23  Bitcoin / Hardware / TerraMiner IV Power Consumption Video on: March 07, 2014, 08:10:09 PM
Hello,

Here is my 3rd video installment covering the power usage on the TerraMiner IV by CoinTerra.  We went out and picked up another power meter so we could show the load for both PSU's  There is another video out there that covers power consumption but they didn't have both PSUs metered.  These units are great all around and they have really made it easier for the miners like myself that have to manage lots of units.

25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Need help setting up the Maxcoin Wallet for Windows? (Answer Inside) on: February 12, 2014, 07:46:40 AM
I don't know about you but this was a little difficult to figure out.  I had to work with my Linux engineer to get me up and going but then I stumbled across this video and it should really help you get the MaxcoinD.exe up and running so you can generate a wallet address and accept your Maxcoins from what ever pool you are running (I have one in the works and it will be up online, we really got some beefy hardware for it).

27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Question: BFL Rackmount 230/Gh - How many hashers in CGminer? on: January 28, 2014, 06:23:55 PM
Question:   Not sure how many people got these rack-mount units from BFL.  I wanted to know if I should see 3 or 4 hashing processes (Just like you would see one for each GPU) in CGminer per rack mount.   Right now I am seeing 3, and I want to confirm if this is correct or not?   Thanks in advance.

29  Bitcoin / Press / [2013-08-19] CNBC - Bitcoin recognized by Germany as 'private money' on: December 11, 2013, 08:29:04 PM
Note:  Not sure if this article got much attention?

Quote
Virtual currency bitcoin has been recognized by the German Finance Ministry as a "unit of account", meaning it is can be used for tax and trading purposes in the country.

Bitcoin is not classified as e-money or a foreign currency, the Finance Ministry said in a statement, but is rather a financial instrument under German banking rules. It is more akin to "private money" that can be used in "multilateral clearing circles", the Ministry said.

30  Bitcoin / Press / [2013-12-11] Barron's - Will Bitcoin Undermine the U.S. Dollar? on: December 11, 2013, 07:52:49 PM
Quote
Bitcoin, the digital currency launched in early 2009, is being accepted by an increasing number of vendors worldwide, from car dealerships and online travel-planning firms to wine merchants and charities. Even though its value has swung wildly in recent days, each bitcoin has skyrocketed in value for the year overall, climbing from around $13.50 last Dec. 31 to above $1,000 as of yesterday, according to data from bitcoincharts.com.

But will bitcoin's growing acceptance undermine the U.S. dollar? The short answer is no.

Certainly, there are investors out there who worry about the dollar, and especially how unintended consequences from easy monetary policy and massive government debt might undermine the U.S. currency. How could it be that the Federal Reserve's balance sheet has risen by more than 300% since 2008 and the dollar has not been debased?

Statement to Mining Community

This a is a fully managed hosting service to co-location your ASIC Bitcoin mining gear.  All our hardware in now INSURED.  Major news for Bitcoin miners.  Now you can rest easy when your hardware is hosted with us.  We have a specialized insurance policy that is geared towards technology companies.  As difficulty rises rapidly, people with much higher power & operating costs will be put into an untenable position with their costs possibly exceeding their mining income.  This is where our ASIC hosting comes in.  We host monthly with no contract.   Customers that pre-pay 3 or 6 months in advance will qualify for a 10% or 15% discount respectively.   We also accept USD or BTC as payment, we want to respect the miner who wants to hold on to their hard-mined coins.

We have 0.02/Kwh electricity rates which is some of the cheapest on the planet.  The hosting facility has secured access with alarm.   We just complete a full round up electrical & cooling upgrades.  My support team which includes a two Linux network engineers with over 35 years experience.  We have a fiber internet connection with multi-path for redundancy.   Fixed cages are installed to physically secure the equipment.

What I am looking for now:

PM me your email address and I will send over our hosting agreement.  We also have a referral program if you know someone who would benefit from ASIC hosting.

Final note:  We also almost have our own pool ready that will be just for our hosting clients along with my personal hardware and an arrangement with another miner.   This will be of great benefit.

35  Economy / Lending / [ANN] Distressed Mining Assets Fund on: August 20, 2013, 06:44:40 PM
Basics:

Create a fund to wait for existing mining hardware to become distress because of the large difficulty increase.   I currently own and operate a hosting facility that can handle this hardware.   Hardware would be hosted with my company and the fund would operate on the 2/20% principle.    Management fee would be 2% of principle and 20% of the profits.  The rest would be evenly distributed to participates based on their level of involvement.

If you are interested in funding this project, PM me.
36  Bitcoin / Hardware / History Lesson on BFL on: August 18, 2013, 05:07:57 PM
Re: New monarch line

I would just like to point out from different sources, that BFL has shipped about 10-15% of all there pre-orders.   If you didn't know, BFL pulled this same tactic when they announced their ASIC line when they were still months and months behind on their FPGA line (Bitforce).   With how oversold their delivery schedule is, it makes sense BFL would announce this in the face of rapidly rising difficulty.

I suspect many of there pre-order will have a negative ROI soon so they "had" to do this to give the people a distraction from the real issues.   Many may disagree but I see the same road heading to the same wall again.

39  Bitcoin / Legal / Department of Homeland Security Shuts Down Dwolla Payments to and From Mt. Gox on: May 14, 2013, 09:54:24 PM

"The DHS issued a "seizure warrant" for the funds associated with Mt. Gox's Dwolla account.

The Department of Homeland Security appears to have shut down the ability to use Dwolla, a mobile payment service, to withdraw and deposit money into Mt. Gox, a Bitcoin trading platform. A Dwolla representative confirmed the move to Betabeat. Chris Coyne, cofounder of OKCupid, posted a screenshot(url: https://twitter.com/malgorithms/status/334395559366520832) of an email he received from Dwolla, stating that due to recent orders from the Department of Homeland Security, Dwolla cannot complete the bank transfer to Mt. Is this the first shot across the bow of Bitcoin?   Many commentators have speculated that if there was regulation of Bitcoin, they would go after the exchanges first.  Another unfortunate event after the Coinlab lawsuit.

What do you think?

40  Bitcoin / Hardware / [Groupbuy] ASICMiner - Block Erupter Blades - Hosting and Managment - U.S.A on: May 13, 2013, 05:49:13 PM
(05/13/13) Today ASICMiner listed their BlockErupter blades (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=204030.0) for BTC49.99 (with volume discounts).   I am opening a GroupBuy for these blades with management fee (9%) and hosting.   I currently am hosting managing a number Avalon Batch #2 & #3 machines for myself and other clients.

Our phase to plan is to relocated the hosting operation from Seattle power rates to very cheap power rates in Eastern Washington.  Once we get enough commitments then the new space will be opened.  {url: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=186559.0}

Please send me a PM with a email I can contact you at and if you are interesting in purchasing some blades through this Groupbuy.  The amount you want to purchase would be helpful. Also if you just need hosting and management, contact me as well and indicate it.

Cheers,
Dalkore
