1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You don't have to HODL on: January 12, 2019, 10:38:44 AM
I haven't thought about selling now, and I prefer better prices in 2019, and because of that I prefer to hold this year.

Person should decide himself to hold his coins or sell. I do not see anything wrong in the fact that someone will hold Bitcoin and after some time coins will fly to the moon.
I feel you with respect to the fact that everyone have what works for them, but on the other hand, OP is right. The problem with a lot of people today is that the only mindset they have is moon and HODL. However, they have not been able to find knowledge to at least be able to figure out better ways in which they can be at a better end of the market without just having to hold all through. Whichever way, like I said, we all have what work for us most of the time, and in as much as there are better ways to investing that just holding all through, it does not make holding a bad step either. You just have to find out what works out best for you as an individual.
2  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What coins do you like to trade the most? on: January 11, 2019, 11:56:37 AM
The most coin I trade is bitcoin pair usdt, but I also trade altcoin pair bitcoin to increase my btc. So far, I usually trade ethereum, litecoin, xrp, and the other cheap coin price. But sometimes, I trade altcoin pair usdt too if I see the price can start increase and it would give me an extra usdt. And if the market shows good movements, I think my profit will increase too, and so far, I can get a nice profit from my trade although I don't trade for daily.
For me, I really do not have specific coin to trade, as most of the coins anyway depends on how I am able to analyze them being a long term trader. I am a swing trader, and I look out for long term trends and that is good enough for me. Sure, I just do not trade any coin I see, but I make sure it is a coin with potential and not just some shit coin and it is a coin with lot of trading volume so I do not get lost looking to sell my position as time goes on.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: How/Why to Buy Bitcoin in 2019 on: January 11, 2019, 10:05:07 AM
The only reason why we should buy bitcoin for this year 2019 is because BTCs price drops down to its limit and it will turn out great after. We are looking forward for the green market maybe in the middle of the year, but im sure it will happen this year. If you would buy now, you will sure be thankful after.

Hey Bitcoins prices rising shouldn't be the only factor you should be considering, you should buy because you believe in the technology too. Also I feel that there's a high level of sentiments in the crypto markets, that institutional investors shall be adopting into cryptos. I also feel the fud has disappeared from the market which shall pave the way for further growth in the crypto market.
It is a normal thing to see FUD disappear gradually at points like this and then see some level of sideways movement like stagnation. Trust me, that is the point a lot of people usually end up bailing out with the thought that there is nothing else for the market, and that is what happens to those people who are majorly centering their attention on increases only and not a major clue why they should have hope in the long term prospect of the market, but it is what it is.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bakkt is a new hope? on: January 10, 2019, 03:30:33 PM
Hey guys, since bitcoin ETF is not still approved by SEC, Bakkt is the closest big event for crypto community. Do you think crypto market will pump?

Do we really need a hope liek BAKKT's?

We need something that Bitcoin and all other cryptocurrencies accepting globally. It may solve our problems.
This is how life is bro, the idea is to look for hope even when things look a little bit bleak. Bakkt so far is the new hope which a lot of people tend to believe would bring a possibility for the market to at least have some pretty good relief rally. Nonetheless, we just have to wait to see how that would necessarily turn out eventually. Global acceptance is not something we will actually just get to see overnight, it is a gradual process, and this should be a start I think.
5  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tone Vays Is 85% Certain Bitcoin (BTC) Hasn’t Hit True Bottom on: January 10, 2019, 11:04:27 AM
Good for him! I wonder why anyone is paying attention to someone who called the peak at $7000 in 2017 anyway. This is a market and no one have a guarantee what the market will hold in the short term or long term. Anyone who wants to buy should buy and leave out this prediction game. There is a lot to look out for, when it comes to the market stamping a lower low in the long run, but whichever way, whether it has hit the bottom or not, it is still a good time to start buying. Probably, he is just busy stating his wish to be able to get in at a good price. Everywhere is a good price as long as you are comfortable with the price you are buying. At this point and lower, I am so comfortable, and if Tone Vays like, he should keep looking for his bottom.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin price and January on: January 10, 2019, 09:09:15 AM
This is obviously a bear market, so regardless of any fundamental reasons we should be prepared for another test of $3K and maybe lower. In the mid term, I'm looking for this bull trap to end higher ($5K-$5,500 is my guess) but I have a feeling we'll get a taste of the $2,000s before the bottom is in.

