Most likely not, the guy's ip is in Wisconsin and he wants to meet in virginia.
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help! on: April 28, 2013, 05:36:55 AM
Yeah his ip isnt on the list. And i am conversing with him now. have been checking his ip every email and it has changed, becuz he changed computers. He claims to be in virginia for some emergency, and is willing to meet me if I drive down there. Should I agree to that and if he is serious about it, report that to the authorities, after deciding on a location and time? Or am I going too far?

Alright I got this scumbag! He replied back to my second email address. Any recommendations on what to do now?

Send him an email asking please for a refund, as you see that ASICs won't ship for a long time. But first go to spypig.com and get a tracking image you can put in the email you send so you can get the person's real IP address.

Thanks for that, I got his IP, his location, the type of computer and browser he is using. He is in Wisconsin. So what should be the next step? Should I report him to the police or something?

Just how are Bitcoin wallets hacked? Especially the online ones like from Blockchain.info? I just want to know what to protect myself from?

So you sent your money to someone you never met, over an anonymous payment network? You can contact law enforcement, but even if you said you said you wired $5000 of real dollars with Western Union to a Nigerian Prince, there isn't much they can or will do. The won't even go bust someone who stole your cel phone when you have their GPS location and a picture of them.

Search Google to find other scammers (selling a preorder for bitcoin payments only, no phone number, etc):
site:craigslist.org asic bitcoin

The highest likely IP address is http://www.speedguide.net/ip/184.5.139.15 , a Centurylink in Charlottesville, Virginia, however the other two payments that have been sent from the address have had relay connections in England and Germany, so the person likely knows how to anonymously scam.

Ok yeah he did say he was in virginia at the moment.

I'll try buying the boards with another email and see if he tries to sell them.
If he does I'll see what craigslist people can do as I'll have evidence of his scam

this is the guy's wallet address that he uses, and it seems he has asked others for money too.

his activity:
http://blockchain.info/address/1JHJ1xi9eRKmsbqv2AsbuuBv8N3C75ySbf

that link says he got 8 BTC? That's a lot of money to be scamming people for.

The thing is that everything he makes, he moves to another wallet, and that wallet sends money to another one. I got tired of tracing it but I don't know wat to make of that.
