Why can DeFi not be trusted? Because you lost money farming due to whales dumping on you? Because some platforms exit scammed or were hacked? Because you got liquidated on a loan? You might as well say that the entire banking industry is a scam. I think the solution lies in DeFi with KYC for developers so that they can't scam, and biometric log in for users so there are no hacks. The answer is the internet computer.
If you want those measures then you should just use banks and be done with this market, biometrics are being pushed as an alternative to passwords but what good can be biometrics since you cannot change them? Once it is leaked out then all your accounts will be at risk and there will not be a way to secure your funds anymore unless passwords are allowed too, in which which case why use biometrics at all if we still need passwords?
right, why do biometrics if logging in with a password is still available!

this is still bothering me.. if defi requires KYC does it deserve to be called decentralized again? defi is made to fight against 3rd party (bank) system which requires KYC on every user, I think in the market there are many defi platforms, but only a few are honest.

723  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: June 26, 2022, 02:18:31 PM
For the World Cup finale, there are quite a few teams as favourites now. The first teams that come to my mind are Brazil, Argentina, Germany and France for example. One of these four teams can really make it to the championship at the end. I see people talking about Argentina recently but I think Brazil are a slightly better team than them now. I liked Brazil more than Argentina in the qualification round in South America. Brazil have ended up as the leader. Both teams haven't been the champions in the World Cup for long years so it would be nice to see one of them doing it this time.
I totally agree with you. The 2022 World Cup in Qatar is one of its most likely to be Brazil and. Considering the current form of Brazil and Argentina, it can be seen that Brazil and Argentina have occupied the top spot. And their current team combination is much better.
Many people think Brazil is a team with great potential to win the world cup but I support Portugal. Portugal has midfielders (such as Jota and Silva) and a front line (Cristiano) who will certainly try hard to bring their country to become champions for the first time. I have doubts about France and brazil.
724  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can you trust a gambler with your money/savings? on: June 26, 2022, 12:43:00 PM
I think the friend who entrusted the gambling addict with a business manager made a big mistake, he should have at least check on his friend's excessive handling of the business finances.
Indeed he made a big mistake, he doesn't need to check the background.  The tag gambling addict states it all.  But being a gambler alone does not constitute that a person is already an addict.  There are people despite being a gambler are more trustworthy than a religious leader in terms of fund handling.
I think the ratio is 1:100 thousand gamblers (who can be trusted to manage finances rather than religious leaders). but so far from the people I have met, there has never been a single gambler who can be trusted to manage finances.

The Richest Bitcoin Whale in Existence Now Has Over $2,763,000,000 in BTC After Massive Series of Transactions

The world’s largest non-exchange Bitcoin whale now holds over $2 billion worth of BTC after a string of massive transactions earlier this month.

According to crypto data platform BitInfoCharts, the whale has added 2,554 Bitcoin in a series of transactions since June 14th.
The richest non-exchange Bitcoin whale currently holds a total of 130,227 BTC or 0.68% of the current supply. It is the world’s third-largest Bitcoin whale after the wallets belonging to Binance and Bitfinex crypto exchanges.

According to crypto analytics firm Santiment, the crypto market downturn has triggered an increase in the number of Bitcoin whales.

727  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: June 25, 2022, 04:23:13 AM
^^^^ Just $120 per month? That is unbelievably cheap. Most of us receive almost that much every week from our signature campaigns. And here in India, it is impossible to have a comfortable life with that much money, even in the most remote parts. $120 roughly equals to ₹9,400 and you will struggle to cover rent and utility bills with this amount. Rent alone may take at least ₹3,000 per month if you want to live in a small house with bathroom and kitchen. Things have become costly here over the past couple of years, including medical care, electricity, food items and clothing.
different regions, have different levels of spending, I hope that all of us can get an income that exceeds your monthly expenses Grin

This is my biggest challenge because most of the cheap areas would not be friendly to foreigners. Foreigners might not suffer racism when they are living in big cities such as Jakarta and Surabaya because most inhabitants are educated and experienced. But these cities are very expensive to leave in than other semi-urban cities that might not gladly receive foreigners. Another consequences of living in semi-urban areas insecurity.
if you have a target of living on the island of Java then choose Yogyakarta because the cost of living there is quite cheap, besides that the residents there are also quite friendly to foreigners.

