Private key space is 2^256 but address space is only 2^160, so there are effectively 2^160 possible addresses. When you're creating a new address, what you're essentially doing is generating a random number between 1 and 2^160 (1,461,501,637,330,902,918,203,684,832,716,283,019,655,932,542,976). Due to how large this space is, it is all but impossible for the same number to be generated twice. Oversimplified of course, but that's the gist of it.

Not new, quite old actually... Some of the more advanced variants even store huge amounts of addresses so they can match up the first few characters of the address, making it look to be the correct address, at a glance.

Several altcoins already have such functionality. It goes against the decentralized nature of the software. I'm not a fan of it.

No staking rewards means people are going to set their reservebalance to maximum and stop staking, which leaves your network vulnerable to attack. I wouldn't recommend it.

Download an archived older wallet from around the time the wallet.dat is dated (right click properties) and use that to dump the keys via debug console.

Yes... This has been happening for years now. Pretty much every wallet throws a false positive of some sort. Nothing to worry about.
