41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Many new projects are now available for users for testing on: February 07, 2024, 06:28:57 PM
If you did use those applications, I think you have gotten a lot of rewards by now and there are more upcoming. 2024 is going to be the year of airdrop and there are already few hyped project like layer zero, zksync, starknet and few other projects that can do airdrop program for their early users. This airdrops are going to be highly profitable for some users i have seen one guy earned more than millions of dollars by joining an airdrop in solana ecosystem.

If he earned that much money, it means he used multiaccounts, because I can't imagine any other way how you can earn that kind of money on retrodrops.

Yes, there were more than 9k wallets involved in that airdrop. This is not possible for a single person so i guess it was a team that farmed that airdrop and made that fortune. That was a risky move because if all of their wallets didn't meet the criteria, they would suffer massive losses by farming those airdrop. I have seen on social media some people in china were farming zksync airdrop and they have a professional setup like an office. I am just thinking about how crazy these people are about aidrop.

If projects that distribute retro drops or airdrops approached the multiaccount ban more responsibly and used more sophisticated verification tools, this would not have happened. And now, users with multiaccounts are stealing from conscientious people. By the way, I do not exclude the leakage of insider information before retrodrops, giving the opportunity to earn very big money to people from a close circle of developers.
42  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing like it since the past 12 years on: February 07, 2024, 06:18:25 PM
If you bought bitcoin and the price collapsed, selling is not an option at all, even if there is no source of income, because the point of investing is to increase funds. But you also need to be able to sell the grown bitcoin in time, since many are waiting for its further growth, and as a result, the price falls.

You have to understand that not everyone could do the things OP did to save his hard-earned Bitcoin. You could stay hungry for a day or two without having a meal or taking one meal a day when you are single. But, if you have a family and have a wife and child who need food, you cannot see them suffering from hunger. No father or a husband could see such situation.

I am glad I am not one of them. Of course investing in something that is likely to grow much is good. But, you have to think about your family and the health as well. Without a good health, you won't be able to survive for a long time. I do not suggest anyone to do the same thing. Always have meal when you can.

As bad as it sounds, you need to be out of your mind to invest your last savings. Investing means investing money that you can afford to lose, not the last money for food and family.
43  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone Calls My Child's Name Bitcoin. on: February 06, 2024, 12:55:29 PM
Because of the story https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5401052.0#msg60271061, until now most people, especially my entire extended family and also people around me, call my child Bitcoin.
Actually, most of them don't really know what Bitcoin really is, especially old people and small children because in my area Bitcoin is not very popular and only certain people know about it. And with this story happening, those who know that my child's birth expenses were paid using Bitcoin, want to know more clearly and also want to know what Bitcoin actually is.
And after I told them the basics of what Bitcoin is and its benefits, they finally understood and in my conversation with them I did not suggest investing, only that Bitcoin can be used for long-term investments that are profitable from other investments. And it can be used for trading, and can also be used as a transaction tool like money. And both must have a Bitcoin address or wallet that can be done privately, because in the country where I live, Bitcoin or other crypto cannot be used as a means of transaction.
And until now when explaining Bitcoin I don't know the developments whether they are involved or not.
Actually that's not the purpose of this thread, but more aimed at my son who most people call my son Bitcoin.
And at first I felt uncomfortable because my child had a beautiful name, but over time I got used to it and if my child was called Bitcoin he would definitely respond more because he was used to it. And I'm worried that my child will be called Bitcoin when he grows up, and I also feel uncomfortable if there are questions about Bitcoin because I'm afraid of answering it wrong.