There's something else to take into consideration. Something that may have an impact or not (I expect at least a short-term impact) : it's the launch of Bakkt in 24 January.
So this January may look way different from last year's, at least until Bakkt is launched. And yes, this could bring $5K+; and this could even make the $2k prediction not happen (although I wouldn't bet too much on that).
In fact, what the OP is not putting into consideration right now that the market has been pretty bearish since the beginning of the year and the likelihood of a consolidation or a slight rally is there than a more bearish condition, but not like the latter can still not happen. The past he used to judge was a January that started from the previous bull run and has hit an overbought stage waiting for a huge correction, using that sort of January to judge this one where we were in a downtrend throughout 2018, I really wonder how illogical his comparisons are. Moreover, we have had several Januaries with green in the past, so what are we saying?
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is investing in ICO's a good option? on: January 09, 2019, 07:50:29 PM
if you are a beginner I suggest not to invest in any ICO, because now many ICOs are deceiving. Many factors for choosing the ICO Project, if I will choose a project that will be useful for the future, because then the project will continue to grow.
Being a beginner does not necessarily mean you have to stay away from ICOs, what is just important is for you to know basis of investment, know all you need to know about ICOs and try as much as possible not to see it as quick ways of making money. Basically, that is what a lot of beginners tend to think, and with no knowledge of how to manage risks and invest wisely, they just do as they please until they get hit while learning the hard way.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it a good idea to buy some bitcoin now? on: January 09, 2019, 04:02:31 PM
seeing current bitcoin price movements is the biggest opportunity to buy more bitcoin because many people expect bitcoin prices to increase in the coming months, so use the best opportunities when market prices are declining
I will definitely agree with that, price has already bottom so price from now will most likely go up only.
The decision is from us, if we are afraid to invest then we will miss this opportunity but if we believe, we can surely expect good things in the long run.
Well, even if price has not bottomed yet fully, one thing is certain at this moment, price is getting pretty close to hitting the bottom if it has not already. Anything below $3000 though might send us through to $1k+ zone, but in the real sense, that just means more buying at this stage at least for me. I believe in the long term potential of this market, and that is what matters the most, and moreover, for a market with potential, at times like this, you should be looking to invest.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: It is not your fault that you are loosing in trading! on: January 09, 2019, 02:02:46 PM
That's why most traders lose. Movements don't happen as they should and TA doesn't work on the other hand, just in short-term.
2019, is here,  are we going to continue in losing trade?  I have decided to love my capital more than profits this year and I am not going to take much risky trade this year.
Looks like it's better to look from side unless the market gives us a hint.
I usually do not find it funny when people say TAs do not work, it is your attitude towards TA that counts in most cases. A lot of people think with TA you should always get things 100% right, sorry to bust your bubbles bro, that is a big capital NO. TA is just there as a guide, to make you anticipate for possible movement in the market, and at that point you are anticipating, you have to also assume that it is a market, and things can go not as planned, and you have to plan ahead for that, which is where stop loss comes in. The problem is that people take trading as gambling and not as what it should be.
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Holding coins on: January 08, 2019, 04:15:49 PM
I still believe in online wallet and exchange wallet and luckly i was never got hack during use them and my funds were safe indeed i do realize using online wallet is very risky especially for long term saving but for me all of current online wallet already have high of securities system and got hack or not depend on our habit when we use that
Apparently, you have not ended up having an experience with one in the past and how so quick you can manage to lose all that you have in a twinkle of an eye if anything happens to the exchange you are keeping your assets on. Even the most reliable exchanges today should not be 100% relied on as anything can still happen. Exchanges are centralized and even though there are some securities in place, that does not mean you should completely put all your funds in them, that is not a good call for a smart investor at all. In fact, if you are not a trader, you should have no business when it comes to putting any funds at all in an exchange, and if you are a trader, you should only be trading what you know you can afford to lose.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: PREDICTION IS SOMETIMES LIKE A FALSE PROMISE on: January 08, 2019, 03:47:30 PM
Last year saw many people predict BTC year-end prices, but nothing was validated with time. it is very difficult for BTC to reach predictable prices. Future price predictions fail to consider many factors and problems that may occur over time. Maybe, we can only estimate the value of assets for the next few days like weather experts.