****
$120 for house rent and food would be a little bit high for me but other higher members would be able to afford it. Could you please inform me of a means of staying in Jakarta with a monthly campaign signature of $160. Is there any cheap accommodation such as shared rooms or hostels where the rent is cheaper. With my signature campaign funds I don't expect to eat in good restaurants but I have to survive in cheap indigenous dishes in local restaurants. Please could you please furnish me with cheap local food that I can afford with my little funds.
I also have a friend who lives in Jakarta but his living expenses (food, electricity, and rent) are around $140-$150. rented with 1 small room and bathroom inside is still quite affordable for those who are single but for those who already have a family, I think $150/month will not be enough.

Newcastle managed to get a new defender from Lille (Sven Botman), looking at the history of this 22-year-old player, it seems that Newcastle will have a pretty strong defense. last season, Newcastle stopped at rank 11, with current player spending, hopefully, will make Newcastle rank up next season.

Let's hope this is his last experience of getting money that is unclear and that he doesn't misuse the money for gambling. Whatever it was, the money didn't belong to him and he should have returned it to the owner. This is a lesson for all of us to avoid trouble like him. And hopefully, he doesn't go back to the table and gamble with his other money and make it a lesson that gambling is not a way to make money.
if he gets a severe punishment then I'm sure that person will really give up and will not repeat his stupidity again. other than that, hopefully, the media there spread the news about all of this so that other people don't do the same thing he did if they just got "wrong money sent" like this.

^^^ So I guess if we are looking for a retirement spot in Asia, the first choice would be between Thailand and Indonesia? I have seen a lot of people preferring Malaysia as a retirement destination (partly due to the fact that almost everyone speaks English there). Philippines is another destination that I have heard about. From my understanding, the cost of living is similar in all these four countries. Now the deciding factor would be healthcare, crime rate, visa rules, property rights for expats and tax liability.
If I have to decide - I would go to Indanisa - because that is beautiful place and there is so much nature to be explored.
Also I like the homes and the interior of the Indonesian people. Indonesia has always been in my bucket list. I will sure be going there soon.
If you have thoughts of moving to Indonesia then I advise you to decide on a suitable area for you to live in because not all areas in Indonesia are "friendly" for westerners.

I live in Bukit Tinggi, West Sumatra and the cost of living here is very cheap, I personally spend around $120/month on house rent and food, so for those who are lucky to get a place on the BTC signature campaign, for a weekly fee, it is enough to live comfortably here.

for a place of recreation and also a variety of delicious food, in West Sumatra, there are quite a lot. If you are bored, then North Sumatra, South Sumatra and Aceh are quite close from here Grin

everyone wants to live in a comfortable place with family, hopefully, we can find comfort wherever we all are.
731  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you bet on transgender only events? on: June 23, 2022, 01:02:24 AM
I don't really understand why transgender women are trying to join sports competitions that are made for women. I mean, they have the physical body of a man that has been altered to be a woman however the difference in physical strength is a lot.

Anyways, yes, I would definitely bet on these kinds of events as it might be more fun to see them in action rather than on plain gender events. However, I don't think that there will be a huge market for these events as the only main difference is their gender but still, there's a chance that at least one sports event will have a good market for transgender people.
transgenders have a different physique from the original so that, this is a very concerning thing at this time. there was once a real female athlete who complained about the rules of the sport that allowed transgenders to compete with them because that transgender always win. I don't want to bet on sports where there are transgender.

It's JJG himself on his alt....

I admit ImThour’s allegation that “death_wish” is an alt of JayJuanGee.

This one and only violation of my general policy is either my sarcastic way of thanking Jay for his public speculation on my identity, or reverse psychology to fool people into believing that “JayJuanGee” isn’t really my alt.  Damn it!  ImThour must be a genius to penetrate my disguise.

And I think that all of us can more or less agree that you are the mindrust for this season.

Bro got lyrical r@ped. I don't care what you and JJG think about someone's abilities.
Just shut the F up and clean the thread for others to enjoy. Enough of your "WHO WILL POST THE LONGER PARAGRAPHS" competition.

whether vulnerabilities to exploits in DeFi make investor funds insecure?  if you have investment in DeFi token please give your opinion!!