No offense, but I don't understand the meaning of the created topic with a link to the previous topic, in which you can continue to develop the narrative further. Perhaps it's all about the "merit" left in the previous topic and looks like a desire to get them again. This is my personal opinion.
44  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Silly and scary questions, and what would you do if that were you. on: February 06, 2024, 12:33:14 PM
I became worried and found it difficult to answer after my friend asked me scary and ridiculous questions about Bitcoin ownership.
he asked. If friends, new acquaintances, or other people find out that you have a sizable amount of Bitcoin, and you don't tell them. Then you are kidnapped with several people covering their faces, with the aim of getting your wallet address with the risk that if you don't give it you will be killed.
And another reason, you have given your wallet address to members you trust, such as family members or your wife and children.

And I want to know, what are you going to do.
Aren't you going to give the bad guy your wallet address, and you let him get killed. However, your Bitcoins remain safe because you have given your wallet address to someone you trust.
Or you will give it away because you still want to live, and you don't have any more Bitcoins.

And it was just a casual conversation with a friend of mine who both owns Bitcoin, and I was just wondering what other people's answers to this dreaded question made me want to create a thread.

You need to have several wallets, one is the main one, the other is for robbers, which has bitcoins, but there are not as many of them as on the main wallet. Then I think you can outsmart them.
45  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Personal Computer Mined How Many Bitcoin Per Day In 2009? 100? 250? 1700? on: February 06, 2024, 12:20:44 PM
Although the OP asked an interesting question, it is also very interesting to me that during the first 4 years as much as 50% of all Bitcoins were mined, and of that as much as 2.625 million in the first year.

Therefore, we can conclude that the first users were really privileged in some way, because not only could they mine with their personal computers, but they also had the opportunity to mine blocks with the highest rewards. It was, without any doubt, perhaps the most interesting time in the short history of Bitcoin, and the most fruitful period in someone's life if by any chance he saved the mined BTC for the future.

I think a lot of them lost their bitcoins, for example, by simply reinstalling Windows, since then bitcoin was almost worthless. But, many have earned for themselves for life. Oh, I would like to be in 2009 now))
46  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: A good time to buy Aptos on: February 05, 2024, 06:28:49 PM
You can endlessly speculate whether the price of Aptos will rise or not, but I can say for sure that Etherium will definitely grow, so do not clog your brains and invest in Etherium. The profit may not be as big as you expect, but it will definitely be there.
47  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX to refund customers at Bitcoin's prices below $18,000 on: February 05, 2024, 06:18:54 PM
FTX to refund customers at Bitcoin's prices below $18,000

Quote
Crypto exchange FTX has decided against resuming its operations and instead will proceed with asset liquidation to refund its customers, Reuters reported on Wednesday. However, under US bankruptcy proceedings, repayments will be calculated based on Bitcoin’s value in November 2022, specifically when Bitcoin was trading below $18,000.

https://cryptobriefing.com/ftx-refund-bitcoin-customers/

Is this has been discussed already?

What are your thoughts about this one? For sure those who lost money in the FTX collapse will have to find console in getting some from FTX itself. But I don't think this is fair to their customers if they will be calculated on Value of Bitcoin in November 2022, just saying.

It should be in full and should be based on the numbers of Bitcoin they have in this exchange, in my opinion.

For me they should be compensated according to the stress they got from the incident and FTX management done wrong so its really good to give something more to those depositor so that they will be happy with refund plan to be executed by them.

But if there's nothing will be change since government and FTX have good settlement plan to pay all of those people compromised on their platform then I guess they should accept it since its still better than nothing since they can't do anything with it but to wait for the total refund that planned to happen.

Hopefully depositors will get what they deserve since its not their fault on why this thing happen and all blame should be pointed to FTX management so they must pay for it.

I think they're just laughing at the investors who kept their money on the stock exchange. $18,000 for bitcoin, when now it costs 43,000, it's just terrible. Perhaps by such actions they are just trying to mitigate the situation for themselves.
48  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's add up the KNOWN lost bitcoins on: February 04, 2024, 04:08:06 PM
Got it in 2011, forgot about it until BTC hit 3000 dollars. Spent hours trying to remember the dozen+ character password. Finally overwrote that drive to keep from going mad trying to remember the password as the price of BTC went up.

