1  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BlockChain.info Warning: Blockchain.com is a phishing site on: April 01, 2014, 04:04:36 PM
You could probably also contact google and let them know what happened if you clicked on the site and lost money due to malware. I feel like Google would be happy to give you their info, especially with a court order.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For those of you who say governments can't ban bitcoin on: March 30, 2014, 07:51:32 PM
I say goodluck to any government who thinks it is easy to seize a Bitcoin wallet. Maybe people should start using brainwallets so that they can always access their funds even if a government thinks they "seized" the wallet. You still can't kill it, there will still be people who use it, it will just be pushed underground. Even if a government will punish someone by death if they use i, there will still be people who use it, just as there are people who will kill others even though it can be a offense punishable by death in many places.
3  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: 0.02 BTC giveaway for the worst pickup line ever :-) on: March 30, 2014, 07:22:04 PM
Pretty certain there were 2 winners, contest is long over, but some of these are pretty funny.
4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are private keys safe? on: March 30, 2014, 07:09:08 PM
The chances that someone could randomly generate your private key is so low, that its just not going to happen, at least with any kind of technology we can think of or comprehend at this point in time.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Apple removing last bitcoin wallet from AppStore Survey on: March 30, 2014, 07:00:24 PM
People still buy Apple products? Damn, people must have a ton of money to spend if they can afford to buy a phone that practically places in 1 new stupid feature everytime they come out with a "new" phone. It is sort of sad to see all of the drones doing this.
6  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin lost >50% of hashrate, what happened ? on: March 30, 2014, 06:47:50 PM
Never get your sources of information from one place, otherwise you may end up with the wrong information.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fiatleak.com showing massive, ongoing BTC buying from China on: March 30, 2014, 06:43:17 PM
It wouldn't surprise me if the majority of the buys are fake.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wow! This is kind-of an exciting way to look at bitcoin on: March 30, 2014, 06:41:22 PM
No doubt that companies, especially banks will look at the technology behind Bitcoin and try to replicate it into something governments can regulate easier.
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason American government hates Bitcoin on: March 30, 2014, 06:36:18 PM
Two prominent reasons why a government may not like Bitcoin are;
1) Bitcoin can't be as fully regulated as the USD or any standard fiat currency can opening it to more nefarious purposes.
2) Banks and companies that make tons of money with the insane fees they charge to move fiat may feel threatened and tell their lobbyists to try and get the politicians to look down on Bitcoin.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: White House Petition to AMEND IRS NOTICE 2014-2 Taxing virtual currency/Bitcoin on: March 30, 2014, 02:33:41 AM
I find it interesting that Bitcoin could even be considered property and not a currency. It has all the qualities of a currency.
11  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Concerns regarding buying bitcoins offline(udercover cops) - What do you think? on: March 28, 2014, 09:27:15 PM
Before buying or selling, make sure you know the max you can sell or buy per day per person in your place of residence, then never suggest you would ever buy for illegal purposes and never sell to someone  that says or suggests in any way that it will be used for purposes that are illegal. Also, never ask for the purpose of the funds being bought and never  tell your intent of the funds being  sold. Basic rules of thumb  that you  should always be aware of.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Town of Darrington, WA (hit by the mudslide last week) is accepting BTC donation on: March 28, 2014, 09:05:07 PM
That's actually pretty awesome that they are accepting Bitcoin donations. My heart goes out to all those affected by this tragedy.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Are you getting off the train? on: March 28, 2014, 08:32:43 PM
No, that would be crazy, why would you get off the train?
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is doomed. Thanks IRS!!! You Ass hats! on: March 28, 2014, 08:07:19 PM
If the IRS wants to make taxing Bitcoin a pain, then they are going the wrong way, a lot of Americans will still be using Bitcoin and the IRS will just make it harder on themselves to collect any sort of taxes. Trust me, Bitcoin isn't doomed, but the quicker the governments get on the train and accept Bitcoin for what it is, the quicker they will have any chance for it to be more regulated to a point they would prefer.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Russia to Drop USD as reserve currency - could mean 5000+ USD bitcoins on: March 28, 2014, 07:58:34 PM
Russia dropping the USD as a reserve currency doesn't mean anything, considering Russia doesn't have much sway in that regard. I doubt you would see 5k Bitcoin because of that.
16  Economy / Speculation / Re: Value of Bitcoin will go down on: March 24, 2014, 06:01:17 AM
The price will likely go up and down and the same over and over again. The next investor rush will happen and the price will eventually rise even higher than before as Bitcoin gains more acceptance.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Student uses university computers to mine Dogecoin" LEL on: March 24, 2014, 05:54:47 AM
Why would someone risk their education for something as worthless as Dogecoin?
18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I am not Dorian Nakamoto. on: March 24, 2014, 05:52:42 AM
Interesting, someone looking for attention maybe?
19  Economy / Gambling / Re: EveryDice.com | 0.99% Edge - Invest - Referral - Mobile - Fair - Instant on: March 22, 2014, 07:41:36 PM
Honestly, I like the layout and I like the idea that you can refer a friend with funds automatically in his/her account, that adds something new.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is there any BTC bank? on: March 22, 2014, 07:18:12 PM
Be very careful about scams, there are sites that let you invest in them or other things, but I suggest you avoid that because you are either likely to be scammed or make so little on your investment it wont be worth your time. Plus, holding your own money in something like a cold wallet you own is the best way to avoid loosing your money to anything like scammers and hackers. Also, if something sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true and either someone else is getting screwed (pyramid schemes) and/or you will get screwed.
