341  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Poloniex Global Trade Analyzer on: July 28, 2017, 09:01:14 PM
Running PGTA for the past 5 minutes and only seeing green. Went to check Poloniex to confirm and yes, all of Poloniex is on an up trend. Looks like there is lots of interest in PPC right now. (Peercoin)

This also makes me wonder if there is a correlation to less users = when pumpers buy? Smiley

342  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Poloniex Global Trade Analyzer on: July 28, 2017, 05:45:12 PM
Also note "users online" does not update often. Poloniex only sends this data like every minute or so.
343  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [ANN] Poloniex Global Trade Analyzer on: July 28, 2017, 05:43:41 PM
Another screenshot with more activity, added "gain, neutral, loss" to Activity panel:

Neutral is for when you first start it. Eventually all altcoins will not be neutral because they will have gained/loss value.

It is possible I guess to add a threshold to determine which are neutral/stale and which are active.

Hello everyone...

I was wondering if you would be interested in this:

What would you add to it? Currently these metrics have proven to be pretty useful for me. Usually when there is a downward trend it is blatantly obvious to see it happen across the board with this.

It uses Poloniex's private API (api2.poloniex.com) so it is pretty damn fast. I had to do a little reverse engineering but it is very simple.

Overall it is simple but effective Smiley
345  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT a sleeping giant !! on: July 28, 2017, 01:24:20 PM
Shift is going down preety hard right now... a good moment to get in on it maybe ?

No, it is only going down because people want their BTC in case of the hardfork. They will get 2x the amount of BTC.

The hardfork will not happen though. Miners have already voted with > 90% confidence of the New York Agreement.

Wait until this blows over. I would actually buy in 2 days from now. Then you will see MASSIVE buy-backs.
346  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CURRYPTO Public Issue #2] IOTA - Investigating the blockless coin. on: July 28, 2017, 01:02:56 PM
Why do you limit using IOTA with IoT only? I like blockless and feeless transactions. I'm considering to use it as currency infrastructure in gaming and around gaming services and goods market.

There are already feeless transaction coins (see: Steemit). As I've said, blockless does not give you any advantages.

It really sounds like you could use Ethereum or a colored coin. Why not check out Gamecoin?
347  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [CURRYPTO Public Issue #2] IOTA - Investigating the blockless coin. on: July 28, 2017, 03:05:34 AM
I want to use IOTA-kind tokens in my next project.
Thank you for this links. I gonna read the article and will be back tomorrow with my feedback. Anyway, I think IOTA devs will fix most problems in next years, and it's OK for me.

Your project involves IoT? I really don't think you should...If you could shed some light on what you are doing exactly maybe I can give some good advice.
348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT a sleeping giant !! on: July 27, 2017, 10:49:50 PM
am buying some shift on dips. don't know if i'm a believer really but seems worth a gamble, i think it can go to 5$ in short to medium term and plus maybe they will surprise with something good so i will keep some for longterm maybe

I have invested in Shift (about 1BTC) despite not believing in it 100%. As soon as they come up with some sort of collaboration effort with IPFS team this will absolutely take off, and be a main Sia competitor (which I think Sia will be dominant, and Shift will be the shitty alternative, but still popular).

Shift has different use-cases from Sia

https://forum.sia.tech/topic/102/sia-vs-ipfs

Yes I am aware. IPFS is not really for long-term storage and as Taek says, an HTTP replacement.

350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Digibyte is back. on: July 27, 2017, 10:14:21 PM
I would be wary of Digibyte. A bunch of red flags. I would tell you why but then that would ruin the purpose of my information service.

I'm 80% sure Digibyte is a pump-and-dump coin, like a few others on my list.
351  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT a sleeping giant !! on: July 27, 2017, 10:09:59 PM
My analysis on Shift: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2047973.msg20407368#msg20407368

TL;DR: Not a sleeping giant. But has potential.
352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [CURRYPTO Public Issue #2] IOTA - Investigating the blockless coin. on: July 27, 2017, 09:35:19 PM
Today we take a look into what the f*ck IOTA has to offer. On the surface it is a very interesting coin. They do away with the blockchain in favor of "Tangle", otherwise known as a "braid". Unfortunately there are some major pitfalls to this technology.

http://currypto.club/hello-world/iota/blockless-cryptocurrency-disappointing

TL;DR: IOTA is interesting but not useful. Should be a colored coin based on Bitcoin or Ethereum. Not a scam, just some bad choices made by people.

