In storing bitcoin for safe keeping it is the best to keep it free off internet connection hence the offline wallet is the best option, This will not be accessed by anyone wishing to force and take your bitcoin

345  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Theresa's Jihadis | UK Election on 8th June on: June 08, 2017, 08:40:37 AM
Following this story, Theresa May, being the Home Secretary was a corporate to all this Arab crisis in Saudi and Syria for a reward for this Jihadis. The whole Britain is paying for a decision a few crook politicians made. My take is fish all this Jihadist out and deport them home

In developing countries bitcoin transactions are not taxable since the government does not have structures in place to regulate the sector. How can this be an advantage to miners in this parts of the world and what could be the possible illegalities after new laws are introduced

350  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crime funded by bitcoin on: June 07, 2017, 09:11:32 PM
Bitcoin is not anonymous. Every transaction is recorded in aa ledger so it is almost impossible to be off the grib with transactions. Using bitcoin for crime is done the same way all other currencies can be used.
351  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is useless or is it? on: June 07, 2017, 09:00:07 PM
The transition fee is a big issue and it is not advisable to make small transactions and daily payments otherwise you will be losing a lot to transaction fee. To my best of knowledge this fees are what miners feed on. And it is needed to sustain mining.
352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Saving bitcoins on: June 07, 2017, 08:55:30 PM
For now I dont know of any banking transaction that works with bitcoin. The whole bitcoin concept is a threat to cash banking therefore if you still want to save in a bank vault then you need to convert your money into USD. But I recommend you hold on to the coin. With level of appreciation and depending on your local currency inflation you might gain more than expected in mo time

355  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Currency storage suggestions on: June 07, 2017, 05:48:47 PM
gubyy,

Welcome to the forum and the world created from Bitcoin. First thing to know, you're going to find a ton of different opinions here. From "yes" to "no" to everything in between...for every question you ask. Take each opinion in do some of your own thinking to make the best decision possible.

What percentage is this $1200 of your total savings? if it's 10% or greater you should consider offline storage. The risk is low that you'll lose your coins from Coinbase or the other major exchanges, but it has happened once in the past to a major exchange and therefore everyone is skittish.

You'll hear the phrase "if you don't own your private keys, you don't own bitcoin." This is true. But it's no different than the cash you leave in your local bank.

The reality is that if someone steals your coins it's nearly impossible to get them back and this is why most people use offline storage for the bulk of their savings. So you need to think about what amount of money are you willing to lose. If this $1200 is all of your savings, protect it as best you can.

Here's a list of several different wallets based on what you're looking for: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet

Good luck to you!

i found this really insightful. But my deduction from this is bitcoin is as safe as offline storage. Thank you

357  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorist siege in the Philippines. on: June 07, 2017, 03:09:02 PM
The internet and the world becoming a global village has also aided terrorism. How will a gang in Philippines swear allegiance to a terror group thousands of miles away. How will a young student get the ideas to become a suicide bomber. Heavens save us all

359  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: List of court cases, complaints, regulatory actions, etc. on: June 07, 2017, 02:19:12 PM
Good article on bitcoin and legality. Bitcoin is not so popular in developing world and there are less LIs to regulate the sector but most courts are prosecuting using the business regulations
