742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: June 17, 2017, 08:53:43 AM
Hey guys need some help please I've installed the Factom Enterprise wallet and it just gives me a failure to connect message even with VPN activated as follows:

Unable to connect to factomd instance. The wallet is at 'localhost:8088' for it's factomd instance. If this is set locally you must download the latest factomd and run it until it is synced

I've downloaded and unzipped the blockchain to the folder specified below as described on the setup instructions page below.

~/.factom/m2/main-database/ldb/MAIN/factoid_level.db/

https://docs.factom.com/#before-you-begin

And I've tried restarting the wallet a couple of times, but there is no improvement with the problem.

Some help would be much appreciated.

What kind of firewall or AV do you have? It seems to me as if something s blocking connection.
The best option is to join Factom slack, there is a link on page 1 of this thread. You can find official support there.
743  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Beware of new scam giga watt miner hosting on: June 17, 2017, 05:13:27 AM
I fully agree with the previous comment. Opt for running your own rig and forget about Bitmain and Gigawatt.

None of these companies enables you to select which coin u d like to mine.
744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: June 17, 2017, 05:04:16 AM
Nice price jump today, sell side s being reduced again. Go Factom!
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will RSK be the savior for Bitcoin?? on: June 16, 2017, 06:38:38 AM
What is RSK? Please share additional info if possible. I do not think this would be possible, there have been attempts before.
Look what happens when u try to merge mine Ether and Decred, not many GPUs can sustain this for a long time. How would this work for BTC/LTC since there re different algos.
746  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Bitssurfer.com upto 25 Satoshi per site surf in Manual TE & 130% Revshare on: June 16, 2017, 06:28:50 AM
How long have you been online? I see you have paid 1.5 BTC so far so I d like to know how long have you been providing this service?
747  Economy / Exchanges / Re: How to buy Bitcoins from Poloniex using Debit Card? on: June 16, 2017, 06:27:22 AM
Why does it have to be Poloniex? Use other services, cex.io accept CC payment, their prices re a bit above average but there should not be a problem for you since I suppose you wont be buying larger amounts if you pay by CC.

Let me know if you need help.

Cheers.
748  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BITSTAMP insane KYC questions on: June 15, 2017, 06:16:20 PM
Without these kind of questions we have a situation where top ranked countries for Googling the term "Bitcoin" re Nigeria and Columbia. So, scams and drugs.

Now, you tell me, why it would be in my interest to be part of an economy which might be primary used for scams, money laundering and drug trafficing.

If you have nothing to hide, do that KYC and welcome to crypto. If you do have something to hide, what do you expect me to do?
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Another successful short by Jihan & Ver on: June 15, 2017, 03:26:37 PM
The newbies fall for this.. time and again. The short term speculators too, because they react to the price and not the news that are causing the

dip. Jihan is definitely not acting on his own... I think a lot of his miners buddies are in on this too... and family members and friends invested in

Bitcoin. The Bitcoin price can be manipulated, if a bunch of whales act together.  Angry Angry Angry Angry

Fuck this "newbies fall for this". In order for them to pull this one through, someone needs to SELL their BTC and cause these dumps. This is not just them dumping.
Those who sell BTC at these prices purchased them at higher price and are panic selling.

If you re so stupid to fall for this every single time, well, you deserve to lose money.

Fortunately, as it happened many times before, after this kind of dump, things get back to normal withing a couple of weeks time. Sorry for the weak hands, they will obviously lose money. Hope they learn from this.
750  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best exhange on: June 15, 2017, 07:11:40 AM
Polo s been my number 1 choice even though they do have some issues with scaling up recently, due to huge influx of users. Issues re mainly related to support being a bit slow.

I also like Bittrex, a bit lower volume but no problem with them so far whatsoever.

I hear liqui.io s trying to build something nice and possibly introduce margin lending/funding. If they do, will try to use that one as well.
751  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to make serious money by investing into Proof-of-stake – PoS on: June 15, 2017, 07:09:15 AM
As usual, BTC price goes down $500, DMD Diamond remains stable as a ROCK!
752  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Goldpayfinance is f**cking scam, DONT WASTE UR MONEY on: June 15, 2017, 07:08:28 AM
These scam websites get more and more creative every day. Still, whoever falls for this kind of transparent scam should not be into any kind of online investing.
753  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] FACTOM - Introducing Honesty to Record-Keeping on: June 15, 2017, 07:06:24 AM
I have 4 transactions that where not send to the blockchain but are withdrawn from my balance. Total of 1079 factom is missing or in limbo Cry appearently its a polo problem so I will submit a ticket .. pfff last ticket took weeks before resolved. This is caused by the network of factom being down a lot I think? So better to check slack everytime when withdrawing funds ..? What a hassle but no other way I think

You do not need to check slack. Check this one out.

http://status.factom.com/

It tells you if the network is operational.

