed up shop and took everyone's BTC! Well, I just ran into this site www.cointripler.tkI have sent them 0.01 BTC and I will update this post in 20 days with results. But I cannot imagine: 1) Why they need BTC to be paid to them if they are mining 2) If they can even pay the returns they say they can Feedback on the above two points would be appreciated! -Doug

Franko was temporarily pulled from Cryptsy. I asked them via Twitter what was going on and they said that it will be back shortly.
So anyone that has incoming deposits that might be concerned should just hang tight, it will be back online in no time

I just ran into this faucet today. The owner of Bithits.info has created a DGC faucet: http://www.digihits.pw/Awesome! Since this guy has a good record of paying on his other faucet, this may be the only real DGC faucet out there. At least the first one that I came across Cheers

Hello,
I am building a gaming rig that will also be able to mine some alt coins (CAP, BBQ, etc) and I just received my MSI 7950 Twin Frozr. I plan on getting a second one. WHen I plugged all of my specs and hardware intothe Newegg PSU calculator, it said I needed 829W. Then they have a "search PSU" button. Clicked it, found a Rosewill 850W, and ordered it.
But then later I saw a lot of people saying that for 2 X 7950's you need a minimum of 1000w PSU
I was planning on undervolting them too. So I am just wondering if 850w is going to be a sufficient PSU...especially since I will need to be playing some high-end games as well
Other specs:
AMD FX 8350 DVD-RW RAM: DDR3 4 X 8gb (32gb)
Note: With just one card on New Egg's calculator it said it would be using 529W. I didnt think of it until later that an increase of 300w for an additional 7950 might not be correct