DeFi had and still has the same problems. Anonymity of developers, lack of identification when token is listed on DEX, a lot of vulnerabilities in smart contracts, even in projects with passed audit, and also the possibility of rug pull, when liquidity disappears from some liquidity pool and so-called exit-scam occurs. Even André Cronje, the developer of DeFi projects, says that this industry needs to be regulated, otherwise these problems hindering development will remain and people will perceive DeFi as a high-risk business without regulation.
This article has also explained that self-regulation or being regulated is now important for DeFi

Until when the market will recover we don't know, the problem is that DeFi is one of the contributors to the disappointment of many crypto investors today. I personally lost more than 90% of the value I invested, this really annoys me personally.

735  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can DeFi still be trusted?? on: June 19, 2022, 01:24:08 AM
Defi can't be trusted. You shall be careful with defi. Celcius was being investigated by some countries along with the new case that was coming from the babel finance. DEFI is just a scam. This is not decentralized caused by the owner has control over your money.
You must be careful when facing with the defi. There are bunch of defi were doing shady things. During the bearish market and so many defi facing various liquidity problem and they were suspending their platforms without any notice.
I also heard this news, Celsius is being investigated and that really worries investors who join their staking program. Honestly, I learned a lot from this, I bought $banana at a price of $1.2 but now the price is not up to $0.1, This makes me lose a lot, I don't know when the $banana price will go up again!

Exploiters seemed to use a flash loan attack to trick the protocol and steal more than 53 bitcoin, worth $1.1 million, and 10,000 tether (USDT), a stablecoin backed on a 1-1 basis with U.S. dollars. The exploit comes just over two months after attackers stole $15 million worth of cryptocurrencies from Inverse Finance in a similar attack, as previously reported.

Blockchain data apparently shows the exploiters flash-borrowed some 27,000 wrapped bitcoin from lending protocol Aave to conduct the attack. The funds were routed through swap service Curve for various stablecoins before being used to remove DOLA, a stablecoin, from Inverse Finance pools.

An address tagged as “Inverse Finance Exploiter” on blockchain analysis tool Etherscan apparently sent 900 ether, worth $1 million, to privacy mixer Tornado Cash following the exploit, data shows.
Tornado Cash allows users to mask addresses and is sometimes employed by attackers to hide their stolen funds.
https://www.coindesk.com/tech/2022/06/16/defi-protocol-inverse-finance-exploited-for-12m/

another bad day for inverse finance, they got exploited for $1.2 million. due to this news INV token trading volume dropped drastically (72%).

whether vulnerabilities to exploits in DeFi make investor funds insecure?

this is really a big win!!!

Withdrawal problems usually occur because (1) the gambling site (sandboxcasino) keeps their funds (2) they require KYC for large withdrawals (3) they suspect the account of those who make large withdrawals.

in the future, you may be able to withdraw slowly (starting from $5k++/day), and usually, no problems will occur (WD).

Where can I buy the token since everyone seems to be talking about tokens on this thread lately, since we are better at gambling in the casino with their native women and get better rewards from doing that I may try out the site using the token?

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/owldao/markets/

you can buy OWL tokens here (above). currently, OWL is still listed on one CEX and that is MEXC, OWL continues to grow and the team promises to be listed on many other exchanges, it's not too late to buy a little OWL.
740  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🦉 Owl.games 🦉 Web 3.0 Crypto Casino & Sportsbook - BTC-Metamask-Walletconnect on: June 16, 2022, 06:37:56 PM
I like the development of the OWL game team, looks like Owl game will be the best web 3.0 casino & sportsbook.

I tried out the casino before but to a good extent i can say i enjoyed playing on owl and using the native token is a plus as that gives you an extra hedge above other players using other currencies.

I mostly play with OWL tokens! It's a good thing they have that extra hedge, it's a nice motivation for using OWL tokens for playing, except staking of course! Still think that 2 OWLs is a bit high for the minimum bet, with my amount I can't push a lot or set some auto... but it is what it is, I don't play a lot, but I make a few bets everyday... trying to build some bankroll slowly!
bit high? 2 OWL only about $0.038

maybe you miscalculated!! Grin