I think this is the most idiotic decision. The password can be chosen 100%, especially now that there are quantum computers. Here, of course, the amount on the account decides.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There is nothing like it since the past 12 years on: February 04, 2024, 03:52:43 PM
It is quite impressive when you are able to hold Bitcoin for 3 years and stick to your guns to hold on to it even when you have no income. I understand what it's like to hold Bitcoin when you have no source of income, it must be quite difficult in the beginning, especially when the market is bearish there will definitely be a desire to sell it, but you persist and eventually get a profit from your investment. This is a true investor, you set your goals from the start and stick to them until your profits are achieved.

If you bought bitcoin and the price collapsed, selling is not an option at all, even if there is no source of income, because the point of investing is to increase funds. But you also need to be able to sell the grown bitcoin in time, since many are waiting for its further growth, and as a result, the price falls.
50  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TOP NFT sales in January! on: February 04, 2024, 06:46:29 AM
I personally do not see much potential much less a point in NFTs but seeing these prices will definitely make you think and wonder about who are rich and bored enough to buy these artworks

Art is subjective of course but how can someone be obsessed with these is my question? I do not understand the use of it aside from owning one and artists finally having a medium to make some good money otherwise it is just a picture on the internet that belongs to a specific someone

There are different NFTs. Artists make professional drawings that can be used to develop games, movies, website design, etc. Such NFTs can justifiably be bought for a high price. But, I don't understand who buys ugly pixel NFTs that a child can draw.
51  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Let's talk about Cyber games. on: February 03, 2024, 02:46:31 PM
I think that attracting players to the game by earning money in cryptocurrency is just a gold mine, but this should be done by companies that produce high-quality games to attract additional traffic, and not those that produce shit games and wait for players who want to earn. Right now, there are only crappy games on the crypto market, from companies that don't know how to make games.
52  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The outcome of merging traditional finance and decentralised finance. on: February 03, 2024, 02:35:36 PM
That is a fair point. People on the internet immediately believe that Bitcoin and other crypto currencies being immediately included in traditional banks or tools in the United States or in the European Union is something good. But someone aware of the main objective of Bitcoin is (decentralization) would say that those adaptations of Bitcoin to the markets are rather efforts to centralized the use of Bitcoin, so people interested in Bitcoin and other major cryptocurrencies won't bother to have a non custodial wallet, and only keep their funds in those centralized instruments.
For example, there have been some banks which have announced to start to offer Bitcoin services to their clients with a high tolerante to volatility. Those potential clients would have had a decentralized wallet on their own eventually, if they were truly interested in Bitcoin. Now they have the apparent comfortability to have their BTC in the same bank account their FIAT is.
The apparent sense of legitimacy which is granted to Bitcoin by those centralized institutions comes at the cost of centralizing the holding of satoshis and the value of them, it is exactly the opposite on what the mission of Alts and BTC is, in my opinion.

People just want to make money. They don't care if ETFs or other financial instruments pose a centralization risk to crypto/Blockchain tech. Convenience goes above all else. What we need to do as a community is fight against the rising powers of centralization.

As long as we keep crypto decentralized, big companies and mainstream governments will have a hard time trying to "destroy" the revolution. We can't tell what will happen in the future. Therefore, we can only hope for the best. Who knows how long "De-Fi" will last? Sad

If they get to De-Fi, then people will definitely come up with something new, decentralized, progress does not stand still. Therefore, there is no need to worry.

54  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it valid to invest in a gaming projects? on: February 02, 2024, 07:19:40 PM
This is very similar to the advertising of the project. But if opinion is important to you, the project is bottom. I watched the video on YouTube and the impression is just terrible. The listing was announced on Pancakeswap, and then on OK, Huobi and MEXC, which I personally do not believe. Write that the game is already working and you can play, but there are no links to the game itself anywhere. In general, according to the site and where the tokensale will take place, it seems that schoolchildren were doing this.
55  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do low fees matter most in choosing crypto platforms, or other factors? on: February 02, 2024, 06:56:12 PM
When choosing a cryptocurrency platform, do you prioritize seeking out those with lower transaction fees, or do other factors such as security, user interface, or available features take precedence in your decision-making? Share your perspective below and let's discuss the key considerations within our community!

