1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] profit switching auto-exchanging pool - middlecoin.com on: January 31, 2014, 01:14:50 PM
Glad to see payouts are looking good again today! After mining to a down server for 1/2 the day yesterday. I use GUIminer for my rigs. And yes, I know CGminer is better yadayadayda. Anyone know if there is a way to set up a fall over server in GUIminer? I get a much better ping to the useast server, but would like to have it set to fall over to middlecoin.com if useast is down. Thanks!

I also use guiminer.  To set failover, I just use the extra flags section as follows:
-o stratum+tcp://middlecoin.com:3333 -u youraddresshere -p x

I use another server as my primary as I am not in the US.
I'm sure a second set of -o -u -p right after the first set (useast?) would work for another failover server.

With the transaction timestamps of the rogue BTC address, it seems likely that the hackers were modifying the DB directly using a script, changing payout addresses and initiating payouts in succession.  They didn't even need to enter PINs.  This risk was practically eliminated by middlecoin by paying out to the username BTC addresses only, and transmitting the amounts daily when the threshold was reached.  Something for aTriz and nearmiss to think about.

h2odysee, more than half the page are of inactive addresses.  Can you set up a separate page for inactives (those not mining at the time of page creation) so that the page for actives finishes loading faster?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Pool][Profit-Switch][Optional Auto-Exchange per Coin][Vardiff] ~ Hashcows on: December 18, 2013, 02:29:56 AM
Are there any other pools that auto-trade and pay in BTC?

The auto switching coins is great and all but I don't want to bother trading coins and shit.

My miners at HC have been down with disconnected errors for like 6hrs now. Ridiculous.

middlecoin is your only other option I think.

Here's what I have in my home screen:
BTC payout: hashco.ws, middlecoin.com, cryptologik.com, alternatepool.com
LTC payout: switchercoin.com
Actual coin payouts: multipool.us, ctompo.dyndns.org:8083/Tompool

Their telephone number 'is not accepting calls at present. Please try later.' It's a Derby code.

Their address, 71–75 Shelton Street, is a virtual office known as Garden Studios.

aTriz and nearmiss, are you using Cryptsy for WDC valuation?  There's a small buy order stuck at 0.1 BTC, which may be causing profitability to be too high.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][Pool]Cryptologik.com Multi-Coin Best Profit Auto Exchange Pool on: November 30, 2013, 08:32:44 AM
Any reason why cryptologik has been down for the past 3 days?
8  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Pilipinas (Philippines) on: November 29, 2013, 01:27:07 PM
So far did tagbond release a client yet? I want to mine that coin!

Tagcoin forked yesterday, and will do a hard fork at block 12,000.  You (or the pool you use) must have v1.02 to continue, but you might not get much or anything at all from now until block 12,000.

Tagcoin's thread is at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=317408.0

Whoa, that last 26 minute round of TAG netted me 0.031 BTC (I only have about 1 MH/s). Awesome!

Awesome or forked?  Hopefully awesome. :-)

11  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is BFL liable for this statement? on: November 24, 2013, 03:23:32 PM
So has anyone sued BFL yet?

ionstorm's post in the other thread?  It's serious.  Notices of complaint and hearing have been sent to BFL dated Nov. 15.  Civil action hearing set on Dec. 12.
12  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BFL; screwing over my father in law. on: November 20, 2013, 11:56:27 PM
bitjet: If your FIL still has that email and he's in the US, he can go to small claims court.  Or he can go to a higher court like ionstorm did.  He can definitely forward the email exchange as a PDF file to ionstorm, and ionstorm can include it as evidence in his ongoing BFL lawsuit.  Not sure if your FIL can add his case to ionstorm's though, to save on time and fees.
13  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Facebook scammer list on: November 17, 2013, 04:44:05 AM

I concur.  His current FB address is https://www.facebook.com/mcjaysws , using the name "Marcus SyajcMaa".
You won't lose him with this address, in case he changes his shortcut again: https://www.facebook.com/n/?profile.php&id=100006732008030

Below is a thread in a Bitcoin FB group.  I checked Hashfast's website as well as their two active threads here, and couldn't find any Hashfast unit shipped.  How can they, when they just got their chips 9 days ago?  The thread below has already been removed, but he also posted his original announcement at https://www.facebook.com/groups/637061846307348/ .

