1163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy WAVES? on: July 29, 2017, 04:28:16 PM
I also have most of my investments in Waves. Have high hopes and expectations. In two years we could see x50.
1164  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why buy WAVES? on: July 27, 2017, 08:50:45 AM
I Hodl and recharge as well.
I believe Waves can do a x50 in the mid term (1y to 2y)

Let's hope $100 at the end of 2018!

It's time to buy some BNT before the first week of August! This week promises to be very busy and everything can happen, prices are nice, I didn't participate in the first rewards campaign because I underestimated Bancor, but this time I'll not be left out, does anyone know when it will start?

I think mid-August. You should join our Telegram group and ask this question. The team is very active and responsive there.

openANX Community #4 — Becoming a Community Manger by @theroryshow

This week’s “Community Post” is from one of our Community Managers, Rory (@theroryshow). Many of you probably know him from our Slack or Telegram channels, or maybe from BCT or Reddit on some other project. He’s been a great help to us here, and he’s a great guy! Thanks Rory!

However, when you find a project in crypto that you feel is revolutionary or groundbreaking, it can be one of the most rewarding experiences you will find in the world of technology.

When I look to become involved in a project I always look at the team, even before I look at the idea. Without the team of developers, marketers, and other support staff a project has almost no chance of being successful. What made openANX different was its connection to a successful centralized exchange ANX International. This was a team looking to evolve and build on what was already in place.

That is the real key to becoming a community manager. You must first work to be part of the community you represent. You must understand their concerns, anticipate challenges, and be willing to voice your concerns in a professional way to the development team or contact.

I truly feel that with good communication you always have a shot to turn around a challenging situation and exceed expectations.

Lastly, always be honest with the developers, community, and yourself.

1167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [BANCOR] Price Speculation on: July 27, 2017, 07:21:23 AM
Invested 4 Btc yesterday, so bancor to the moon and never back. Cheesy

My speculation is: At least 15$ in less than 3months from now.

Could also be higher, the next couple of months are huge for Bancor. If the token works as designed and ICO's will start using BNT for the issuing of their tokens, BNT's price will moooooooon!

Responding to SEC press release, Tim Draper (Bancor advisory board) sent an open letter

https://m.facebook.com/tim.draper/posts/10155685679894235

Open letter to the SEC.
Dear Commissioners:
Thank you for weighing in on the ICO market. I agree that some (light) regulation might be in order with regard to ICOs. But in the spirit of clarity, and encouraging innovation with this new vehicle that has so much potential, I recommend the following:
If the purpose of a token is for investment, it must register with the SEC.
If the purpose of a token is for societal transformation, and all proceeds go to the support and development of the token, it need not register.
If the purpose of a token is to raise money for a company, and the money is used to support the company, it must register with the SEC.
These clear definitions can help in two ways. They can make it clear that this is not a way for existing companies to raise money from the public without registering with the SEC, and it will allow the amazing innovations allowed by this new technology to flourish in our country unfettered. We will both protect the individual investor, and allow the U. S. to continue to lead as an innovator. I want the U.S. to be able to share in this bright future rather than giving all the benefits to countries like Switzerland, Singapore and Japan, who have taken leadership positions in the Crypto industry.
Any tokens issued before October 30, 2017 should be grandfathered in. In the land of opportunity, the innovators should be celebrated.
Please let me know if you think these guidelines make sense.
Best,

Tim Draper, Venture Capitalist

Great open letter from Tim Draper. Also some good publicity for Bancor :-)

How do investors make money by investing in this ICO? Can anyone give some suggestions..
I was told there will be a filter to block certain content. Is that correct?
Are you know what is ICOs crowdsale? If you not know can read more in: https://www.smithandcrown.com/what-is-an-ico/

It as a new type IPO and you will buy a token with cheap price + bonus program if investing pre-crowdsale, then waiting listed exchange and you can earning profit with high price than the price you bought from crowdsale. This is a simple define.

I think he means what the value of a token will be, and how the value of a token can increase over time.
1172  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bancor | Protocol for Smart-tokens, solving the liquidity problem on: July 24, 2017, 02:38:49 PM
Bancor also moved little bit upwards along with other markets. I think the trend will change sooner and in this hope I bought little more to reduce the price difference. It is hard to predict where the price will reach but it will be up again at ICO in near future this is my only predict and I am confident about this.

The price going up is inevitable it is just a matter of when, the main problem with this project started from the first day when the developers decided to change the terms of their ICO but with time things will change for better

Actually right now Bancor has already almost climbed back to ICO's price vs Ether. That's a very good sign.

Bancor to the moon!
1173  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][OAX] openANX - Real World Application of Decentralized Exchanges on: July 24, 2017, 02:36:49 PM
It is all fine for me as well. Everything is verified and waiting for next steps of releasing. I think market has recovered successfully and now we can see lot of green markets unlike how it was few days ago. OAX should see appreciation and succeed to hold the floor at above ICO level without any issue. Not every project slipped under ICO price recently some stayed up too.

OAX isn't just another ICO. It is one of the best.

I should have invested more :-)
1174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Suretly - first crowdvouching platform ★ ICO July,11 ★ on: July 23, 2017, 02:13:32 PM
I've spend 2 ETH in Suretly ICO a longer time ago. I can see my investment on Suretly Dashboard. Now my question:

How and WHEN will I get my SUR on "myEtherWallet"?

Is there any adress and token-symbol and dezimal I have to linked on myEtherWallet to see the SUR-token there?

And when would they distribute the SUR-token to my "myEtherWallet"?

I miss this information on the Suretly ICO-page.