Transaction fees matter. Just look at Ethereum. A few years ago, the transaction fee of that coin is just way high for us average investors to afford, and because of that, there are many projects under Ethereum that are made, and their priority at that time is to have lower transaction fees. Polygon, Optimism, Arbitrum are just some of them.

Of course there are other factors that are important as well, but if you will use that platform, and will make some transactions on it then consider or maybe prioritize the transaction fees on it. Nobody wants to use a platform that can cause you $5-$6 every transaction right?

What's good now is that, there are many tokens out there who has a low to very low transaction fees already, and as for Ethereum, well the fees are 10x higher than that of other smart contract platforms out there but surprisingly, there are many who are still using it for various reasons.

I absolutely agree with the opinion. I practically do not use Ethereum, I transferred all ERC-20 tokens to the BSC network, since the commissions in it are small, and ethereum has cosmic ones. Ethereum transactions also take much longer than many other networks.
56  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance launches Inscription market on: February 01, 2024, 07:23:56 PM
Quote - "Faster Transactions: Get ahead of the competition with faster transactions powered by BTC Transaction Accelerator, which allows users to speed up any BTC transactions, such as subscribing and/or trading of BRC-20 tokens, by paying a fee."

Binance knows how to make money, maybe this is the main reason for the launch?
57  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing altcoins now or during halving? on: February 01, 2024, 07:13:48 PM
It depends on how you look at the situation. If you are investing for several years ahead and you do not need a quick profit, you can invest with a good reduction in the price of the altcoin and just wait a long time. In any case, you won't guess the right moment, it's who's lucky.
58  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Continuous Launchpool on Binance on: February 01, 2024, 07:00:17 PM
Now is the beginning of a bullish trend and as you can see, not only binance is launching new projects, bybit had a Launchpool of two new coins that flew into space - zeta and fire. I believe that now it is necessary to invest in everything that the exchanges offer, as it has already been in the past.
59  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your Favorite Altcoin and Why? on: January 31, 2024, 06:26:29 PM
The best altcoin in my opinion ETH, ETH marketcap is very large only inferior to bitcoin. continues to have a network that other dev coins can use to create coins. the shortcomings of the ETH network are large and expensive sending fees so that people are reluctant or rarely use it. even those who take part in bounty or airdrop using ETH are less interested in it.

I believe that at this point in time, the merit of ETH is only that it was an innovator in smart contracts, just as bitcoin was the first cryptocurrency at the time. Therefore, the championship belongs to him, since everyone knows him and knows that this cryptocurrency will not go anywhere. I personally prefer Fantom and BNB because of their super fast transactions and low fees.
60  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bullish 2024 ! on: January 31, 2024, 06:05:55 PM
Currently many new projects with large funding raised are listed and it can be said that they are big projects because after listing some of them entered the top 50 of CMC. examples include APTOS ARBITRUM and SUI.
I mean, does the emergence of many new projects like this indicate that bullish is getting closer? What do you think ?

The major factor that contributed to the mini bullish trend of last quarter of 2023 can be attributed primarily to the submission of spot ETF requests by several financial institutions with giant BlackRock leading the way. presently, the market appears to be in sideways movement and this trend might continue until anticipated Bitcoin halving event expected around mid of 2024. The positive momentum in Bitcoin price certainly has positive impact on altcoins market.

Do you think altcoins will go up to the moon after bitcoin in the same way as in the last bullish trend? I am very interested, because with the current bitcoin price of $ 43,000, altcoins are in no hurry to add much in price. And to be honest, it doesn't make me very happy.
