G'day everyone! I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone for helping me and my new Wife when shit hit the fan a couple of months back. Here are the thread links... I've been hacked, and now I'm screwed (Can anyone help with a loan?) Got hacked, need 14BTC, will offer TheBitcoinMuseum and contents as collateral. I got hacked, MUSEUM HAS BEEN SAVED! THANKS EVERYONE FOR YOUR KINDNESS!!! I would like to tell everyone that everything worked out fantastic! With the Wedding, the Honeymoon and meeting my Bone Marrow Recipient Mike. The wedding was a ball. Nothing extravagant and done on a budget. Here are some pictures... (Can any of you see what pen we used to sign our marriage certificate?) Then it was off to the United States! The first thing I see off the plane is a man I donated bone marrow (Stem Cells) to a few years ago. His name is Mike Ohler and he had leukaemia in 2007. I knew I was going to be meeting him whilst on the honeymoon, but my new Wife had organised for him to surprise me at LAX airport. I was so completely stunned when I met him. He shed quite a few tears and so did I. We saw a few sights and then we Met up with him and his family at their place. The meeting was covered by CBS Los Angeles. Click here to see the CBS News Story and Interview I need you guys to know that I knew about this interview WEEKS before the Wedding and the actual meeting itself. I had been SHITTING MYSELF over the fact I was going to be a news story watched my MILLIONS, more than the actual wedding itself! It was an emotional meeting. So many tears were shed, and so many hugs were received. I met his family, and many of his friends from the "Knights of Columbus" He does so much volunteer work! Here are a few pictures of Mike and his family. I gotta say that if ANYONE in the world was worth saving, it was Mike. Such a great family! My Local Newspapers covered the story too after seeing the CBS report on my Wife facebook feed. After spending a weekend with Mike and his family we went to Disneyland, Universal Studios and other various sites around LA. Then we went to vegas to watch Penn & Teller, and goto a Star Trek convention. I got to meet SO MANY of my favourite stars! Noella was chatting with this chick in the toilet at the Star Trek Convention. When they walked out we walked and talked with her about this and that. After she left, Noella asked "who was that?" I nearly slapped her, cuz it was Marina Sirtis! She is one funny chick. It would be interesting to party with her I recon One a side note Richard Kiel was there. Sadly he passed away a few days ago RIP Richard Kiel Met Penn & Teller Went to a few Vegas places. Finally before we left the USA, we met up with my best man and his GF. We Spent Noella's 38th Birthday at Medievil Times. This is my Cable Guy impression. ...and then back to reality. We arrived back home early August. I've been back nearly a month and I've been SO busy working off the Honeymoon and Wedding. I have a few IOUs to take care of (These people are my saviors!) I've jumped on here not to show off, but to thank each and everyone of you who showed support when I lost my savings. I will be in contact with the lenders shortly to begin paying back. I also owe a few people replies to PMs. Don't worry I haven't forgotten about you! I still have 155 unread e-mails to take care of. This is why I don't take holidays, too much work to do when I get back! It was an amazing adventure, and I hope you guys realise that the bitcoin community isn't all just scammers. [RARE ITEMS] I got hacked, I'm now forced to take offers on RARE Museum items A lot of people here are talking about negativity and cynicism in these forums. Some of them are correct. The VAST MAJORITY of people here have been incredibly supportive. Like a GIANT AMOUNT OF YOU! I have gotten some of the usual "should done this, hack was your fault etc" but that is to be expected in this community. With so many smart people here trying to get their message across sometimes people can feel overwhelmed by the information. It's rarely ever hostile. MANY MANY more of you guys have PM'd me, e-mailed me, offered loans and offered so much support and messages of love. February 2014 - Noella's boss stressed her out until we lost the baby, and then fired her. He pretended to help her find other work until the 2 week wrongful termination statute ran out. Living in a small town centered around tourism and hospitality, and he's got his fingers in many pies. March 2013 - I then started to get bullied by my boss (who is mates with Noella's old boss). I'd previously gotten several employee awards and Employee of the Month awards, so I was confused as to why I was getting harassed. I'm able to tough it out anyway. May 2013 - Noella was finally able to find work in the one place in town her old boss didn't have influence. An adult shop. Not the ideal place to work. But, a job is a job. We managed to get by. I was only just able to keep working even though a spine and bone disease that was making it more and more painful to work. April 2014 - Noella gets a chest infection and is fired from her job when she goes to Hospital after she develops Pneumonia. She has no recourse as she was getting paid cash in hand (she's not on the books) May 2014 - My bone issue has gotten to a point where I'm no longer able to work 50hrs per week. I've had to cut it down to 32hrs a week, and that is only possible with the help of Mr Tramadol and Miss Lyrica. I have to use my walking stick more often. I'm only 32 for God's sake!! On the funny side my mates call me Dr House now I'm only brave enough to use the stick at home. Fastforward to now and I thought I had just enough savings to get us through to the wedding and honeymoon. I've been slowly saving since early last year for this wedding, but I keep getting scammed. I lost money with Thydra13's group buy (BTC30) I lost money to WeXchange (BTC10) I lost BTC2 to another scammer (Darktongue) I made a total of BTC6 from selling BitcoinNerd items on my Museum page over the last 2 years. That's all gone! This was the last straw. I'm now fucked. I'd only just transferred a 95% of my savings out of cold wallets to turn into fiat this week to pay for the last of the wedding/honeymoon. So badly timed. The wedding is/was only a cheap one. None of my parents can afford to help since Dad got lymphoma. The mrs really really wanted to go to Disneyland on our honeymoon.