I am working hard to support myself on cryptocurrency, and use my computer science knowledge to give something useful to the world. Please leave feedback as well, even if it's just "this is shit" or "good article". It means a lot to me.

What mystery coin should I look into next?
353  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIFT - Do you know what it is? Now you will. on: July 27, 2017, 04:13:16 PM
Thank you all for the great discussion.

It is hard to give solid evidence if something is a scam or not. Lets say I run a hotdog business. I sell you 5 hotdogs, you pay for them all. The next transaction you pay for your hotdog but I don't give you a hotdog - am I suddenly a hotdog scammer?

If we define scam as "giving something but getting nothing back", then Shift is definitely not a scam. With Shift you buy Shiftcoin, which you get storage/other things.

The next coin I am investigating is IOTA. It's main feature is "blockchainless transactions" which is kind of an oxymoron when you look at what it is.

So far not a single person has signed up to my service unfortunately.
354  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do I create an ICO landing page for my cryptocurrency? on: July 27, 2017, 12:31:31 AM
ITS PIECES OF SHIT LIKE YOU THAT ENABLE THIS PETTIFOGGERY TO CONTINUE............... Anything to supplement the welfare payments eh . .  sad_miner trying to break into the big boys pond . .

I guess you missed the sardonic note in that reply.  Wink

Haha...Yeah I don't think he realized "root access" is basically asking to put a stick up OP's bum.
355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SHIFT - Do you know what it is? Now you will. on: July 27, 2017, 12:22:19 AM
What makes you sure it is not a scamcoin? I would like to hear some facts about it. And yes, I'm lazy and will start reading about it once you convinced me that it is a good idea.

1. I've looked at their code.
2. Their goal is achievable/reasonable. They also have a prototype on a testnet.
3. Their marketing sucks Smiley (ok, not a real good reason!)
4. I definitely wouldn't call it a "get rich quick" coin either. As I conclude in my article, they will have to team up with IPFS team to really cause a stir.

356  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / SHIFT - Do you know what it is? Now you will. on: July 26, 2017, 08:36:06 PM
http://currypto.club/hello-world/btc_shift/shift-an-ipfs-based-coin

A look at what Shift coin is. This is Currypto's first public article, and I will have more in the near future to grow interest in my investigation service.

Enjoy fellow cryptoenthusiasts. I hope you like it and support me to look past the bullshit these coins are pushing.

TL;DR: Shift has promise, but currently is not that amazing. It is not a scamcoin.
357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Epic Monster Moon on: July 21, 2017, 11:55:16 PM
3-5 years to reach 0.50 cents...that's great. So 0.25 cents should be 1.5-2.5 years. 20 cents even sooner.
358  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Siacoin Epic Monster Moon on: July 21, 2017, 01:34:44 PM
how much does it cost to store an HD movie on Sia?  how does the speed/price compare to centralized services?

if it's a lot more.. you do realize the only thing Sia is gonna be used for right?

Full-on rip of a BluRay is about 16GB? Would cost about 4 cents or something.
359  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: SHIFT Speculation on: July 19, 2017, 08:37:24 PM
I cannot stand-by Shift until the developers make a few decisions. I'm currently writing up an article for my service (check my signature) that you will all be able to read in the next day or two. I have interviewed one of the developers and looked into Shift's code. Then you guys can decide if Shift is a good investment for you.

Short story: It is not a scam/pump-n-dump coin, but it is not mature either. Shift is currently alphaware.
360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What altcoin do you want me to investigate next? on: July 17, 2017, 04:12:53 PM
I have begun to investigate SHIFT. Already not looking good. I will post an update when the article is done in the next day.

IOTA will be next.

Again, I look at all aspects of the coin, but more importantly, the actual code to backup the claims the developers make.

See you guys in a bit  Wink
