41  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: April 07, 2024, 06:07:41 PM
I think we cannot really help the beginners to not get addicted to gambling. I mean, we can warn them a little, but if they still dive into the hole of gambling, then it is on them. They should experience it firsthand so that they will learn from their mistakes and be more careful next time (if they still want it). Let's just hope that they won't go bankrupt when they get addicted to gambling.

Regarding the gambling sites and casinos helping the players understand the risk of gambling and not get addicted, I think it is impossible. They can give some warnings but not help the players. I don't think so. If they help the players, then the number of players will decrease, resulting in less players and less profits for them.

44  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: April 06, 2024, 06:17:54 PM
I really don't believe in those kinds of "gambling experts," especially the ones that are saying that they have fixed matches for you and a guaranteed win, so you will win big. They will ask for payment first so you can enter the group chat where they will be putting their "fixed matches," and then you will bet on those. After a day, you will hope that a bet of yours will win, but it is the opposite, and they are not accountable if the fixed match is lost; they are not refunding the money you paid for them.

So next time, if you encounter those type of people it is better to leave them alone and do not interact with them.
45  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 06, 2024, 05:07:25 PM
With the Pelicans and Kings losing earlier, the Lakers can snatch the 8th seed tonight if they win against the Cavaliers. The Pelicans lose to the Spurs, and with that loss, the Pelicans' record is 45-332, 1 game behind the Kings and the Lakers. Kings, on the other hand, did manage to get close in the closing minutes, but still, the Celtics managed to win the game, 101-100. Those games for Pelicans and Kings are important since they are in the play-in spot, so every game should be a win since they are chasing the places. 7th and 8th seeds are much better seeds in the play-in since it will give you comfortability.

Speaking of the Lakers, they are now tied with the Kings with a record of 44-43. If they manage to win the game against the Cavs, they will be sitting in the 8th spot. Lakers and Cavs are both healthy, so we can see a great matchup today, and if the Lakers manage to win all the remaining games, they can be at the 7th or 6th seed at best.

Just funny though that in the beginning and if I still recall it correctly, some of us thinks that Wemby is just over hype rookie and we even put Chet above him for the rookie of the year as Chet is with a good team while Wemby's San Antonio is struggling.

But now we talk about his as DPOY which he is still a huge underdog against his country man @12.00, as compare to Gobert @1.02.

I guess we've seen him enough to say that he is no longer overrated as he has proved his skills already.

Maybe it has help him to play like he is expected to, the criticism he received made him better and now we are seeing the real beast in him. He is truly and Alien with a skills of an exceptional big man. he is still young, a lot of improvement he can do for himself and for his team, and as long as he keep himself healthy, the Spurs will likely be back to the playoffs again.

Odds now for DPOY, Gobert is still at the top, Wemby is next but not close.

https://www.covers.com/nba/nba-defensive-player-of-the-year-odds

I'm surprised to see Anthony Davis has fallen to number four on that list.  He was an early favorite to win DPOY after a great start defensively and I thought he was keeping it going.  He's even played in most of the games this season helping him shed the Street Clothes nickname.  I might have to take another look at the stats because I thought Anthony Davis was going to have his year, but now it seems that Gobert is going to win it again...  Not saying he doesn't deserve to win every year and his team is doing great, but I hoped we'd see a new name this year.

I thought he was going to be the DPOY too; some of the nba players are saying it too, like Bam, who said that Anthony Davis is the best defensive player at the league. But is Gobert winning again? I don't really know too; people do have voter's fatigue in MVP but not in DPOY. If he wins it, then congratulations to him; it will be his fourth time winning this award. I think the team records can affect the odds in this award; looking at the TWolves from a first-round exit from last season to a 3rd seed this season is great. But if AD wins it, he deserves it too; he is the Lakers' defense this season, and he has been healthy for them, giving it all out on the defensive side every game.
47  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always check the deposit address on: April 04, 2024, 03:35:28 PM
When doing a transaction, it is really a must to double check everything. Whether it is a bank transaction or a crypto transaction, whatever it is, double check it. Especially in crypto, where it is a p2p transaction, it is direct, so if one of the parties is wrong about their address, then it is gone; your funds are out of nowhere, and you can never get them back. Good thing for the OP; he used a casino address, so he can reach out to the casino itself to fix and retrieve the funds he just loaned. Casino can be at fault here too since they updated the wallet. Maybe next time, you should try to use your own personal wallet so you won't encounter this kind of problem. Yes, it is a hassle since you will transfer the funds from your wallet to the casino address, but still, at least your funds are safe and you know that they will be sent safely.
48  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 03, 2024, 03:35:42 PM
NBA fanatics we have a new poll for the coach of the year award. Only 2 voted so far. I voted for the young Mark Daigneault. No one expected the Thunder to come on top this season. Not even in the top 5. And Mark is coaching a very young line-up including a rookie. His starter lead by a 25 year-old Shai and the others are 21 and 22? Mark definitely deserved it even if OKC drops to number 3 in the west because Denver is expected while Minnesota has 3 superstars. And in the east? Boston is star-studded while the Bucks also added the veteran superstar Damian Lillard.
Same here, he turned the young OKC like a championship team. They were at number 1 but now at 3 but the season is not yet over. Regardless on what rank they'll finished, it's very evident that the OKC has showed some consistency and have beat a lot of great teams. SGA has been having some injury problem that's why they dropped, but even without their main man, they still win games which showed how good he is as a coach.

