Yes, if you are running on 200+ volt wall power this PSU is perfect for the S7.
We have clients running hundreds of these with S7's with good success. The power consumption number listed on the Antminer website for the S7 is as measured at the wall the 1200 Watt number on this PSU is measured at the 12 volt output after conversion AC/DC conversion losses. If you were to measure this PSU at full 1200 Watt load at the wall it would actually be drawing a bit over 1300 Watts at the wall.
Bottom line is it is a common confusion but this PSU works well for S7 when running on 200+ volt power.

I have a number of PSU from EVGA and have done some testing with powering 2 S5 Antminers from on PSU. I found that the 80 Plus Gold EVGA 1300 Watt SuperNova does an excellent job powering two miners with fans on front and back of both. Also the 1300 watt is fairly quiet and does not seem heat up too much. I have found that the 1600 watt 80 Plus Platinum is a bit overkill and could probably power 3 Antminer S5's, but seems to get excessively hot just powering two. While the EVGA 1600 watt 80 Plus Titanium runs two Antminer S5's and stays super cool and in ecco mode doesn't even need to power up the fan to stay cool. What I found very interesting was that the older generation EVGA NEX 1500 Classified watt rated at 80 Plus Gold gave me about 15% to 20% more hashing performance. The NEX Classified did run a little hotter than the Supernova 1300 watt but not as hot as the 1600 watt Platinum. Also the dip switches allow you to power up without sticking a paperclip in the mb cable (something that always made me a little uneasy). Also you can change it to single rails from 8 independent ones and with 220v overclock the psu to 1650 watts. I don't know if the 20% boost in hashing power makes up for the slight inefficiency in power conversion but for me i always like to see faster hash rates. Has anyone else seen other PSUs that seem to provide you a boost in hash rates?
Intel's DPS-1200TBA Platinum with a Gigampz breakout board for $113 w/shipping is the best deal out there right now. It's a server grade PSU at substantially less money than any similarly specked ATX PSU out there. I'm just gonna ask this, how much are the petitioners going to have to pay in lawyers fees? i know the court only allowed somewhere in the range of $60,000 to be disbursed to them, but they requested something like $1,250,000, is that going to be billed to the petitioners? I would assume some of the bigger names like KOI could eat it and use it as a tax write off, or is it going to be distributed evenly? Just some information i'd like to know.
I know some lawyers have it in a clause they they would eat it and write it off, but i don't think that would apply to many bankruptcy proceedings.
Anyone have this information?
I'm not sure I understand your question. If you are asking who determines how much the lawyers ultimately get paid it's the judge. If you are asking if creditors would some how be responsible for covering any difference between what the judge allows in legal fees and what is available the answer is no. If their isn't enough recovered to pay the lawyers they eat the cost. If the judge decides not to allow their full fee they eat that cost too. The confirmed plan was decided by the judge, they seem to be eating a very large amount is all. The creditors are completely different from petitioners, they are the group that actually got the lawyers involved. as far as i understood there was a chance the petitioners would have to pay the unpaid bills, not the creditors. I mean, $1mil + is alot to eat and use as a write off. The difference in what you posted and what i asked is you are talking about petitioners are creditors(as a whole) which they are not... ... yes i understand they get a small chunk of what they are owed from the court ruling, but the left over is not the responsibility of the petitioners? that seems a little backwards to me, thats why i was asking if there was a clause or two protecting the petitioners or not. *hope that clears up any misinterpretation* I see what you're asking. The answer is no, the petitioners aren't on the hook for any of the lawyer fees that you are asking about. The petitioners paid their lawyer out of their own pocket upfront to file the petition but the cost of the bankruptcy process that ensues after a company is in bankruptcy is not their responsibility. Bankruptcy lawyers know there is a chance that they won't get paid the full amount they claim it is routine part of their business. |

What's the best 1500w+ PSU? I currently have a EVGA 1300W G2 and it's been great - been pushing 1400W without any problems. However, I need a bit more power and preferably more efficiency. Should I just jump to the EVGA SuperNOVA 1600 P2/T2 or is there anything else better out there? Also, I read that the P2 comes with 14 PCI-e cables, can anyone confirm? The 1300G2 was only 8.

Folks, soon I will possess an S5. I am now looking to buy a PSU.
At some point in the future, it may be anywhere from 2-10 months, I will probably get another miner such as S7 etc.
Couple of questions -
1) Should I get a PSU that will support future miners? Ie. get something like a 1300-1500W PSU?
2) If yes, surely this will be overkill for a single S5 and will end up costing me more in electricity bills?
3) Should I instead get something like a 750W PSU and then later in the year buy another PSU if/when I need one?
Appreciate any thoughts.
