582  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Slimcoin | First Proof of Burn currency | Test v0.5 release candidates on: July 11, 2017, 02:59:35 AM
hi I'm new to cryptocurrencies.

And I've read about Slimcoin and I found it as a promising old coin.

And also I've read that this is still mineable in an ordinary pc.

I also downloaded the slimcoin-qt wallet and tried mining using this instruction:

"Help (Tab) > Debug window > Console (Tab)  and type;

setgenerate true

which will start mining Slimcoin with all CPU cores / threads.

or setgenerate true 'number of CPU cores / threads' i.e.

setgenerate true 4

which selects the number of CPU cores / threads to mine with.

to confirm your mining hash rate type;

gethashespersec"

However, I am not sure if I'm doing it right because I'm not seeing any coins appearing after days of mining...

I'm not a programmer, I'm an art teacher, so I'm having difficulty on executing or following the directions in this thread about mining slimcoin...

I don't know if this is too much...

But please, could someone do a short, in layman's term, step-by-step tutorial on how to mine slimcoin?

I would really appreciate it. I've been reading on this for days and can't really figure out how to mine this thing...

Thank you very much in advance to the slimcoin community for helping me and others like me...

What is your specs of PC and what operating system do you have?

Hi, I'm running on Windows 8.1
Processor: Intel Core i5-4460 CPU @ 3.20GHz
Ram: 16 GB
Sytem type: 64-bit Operating System, x64-based processor

Maybe you don't have whole blockchain synchronized?
Try this - it's my installer with Slimcoin client Wallet with whole blockchain till 06.07.2017.
After installation it will create shortcut to Slimcoin wallet on the desktop.

hi muf18 thank you for this.

I think I'm mining now.

when I type gethashespersec the number that appears is 1592, when I type it again the number that appeared is 1547, etc. do you think this is profitable? How long should I run this before I get my first coin? do I need to type my slimcoin address somewhere to receive my coins?

Thank you for answering this noob questions...

Roll Eyes Developers the wallet is working fully functional. I can run my new token on this chain. This is excellent work and the UI looks a lot better than Ethereum's! Thanks guys this is going to be big!

And yeah, where's the wallet? I can't see any link here for that wallet.

I think this is a scam.

All ICO investors have been e-mailed information regarding our sales, roadmap, etc

hey, I am an investor but no one emailed me about sales, roadmap etc.

Also if it's a roadmap and other important info, why shouldn't you just post it here in bitcointalk.org?

So big win yun for burst. Pero madami rin kasing burstcoins so kung lumaki man di gaano. siguro maghihintay pa ng ilang months or even a year.

Translations should be assigned in a week's time.  Hang tight guys.

I can't wait for this to come up. We need a company like this amidst the prolifiration of ICOs. This idea will help protect both the investors and the cryptocommunity in general. The idea that investors will be refunded if the particular ICO didn't reached the amount needed during the time of the ICO is a good way to protect investors and don't let just the launcher get the money. I can't wait to translate this project in Filipino!

Btw, I followed and liked you in Facebook and Twitter! I'll be keeping an eye to this promising project.

593  Local / Pamilihan / Re: May Ibang Choice Ba Na Mas OK Na Bumili Ng Bitcoins Bukod Sa Coins.ph Sa Pinas? on: July 05, 2017, 03:09:29 PM
mababa na po ang fee ni coins.ph ngayon, lowest 0.000074 sats lang or mga nasa 9 pesos lang highest naman is 0.00019 or 25 pesos only check nyo po mababa na talaga

Thank you naman kung ganun.

Kasi yung dati almost 200php..

May ibang ways pa ba kayong alam?

Thanks po sa pagsagot sa aking katanungan! Smiley

Now I learned a lot.

Smiley

Hi I just bought a few Pandacoins myself.

I'm now staking them to my PandaBank.

However, I don't know if I'm doing it right...

I just placed them in my PandaBank and that's it? Do I have to do more?

How can I mine this? I would like to mine some Pandacoins.

Do you have tutorial for this?

Thanks dev team!

I'm hoping for Pandacoin to succeed.
Hey, and Welcome!

Pandacoin, being proof of stake, can't be mined with CPU/GPU/ASIC or other. New coins are added to the total through staking. Its' really easy on your resources (and environment friendly) while encouraging keeping your coins.

We had a multipool at some point, which mined other coins and sold them for Pandas, and that was one way to "mine" Pandacoin indirectly. I'm not sure it's still active, tho.
It be nice to have it again.

Thanks mtrycz for welcoming me!

Yes, I think it would be great if there will be a multipool again. Let's make Pandacoin great again!

Your wallet needs to be unlocked to be staking

Hi i8,

Thanks for pointing this out. I leaved my pandabank open without noticing the lock/unlock button on the upper right corner.

But I have some questions.

It's quite confusing... as you can see, in the image here. The icon on the button says "lock" but when I hovered on to it, it says, "Wallet is encrypted and currently unlocked click to lock."

So does that mean that it really is unlocked? Is this the mode where I do start on staking already?

And when I clicked on it, the icon becomes "unlocked" however when I hover on it, it now says, "Wallet is encrypted and currently locked click to unlock."

So does that mean that it really is locked?

Sorry, for the noob question, because it's really confusing to me...

Thanks again for the answers Panda community!
