1  Economy / Gambling discussion / Which one would you follow, sharp money or public money? on: September 08, 2024, 02:34:44 PM
For seasoned sports bettors, I'm sure they understand this as it's essential for determining the value of the odds available for a given game. They say that public money comes from bettors who often decide based on emotions and tend to lose most of the time, while sharp money comes from professional sports bettors whose outcome is often opposite to public money.

So which side do you follow or have followed based on your gambling experience so far?
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Finding Value ( sports betting) on: August 31, 2024, 02:07:34 PM
I read an article that says in order to win in sports betting in the long run, we need to find value before making a bet. This means we don't need to bet on all the games available because we can't find value in all of them. Since it requires careful analysis based on the information available, it's impossible to analyze every game available for betting. Therefore, it's important to limit the number of bets and make sure that all the bets we make are well-studied so we can come out ahead in the long run.

If you believe in this, from your personal perspective, how do you find value?
3  Other / Off-topic / Share your stories on how do you get addicted in gambling? on: August 11, 2024, 09:29:00 PM
This is for the gamblers who have been addicted to gambling before. Please share your stories here so we can learn from them and avoid getting addicted ourselves. Also, let us know how you overcame your addiction and how you are managing yourself now while gambling.
4  Local / Pamilihan / Meron bang naglalaro ng scatter dito? Panuorin! on: July 31, 2024, 06:26:42 AM
Dating milyonarya, ibinenta ang ari-arian matapos malulong saScatter?! | Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho

5  Economy / Gambling discussion / Have you played with the POGO? on: July 25, 2024, 04:16:45 AM
POGO has been a hot issue in the Philippines recently due to crimes related to its operation. I was surprised to learn that there was already a documentary about this three years ago, but the government seemed not to have taken the right action. Now, it seems they are considering banning the operation due to the mentioned reasons.

From a financial aspect, POGO brings in billions of pesos to the Philippines through taxes, so it's hard to let this go. However, these crimes are no longer tolerable, and they have tarnished the country's reputation. There are also rumors that other countries, particularly China, have sent spies to the Philippines since POGO is operated by Chinese people.

You can watch this documentary, The Deadly World Of Philippines' Offshore Gambling Syndicates | Undercover Asia | CNA Documentary

So question is, have you played with these casinos before. They have this live dealers which are also available in other casinos that are popular in the forum, I'm thinking maybe they are providing those.
6  Economy / Gambling discussion / Do you set a specific bankroll before gambling or not? on: June 16, 2024, 01:39:09 PM
"Bankroll" is usually a term used in sports betting. From what I've read in some of the threads here, we need to be disciplined in managing our bankroll, typically betting only 5% to 10% per wager. So I'm curious: do bettors here really set up a bankroll first before they start gambling, or do they just gamble whenever they have available money?

Please share your experience whether positive or negative and what you learn from it.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Are you willing to bet $50 spin for a chance to win $42 million? on: January 06, 2024, 02:52:33 PM
This thread is inspired by the thread created by sportsbet.io about a lucky bettor who won $42 million on a $50 spin.

So let's discuss. This kind of win can be compelete considered based on luck, and the winner is so lucky that he hit the Jackpot. However, since the goal here is $42 million and you can only win that if you would bet $50 for one spin. So, do you have the courage to do that?
8  Economy / Gambling discussion / What gives high winning percentage for you, spread or total? on: December 28, 2023, 07:29:02 AM
Every time I bet on sports, I usually focus on the moneyline and spread. Sometimes, I also bet on the total, over/under.  As a gambler who aim to be profitable in the long run, which of these two are you more comfortable betting with? And please explain the reason behind.

Also, please state the game you are betting so we have some hint on what strategy work in a specific game.
9  Local / Pamilihan / Bitcoin Mixers industry illegal na ba talaga? on: November 30, 2023, 12:22:30 PM
Just saw this news about one of the mixers being promoted in the forum getting siezed by the FEDS!

Feds seize Sinbad crypto mixer allegedly used by North Korean hackers

Quote
As part of an international law enforcement investigation, the FBI and the Dutch Financial Intelligence and Investigation Service have seized the websites of a crypto mixer that was allegedly used by North Korean hackers and several cybercriminals to launder stolen funds and obfuscate transactions.

On Wednesday, the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), the government’s department that administers and enforces sanctions against foreign people and organizations, announced that it had sanctioned Sinbad, a Bitcoin mixer that “serves as a key money-laundering tool” for the Lazarus Group, a prolific hacking group widely believed to be working for the North Korean government.

OFAC said in a statement that the Sinbad crypto mixer processed “millions of dollars’ worth of virtual currency from Lazarus Group heists,” including part of the proceeds from the massive 2022 hacks of Horizon Bridge and Axie Infinity, which resulted in $100 million and $625 million, respectively.

Hindi lang ito ang unang mixers na na seize pero kung merong na close, meron namang bagong mag ooperate, parang recycle lang talaga ang nangyayari. Kinatatakutan ko is baka balang araw wala na talagang mixers na mag exist. Anong say ninyo didto?

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / $300 Million Crypto Scam in India. on: November 09, 2023, 03:18:07 AM
This is yet another major scam that's been making the headlines recently. According to the news, this scam apparently kicked off back in 2018, probably during the crypto market's bullish phase in 2017 and early 2018. What's hard to believe is that the people behind it are only getting nabbed now, which might have something to do with the involvement of some government officials.