This young OKC team might be the dark horse in the playoffs, and I don't see them getting an early exit like a first round exit.

I don't think Oklahoma can be considered a championship team since it is just their beginning and they haven't even entered the playoffs with this core. A formidable team—yes,  we can say that—a championship? I don't really know. Yes, they are having a great season, which is a good beginning for them since everyone is waiting for this to come since they traded all of their superstars and gained a lot of round picks. Playoffs are a different environment; players with experience are more likely to win in the playoffs. That's why veteran presence is needed in these kinds of games. Just look at the Memphis Grizzlies and Kings last year; they got beaten by the Lakers and the Warriors, a team that possesses a lot of playoff experience.

But let's see if this year's playoff will be a different story. Can we see the Timberwolves and Thunder make it past the first round?
49  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Claw Machines: a category of gambling? on: April 03, 2024, 03:14:08 PM
It really depends on how an individual will view the claw machine. It can be viewed as gambling since you are risking your money. If money is involved and players are playing for the prize, especially if they are spending a lot, then it can be interpreted as gambling since some of the claw machines are influenced by chance. Another thing we can consider is that if the grip of the claw in the machine is randomized every time you try, it can be considered gambling since there are chances involved. On the other hand, it cannot be considered gambling since players are using a joystick or a controller to control the claw. With that, players are using their skill to get the prize rather than luck or chance, which are the key factors of gambling like slots and lottery.

Gambling or not, the more important thing is that the player is having fun!
50  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Use your winning responsibly on: April 01, 2024, 04:27:51 PM

As you are gambling responsibly, also use the money won responsibly.
I won 328,000 from Sportybet. It was a running game that finished 3 days ago and I decided to use the money wisely. I had a small television in my living room so I bought a Smart TV for 307,000  I am so happy seeing this in my living room.
As you are gambling, make sure to use the money won to do something that you will be proud of and happy about. You can invest some in Bitcoin, buy properties, etc.
Do not use all the money back to gamble, that's not wise.
Just wanted to drop my achievement from gambling responsibly here. Below is the Image of the TV installed

That's great! Congratulations to you for winning in gambling. That is nice that you always take profits when winning; don't roll it to gambling if you win some money. Maybe some of them, but not all the money you won. Treat yourself always. The more you put your winnings and lose them, the more frustrating it will be for you since you will think that you should cash them out instead of putting them back in gambling. Treat yourself to some of the winnings so you won't always be frustrated, and it can help you think clearly and make you positive since you already bought something with the money you won.

51  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: April 01, 2024, 04:08:39 PM
Less than 10 games already for most of the teams. It's the first time I appreciate this new play-in system. It makes the games better since some of the bottom teams are still playing hard for a chance to enter the playoffs. Without the play-ins, many teams would've rested their main players with minor injuries to heal and give way to the other players.

That's exactly why the play-ins were created, to maintain the season's competitiveness from the start to finish. Look at how the teams from 5th seed down to the 11th seed in the Western Conference, they are tightly competing for either a secured spot in the playoffs or secure a spot for the play-ins. Lakers, Warriors, and Rockets are now has a close competition to secure a play-ins spot, with the Rockets and Warriors being close to each other with 2-3 games apart. Every game left for these 3 teams are a must, otherwise one of these teams will get behind and drop to the 11th seed. The Rockets are on 11th winning streak, so the Warriors must watch out as they need to get a consistent W's before the season ends.

When this was implemented, I kind of hated it since getting into the playoffs is much harder now with the play-in. Way back, you just needed to secure the 1st to 8th spot and you were good to go, but now that you have secured the 7th or 8th spot, you can still slide down to the 9th spot and cannot go to the playoffs. But looking at it now, I can see the beauty in it and why they implemented this so that every game has more meaning, especially for those players that are in the play-in spot. In the past, if there were few games to be played, some of the teams would rest some of their players so they would be healthy when the playoffs came.

