So that inspired me to take the challenge and build such a curated website my self.
It appears, that isn't the only reason behind it. I've noticed the referral links that you're trying to indirectly promote (on each website page that you created, visible by hovering over the "Visit Website" button).

The last thing I want to do is display scammy sites. So that's removed, and I'll try to do some more research on the sites before adding them.
You can also use "Badbitcoin" for filtering those out (don't completely rely on it, it's just for reducing the process).

Will be happy to get any feedback I can get as well.
Adding other websites that don't offer a ref commission Wink

Hi SFR10

I understand that you think that the “?ref=“ link could seem like that I’m trying to use some kind of referral program in order to cash in some commission.
I can at the same time assure you that that’s not the intention. The purpose is to underline to listed sites where their traffic is coming from. A well know technique, that also used to be used but Product Hunt.

Sure it could be nice to earn some money on the site at some point, but that’s not the primary reason to make this site. I know it sounds to good to be true, but I genuinely want to help people find websites that accept crypto currency payments. No hidden agenda.

Hope this puts your view on the site in another light.

I like this site. The other directories are all out of date as far as i know, and it's hard to find actual ones that are working. I also like the fact that you're trying to tackling this problem yourself, shows that you have a lot of heart.

Though, I would definitely try to add more sites before releasing it to the public. 21 sites isn't that helpful. Please also add an option to filter sites by country supported, otherwise someone from Canada for example don't want to see irrelevant info from the US.

After a quick browse i saw that you listed bitmainmasters.com, which is a confirmed scam site(https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2451559.0), I think you should filter out all the scammy sites first before entering them into teh database.

GL with your project otherwise.

Hi magneto

Thanks a lot for your feedback!

The last thing I want to do is display scammy sites. So that's removed, and I'll try to do some more research on the sites before adding them.

Yes, there aren't that many sites listed right now, and I will keep on adding new sites almost every day.
The reason why I wanted to "release" it already, was to get some feedback on the idea as soon as possible. And I want to get my hands on as much of this as possible.

I'll definitely consider some more filtering options.

Thanks again!

Hi!

A while back I wanted to put some of my Bitcoins to good use, and actually try to use them for it's actual purpose, as a mean of payment.
I wanted to see if I could find a place where I could book flight tickets using Bitcoin. While it did not take that long to find a place or two, all the places i stumbled upon looked rather shady and not a place where I'd send my hard earned Bitcoins to.

So I looked further for a directory that maybe listed different places that accepted Bitcoin payments. Again I found some. But they all had two things in common; hard to browse through and not up to date with content.
So that inspired me to take the challenge and build such a curated website my self. Here some weeks later, I am glad to be able to share Coin Market Shops with the community.
I will keep adding new places every day, but I will also encourage you to submit a business that is not currently listed!

Will be happy to get any feedback I can get as well.

Check it out and happy shopping Smiley - https://coinmarketshops.com

However I won't PM you until you at least post some more details, I only think that's fair for everyone, just a few bullets along with your budget.

Cheers.

Yup.. All gains from crypto trading in Denmark is tax free.
I think the article you linked to on Coindesk pretty much sums it up:
Quote
"We see the outcome of bitcoin transactions as a result of something purely private. Therefore, any gains on bitcoin are tax-exempt, and losses are not deductible."

However if you're working and get paid in Bitcoin, you'll have to declare that. But any gains or losses as a consequence of trading or speculation is tax-exempt.

I suppose you could give Skat a call (the danish tax authorities). But prepare for some waiting time Smiley

The danish country code is +45.

Medmindre det drejer sig om et beløb i en størrelsesorden hvor du kan gå på pension nu, så ville jeg også anbefale dig at blive ved med at holde dem.

Tag lidt profit hvis det er, men ellers hold.

that really sucks

It sure does. I think the only things we can do is push Poloniex in their support channels for a resolution and hope it will get resolved soon.
I think it's harming the true value of SC because, people are afraid of investing in something that they can not move around..

I am following along in the Sia Slack channels, and the last thing I heard was that the Sia team was given Poloniex everything they needed in order to fix the wallet and the ball is therefor in their court.

I am not quite sure how it is for businesses (I think I sent the wrong link). But if you are a private person, all profits gained from crypto trading is tax free.

I don't expect the law about this to be changed any time soon. Most Danes associate Bitcoin with "evil hacker money", especially after wannacry. The Danish government presented a so called "2025 plan" a few days ago which states a bunch of stuff public institutions should look at before the year 2025. And that included "blockchain" technology.

So to put it short. They'll probably change the law sooner or later, but I would not expect any changes at least not for a couple of years.

Fyi. The issues with the SC wallet on Polo has just been resolved. So I'd expect some price increases over the next few days/weeks.

I'm holding some SC both for it's actual usage, but also for some long term holding.
Sia has a great concept and tech. I think their biggest issues right now is adoption, they're not quite good at marketing as of now.

Hi Smiley

sorry for writing in english here, but it is hard to know in english section who is from which country.

I'm from germany and would like to know how private bitcoin profits are taxed in scandinavia .
Just the profits from normal trading on exchanges and holding coins not longer then one year.

In germany it is a "private sale" and the profits are added to your income and taxed as such, except you holded the coins one year or more, then it is tax free.

How is it in scandinavia? I guess it variates from country to country in scandinavia?
I heard in denmark there is no tax for bitcoin profits? Is this right?

Regards,
Serpens66

I don't know how it is in other Scandinavian countries than Denmark. But all profits gained from trading cryptocurrency is tax free. However any losses can not be tax refunded (like it is with "regular" forex and stock trading).
However I would expect that to be changed in the future once it becomes more mainstream to do cryptocurrency trading.
For more infomation on the Danish tax law see http://www.skat.dk/skat.aspx?oId=2156173&vId=0 (In Danish).
