This is fantastic news  Joe.

The automated invoicing system will be a game changer in our industry --  it is potentially the world's first fully decentralized & automated invoicing system that doesn't require any third party. It really simplifies the entire process and I'm looking forward to having a video ready for the community to see how it all works soon.

Agreed. and it changes the game in a way that offers real, tangible benefits for those who use the tool. More importantly, this is just the beginning. DNotes is committed to leading the industry's efforts to transform the way we manage our money, handle commerce, and create real opportunity  for ourselves and others. Its simplicity is directly in line with the broader commitment to making DNotes inclusive for everyone around the world. Well done, Joe.

I look forward to seeing that video soon.

Kraken Issues Forceful Response to Bloomberg Report

https://dcebrief.com/kraken-issues-forceful-response-to-bloomberg-report/

I don't think Kraken has anything to worry about. They're an American exchange and doing things on the up and up with all their coins including Tether. My understanding is that most of the funny business was associated with Binance, which I believe also has a controlling interest in Tether. I still want to know exactly where the US Dollars to back up Tether are really coming from.

I tend to agree with you about Kraken.  As far as the Tether/Bitfinex controversy, I would just add a qualifier to your statement: "alleged" funny business. So far, we have people who have examined trading and raised questions about what they are seeing. And we have allegations of market manipulation. The reality, though, is that we don't know whether there is actual funny business, and won't until there is more transparency from Bitfinex and Tether. There have been arguments countering the wrongdoing claims, and those arguments may be accurate - if Tether can back up all its claims. For now, however, they're practically inviting allegations by refusing to be transparent. And we all know how the media can be once it senses blood in the water...

We're all fortunate that Alan's experience and business acumen have resulted in DNotes taking a different approach to its participation in the industry. Rather than being opaque and mysterious, DNotes is dedicated to being verifiable, transparent, and responsive to its stakeholder community. Alan's recent update on funding efforts are a great example of that, and once again demonstrate DNotes Global's total commitment to being a truly trusted, accessible, and inclusive digital currency solution for the world.

this is what I wrote, "Please Update Dnotes blockchain. There Grandfathered in aren't they? They are being categorized as a "A listed Company" I found them through this site 4 years ago and they have been the best coin the whole 4 years. No Hype, easy to understand, smart, devoted, and most certified being the CEO is pioneer of the first portable computers and had the largest contracts with the US government at the time for those computers. They always do what they say there going to do and have completed a lot over 4.5 years and its all verifiable. You guys are nuts for not having them actively listed. Their registering with the SEC this year. They will explode with or without you but I just would really like to see there data on your site, its easier to follow. potentially it Allows others to not miss the low prices. Prices are starting to jump as of last night so its already starting. You are loaded with garbage on here take a real and trustworthy coin in.

Thankyou for your time,
Daniel"

Daniel, never doubt that words like yours have an impact. Your message was passionate, accurate, and inspirational. It's also a friendly challenge to anyone who wants to see digital currency's real potential realized, but may still be wondering how that can ever be achieved in such a chaotic and unfocused environment.

Passion like yours is what makes the DNotes community such an integral part of its ecosystem, and it's why DNotes will succeed in ways that others cannot - as an inclusive, trusted, financially-empowering supplemental currency that offers new access to opportunity for billions of people around the world. Thanks for sharing that passion with everyone here. Cheers!

Mercatox is shady. No bad experiences with them myself as I have avoided them based on the experiences of others but mercatox has a long history of shady practices that are well documented especially when the price of XRB (now Nano) climbed exponentially in December. People had their coins locked up for months on there. I would not be surprised at all if what you are noticing is very real. I would also advise not using mercatox moving forward.

I'm bummed to hear that. I really hope that it can all be explained by scaling up and other technical issues, but I hear you. I'll keep watching as long as I'm trading there. It still has the best volume for BTC/NOTE. However, I have found that with patience I can buy DNotes a lot cheaper on Stocks.exchange. I'm trading on both.

My verification on Mercatox is pending so I can only withdraw 0.5 BTC every 24 hours, but other than that, I have had no issue with withdrawing either BTC or NOTE. Right now BTC wallet is in maintenance.

We have always believed trust will play a major role in digital currency mass adoption. This is part of the reason we created the DNotesVault and ask users not to store your coins on exchanges if you are not actively trading them.

You can search any exchange and add the word scam to it and find hundreds of scam accusations and problems reported, even the most clearly legitimate ones like coinbase. Not to undermine anyone's real experiences and issues, there are real problems and we intend to help alleviate those issues. I'm sure many of you who have been around for a while can attest, we could fill the forum with stories. For now, all we can do is work with what we got while working toward something better.

All of that is true - even Coinbase has been accused of scamming customers, and I think they're honestly trying to do things the right way. Of course, valid complaints are common in almost every industry, since no company every gets things right 100% of the time. Perfection is a goal that always remains just outside our reach. So, it's no surprise to see crypto exchanges making mistakes. And, given the present maturity level of the industry, scams shouldn't surprise anyone either. Heck, the internet has been around for decades, and there are still website scams out there.

