It looks like fun, but at a whole bitcoin to play most of the games (and a bitcoin being worth upwards of 6 USD at this point), it's a bit more expensive than I want in a game. I think you need to update the prices to match the massive growth of bitcoin value.
I agree, of course there could (And should ) be high stakes, but at this point, I think most games should have bitcent options.

Any chance for a reupload somewhere? I want to see the inappropriateness the title suggests!

Hmm, I'm having a different sort of problem, though. I can't connect using the Ufasoft bitcoin-miner 0.10 CPU miner, it stays at 0 MHash/sec. These are the contents of the .bat I'm using to connect: start /D "C:\Users\ChaosFox\Documents" bitcoin-miner.exe -o http://btcguild.com:8332 -u ChaosFox_xxxxxxxx -p xxxxxxxx I can't spot any mistake, and it's pretty much the same I've been using to connect to other pools before. EDIT: I found the possible cause of the issues: After some work with luke-jr, I can now say that ufasoft now works with his pool (Eligius). Typical command line bitcoin-miner.exe -a 5 -o http://pool.bitcoin.dashjr.org:8337 -u <your bitcoin address> -p <whatever> what i like about luke's pool is that you can use port 80 too (great for NATs) and you don't need to register on a website, you just send the payment address in the user and you receive payments when they go above 1 BTC. I saw there were posts here having problems with bitpenny pool too so i will write what solved the issue here (it might be the same problem there). The problem used to be: after running bitcoin-miner.exe, it would just get stuck on 0 MH/sec. the problem was with the pool because it didn't obey this requirement: "The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.47) containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource." This was fixed.

I had some fun with The Great Wall today, my best play was only around 7 pictures though. Still, this is a nice concept, I'll be surely dropping some spare change into this game if I'm feeling lucky (punk).

ChaosFox, feel free to send me your bitcoin address when you send me the vector file. Or if you prefer, I can use the address in your signature.
PM sent. And great job, joeydangerous! :O Your drawing looks amazing!

|

Done! If you decide to pick my drawing, I'll send you the .svg file as well, as it's a vector image, it can be scaled as you wish. :3 I can tweak it too if needed. (And, feel free to search for it in TinEye. )

Wow, you people are fast. Not done with mine yet, as I decided to vectorize it. But the rough sketch is done, so I'mma post a WIP:

Hmm, this sounds interesting. I'll give it a try later today and post the results. EDIT: Done with the ninja mouse, now the cat.

I just registered under this pool and started mining. I have to wait around 2 days before I get any payments? I also don't see any option to choose PPS or proportional, is it only proportional now?
The pool is on proportional scored based rewarding system only. You don't necessarily have to wait 2 days. You can set your payout threshold as low as 1 BTC I think, and have to wait for 120 confirmations on solved blocks for the reward to be available in your balance. That's anywhere between 20 to 5 hours depending how fast the network is compared to difficulty. I set mine as 0.10 BTC, so it can be certainly lower. Like this I usually get a payment per day, two if I'm lucky. The wait for 120 confirmations is reasonable IMO, which is what most pools have anyway. Decided to move here for a while, with my ~20Mhash/sec rig, whee!

It would seem someone just went on a -1'ing spree. With only 8 posts and I already have one? Come on! If I'm going to be smitten, I want to at least feel I deserved it.

What can I say, I'm really glad this wonderful is back to action. I briefly tried other mining pools, but I don't know, it always seems like it takes way longer for me to get shares for it. Let it running nearly all day while working on my programming project and barely got 0.09 BTC when my rewards with Slush's pool would be closer to 0.15 or even 0.20 if I get lucky. I really don't want to switch over to another pool, as the alternatives don't seem nearly as attractive.

I play very ocassionally, or rather, would play if I would ever had found people to play with and to learn the basics from properly. The few cards I have were bought locally, but yeah, tournaments with Magic Workstation with BTC as an entry fee sound interesting.

Ooh, I like this. You might be having another client in a near future. Question, any plans to expand to other kinds of prepaid cards? Been looking to exchange Bitcoin for, say, Ultimate Game Card, or PayByCash, but haven't seen too many offers for that so far.

I don't know, I believe mining will remain profitable for a while longer. If difficulty increases too much, it means several miners will no longer find it profitable and will leave, even if just temporally, thus decreasing difficulty until a balance point is reached. Not to mention that BTC can increase its value, too. I don't really know what to say about ASIC miners, though. Though, I'm not a big miner. In fact, I just mine with a crappy 9600 GT when I'm not using my computer a lot, and while I pay peanuts for power, I don't think I'd buy a dedicated mining rig.

Hmm, nice thingy to keep my pseudonymous identities in a single place Oh yeah, one question :S I have successfully verified an e-mail address and an OTC identity, but when trying to do so with a Bitcoin address, even after checking the transaction to myself has several confirmations, I'm met with this error: Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /var/alternc/html/b/bitcoin/web/bitcoin-contact.org/index.php on line 179 Am I doing something wrong?
|
|
|
Hmm, interesting. I'll give it a try sometime, if I decide to establish a more serious business of any sort using BTC. As for now, I'll be using a more pseudonymous approach and hope that my OTC-WOT ratings and bitcoinKarma will help to tell others I could be reliable. This would be the next step of sorts, forgoing any anonymity and setting in stone your identity, if a greater degree of trust is required. All in all, I like this.

Getting a 502 Bad Gateway error on the main page right now, even though my miners can connect fine. Hmmm.
