Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you truly believe in cryptocurrency

I believe in tech. but I don't believe anymore that BTC Core (Blockstream) guys are doing BTC and crypto best at the moment. Capping blocks to 1mb to force users open Lighting Network channels (off-chain scaling) definetely wasn't a good idea. Maybe they are doing for Blockstream (and puppets) profit, I don't know, but scaling should be ON-CHAIN and Sathoshi never said blocks had to stay capped, he said the contrary: - https://imgur.com/a/AqBYMSatoshi clearly stated that there was no block limit, so, in my opinion, more or less hidden forces are artificially manipulating BTC scaling and, at last, its value. Even if many more altcoins exist, with many good tech. and even better than BTC, market is too much BTC dependent, so BTC should be able to give example and scale fast. It's not. So, in short words, this crypto war (BTC vs BCH) and a bit too much FOMO and speculation, damaged crypto world, even if a new improved version of Bitcoin maybe has born and it's good, but there will need a compact community to make it grow strong again.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty is dead :(

Bounty is not dead, many projects are, and after BTC january drop people had to face reality that easy money is not so easy anymore. In the meantime many more people started to do Bounties (FOMO) but tokens are not so valuable as they were few months ago (when many ICOs would have done easy 3-7x when first hitting exchange) so, yeah, maybe you do a little more job e for a little less, but if you focus on deep projects and\or undervalued ones you can still obtain a good profit and do useful post to help crypto rise again. But don't forget recent Google\Facebook crypto ads ban, this is a good thing for Bounties, seeing they are now one of the main ways to share about projects and let people know about them.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse in a recent interview said: "Major Banks to use xRapid This Year & Dozens in 2019" ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvbZO980YcI). Moreover SBI Virtual Currencies Exchange that pairs cryptos to XRP has debuted recently (and it's a Japan based bank-backed regulated crypto exchange). Add this to recently announcement Codius is re-born ( http://fortune.com/2018/06/06/ripple-codius/, it brings smart contracts to XRP Ledger and it can dialoguate with different languages). Yeah, there are several reason bulls will be back soon to XRP world (that dropped so much during January). Anyway it's also dependent on BTC value and these Bart Simpsoned drops we are seeing these days aren't very good.

|
on: June 06, 2018, 04:06:40 PM

Two factors: people are scared of losing their money, speculators dominate market.
1) Masses usually get in FOMO mode and they buy near highs, then they sell quite low (losing at last part of their money); 2) It's clear whales can move market as they like mostly even if in this case there have been many good news (Bittrex banking, Circle looking for banking, SBI Exchange opened with banking support, even if it has currently closed registrations and just 20,000 members are trading).
I don't get why people are scared when a government regulates, shouldn't crypto be censorship-government-resistant (even if mining maybe is not)?
Fingers crossed and HODL.

In my opinion Facebook represents old-banksters power so spreading information about blockchain is a danger for those who financed it, anyway ICOs and SCAM spams are going a little too far than optimal level and I agree in banning those type of fake announcements. Fortunately there are still many ways to be updated starting from this forum and Twitter (thousands of profiles talk every minute about cryptos and ICOs). I don't stay with regulators, it should be a free world, but Facebook is private thing and it can do whatever it wants. Last but not least Facebook is working in its own blockchain project so it wants to hide competitors.

"The stock market is a device for transferring money from the impatient to the patient." - Warren Buffett Maybe it's even more true about crypto, if you have invested in serious projects. Finally a bounce is seen, thanks to good news like: 'Chinese President Xi Jinping, arguably the most powerful politician in the world today, said blockchain breakthrough is reshaping global economic structure.' ( https://twitter.com/iamjosephyoung/status/1001811469653159940) And South Korea talking about lifting crypto ban. Moreover a little confidence is rebounding, every 3 seconds there is a new post related to Bitcoin on social media. From forums to mainstream social media channels like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and others, Cryptocurrency is trending. Bad news are about the 51% attacks of some small cryptos and the fact that not much is needed in money to gain the 51% according to this website: - https://www.crypto51.app/ and most of the hashrate can be rented from NiceHash, which removes the fixed asset costs of the attack Let's hope many coins are watching at their security and patience it will be key. If cryptos are, instead, so weak to attacks (even if BTC and LTC, ETH and some more other seems secure with this respect) there will be more blood on the market.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Ripple the currency of the future?
|
on: May 29, 2018, 01:46:17 PM

It's really difficult to say seeing much depends on institution large-scale adoption. Today RippleNet has more than 150 customers all around the world, Ripple (the company) has worked with Bank of England and XRP (the currency) has being succesfully tested by the FED and even by real money transfer businesses (like Stantander, Mercury FX and Western Union). Santander's App is already out after succesfull pilot, almost feeless and with great speed in transfer. XRP ledger is almost feeless and very fast (4 seconds to full process a crypto to crypto transfer) so it's a very good products for a lot of customers, banks in primis. Good features then, even if many say its consensus is centralized, but adoption has to get more and stronger signals to answer your question. Definetely a crypto to be followed.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin or litecoin ?
|
on: May 29, 2018, 01:40:38 PM
|
Litecoin is faster version of BTC, it typical adpots first new tech. solutions (like SegWit or Lighting Network), it has 2,5 minutes blocktime versus 10 minutes of Bitcoin, then it typically process transactions faster and with lower fees. It has large adoption, even if less than BTC. Bitcoin is most secure crypto network with regarding to 51% attacks thanks to 35,372.22 PH/s (Coinwarz), near All-Time High. BTC is still more profitable to mine and base currency in most exchanges but LTC is more future oriented, seeing it's faster on-chain (but there exist coins even faster). LTC's supply is 4x more (blocktime is 4x less) and this of course influences single coin value.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin under 1$ to invest in now?
|
on: May 28, 2018, 06:22:21 PM