Quote
Authorities Are Involved
The perpetrators primarily sold investments linked to a local cryptocurrency called Korvio Coin (KRO coins). They also reportedly sold several other cryptocurrencies through fake websites. At least one of those cryptocurrencies was a rug pull, as the developers abandoned the project after receiving the investment.

Four police officers are among the most recent individuals who have been arrested.

I think that even when a certain country is regulating crypto, crypto education remains crucial. The truth is, it's not limited to that country; even here in the Philippines, we're dealing with a surge of crypto scams. While what happened is absolutely unacceptable, hopefully, it will teach people to stay vigilant against investment scams in the crypto world. The coin they're talking about here is KRO Coins or Korvio Coin. I checked it on CoinMarketCap and it's not listed there. So, it seems these scams mainly target Indians since it's only recognized as a local cryptocurrency.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Shame on haters for claiming that crypto is widely used in terrorist financing! on: October 25, 2023, 05:44:30 AM
It's a fact that cryptocurrencies are sometimes used for terrorist financing and other illicit purposes, but that doesn't necessarily make crypto the primary player in such activities. According to Chainalysis, only "1% of the entire crypto market is involved in illicit activity." This is because there are alternative sources for these funds that are much larger than the crypto space.

Quote
Militant groups use different methods to move money, including cash, banks, shell companies and charities, and informal financial networks. Crypto is a small part, experts say.

So how dare they blaming it all in crypto?

Additional information related to that ;

WHAT ABOUT OTHER FORMS OF ILLICIT FINANCE?
Terrorist financing is a small part of the illicit uses of crypto, which include scams, ransomware and theft.

Crypto crime hit a record $20.1 billion in 2022, Chainalysis said, calling this a lower bound estimate. That figure excludes when cryptocurrencies are the proceeds of non-crypto crimes such as payment for drugs.

Cryptocurrency theft via cyber attacks is also a significant source of funding for North Korea, according to UN reports.

Some banks in the UK have curbed customers' access to crypto because of a rise in crypto scams.

Also, the article pointed out that setting up a cryptocurrency wallet is a piece of cake, and it's pretty tricky to trace the owner, even though all transactions are right there on the blockchain, which is like a permanent public record. To dig up who's behind it all, they'd need an account on one of those fancy, government-regulated 3rd party exchanges. That way, the government can just tell them to cooperate with the investigation. But here's the catch, those sneaky terrorists probably already know this stuff and might be one step ahead, making it harder for the government to trace them. Sure, the exchange can freeze the funds, but finding out who owns that wallet? Now that's the real challenge.

13  Economy / Gambling discussion / Crawford vs Canelo-Charlo winner (no date yet) on: August 20, 2023, 10:25:50 AM
In an interview on the Joe Rogan show, Terence Crawford expressed his desire to become a three-time undisputed champion and revealed his plan to move across three weight divisions to potentially face the victor of the Canelo vs Charlo bout. If this scenario indeed unfolds, I'm curious to know whom you're supporting to win. Please feel free to share your insights on this matter.

15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Do you think if DOGE will pump like this if it was not listed in Binance? on: May 08, 2021, 08:48:38 PM
I was just thinking about DOGE since it's the hottest altcoin at the moment, so I came up with this scenario, what if DOGE was not listed in Binance, will it pump like this big? Which is more influential, Elon or Binance?
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / 90% chances if a coin is listed in Binance it has a good potential on: April 30, 2021, 09:39:42 PM
Based on what I noticed this bull run, the majority of the coins that have a good pump this season are those that are listed in Binance, so I come to the conclusion that we should only invest in coins that are listed in this exchange for us to have a chance to maximize our profit.

What's your take on this, am I right or wrong?

Share your opinion.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / I saw threads coming up when BNB reach the top 3. on: March 04, 2021, 10:09:44 PM
I feel there's a little love for Cardano here, it replaced BNB at the top 3 and was still stable at that rank for awhile.
What do you think, I know both are good investments, but if you will choose which coin you'll invest heavily, which one of the two?

Currently rank https://coinmarketcap.com/

4-ADA
5-BNB
18  Economy / Speculation / Bitcoin will not reach $50,000 on: February 14, 2021, 11:26:12 AM
I realized that the market would be more interesting if bitcoin will not reach $50,000 at this bull run.

Just like the last bull run, bitcoin did not reach $20,000 and the price corrected hard.
So I'm thinking maybe it could happen this time and we will call it " bull run over" while watching the price dump.

What do you think ?
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / XPR withdrawal in Binance on: February 10, 2021, 07:28:23 AM
So I was having this issue, I trade my BUSD to XRP then try to withdraw it but I have this prompt.

Part of my balance was frozen, what does it mean? and how long will I have to wait until I can withdraw all my XRP?
20  Economy / Speculation / Would you call it a success if bitcoin will stay at least $10,000 this year? on: May 08, 2020, 11:42:02 PM
Bitcoin has been very unpredictable, it has dump to its dip this year before it rally to be back at $10,000 again.
Although that price is not stable yet because we are still below $10,00 now, but then the percentage of increase from the dip is already good enough, maybe some investors already taking profit right now, but can we still expect a rise from here and what do you think the price by the end of the year?

will bitcoin drop below $10,000 or will be price at least $10,000... what's your thoughts?
