1  Other / Meta / What has changed in last 60 days to allow Yobit to have campaigns here ? on: June 29, 2019, 07:58:10 AM
I am seeing ALL the scam accusations against Yobit is NOT yet closed in an agreeable way.

I am not seeing Yobit hiring a manager to take care of controlling spam in all possible way.

But, people started wearing Yobit's signature and promoting them in each and every corner of this forum.

Participants' ban is temporary as they deserve another chances. But, what Yobit has done from their side to qualify to have campaigns here. The prohibition of Yobit to run campaigns should be extended until they clear themselves in all means.

There are lots of open scam accusations against Yobit. People who are all supporting/promoting a scammer might get eligible for red trust (and not obviously for spamming).
2  Economy / Reputation / The cat is slipping down... on: January 27, 2019, 12:18:38 PM
I doubt this forum's great member Lauda into new hands now.

Reference :
It looks like the site's certificate has expired. Has anyone else seen this?
Why did you share here? You can ask in their ANN thread. You should ask this question in their ANN thread here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1935098.msg19217054#msg19217054 or ask their admin

This is sig campaign thread don't BUMP this thread unnecessarily.
The thread is dead, the account is inactive and Darkstar isn't. So mind your own business.

You don't need to make a statement; I know what I'm talking about as this is literally the same setup that I've been using for a very long time.
I have too. And glitches happen. Depending on how they automated it, there are quite a few scenarii that can explain a non working automatic renewal. Happened to me once or twice in the last couple years.
LoyceV claims it happened before, so I doubt it's a recurring glitch.

-snip-
Again, mind your own business.

1. Never seen anyone here taking a valid reply personal and snarling "mind your business". Because, this is a open discussion forum and everyone is having their basic right to state their opinion.

2. Calling a topic which is having last post 12 days before as dead. The last post happened in chipmixer's ann on Jan 15th 2019.

3. Calling a "business member" inactive but their last active date is January 23, 2019. Just 4 days since their last activity and 5 days since their last post.

4. In my understanding LoyceV replied in general about the expiry of a certificate but never meant that they had seen chipmixer's certificate got expired before. But, Lauda is taking in sense of supporting their argument.

Quoting LoyceV's reply here :
It happens once in a while, I think the certificate is only valid for 3 months.

Have ever seen this kind of behaviors from Lauda ?

In my wild guessing, some mod took control of the Lauda account by removing all the neg. trusts into that.

I wanted to merit that reply but I am not having any smerit. Also, seeing no one is supporting a valid reply as he is fighting against giant of this forum.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Let's all unite bounty hunters. Unite against spam and scam/cheats. on: November 30, 2018, 08:09:07 AM
Almost 95% of bounty programs end up in scamming us. Why ?

1. It is a decentralized forum. Potential-scams are not being moderated.
2. Almost all bounty programs are not rewarding for our hard work or paying with worthless coins/token.

How to safeguard ourselves ?

If we, the community enforce some set of rules to be followed by all the bounty programs then we may have a healthy environment.

Proposed protocols to be followed by bounty programs.

Rule 01. There should be definite time frame for campaigns. If ICO gets extended, bounty also should be extended as round-2 and ect.

Rule 02. All bounty programs should pay some BTC/ETH payments along with tokens/coin. (10% to 50% payment in eth/BTC remaining will be in tokens/coin).

Rule 03. Escrow the BTC/ETH required.
Rule 04. Payments should be weekly or monthly.
Rule 05. There should not be unlimited slots. Must have specific number of slots for each campaign.
Rule 06. Requirement of KYC should be announced in the beginning of bounty.
Rule 07.
Rule 08.
Rule 09.
Rule 10.

(This is not a final list. Suggest your opinion to add more rules and I am ready to make changes to above if more people asks/agree for a change)

What we need to do right now :
Complete your current campaigns and before joining a new campaign, link the manager to this topic and get their opinion in open discussion. Then, you decide to join or not.

If you start ignoring the campaigns which are not hearing to the opinion of this community, we will have a healthy environment.

Ask your friends to have a glance on this topic. Help them to fight against the scams.

