1  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] AntMiner S1 & S2 Coupons: $400 off S2 for $200, .05btc off S1 for .02btc on: May 10, 2014, 04:48:55 PM
Edit: I see that someone else tried doing this about a week ago with many negative responses.  If you do not trust me or think this is a good idea then please kindly ignore this post.

I have a large amount of AntMiner S1 and S2 coupons on my BITMAIN account and don't plan on using them all myself so I'm wondering if anyone is interested in buying them.  They are not transferable so I must create your order on my account. (I realize there are trust issues here)

I have 0.05 BTC discount coupons for the AntMiner S1 and will sell these for 0.02 BTC each, so you basically get a free 0.03 BTC discount.

I also have $400 discount coupons for the AntMiner S2 and will sell these for $200 worth of BTC each (no PayPal, sorry), so you basically get a free $200 discount.

Two options for payment depending on how well you trust me. Wink
1. You pay me for the coupon and send me your address, I create the BITMAIN order with your address and forward you the BITMAIN invoice with payment address.  You pay the amount of the miner directly to BITMAIN.  Risk is that you don't pay within 1 hour of the order being created and the order is canceled.  In this case I refund you if I can get the coupon back from BITMAIN.

2. You pay me for the total price of the product after coupon price + my fee for the coupon and tell me your shipping address.  I place the order with your money.  Risk is that I'm a scammer and take your money without placing the order.  I know I'm not a scammer but you might not know that, so the issue is trust.

Not willing to accept escrow since I need your money to pay for the order.  I haven't been super active recently but have resold USD dualminers here with a good rep a while back and also have a 100% feedback rating + top rated status on eBay: http://feedback.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=mittynuke&ftab=AllFeedback

Please email me, matt@doonstack.com, if you are interested.  Include the product(s) you want (S1 and/or S2), quantities, your shipping address (name + address + phone number), and whether you prefer to pay me the full amount (preferred option unless you plan on staying online until I send you the BITMAIN order) or just the amount to buy the coupon. (you must pay the BITMAIN order within 1 hour of me sending it to you if you opt for the latter)

Thank you!

5  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] Avalon 2 Hashing Module Board (just 1 of 4 boards, not whole module) on: March 03, 2014, 04:34:28 PM
I bought a 2nd gen Avalon (not the official Avalon 2) from Bit-Tech in the group buy forum and one of the four boards on one of the hash module has a burned component and the overall unit hashrate is about 50 GH/s lower than rated.  Bit-Tech refuses to send me replacement components and will not respond to my messages so I'm wondering if anyone else is selling Avalon components and has one of these in stock.

I'm just looking for one of the hashing module boards- essentially 1/4 of a 55nm Avalon gen 2 hash module minus the heatsink or any other parts.

Please PM if you have one.. thanks!

7  Economy / Digital goods / [All Gone!] AMD Game Coupons on: February 02, 2014, 09:22:29 PM
Update 5:35 PM EST: All gone!  No codes left Sad

Just doing a bit of cleaning around the apartment and I found some game coupons from GPU purchases made sometime last year.  It says they expired on Jan 31, 2014 but I just tried entering one of the codes on the AMD redemption site and it seemed to work so I figure I may as well see if anyone is interested.

I have the following:
3 0 coupons for Bioshock Infinite and Crysis 3
3 0 coupons for Bioshock Infinite, Crysis 3, and Farcry 3 Blood Dragon
(6 0 coupon codes total, maybe minus one if it counted the one I entered to test)

PM me if you want one of them.  I can also mail the coupon to you if you really want and are willing to pay postage.

Note that it seems AMD has changed the redemption program where they let you choose from a new selection of games rather than being limited to the games above.  I tried entering one of the codes and they gave me the following choices to choose from (up to 3 of them):
  • Hitman Absolution
  • Sleeping Dogs
  • Deus Ex Human Revolution
  • Dirt 3
  • Thief

I didn't complete the checkout process with the code I tested so I hope it didn't consider it spent, but if it did then I have one fewer coupon to offer.

10  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] New Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7950 for 3 BTC (Brand New, unopened) on: June 12, 2013, 01:21:54 AM
I'm selling a brand new, never opened Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950.
Model GV-R795WF3-3GD; this is the one you can get 600+ khash/sec scrypt mining with correct configuration/overclocking.  (instructions for this)
I don't know its BTC/SHA256 mining performance but I'd assume it's around 600 MH/s with correct configuration.

Amazon for info/specs: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007581QHG/

Price is 3.00 BTC - I'd prefer BTC (vs. fiat) for this sale.

I will take reputable escrow if you pay any fees. (of course escrow is optional. :p )

Standard shipping to continental US is included; anything else (Priority, overnight, etc. or international) is at your expense.
USPS Priority is an additional US $15 in BTC.
International is about US $40-60 extra in BTC. (depends on the country)

11  Economy / Computer hardware / [SOLD] BFL Singles (FPGA) for 9.5 BTC each on: May 11, 2013, 08:47:31 PM
I'm looking to sell some of my BFL FPGA Singles:

9.5 BTC per Single, which includes:
 - FPGA Single (768-896 MH/s)
 - Power brick with US plug
 - USB Cable
 - USPS Priority (2-3 day) shipping to the continental US.  Shipping anywhere else will be extra.