prediction is still a prediction, no one can accurately estimate the right BTC price, but in my opinion it can be seen from the existing btc historical chart and from that graph we can estimate where the current BTC price is
The thing about being a trader in any market is to always plan ahead on possibilities while managing risks at the same time. Market are meant to be predicted on what could happen, but predictions are not meant to be relied on completely no matter how well or much you think you are right or you believe the market will move in the direction you think. It is a market, and it will always be unpredictable, but the thing is that with some analysis, you can make some assumptions which can be considered as predictions, but they are just speculations and that is all we basically do as retail traders or investors.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: A little hope and questions for 2019. on: January 08, 2019, 02:20:32 PM
Wow, there is 5% rise in price today and what I like here is that this rise was almost instant. As I see on coindesk (website doesn't matter much) bitcoin become 4K at 21:00 and keeps this price as for now. We haven't seen 4K for weeks, possibly this can lead to rise, I think if rice will be good tomorrow, we will soon reach 6K and from this point, rise will continue again, otherwise we will stuck in 3K price range.
The rise will happen this year but we never know how much it will reach.
A little rise really makes us happy because we barely see any rise anymore, what we see is a big dump after a little rise.
Hope this year, would be different.
No one can be sure of what the likelihood of the market would be this year as no one can obviously predict what the future holds. A lot of people or investors still feel the bottom has not been reached yet, while some tend to think we might be consolidating through out the year, but however the market would end up, only time will tell us. However, we have the trend to guide us in most situations anyway, so that is basically the only friend we have right now.
13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin, 2019 and next halving on: January 05, 2019, 08:36:28 AM
Longterm bullish but the trend for a bull market is still in and isnt showing any signs of ending in the near future.

All i cant take from the graph is we will be dancing around $3k - $4k most of 2019 and can expect a bull run from sometime 2020 onwards.
Usually the pattern of the long term consolidation that comes with the market after a huge bear market. The whole of 2018 was all bearish with some little bit of upward rallies in between, let's see how the whole halving would come to be and in that case, it looks like there would be nothing much to expect until towards the end of 2019 or even 2020 as the case may be. This would be a whole lot long boring moment for bitcoin, but usually in cases like that, I guess this is where we might be seeing some bullishness for altcoins anyway so there could still be some little action in the other assets hopefully.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: When traditional markets fall, alternative markets fall harder on: January 04, 2019, 09:24:01 AM
Stop dreaming bro. No one can ascertain that the crypto market is somehow attached to the movement of the stock market and even if it is, you think machines are the ones controlling the market? You and I as well as every other humans including the whales and institutions are, and in this case, if the stock market is going down, the next phase for most people is to look for where to hedge their funds for more increase. The crypto space looks blown out already to me, so I wonder where you are seeing your own death from?
15  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tricks For Newbies on: January 04, 2019, 08:27:15 AM
Buy High, Sell Higherer
Easy to say right?  Grin but when we already bought a coin it will go down. no higherer but in reality it is sell low  Grin. Maybe your theory will work when a coin get pumped, or maybe listed in new market.
That is usually what happens to most people who enter the market thinking buying low and selling high is all that it is to a market and that is exactly what the OP described. However, the reality always end up kicking in all the same, and that is when they realize that there is more to trading that just that, which is the reason why the need to have a plan is always necessary. Unfortunately, no one can have a plan when they are ignorant of what they are looking for before entering or exiting a trade which is where it hits them straight on.
16  Economy / Economics / Re: McAfee Says Crypto Mining Malware Increased 4,000% in 2018 on: January 03, 2019, 09:21:30 AM
It is still on the rise albeit the recent crash in price of cryptocurrencies. It usually appears on sites that give you direct access on download links and automatically installs the malware on your machine in the background. I've become a victim of such on my gaming machine back in 2017, when I downloaded a dll file that is needed to run a certain game. I usually get 200+ fps on the same game on ultra preset, but suddenly the performance shifted to shit (30-40 fps on normal scenes) which prompted me to do a full scan of the said machine. To my surprise, a mining malware is active on my pc which causes the poor performance of the rig on the said game. Luckily the malware was easy to remove yet I still did a full reformat just to be safe.

