Bitcoin / Project Development / [ANN][IDEA][STARTUP] Waphy, a new concept of hard wallet (We need your feedback!
|
on: June 21, 2017, 09:42:13 PM
|
Hi Folks, we’re posting this in order to get your feedback about the product we’re developing. We have more or less everything solved at a tech level. We want to know what you think and if any of you would invest in this product!!! Introduction Waphy Vault is a device with wifi connectivity which, when connected to your home network, allows you to make secure transactions with Bitcoin or other cryptos. The hard wallet can be managed from any device from the same local network but will always require confirmation from a paired app to make it sign a transaction. This makes it even more secure, since private keys never leave the device, but to make a transaction you would need to control two devices, your secured mobile and the computer he is using. You can imagine it as a server, which is accessible only at home, guarding your private keys, and in which we have inserted an ui similar to blockchain.info. The product is designed for true nocoiners. Beginners who do not understand bitcoin and will not swallow the "blockchain introduction". People who, in order to start using cryptos just need an extremely simple and intuitive device that protects them from risks that they do not even have to know. So, once your Waphy is connected, users will see a familiar environment which looks just like online banking, and a similar way of operating. Waphy Vault setup - Waphy Vault comes in a format similar to a pendrive but uses the USB connector only to power it (not for data transmission).
- When unboxing it, the user is asked to download a mobile APP in order to start the device.
- The app detects the device and asks the user to select the home network and enter the password.
 - Waphy vault creates all the secrets needed to manage communications and shares them with the app
- The app asks the user to enter a pin code to access his Waphy Vault app.
- The device now asks the user to put an NFC card (included) to backup the seed that will generate its different addresses, and the configuration, encrypted with the password
- he typed before. The NFC card has a data retention up to 100 years.
- The device asks the user to write down the 12 to 24 words of his private key in a fancy piece of paper (included)
- Waphy Vault now connects to the router.
- Waphy Vault now starts its webserver and makes the "https: //waphy.local" web accessible from the lan.
- Waphy can be left on or off. If it remains on, it will reject any connection from outside the local network.
Important notes:- Although the router usually has its ports closed and filters connections from the outside, Waphy Vault also prevents connections from outside the local network.
- Waphy Vault uses the home Wi-Fi network so that all Wi-Fi devices in the home can be securely paired to pay with the wallet. In the future we believe that this will enable other domestic appliances to be authorized to pay with cryptos by delegating authentication / confirmation to the strategy defined in the device. Ex, the washing machine buying energy.
User Interface- To enter the user interface you have to write an OTP that is shown on the mobile app.
- The user interface will be extremely simple, with only 3 possible operations in version 1.0, Send transactions, Receive transactions and View transaction history.
- It will show both, the amount of coins you have and the price of those in local currency in real time.
- Later, we will add services via partners (for example, link a debit card that is loaded with bitcoins). (This is the main business model, not selling the device itself)
- When sending a transaction from a device, for example your computer, you will have to open the mobile app in which the transaction will be detailed (in order to double check what you are sending). A 6-character alphanumeric string is also shown. This string must be entered on the device that generated the transaction for the Waphy Vault to sign (your computer). Then the device signs the transaction and broadcasts it.

Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Reduce Block Size Limit
|
on: May 19, 2015, 03:43:29 PM
|
It is so cool to have a reduced limit, that i would propose to reduce it. Miners would be as happy as a rainbow.
It seems to me that they don't believe in market forces, also that they think that with a reduced size limit (scarcity) their profit is higher. They are failing to see that transactions are being made outside the blockchain due that limit, so they are losing fees. Anyway, reduce it and they will see.
But of course they won't agree either, so ask them: is it 1mb a magical number? Why is it the correct size? Of course in a free block economy market forces would determine the correct amount, but that is soooo risky...

Local / Tablica ogłoszeń / Looking for help to stablish a bitcoin exchange in Poland.
|
on: July 15, 2013, 10:08:13 AM
|
We're developing a high speed bitcoin exchange, but the regulations in our country are hostile to our business. We've noticed that both bitcoin-24.com and mtgox had bank accounts in Poland, so we think that maybe Poland is a bitcoin friendly jurisdiction. We're looking for help/advice and maybe collaboration to start the business there. anyone?

Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Sendmany... change to be returned to the same address that sending?
|
on: May 28, 2013, 04:27:43 PM
|
Is this possible? (I am using PHP) I want to send a transaction using the sendmany from one output to many inputs, but if there's some change to be returned, the bitcoind creates a new bitcoin address and sends there the amount. I want this address to be the same as the one that is sending the bitcoins. Just like blockchain.info does. How can i do this? I'm trying to calculate how much the change is going to be in order to add this amount as a transaction to be sent to my own address, In order to do this, and calculate how much fees is the daemon going to add... i'm following this link... but i don't see if this approach would be the best.

Local / Español (Spanish) / Unión Editorial aceptará bitcoins!! Leed para más info!!!
|
on: May 22, 2013, 05:07:51 PM
|

Bitcoin / Project Development / [PATH] On How to create an decentralized exchange
|
on: April 13, 2013, 09:20:42 AM
|
There's nothing more decentralized than notes and coins... everybody has some in their pockets. So my guess is that to make a decentralized exchange engine what you need is to create an app that, installed into a mobile, allows shops to become exchange houses.
To make this possible the idea is to reduce it to the simple: the app would only report succesfull transactions into a p2p network. And would have the ability to calculate the (average) price from all reported transactions.
END.
Then we can develop solutions to connect to that p2p network and exctract the price, draw charts or whatever...
With this done... you would go downstairs to a bar, and buy some bitcoins.
Remember: When you sell bitcoins, you send them to a bitcoin address, which in this case is shown by the app, that's how it tracks a succesful transaction, and reports it to the network.

Economy / Trading Discussion / Initiative to help Simon Hausdorf to clear things @ bitcoin-24 <-- SIMON READ IT
|
on: April 12, 2013, 09:57:16 PM
|
I really think it is a bad idea to talk with the Police at this point of the story. First, because that would make this last forever, second because that would lead to the seizure of all the IT equipment so the private keys of the cold storage might get compromised. So our best option is to let Simon work, and help him if possible. What i think Simon should do is to take the time to comunicate with us and explain: - What happened.
- What happens now
- Main problems he's facing to fix things up
- How can we help
- How long is it going to take to withdraw funds and how can we speed this up.
Now, being said that the use of the force might not be the best option right now (calling the cops)... I think we could help Simon if we tell him - Our username
- The balance we remember.
- The active orders we had
- And if required, our password so he can log in as the user and check our account.
Then, after withdrawing funds, he could close our account, or mark it as processed. Afterwards we will need to lead with 2 other problems: - First, the transactions that were sent to the engine and the engine didn't detect.
- And second, the transactions to were sent to users with excesive funds.
I would start with the second issue, and, because he has all the transactions logs and identified all users (And because he only sent what was on the hot wallet) he could kindly send these users an email asking for the funds. And exposing them if they don't collaborate. And of course, if you know that you have funds that doesn't belong to you, you can post here your intention to refund them. Simon, think that you can work with us. And we can fix this working all together. Hope you like the idea. P.S. There are at least 18079+ BTC in control of Simon Hausdorf. And all mistakes were in favour of the customers (not his own), so be helpful and have faith.

Economy / Trading Discussion / MtGox how can you call success what just happened with your crappy engine?
|
on: April 11, 2013, 07:23:55 AM
|
Yesterday, after waiting 1 hour for the 6 confirmations, i put an order at 180€ which didn't work, then tryied to put another at 160€ which didn't work either. I couldn't cancel orders because the cancel button was broken. THE WHOLE ENGINE WHAS FUCKED UP. I withdraw funds and sended to bitcoin-24 which worked just fine when i finally sold at 101€
I LOST 8+ BITCOINS DEALING WITH YOUR ENGINE... and now your update says that my lost is consecuence of your own success?
If the system was just lagging why didn't you put a "DON'T PANIC, WE'RE RUNNING SLOW" SIGN??... or maybe close for maintenance???
My lost is consecuence of your own incompetence and of course mine for trusting your service: That will never happen again.
And the 1000+ seconds lag is not something that just happened yesterday, it is very very very common to see lag in your system. Bitcoin confidence was compromised -AGAIN BECAUSE OF MTGOX-. Yeah, huge success. We're news now.
MtGox is just a joke. What we need are more exchanges, and of course a decentralized system to get rid of you.