Overall, play-in tournaments make the league more competitive since teams will value the game more. I think the downside of this one is that after the 82 games, records don't count; one game can change everything, just like what happened in the Miami vs. Hawks last season. The Heat had a better record, yet the Hawks became the 7th seed because they beat the Heat.
52  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How about your experience in taking part in the same bet with friends? on: March 31, 2024, 04:40:37 PM
I tried it once when I asked my coworkers about and thoughts about the NBA games, and he said that he hadn't thought of that yet, so I said that I would get back to him after a few hours. But after thinking, I've never reached out to him that day because I realized that we have our own judgments on things; one might work for him, one might not work for me, so for me, I would rather get lost with my own judgement than lose with someone else's. Yes, losing with someone is much more comforting since you have someone that you can share the frustration with, but it is much more happy if you win with your own judgement.
53  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: March 31, 2024, 04:09:45 PM
Emotion:

The cause of the emotion in the gambling site because of the loss due to bad luck. The gambling loss mostly occurred due to the emotional inference to the game.If the gamblers loss the funds in the gambling site, they become emotionally weaker person. This cause for the random betting in the gambling site. The more you control your emotions will cause you to win more in the gambling site.

The gambling is the game with two possibilities, which is the winnings and losing. The winning happens if you use your strategies to make the money, the gamblers who failed to make use of the strategies are the loser at the end of the gambling. The winner of the gambling always make money from it,So he get positive emotions towards the game. The gamblers with more positive emotions are able to win more in the long run in the gambling site.

Nearly eighty percentage of the gamblers are doing gambling for the money making,So it was essential for the gamblers to make use of their strategies to win money from the gambling site. How your emotions affects your games, let me know your past experience.

I agree. Most of the time, when we get carried away by our emotions, we tend to make some of the shitty decisions and end up ruining our day or, for the worst, ruining our life. So when betting, we should be taking it one step at a time, since if we rush things, we might end up taking the hard road. I sometimes get carried away too, I don't know, maybe human instinct, and end up, just like what I said, doing some questionable bets and ending up losing it all. I guess it should be a lesson to be learned for me—an expensive lesson, LOL. But it is a must that in gambling, you should be in a clear and good state so you will think straight and you can judge clearly so you won't have any regrets when betting. Also, if things go wrong, taking a break would be nice since it can separate you from the stress of losing in gambling. Then, after the break, maybe try again, try small, then feel the monument, and don't forget to take profit. Taking profits can lighten up our mood, and we will be more positive.
54  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: March 30, 2024, 05:37:51 PM
Being addicted to gambling can affect a lot of things; of course, the main victim is the addict itself. Gambling can ruin one's life if he really dives into the rabbit hole of it, financially, mentally, or maybe physically, if he hurts himself whenever he loses. The worst of the three is maybe financially. I guess since everything we do needs money, and to be honest, when you have no money, it is like you have no energy, and it is hard to move. The second that can be affected is the family. Since the victim is unstable, in the worst case, he can hurt his family and be physically and mentally absent from them, making him invincible.

That is just one of the things an addicted gambler can encounter if he really continues to bury himself in the rabbit hole of gambling.
55  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 29, 2024, 05:59:21 PM

For me it's a combination of factors, like you said, Ime Udoka bring his experience in this organization coming from Celtics (which he brought them to the Finals but lost eventually). And then Brooks, who could lead and probably this is what he is doing right now and doesn't want to create anymore distractions. And Jalen Green, highly touted coming in the NBA and supposedly should win the Rookie of the Year. But now everything is working out with them. The experience of Fred VanFleet and Dillon Brooks to lead the not so experience team right now.

Yes, the experienced of both Fred and Dillion gives them that matured approach on how coach Ime wants the system to work for the entire teams, we seen respect and trust with all the players who are inside the court, with that good development, this young team might continue to developed and their quest for being a playoff contender might be shaping now, I like the way they are bringing the competition and with all the players are contributing with the roles that they are being assigned, we will see more good games from this team, and maybe the chance of taking the last spot for the play-in still on the process.

I really like what the Houston Rockets are cooking in here. They hire a good coach, which is Emeka. Even though he has some issues with Boston, Houston has taken the risk of hiring him to run, build, and create a culture there in Houston after James departure. I think Emeka is one of the reasons why James' comeback to Houston is voided, since he wants to create something, a culture, so, if you think about it, signing Fred makes much more sense than signing Harden. Harden might become a diva to the time and might chuck all the shots and may steal the spotlight from the young players. With Vanvleet, he can be the veteran guard that can help the young players develop and be the voice in the locker room. They also sign Brooks, which can be an energizer for the team; he can add shooting and defense for the team.

Adding these veterans really boosts their roster because one of the reasons the Rockets sucked too much last season is that they don't have a veteran presence that can say what the wrongs and rights of the young players are. This season, Vanvleet and Brooks can call them out and discipline them.
56  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Going all in and losing the bet on: March 29, 2024, 04:50:07 PM
For me, I think you are just imagining things because you lost that bet. What if you bet smaller and didn't go all in? Would you be mad like this? I guess not. There are things that we can't control. Even though we are sure of our decisions and calculations, we still should have a safety net when we bet. You know that casinos are risky and kind of sketchy, but still, you bet all in. I think that part is your fault. Maybe next time you should be careful because we don't know; sometimes sh*t happens.