Not before August 11, when the ICO ends.
1175  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Suretly - first crowdvouching platform ★ ICO July,11 ★ on: July 23, 2017, 12:01:36 PM
What happened to raised funds? I can swear i saw it was over $1.9M and today i see it is 1,843,196.
Strange, it looks like you raised 200$ in 5 days, is it some kind of bug?

edit
I reloaded site and now it says 1,842,517$ raised  Huh

The value of the crypto contributed fluctuates every second, therefore the capital raised also fluctuates. If BTC and ETH are worth $10000 tomorrow, they suddenly reach their max cap.
1176  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Experience during the last crash(dip) on: July 23, 2017, 10:44:51 AM
This is typical of a new trader who doesn't really have a plan, other than to make money. You need to come up with a trading plan and stick to it no matter what happens in the market.

What you need to do is study the histories of all the coins you own as well as a few of the more successful ones you may not own yet. Look at longer term charts (6 months, 1 year, 3 year) and look to see what kind of big moves can happen over say a month or two time-frame. You will see some coins that increase 3x or more, but most of the time a 2x or close to it (1.9x, 1.8x, etc.) rise is also common. Pick the gain that you are comfortable with and also note how long this usually takes, to make a complete cycle. Then buy into a coin, or hold ones you already have, until you reach your predetermined return then immediately sell without looking back.

You already indicated you were at one point up 2x or $20,000 from a $10,000 investment. If you would have had a plan at that point and the discipline to execute it, you would have had a nice profit going already. By just winging it, you start to sabotage your own efforts, as when the price of something rises you start thinking, wow, if I hold out longer I will make 3x, or even 4x and so on. Usually this does not come to pass. Also when you sell to early and the price keeps going up you may start thinking boy, I was wrong and now I am going to miss the boat, buy back in and bamm, a little bit later the price starts tanking.

By having a plan and setting up realistic profit goals, and realistic time-frame for this to occur, you will have a much better success rate. Sure sometime you can see coins rise 2x, 3x, or more in a day, but this is pretty much just pure gambling if you expect to guess these trades correctly. It is better to pick some coins with a good trading history, a lot of trading volume, and at least some type of plan, vision, and uniqueness to it as well as developer and community support behind it so its not just a copy/paste coin that may pump/dump a couple times before it disappears. Then look for lows to buy in, basically the inverse of your gain goal, so for a 2x goal look for coins that are down 50% or more from a recent high (and by recent I mean look for last couple months, not just the last two days). These will have the best chance of recovering and making you some nice profits.

Also you can adjust your plan somewhat as actually aiming for 2x is probably unrealistic all the time, so maybe make it 1.5x returns to start which is still pretty awesome if you think about it. Then when you make your target execute it and don't dwell on things like "if I held longer I would have made more". Over the long term you will only notice the times this happens but would not notice the times this would back fire on you by going off plan.

The last thing I will leave you with is just from reading your post I believe you are trying to rush into this way too much. You already indicated you made some gains, but are pissed at yourself because you feel lost your $10,000 profit. Remember, it is not profit until you execute the other end of the round trip, i.e. selling coins you bought low or buying back coins you sold high (shorting). We can all look at charts with 20/20 hind-site and kick ourselves for not doing this or that, but at the time it is not so clear. Be happy you walked away with some profit at all and not a 50% loss. Learn to be happy with a nice gain of 50% or so in a month or two time-frame. Anywhere but Crypto these types of returns in such a short time frame would be unheard of, so don't beat yourself up too much for only making 20-25% or whatever you made. Money sitting in a bank somewhere would only make maybe 3-4% a year!

Thank you for this. Couldn't agree more and couldn't add anything more :-)

I've been thinking about the applicability of the token and the growth abilities in terms of x5 or x10. I'm wondering if thats possible.

What do you guys think?

I think 5x is doable by the end of the year. The way how they handled  their ICO was very professional. This company is well organized and well run by a savvy CEO.

Wow is that 5x from current price? Does that mean its a good investment right now?

Pulling numbers out of nowhere does not make good investment advice.

I have invested and believe in this project to become a success, but please don't invest based on random numbers a stranger came up with on the internet.

Yes, don't ever invest in something you don't understand or due diligence. My statement is purely  on speculation and based on my personal thesis why I think Civic is valuable. With a current market of 65 Mil I believe it is feasible for Civic to achieve 325 Mil by the end of year assuming that the # of circulation tokens are unchanged. Please do your own homework and come up with your own thesis.

Isn't this forum the perfect place to ask for other people's ideas? I'm reading so many "commands" that people should do this or should do that (for instance: do you own homework and come up with your own thesis). I'm new to crypto, don't have any affinity with code or software and English is not my native language. Sometimes I don't get white papers or developments. That doesn't mean I don't enjoy investing and taking a gamble. Please don't compare people with yourself. Thank you.

which exchange will ANX be listed on and when?

Distribution is going to take place on 29th of this month. Many do believe at the same time there will be some announcement about opening markets to trade at different platforms. We should expect Bittrex at the moment the biggest among expected exchange on or immediately after the completion of distribution.

Wondering if this project will also open at the exchanges at near or below ICO price, like many (or almost all of the) past ICO's.

But what about the benefit/usage of the token? Can the project itself (nog just the organization) achieve x5 or x10?

CVC can be used in many ways in Civic ecosystem:

For example, if we want to run a background check you will pay with CVC tokens in lieu of USD. You can apply this to applying to a bank loan, credit report, and other third party service that build on top of Civic.

The good thing about Civic ecosystem once the information is stored within the ecosystem it can be quickly retrieve so a background check will be instant.

Thank you for the explanation. Project is more clear for me now :-)
