These units do NOT have CE certificates, so we are no longer accepting orders that ship to CE-required destinations.

The vendor recently changed from a 40-chip 5-module design to a 32-chip 4-module design.  That makes overclocking these units NOT recommended!

Personally, I'm a nobody; I'd be willing to send documents to a reputable community member for verification.  My business partner has an excellent track record in merchandise sales.  He recently sold one of these units on ebay for $7200; you can check his feedback there.

5  Bitcoin / Hardware / What hardware is missing? on: December 04, 2013, 07:22:19 PM
I'm an embedded engineer looking to get a bit more involved.

  • We've got ASICs and their supporting DIY pcbs
  • We've got custom cooling solutions
  • We've got custom power supplies
  • We've got 49-port USB hubs

What are we missing?  Anybody have something specific they were wishing someone would get around to building?

(I know there are a number of excellent community projects, like the Wasp Project Collective.  I'm looking for something a little more personal, specialized, or otherwise nuanced.  No promises; just looking for ideas.)
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Universal Wallet Anyone? on: May 13, 2013, 12:31:22 PM
Lotta AltCoins out there.  It would be interesting if someone could design a generalized wallet application to import and manage all the AltCoin wallets from a single interface.  Even if all the AltCoins die, this would be a useful functionality for Bitcoin/Litecoin.  Is this something that already exists?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Transaction Fees on: April 25, 2013, 05:21:01 PM
I have questions about how they work.  I've had this issue in both Bitcoin and Litecoin Qt clients.

I joined a p2p pool that dumped my shares directly to my wallet.  I don't have a lot of horsepower, so after a few hours I had 50 transactions totaling about 1LTC.  I wanted to send them to BTC-e to add to my funds there.  I select it all, set the tx fee to 0.01, and hit go.  It comes back and tells me I don't have enough funds because of the 0.8 LTC tx fee.  I lower my optional tx fee, until i've eventually removed it entirely.  It's still demanding 80% of my transaction just to send it.

What part of the system am I missing?  Is there a baseline tx fee?  Doesn't this make p2p kinda worthless for LTC, since it doesn't aggregate your earnings before sending them?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / *Coin Complaint List on: April 22, 2013, 03:54:00 PM
All the AltCoins!  I like AltCoins.  But I'm noticing many of them repeat the downfalls of previous coins.  Of course, if we don't know what went wrong, chances are we'll do it again.

List time!  What are the current difficult problems surrounding *coins, Alt or otherwise?

I'm no expert, so please comment with your additions to the list.

  • Blockchain Size
  • Confirmation Delay
  • 51% Attack Vulnerability
  • ASIC Vulnerability*
  • Difficulty Adjustment slow/fast/inconsistent/untuned to algorithm
  • Excessive Early Adopter Rewards
  • Little or No Usage outside collection and exchange

edit:
  • *Mining Investment Bias
  • Lack of Localization
  • xCoin Naming Convention can have negative connotations
  • Electrical Costs
  • Offline Usage currently impossible
  • Non-intuitive units
  • Coin Dust
  • Hard-coded parameters don't allow for non-procedural feedback mechanism
  • No perceived backing for value
  • Lack of Decentralized Exchange Mechanism
  • Inflation/Deflation enormous compared to normal currencies

edit:
  • Offensive marketing tactics deter adoption
  • Non-transparent, non-contributive premine
  • Poorly explained reward structure
  • Poorly explained in general
  • Difficult for non-technical users to adopt
  • Erratic income despite regular contribution
  • Legacy reward systems may no longer be appropriate
  • Transaction Confirmations don't scale with Transaction Size

Anything else?