All in all, I do not expect these issues anymore in the future.

Thanks mate will check that out next time

No problem, as you can see, you can even register to get regular updates if something happens. However, as I ve said, I really hope these issue re behind us. Factom needs stability and client base will grow.
754  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: BankBTC.cc 2% for 100 hours? on: June 14, 2017, 02:58:51 PM
Anyone try this site out? Sounds too good to be...

www.bankbtc.cc

Really? Hm? R u sure? Could this be legit? Maybe they hate money so much they want to give it to you for free.

Hm? What do you think about just another PONZI SCAMMER WEBSITE trying to steal your money?

Please do not pollute our precious crypto space by promoting these kind of websites. There s no free money, you need to work for it.
755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Diamond (DMD) Evolution v 2.0 | Hybrid Security | 25% PoS on: June 14, 2017, 06:37:54 AM
It would be nice to reach .001 BTC/DMD and sit there for a while... start v3 on a fresh page and level. Wishful thinking? Maybe, but time's ticking to fill an mn by v3 launch, we've seen lots of buy pressure the last couple weeks at least partly due to this, as well as other exciting developments. I think the future is bright for DMD, I picked it as a place to store money because mathematically it does offer a strong return to those patient enough, but more directly, I picked DMD bc after reading through dozens and dozens of pages of this thread and others, and hearing from others, I came to the conclusion those involved in it were involved for the right reason. It seemed a cryptocurrency forged out of passion alone, its success determinable by nothing but organic interest arising out of pseudo-random market inspirations. This may feel like the high-point to some of you, I've seen some sells large enough to make me wonder if some are taking off. It seems like some holders either don't want or don't feel like it can get past .001 (or maybe they're trying to help as many people get cheap DMD while it still is under .001?).

All I know is I'm not selling. I've now had my wallet minting long enough to know these returns are serious, mn or not, and with interest in DMD currently piquing and only seeming to rise (especially with some of the marketing efforts mentioned as starting or to come)... you'd be hard-pressed to get me to sell them to you. I am still buying too... slowly but surely. I don't put buy orders out there and wait for someone to sell to me anymore. I find that no matter how far down the value-line I put a buy order, it always gets filled! No matter what, it's like my orders are magnetized or something. I tried putting orders way low... just to add support.... next morning? Nope, no support allowed for you, buy order filled.  I don't like lowering the price in order for my buy order to fill, since I already have some DMD at stake, I just buy outright, at the times that seem wisest to me. The reason I have stuck here for a while and will continue to do so, is because I see huge growth potential for a cryptocurrency arising so organically... and one that has been here a long time, has been through it all, and just these last few months seems to have awoken. I say I'd like to see it at .001... to be completely honest, I have a feeling we'll see a Diamond (DMD) valued right up there with a 1 carat diamond, in this lifetime.

Diamonds have a complex valuation system and therefore it is difficult to determine the price of one carat for DMD.
I would suggest an evaluation system to BTC of 1:100(1000)
Suppose 1 BTC = 100k $
Then 1 DMD = 1k$ (100$)

If 1 BTC = 3k $
Then 1 DMD = 30$ (3$)
Smiley

But it seems to me that the developers relate to the price of DMD more restrained Smiley

Well, we have stated several times DMD s not based on pumps and we will not give forecasts here which might look like pumping the price. DMD growth so far has been a natural growth, based on supply, demand and hard work. This is why once DMD reaches certain price level, IT STAYS THERE, regardless of Bitcoin price going down $400 or so.

This is why we value slower but constant growth since this is, after all, a long term project designed to provide long term income for its holders. No, it wont reach $100 over night. Smiley

COLD STORAGE! COLD STORAGE! COLD STORAGE! An offline wallet cannot be accessed and consequently hacked.
757  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Are genesis and hashflare trustable? on: June 14, 2017, 06:29:31 AM
I d say both re OK in terms of trust.

The problem is ROI. You need to be EXTREMELY careful and constantly reinvest large chunk of your profits in order to reach ROI. If I would have to choose between two, I d go with Hashflare.

759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin for Retirement on: June 13, 2017, 06:22:50 PM
I somehow do not think 1 BTC would be enough, regardless of a country you live in.

10-20 BTC, that might suffice.

My transaction stuck in Polo for 2 days already, it shows on polo history with txid but never sent to blockchain. Support doesn't answer for more than 24hrs. I made new transactions and they did go trough... Weird, did someone experienced something similar with polo?

I had a similar issue with a small transaction over a month ago. Still now word from support. They do have an issue with lots of traffic so I suggest patience. It ll get resolved.