$5 per GH/s is a very fair price. Kudos to you!

Xxx   6:39pm Nov 14
I gather you don't have this "in hand" and this is a 'pre-order"?

Xxx   11:58pm Nov 14
Hashfast had a Batch 0?

Aaron Mcjays   12:00am Nov 15
This is from the 1st batch. The next batch will be released mid to late January next year.

Only one person knows how Bitcoin works!  That is, until customers get this book "in two weeks" (actually, on Jan. 28, 2014).  Preorder now!

(I am not affiliated with the merchant, the publisher or the author.  Just found it while looking for parties that might sell Walmart GC for BTC).
15  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: http://www.asic-technologies.com/ on: November 09, 2013, 02:22:54 AM
ICANN requires all domain registrants to file real contact info when registering domains, and may cancel a domain if the info provided is false.  To keep domain info confidential, third party domain privacy entities are allowed to substitute their contact info for the actual registrant's contact info at the domain registrar level, so any whois request that the public makes will show the domain privacy entity's info ("The owner of the website is using a service to hide their identity").  In asic-technologies' case, Contact Privacy Inc is that entity, and Contact Privacy's address is in Toronto.  Tucows is the domain registrar, and fasthosts.co.uk is the domain reseller for Tucows.  Fasthosts is probably hosting the website, thus "Website Location: United Kingdom".

Contact Privacy Inc, as well as fasthosts.co.uk, both have the actual contact info provided by the asic-technologies scammers, but I doubt that the info would be real either.
16  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL calling "loyal" customers (from +1-866-723-3108) on: November 08, 2013, 02:12:46 AM
I doubt they'll even recoup the costs of the campaign tbh.

No costs on BFL's side for a willing call center.  Outbound centers get paid per sale, in this case, for a successful issuance of a coupon code.  I would tend to think that the coupon code wouldn't be enough for the center to get paid, and that BFL would require the code to be used by the lead to generate a payout to the center.

On the center's side, they can add upsells such as cards for free gas and groceries, magazine subscriptions, government grant training (is that still alive?), identity theft protection, etc, just to have an income stream while the coupon hasn't been used.

"Currently almost 70% of all Bitcoins mined today are being created upon KnCMiner hardware, distributed to customers in over 120 countries globally." - KNC

Hmmm.... wonder what Josh would have to say about that?

"Butterfly Labs has shipped more units than all other ASIC manufacturers combined.  Twice over."
18  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: BitPay processes $1 million bitcoin order for Butterfly Labs on: October 30, 2013, 09:11:10 AM
Maybe with all that money just arriving, BFL will be able to build those Jalapenos people ordered months ago?  Still waiting for my worthless paperweight to arrive, only 6 months late...

Now they can also process refunds and comply with FTC rules.
19  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YES, you can get a REFUND from BFL on: October 23, 2013, 01:21:20 PM
Today I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I took care to explain the appeal well. I could not remember service through which went bitcoin payments (service that is our BTC converted to USD when buying BFL ASIC miners).Does anyone know the name of this service?

Bitpay?
20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [FAILED]Butterfly Labs 30 day countdown to the end of September on: October 19, 2013, 01:30:54 AM
There's actually a wall in the last week of March that extends into April and ends in May, so if they're still at 50 or 60 employees today, the backlog could be stuck at 200+ days for the next few weeks.

50 or 60?? Where did you get that number?

There are EXACTLY 16 people assembling hardware.  SIXTEEN

They won't hire more because the parts trickle in the door and assembled units trickle out the door.

By the time people who ordered gear in July/August of 2013 get theirs they will be like Block erupters.

50 or 60 includes those who are not assembling -- accounting, (nonexistent) customer service, top-heavy but incompetent executive team, (nonexistent) R&D, shipping dept, cleaning and maintenance.