All units sold.

I can accept BTC (9.5 BTC) or Dwolla ($1100); I'm currently having some issues with PayPal so I unfortunately can't accept them. (apparently selling mining hardware is now against their terms of service - see my post here)

I'm okay with escrow, provided you pay any escrow fees.

PM/post if interested.

Thanks!
12  Economy / Trading Discussion / Apparently PayPal can no longer be used to buy/sell Bitcoin mining hardware on: May 11, 2013, 08:29:52 PM
Over the past week I've been selling BFL Singles (FPGA) on eBay until today I got the following email from PayPal. (below)

TL;DR:
Quote from: Email from PayPal
PayPal may not be used to sell e-currency, such as bitcoins, bitcoin mining units, and other related bitcoin products.

This is news to me, as I'm pretty sure Butterfly Labs has been taking in millions of $ via PayPal, along with all the sales facilitated through these forums.  My PayPal account was actually locked yesterday due to someone paying me as a "gift" transaction (I didn't request this- he just sent it that way) and I called them and explained what I was selling, showed them a few PayPal transactions where I purchased the BFL Singles to prove that they weren't stolen, and had my account unlocked.  I even called eBay and had my selling limit increased and told the customer support rep that I was selling bitcoin mining hardware.

So take it as a warning- be careful if you use PayPal for anything related to Bitcoin.  I currently have thousands of USD locked up in PayPal that I can't get to; if this isn't a good reason for the use of Bitcoin then I don't know what is. Wink  Unfortunately it's still not easy to pay everyday expenses in BTC. :/

13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Litecoin: 1x to 16x PCI-E extenders, CPU question on: April 26, 2013, 02:17:38 AM
I'm consdering building a litecoin mining rig.  I know that you can use 1x to 16x PCI-E extenders for BTC mining rigs but I also know that LTC is more intensive on GPUs, so I'm wondering if a 1x to 16x extender will decrease perfomance.

Also, do you need a decently powered CPU for a litecoin rig?  Will the cheapest Celeron or cheapest single-core Sempron work?

Any advice is appreciated... thanks!

P.S. Sorry if this is the wrong forum or if these questions are answered elsewhere.  I tried a quick search and didn't find anything.
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / BFL Single problems (electrical issue?) on: April 22, 2013, 05:11:18 AM
My mining rig consists of 37 BFL singles (FPGAs), and I seem to be having a lot of stability issues recently.

For the most part the rig is stable, but every once in a while one or two units start repeatedly giving me "invalid nonce - HW error" in bfgminer which decreases their hashrate based on accepted down to 400-500 MH/s (opposed to 800 MH/s) or sometimes lower.  Sometimes units do this and then die completely, despite firmware reflashes, requiring me to send the broken units back to BFL to be repaired.

I already tried reflashing the firmware (slower, faster, pretty much tried a bunch of them) on each problem unit, replaced USB cables with new ones, tried using a different computer as mining host, plugged them into different USB hubs, made sure temperatures are okay, and took units out of the cases to improve airflow.

Yet the "invalid nonce" problem keeps coming back :/

I feel like I've ruled out almost everything, but one thing that's really bothering me is that I think my apartment has an electrical grounding issue.  I'm running these units in the basement of my apartment.  I ran 4 new 120v 20a circuits to power the miners, have a UPS attached to each circuit, and have relatively balanced the BFLs across the circuits.  Each circuit has a GFCI receptacle to comply with electrical code regarding outlets in unfinished basements.  I'm pretty sure I wired the circuits correctly, but sometimes I get shocked when touch the case of the mining host computer or the ends of USB cables while standing barefoot on the cement basement floor.  I also noticed that I get a slight shock if I plug my laptop in to one of the mining circuits with its 2-prong (ungrounded) power adapter.

I checked and the voltage from the neutral to ground conductors on each circuit is minimal (less than 1v), leading me to believe that the circuits are wired correctly.  I did occasionally measure a voltage from my hand while standing barefoot on the basement floor to the neutral connector though, leading me to believe the house is improperly connected to physical ground.

The ground bus bar in the circuit breaker panel for my apartment is attached to the neutral of the service entrance, and to a copper wire which is attached to the incoming copper water pipe for the house.  I don't know if there's a grounding rod outside.

All the FPGAs and host computers are physically located on a plastic shelf which sits on the concrete basement floor.  Everything in the basement is wired to the new circuits which I installed, however the host computer is hooked up to the network via a cable I ran up to my room in my apartment upstairs.  The network switch upstairs is connected with a 2-prong wall wart but connected to a circuit which I think is properly wired.

Other observations:
1) I see interference/static on the VGA monitor attached to the host computer.  I am using a 15' VGA cable so this could also be a factor though.
2) It recently rained and it seems like the nonce errors went away for a couple days, only to return today.  (a couple days after the rain).  Maybe the ground being wet improved the electrical ground resistance?