Request to managers :
1. Please ask devs/owners to comply with this community opinion.
2. Do not accept the projects which are not ready to listen to this community.
3. Choose people based on merits to fight against spam.

Future plans :
1. Let's show our strength by voting or by having a list of forum members who prefer to work for the program which is following above rules.
2. Providing badges to bounty topics to show "compatible with community norms"

Final word :
You may think, why I should listen to a Jr.member and I am ready to risk my efforts. But, if you start ignoring the campaigns which are not ready to comply with us then you will have same environment similar to what we have in BTC service section. Don't you prefer to have such good environment ?

If we ignore the non-compatible bounties then we will have less campaigns which will lead to less spam for obvious reasons. Think about healthy bitcointalk and opt for change. Thank you.

4  Other / Meta / Anyone got board wise merit analysis ? on: September 30, 2018, 03:39:58 AM
In my observation, most of highly established people and most of merit sources are ONLY active here in meta (and in local sections) for finding high-quality posts.

Could anyone do statistical analysis for
1. How much merits were given for each section
2. Select few ACTIVE members and find how many merits they have given to various sections of this forum.

Goal of this topic :
When we are having local specific merit sources why not board specific ones ?
5  Other / Meta / Upper cap for posts to prevent people wasting their merits in famous topics ? on: April 20, 2018, 05:19:57 PM
Do you feel is it right to keep on meriting on our God Mr. Satoshi Nakamotto's OLD posts ? But I feel, people are wasting their merits by not considering young bitcoiner's QUALITY posts.

One good example here must be (other than Satohis's post), Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns. People love to merit it.

In some perspective, I do find the people who all meriting it like they all want their name to be displayed along with some famous topics.

If it is not good, is there any way to stop this ?

Why not put some upper cap for merits for each and every post ? I mean one post may have only some certain amount of merits.

Or disabling the merit button for a post after some time period (after few weeks) will be a solution here ?
6  Other / Meta / A request to Blazed (and others who are in plan to recruit more DT members) on: January 22, 2018, 07:22:45 PM
Why this request to Blazed
I understand the recent DT inclusions were done due to Blazed's recommendation.

The problem
If we notice most of the DT members are not competing with rest of forum members for selling their signature and avatar spaces.

For example,
hilariousandco and Lutpin are not competing for earning opportunity but accepting offers to show advertisements.
Lauda is intensively looking for earning opportunity in the name of ACE and ALU.

The recent DT members The Pharmacist and actmyname are still competing with rest of forum members for selling their avatar and signature spaces.

(actmyname was in bitsler camp for more than one year and The Pharmacist always competes in Yahoo's altcoin camps.)

Now, after they have the power to disqualify any forum members to lessen the completion to get slots, how we can believe that they will not misuse their DT power ?

(I assume these people must have tons of alt accounts and they want to grab more slots as much as possible)

Until Lauda started managing bitmixer camp, it (the cat) never bothered about account dealing nor shit posting even it was a staff and DT member for years. Why suddenly started giving neg trust to 1000s of accounts along with competing with rest of forum members to earn more.

The clear breach of trust system guidelines for personal benefits

As per theymos' guidelines on trust system, a feedback should not be based on quality of posts.

- Do not rate people based on the quality of their posts.

But these people are providing rating only based on quality of posts whereas "Report to moderator' option is available everywhere or SMAS black-listing also an option against quality of posting.

The request

Please include the members into DT who are not into a situation where they will not misuse their power. When a DT member's behaviors is changing, please monitor them closely.
7  Other / Meta / Shame on this community. Failed to bring guidelines to protect the trust system. on: January 22, 2018, 08:56:55 AM
I asked a DT to neg an obvious abuser who is also into DT. But he refused with the reason of "he will neg back".
The ultimate consequence is, the abuser is enjoying with his non-senses and this community is simply watching !

I start this topic because,
a. This community is slowly moving to a point where it may fail to distinguish scammers and spammers.
b. Personal preferences are being taken for consideration for feedback.

I still have faith on hilariousandco and requesting him to bring an initiative to protect the trust system with possible guidelines.