The real problem is that so few of these exchanges have demonstrated a plan or ability to properly handle legitimate customer concerns. Sure, I can call Coinbase to talk about problems - NOW. But it took them time to ramp up their customer service and add some of those response options, and that delay can lock in some people's negative perceptions. A little more foresight would have helped to avoid some of that ill will.

Fortunately, DNotes Global is doing everything with a well-conceived strategy in mind. Can anyone here imagine a DNotes exchange where you would have to wait a week to get a question answered? Can you even begin to imagine a DNotes exchange where your funds were in limbo and your concerns were left unaddressed for days while the team prioritized new user signups rather than securing your holdings?

Not a chance.

The crypto discussion at the Senate subcommittee hearing yesterday is just another reminder of why DNotes' commitment to doing things the right way is going to be so important going forward. Lawmakers and regulators are focusing more attention than ever on this industry, and taking note of legally dubious companies and practices. Meanwhile, the DNotes team has been focused like a laser on complying with laws and regulations - and establishing a reputation of trust and legitimacy that few digital currency projects will be able to match.

This is the type of project that Scott Dueweke was talking about when he suggested that policymakers encourage "the growth of new virtual currencies that are committed to proper compliance with the law." When government eventually moves to rein in the industry's worst impulses, DNotes will be well-positioned to survive and thrive even as others fall by the wayside.

Interestingly regulators worldwide have been slow to apprehend people who are raising capital without basic investor protections. Many capital raises in the space are done under the guise of being "forward-sold goods" or "utility tokens". Even if this were the true intention of the raising business, the economy doesn't focus like that whatsoever. The vast majority of projects build garbage-grade products that have near-zero utility or community support after completion, and 'utility token' buyers invariably treat their purchase as an 'investment' for gain rather than advance payment for goods and services. If this were not the case, we would rarely see any individual buyers acquiring more than $20-50 USD worth of tokens. Instead we see the average buy orders in the thousands of dollars for products with next to no viable use.

98%+ of ICO projects would never be able to successfully raise capital from sophisticated investors through traditional financial markets, since they don't have the trust, credibility, competency, nor experience to pass scrutiny by the SEC and savvy investors.

DNotes of course isn't concerned whatsoever about this, we are putting ourselves through the highest level of investor and regulatory scrutiny through Reg D & Reg A+ offerings because we are certain in the quality that we deliver.

"The vast majority of projects build garbage-grade products that have near-zero utility or community support after completion, and 'utility token' buyers invariably treat their purchase as an 'investment' for gain rather than advance payment for goods and services."

It would be more surprising if they built anything with real value, since so few of those products/projects are based on any real, achievable vision. Most of them are money grabs, pure and simple. In his book, Alan talks about entrepreneurs who start businesses because they see others doing the same thing, and how they usually fail because they're unprepared for the realities of business ownership. They lack vision, strategic thinking, and any purpose beyond the faint hope that they can make money doing what everyone else is doing.

The DNotes approach is decidedly different, with a focus on providing real-world benefits to real people. Real quality. Real trust. A real strategy, and the very real leadership needed to make these things happen so that digital currency can finally fulfill its promise and potential. All done the right way, at the right time, and for the right reasons.

That's a good point wiser. I've often considered that many people may just choose to live off the interest paid out by the DNotes network, and perhaps their staking rewards too in the future. That said, I think it would generally be people closer to retirement would be more excited by those types of opportunities. I think in the case of younger investors, they may well be looking to reap as many years of compounding interest as possible.

That's just another one of DNotes' great benefits. Different people have different needs and desires, so it's important to provide them with the flexibility  to choose the options that help them achieve their individual goals. With interest-earning and staking rewards, DNotes stakeholders have real choices about how to manage and benefit from their holdings.

I also like how the Dnote team is not trying to replace fiat, but is trying to augment it.  I see so many posts on other forums from crypto purists that want nothing to do with government regulations, taxes or fiat, but that is simply not practical.  With innovation comes regulation.  The best way to “game” the system, is to understand the system, play by the rules and always be a step ahead of the competition.

Those are my “deep” thoughts for the day.  Raining pretty hard here in Hakuba so I am taking time to catch up on posts.  Cheers all!

That's a great point, and one worth repeating. The DNotes team has had the foresight to recognize that the most immediate benefit that digital currency can provide to the world is as a supplemental currency. Billions of people around the world need something better than existing fiat currencies can offer. They need something better than the existing financial industry wants to offer. They need real financial empowerment and an inclusive supplemental currency that can help them make their lives and their communities better.

No digital currency is going to quickly (or even slowly) achieve any of those goals by repeatedly butting heads with the current system. Regulation is a fact of life for businesses, with the only question being how much or how little regulation each industry endures. Those who want to ignore that reality and pretend as though they can create a new system without complying with laws, rules, and standards are destined to be disappointed.

Fortunately, DNotes is a different kind of digital currency, with a different kind of vision, and a different approach to regulation and fulfilling cryptocurrency's true promise. In the end, that will be why DNotes succeeds while others fall by the wayside.