I always feel like that when I am betting, so I just bet small and safe so I won't regret it if I lose some money. Yes, sometimes I bet big, but not that much since I don't want to risk it.
57  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don't make your bets when you're tired on: March 28, 2024, 04:58:40 PM
Hi ,

From a personal experience that happened to me not long ago, and I want to share it with you guys.

After a hard day's work, and as usual every night before going to sleep, I make some bets on football matches and then i look for a game to pass some time. That night I wanted to play the crash game, knowing that I used to play it almost every day. I started playing and i was changing the amount of money, the bet from one round to the next, and the amount was very small, from 20 dollars to 40. After the start, a few minutes later, I did not understand what happened. I opened my eyes and saw the amount of 500 dollars written on the screen. When I looked closely, I found that I had bet on it and lost the bet for a trivial reason, which is that I made a mistake. When writing a number due to exhaustion and fatigue.
As I was not able to see clearly, to be honest with you, that drowsiness took over and I could not sleep that night as I felt very disappointed because that amount for me was too large to lose it in a game like this.

In general, I realized my mistake and no longer made my bets while I was tired. Concentration is the most important thing in any effort we make, and we must always be at full mental strength, as there are many factors that may affect your chances of winning or losing.

I hope everyone benefits from my experience, thank you

Yes, that is really a no-no when it comes to gambling. You should be in a healthy state, so your mind will be functioning well and you can bet and judge freely because you are not tired. Sometimes we bet unintentionally because our minds and bodies are not aligned. I remember last time, it was time to go to sleep, and then I suddenly wanted to bet just to let the time pass and get drowsy and fall asleep eventually. As soon as I wake up, I see on the app that I lost some money. The good thing is it isn't a lot of money, so we are still good to go.

So next time that we are gambling, we should consider the state of ourselves: are we in a good state or are we tired? If we are tired, it is better to rest and get back tomorrow when we are in
58  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does gambling excites you ? on: March 28, 2024, 03:21:09 PM
Well, sometimes it does make me excited, especially if it's early in the morning. A new day, a new hope for us to win in gambling. The energy is just so different when it is a new day. You have this overflowing confidence that you can win it all, and you are positive since it is a new day. But hours have passed, and I eventually feel anxious, especially if you frequently bet and you haven't gained any profit. You lose, then win, then lose, and win again. That kind of pattern is making me nervous.

But I think getting excited about gambling doesn't make you addicted to it. Just like you said, you are just having fun since you enjoy gambling. You can be labeled as addicted to gambling if you cannot control yourself; even when losing, you still gamble. If you are gambling within your salary and know when to stop, then you are still fine and safe.
59  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling until you go totally broke on: March 27, 2024, 05:57:31 PM
It is sad to hear your friend go like that in gambling. He might not have planned the consequences that he might face if he goes broke or bankrupt, and that is the reason why he goes to his friends like you. Also, good job for you for lending him some money that he can use to survive the days before his salary comes. As gamblers, we should consider this kind of thing. Don't let us be blinded by greed, as we still need to live our everyday lives. Our lives do not revolve around gambling; we have our own lives too. So if you lose today, then you should be done, and let's get back to the next day. There are more days that we can try again.

Good thing for me; I haven't had a phase like that, like going broke because of gambling (and I don't want to experience it either). I always think of the next thing and always have a backup plan.
60  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 27, 2024, 04:35:46 PM
Big win for the Lakers in double overtime. Milwaukee Bucks made a lot of mistakes, they are too leaning on three-point shots while they have the best attacker in Giannis. Beasley was not shy to keep on shooting threes even if they didn't really need it. This is where the Lakers took advantage of the opportunity to make it to the front and win the 2nd overtime.
That was a big upset considering the spread was -10.5. And without a doubt, Lebron was happy that his team won despite his resting from an injury.

Looking back, I thought this game would be a blowout win for the Bucks, as they led the Lakers 6–23 in the first quarter. Without Lebron and the Bucks is healthy, and with that kind of lead early in the game? Everyone thought it would be a win for the Bucks, but the Lakers climbed up late in the game. With a couple of clutch shots from Reaves and good defensive play from Davis, the Bucks had their chances to seal the game but couldn't get it done. The turning point of this game was when Giannis missed his free throws, and after that, the Lakers never looked back and won the game.

It is a good team effort; everyone has their own contributions to make to win this game, and with the next 5 games of the Lakers are the Grizzlies, Pacers, Nets, Raptors, and Nets. I can see them winning this all; that's five more wins to add to their current record.