PS :
Do not target my rank but focus on the points. Any replies which are talking about my rank or asking my alt, will be reported.
8  Other / Meta / hilariousandco is contradicting himself ? on: October 09, 2017, 07:05:35 AM
Was hilariousandco into vacation for last 6 to 12 months ?

I just wonder why those insubstantial topics were allowed to be discussed to have 1000s of replies and then being trashed down?

I do not have any second opinion about low quality/repeated topics. But my question is, Why did not mods delete/lock/nuke those topics once they were created or at least after having 100/200 replies (just after their purposes being served at least), but doing after a long period and all at once ?

It is a good idea to punish the spammer by deleting their posts so that they will not create new insubstantial topics. But when a whole topic is being deleted all other good posters were also facing the same punishment.

I just want to remind hilariousandco the another option "LOCKING topic" to serve the same purpose. (I am not here to tease anyone, still I just want to show how a higher official is missing their responsibilities).

The good practice must be :
1. New insubstantial topics should be deleted/locked immediately
2. Old insubstantial topics should be locked or moved to off-topic/archive rather than trashing.

I know someone will come and shout you do not have any point due to my rank. But as per speech of freedom and being responsible bitcoiner[1] I create this non-insubstantial topic.

[1] I have made more than 70 people to adopt bitcoins in my town.
9  Other / Meta / [suggestion] Please bring guide-lines on how to use trust system on: September 21, 2017, 08:32:26 AM
I am requesting admin/mods to set up sticky topic on guild-lines for transparent trust system and for preventing trust system abusing.

My contribution :

1. All neg trust should be based on a discussion in scam accusation board.
2. A DT member should not give neg trust for their own reasons. They must open a scam accusation and must convince another DT to give neg trust.

This will prevent "you negged me, hence I did" or "someone stole my design and there is no price for my intellectual property". I mean to say all problems should be solved. There should not be any infinite cases.

I am requesting this community to suggest more ideas for better trust system.
10  Other / Meta / Why a suspicious person is being allowed to continue in DT on: August 27, 2017, 08:23:52 AM
I do not want to experience another master-p kind of incident hence want to hear this community's opinion:

Is it right to allow a person who is having following remarks in his career with this forum :

1. Got disqualified from staff position

2. Got removed from DT status at least once for some reasons.

3. Intensively competing with rest of this forum for earning through wearing sig/managing camp and by providing escrow services.

I am not seeing any other staff/DT member is with intensive nature for earning here which is a lead for point #4.

4. Lot of complaints on abuse of DT power like creating room for self benefits in the name of "cleaning" this forum.

5. Open scam accusation on shady behavior with lenders.

Finally, I do hear a staff (or someone who has enough credentials to check activity of forum members) of this forum is selling inactive accounts for cheaper price. I do not have enough proof on this. But I do see lots of account recovering requests after got hacked.

I guess this is the right time to bring new changes to continue a healthier and safer environment here.
11  Other / Meta / Purpose of this forum : creating knowledge resources or spreading bitcoins ? on: December 10, 2016, 09:35:39 AM
Why Satoshi has created this forum ?

I agree with spam contents we cannot spread awareness of bitcoins to new people.
But we cannot expect non-native English speakers to participate into higher end discussions.

Just imagine a non-English 20 year old boy joins here and enter the general discussion board, if he finds a topic bitcoin is money or investment, he will try to say something but if he sees ONLY discussions like high technical subjects for example about segwit, he will probably close the tab and will open facebook.

In long run we may lose a possible bitcoin adopter.

If bitcoin is only for native English speaker then we can have higher standards for topics and posts.
(still I doubt they will be ready to talk for tech topics)

Obvious spammers/ copy pasters must deserve their ban. No second opinion on this.

I view this forum is doing similar role of block rewards. Those who got possibilities run mining farm and earn rewards. Those who got interest to write about cryptocurrency, join here and earn bitcoins. But we need to note here that both are just bitcoin adopters without adopters there will be no life for bitcoin system.

But recent changes seems a heavy deviation from motto of this forum.