I know this is a strange problem, and may not even be the cause of my BFL issues.  These units seem somewhat poorly built and unstable in general, but I'm just trying to rule out any factors that could be my fault since BFL is probably going to very quickly get fed up with me asking them to fix my broken units.

Also does anyone know how I could improve the quality of the ground connection for the house?  I want to avoid having to call an electrician or complain to my landlords as my landlords have been very lenient with regards to letting me do pretty much whatever I want so I try to not bother them.

TL;DR I think my place has electrical grounding issues; seems like the actual ground is at a different potential than circuit ground/neutral.  Would this cause problems when running BFL singles?

Thank you in advance for any help/advice!
15  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] BFL FPGA Singles! on: April 02, 2013, 05:17:25 PM
I'm once again in the market for a couple of BFL FPGA Singles... offering $550/device, can pay with BTC, PayPal (preferred), Dwolla, maybe something else?

PM with offers!
16  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTS] BFL SC Single Preorders: #11914, 12218, 12619 on: March 21, 2013, 04:20:01 PM
Hey everyone,

I have pre-orders for four BitForce Single SC 60 GH/s units that I'm considering selling.

#11914: 1x Single SC - Placed on October 28, 2012
#12218: 1x Single SC - Placed on November 5, 2012
#12619: 2x Single SC - Placed on November 8, 2012

I realize that these order numbers aren't very low and probably won't be in the first batch, but from what I hear the current order number is around 19k 22k so I'm wondering if anyone is interested in buying these.  My plan is to convert all my orders to a mini-rig order and BFL said that I'd lose my place in the preorder queue if I did this so I figure I may as well sell the preorders so someone can take advantage of not being at the end of the line.

Due to BFL's no-address-change policy, I'd promptly ship the unit(s) to you after I receive it/them.  Shipping would be USPS Priority.  I would consider shipping internationally but would have to charge extra for the actual price of shipping.  I'd prefer to ship to the lower 48 US states.

I will accept BTC equivalent at MtGox last, Dwolla, or PayPal if you're willing to pay the fees and only if your account is verified.  PayPal fee calculator: http://thefeecalculator.com/

I would want a $1333 deposit for orders 11914 or 12218, and a $2632 deposit for order 12619, and you would pay the remainder once the unit actually arrives and before I ship it out.  The deposit would have to be made directly to me without escrow, but the difference between the deposit and sale price could be held in escrow for the time between when I ship the unit and you receive it.

Any offers?  Please post here.  Thanks!
(Note- Please don't make any offers less than or equal to $1333 for 1 unit or $2632 for the 2 unit order.  I can just get a refund from BFL at these prices.)
17  Economy / Computer hardware / [sold] x6500 FPGA Miners on: March 20, 2013, 01:12:32 PM
Hey everyone,

I'm looking to sell 3 x6500 rev 3 FPGA miners.  These come with USB cables but no power supply; you'll need to provide power to each board via a 4-pin molex connector or 5.5/2.1mm barrel plug (12v).

These boards are in great condition and mine at an average of 400 MH/s each.  More details can be found here: http://fpgamining.com/products/x6500-rev3

I'm asking $250/each with shipping to continental US included.  You pay shipping if outside of the lower 48 states.

I'll take BTC (with or without escrow; you pay escrow fees) at MtGox last, Dwolla, or PayPal for an additional $10/unit. (so $260/each with PayPal)

I can put up pictures when I get home tonight.

Post here or PM with offers!
18  Economy / Scam Accusations / MikeEpps on: March 18, 2013, 12:51:20 AM
User MikeEpps (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=86467) PM'd me in reply to my WTB BFL singles topic, saying he had 4 units for sale for $2000 and would sell me 3 for $1600 (I was requesting 3).

He registered today, only has 5 posts, and when I asked him for a pic of the units he sent me what looks like a photoshopped picture another member posted of a BFL single.

I obviously didn't pay him so I can't know for sure whether he's a scammer, but just thought I'd let everyone else know.

Pic he sent me of "his" BFL single (strangely enough he couldn't take a pic of the other two he was "selling" me): http://s02.imageupper.com/1/7/H1363557812958920_1.jpg

Where I think he got the original pic from: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=127093

Am I being overly cautious here?
19  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] 3x BFL Singles on: March 17, 2013, 07:35:58 PM
I'm looking to buy 3 BFL FPGA singles. $550/each, shipped to Newport, RI 02840, would prefer to pay with PayPal. Please PM with offers. Thanks!
20  Economy / Computer hardware / [WTB] BFL FPGA Singles on: February 20, 2013, 04:29:44 AM
I'm looking for some more BFL FPGA singles!

I'd prefer to pay via PayPal but can also do Dwolla for one or two units depending on price.  I've completed many orders with various forum members using PayPal, Dwolla, and BTC, and have not received any complaints.  I'm sure any of my previous sellers can confirm that I didn't try to rip them off when using PayPal.

Willing to pay $500/unit; please PM me with offers.  I'm located in USA 02840 (Newport, RI).

Thanks!