Heck, even websites have embedded mining malware scripts that run on the background that the end-user doesn't know about.
Well, as crazy as it is based on how they keep looking for loopholes and trying to have a filled day, it is a normal thing to be seeing at this stage. Sure, there is a need for most security organizations to be thinking of a way to at least curb this issue, but being that this is a new thing for them, it certainly will have to be something gradual.

Awareness as it is now, is something that is very important as so many people right now are not even aware of things like this, since they are not tech savvies. At least, you were able to detect something was wrong with the speed of your machine and had to do the needful, how many people would even realize that?
17  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you lose your confidence as an investor? on: January 03, 2019, 08:53:00 AM
I have my confidence to continue as the investor in the cryptocurrency because I see a big chance for this technology to grow bigger in the future and I want to be a part of this technology. Even if I don't trade like other people, I think it's enough if I only keep my coins in the wallet and waiting for the price to grow high. I will buy more and more the potential coins and hold it because this is the chance for me to have more asset for my wealth.
I believe there is still a lot to hope for and be confident in when it comes to this market. Sure, we are in the early phase and it is a normal thing to experience things like this in terms of volatility. However, this does not mean it is not a temporary situation as I believe it would pass. it has happened before, it will happen again and the main thing one should be thankful for is the fact that we are here early. I guess that keeps me going.
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's incredibly hard to sell when you are in a profit position, because of greed on: January 03, 2019, 08:40:32 AM
I wonder sometimes if people still do jump in without a plan, but every time I read about how tough it is to decide, I guess the answer is yeah, people still come in here without thinking ahead.

1. If you're a speculator, you have your targets. And you have your loss estimates. So you don't decide on the spot, you let the market decide for you.
2. If you're a holder, you also have targets - price or duration. Anything else in between that is irrelevant.

Greed, even if we view it as good, should still mean you can take profits at your targets. I'm greedy for the long game, so missing out at 20k's fine by me.
A lot of people do a whole lot and the funniest part is that even those who have experienced certain situations in the past just always end up not learning, but that is basically something about life we cannot discard yeah? Greed is something normal for every individual generally but it is left for you to learn, build on yourself, to be able to have a plan for future occurrences as they will happen again and without that, it would always be an issue for people who think moon is something that will last forever without a correction or refuel and planning towards that is always important.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: thinking of selling or investing more. on: January 02, 2019, 11:10:10 AM
I was like this a few days ago. I think it might fall but I'm not certain (I've sold 0.8% Grin).

A few days I thought, I want to double my stake and I want to sell it all... Literally at the same time. Hodl seems a good idea though ATM, it's what I'm doing with most of my Bitcoin.
The only thing that is certain right now is that most of the coins in the market have really hit a strong bottom. They might fall lower or consolidate for a while, but most investments right now from ICO or any coin, which includes the boss, bitcoin is a good moment for purchasing them.
At the moment, and just like you have mentioned, HODL is the best idea and even the best is to help yourself with the down market so that when recovery comes, those who probably have been holding from the peak at loss would be breaking even for more profit quickly.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum Whales Holding More ETH on: January 02, 2019, 10:34:41 AM
Well, I will do so if I have plenty of money as well. Accumulating coins during low prices is a good move for sure, especially toward strong coin like ETH. It is easy to earn multiple times profit when the market turns bullish.
One of the reasons why the whales will keep winning and those who are simply looking for a way to get rich overnight will end up becoming extremely stuck in their mentality till they keep losing out eventually. At this moment, Ethereum has taken out most of its last year gains and this is obviously a time to be accumulating. Of course the whales are definitely doing that, so it is left for each and every individual to as well be seeing that as an opportunity to be seeing a good chance to get in now if they are smart.