It's not just "under 1$" the factor you should consider, seeing that most cryptos have different circulating and total supply so, logically and matematically, the value of each coin is determined in primis by this simple fact. Apart from this you should start from surfing this forum and analyzing announcements, website, documentations, community support (and Telegram\Discord channels) and development of many coins. Then choose basing on your own researches which to follow or which to buy. I know they are too many but it's not so difficult to understand than most project doesn't have a long term view (with respect to adoption too). Starting from this and looking at their position on CoinMarketCap if you think some of the coins you found has a lot of potential that is not reflected in ranking maybe you should buy a stack of it.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are the reasons behind banning cryptos?
|
on: May 28, 2018, 06:14:09 PM
|
Banksters all around the world and their puppets want the control of money creation, inflow, outflow and transfers in general. Governments are today bankers frontmen seeing that most central banks around the world are private institutions so they have to borrow from them money for which people pay interests. Bitcoin and crypto in general grant permissionless creation and transfer of money so they are a huge danger for those that have money monopoly. That's essentially why they are trying to ban cryptos.

People, watch out, DRP and DRPU are being DELISTED by Cryptopia that has already suspended markets. It seems the only other markets available are MercatoX for DRP and HitBTC for DRPU! Make your withdraw as soon as possible, it seems connections are at 0 level or almost, it won't be easy!

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you still believe in the bright future of Crypto?
|
on: May 27, 2018, 06:59:35 AM

I knew about crypto at the end of 2017, after a short time increase and make people crazy to invest, everything is down now. I'm not a trader, i'm just a holder, but i'm still afraid of the sign of market recently. Will everything be changed in next year? or several years later? Can i still invest in crypto?
Yours are questions nobody can really answer. Nobody in fact has crystal ball. It's clear 2017 craziness is not present anymore. Now we are really in front of two possibilities: 1) it was a speculative bubble driven by market manipulation and unjustified hype and it has burst, so we are slowly going down to end of crypto after the december\january big drop; 2) it was just too much FOMO at the end of 2017, price are now near their fair value and sooner or later market will rebound, because cryptos grant financial freedom and they do have real value. We all hope it's the 2) but I am not feeling confident anymore in investing new money on it because it could also be the 1). In short: stay patient and don't risk money you can't afford to lose. These are my 2 cents.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS - Asynchronous Smart Contract Platform - (Dan Larimer of Bitshares/Steem)
|
on: May 27, 2018, 06:55:00 AM

Will Binance support a new token?
Yes, Binance announced they will support main net token swap, so if you put your EOS there they will manage the entire swap process for you and holding EOS token there will result in having new EOS coin as soon as mainnet is available and they complete the snapshot, so, not registration needed or anything else is required for manual swap. In this case it's much easier to keep them on the exchange than on your ETH wallet and do the process yourself. Of course always remember tokens\coins on an exchange means you don't have access to private key so they aren't really yours in case of exchange failure (see MtGox).

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Price ETZ? EtherZero (0 fee, instant Tx) dominate as biggest volume in Cryptopia
|
on: May 24, 2018, 09:33:34 AM
|
I remember when ETZ caused so much hype and FOMO a few months ago. Sadly, it's such a small little project that doesn't seem worth the penny.
Why? Marketing is bad, development is bad, the roadmap is fake. Why would i invest in such a coin when there are other projects out there that have obviously put more time work and professional effort into developing something new and innovative.
I must quote every single word. They announced it like the biggest ETH fork to pump it the most, it's actually same old tech., 10 sec. blocktime (istant Tx are not real, they are doing it with istantsend like MANY other Masternode based coins around), dApps are not real too, website is almost empty with respect to documentation, they have just a roadmap. They are promising 10.000 TPS without real stress test. Big numbers, few things real, that's all.

Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price < $3000 soon
|
on: May 24, 2018, 09:14:01 AM
|
It's definetely a possibility even if thread started hasn't given any single reason for it. Price has been manipulated, maybe too much, and bear market is no near to end, bad news are coming everyday, today is the day of CFTC and US Justice Department trading bad practices crackdown (see Bloomberg), of course it could turn into a good news in long term but today this will just lead to a new crash, definetely not needed. Right now BTC is collapsing: http://bitcointicker.co/stamp/btc/usd/24hr/ (new BitStamp 24h low: 7310$). So maybe OP was just provoking us but it could be right. 2017 has been best year for crypto. 2018 is maybe going to be the worst. Moreover BTC is showing its limit ( 1MB block limit has lead us to a slow and expensive txs coin), it does not seem so revolutionary anymore. We need bright news, new tech. coins and decentralized exchanges to change cards in play.

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When will end the hype of ICO ?
|
on: May 23, 2018, 07:40:04 AM
|
Every day more and more ICO collect money, and then disappear. Do you think we need sanctions for ICO?
If ICO is fraudolent it is already sanctioned seeing fraud is a crime even if committed through 'unregulated' ICOs. Anyway I think hype has already ended or at least has seen an unprecedent drawback after BTC peak in December. Before the BTC drop ICOs were easily reaching soft and hard cap, now it is not so easy and we are seeing many token burns. In the long run good projects will be good, money harvesting one will slowly die. Always do you deep own research and you will be good.
