Just got the message masternode collateral is up. How do I redeploy my mn? HOWTO only explains how to set it up in the first place. Can I simple send the additional collateral needed (2000) the collateral address?

Any chance Hyperspace will go PoS and escape the miner drama of Sia?
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CITY] City Chain - Blockchain for the Smart City Platform on: December 11, 2018, 03:35:24 PM
So, if this project is for smart cities, which are not existed in the world at the moment and there are no any dates when at least one of them will be started, when your token will give profits to your investors.

Seems like the project is closely associated with both Liberstad and Liberland. Liberstad and a very real thing. Whether it will become a "smart city" is an open question, but the idea of placing their land registry etc on the blockchain is an easy first step.

Also, I cannot find that they did an ICO and therefore have any investors. Where can we even buy these coins?

Edit: Duch, just noticed the link to exchanges now... Seems like this is more like an offer to buy, than a real exchange. When can we see listing on existing exchanges?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CITY] City Chain - Blockchain for the Smart City Platform on: December 11, 2018, 03:31:58 PM
This looks like a very cool project! The association with Liberstad, which is physical and real, gives this chain distinct qualities totally absent in the majority of projects. I will download and checkout the client. Where can I get coins? Is there a faucet of sorts to try it out and perhaps start staking?

Hey, Is there a Sia Prime block explorer?

Can anyone confirm that CAT has actually given them the profit it reports?

I have been running CAT for about 2 weeks now. While CAT reports a net profit practically all coins have been traded at net loss according to the trade history on Poloniex. The net loss is significantly higher than the net profit reported by CAT.

It has been very difficult for me to establish the reasons for this discrepancy, as I am trading across 30+ markets and CAT is ping-ponging frequently.

Someone here mentioned that the trade history and analysis is buggy on Polo. I don't see that it makes any mistakes, however.

Maybe I should be a little more systematic and let CAT run on just 1-2 markets for a while... Still, would be nice to hear peoples' experiences.

Hi guys, is it still available to mining with HDD? and, i just wonder why no one talk about internet cost? i mean if i allocate 1tb hd to mining then i will download 1tb of data right? it will be so expensive if compare it with electricity or hdd price ... or i miss something here? thank you

You don't really mine with your HDD/SSD on Sia. You can either PoW-mine, or participate as a host on the network. As a host you are paid. The demand for storage space is currently low. There are some profit calculators on http://siapulse.com/page/tools you can use.

Many of my Ping orders (and some Pong) orders have the status "Death". This happens after running CAT for a day or longer.

I assume "Death" means the order is no longer listed on the exchange. Is that correct?

Can someone explain in more detail what happens with these orders? Are they relisted? Will they disappear from CAT eventually?

Dead order coul happens in different ways, it depends by the exchange you're trading on.
I think you're on Poloniex right?
First question is : how much is the remaining QTY of the Order?

Yes, Poloniex.

Remaining QTY is mostly a high percentage of the original order (>50%).

What I have noticed is that many of these "Death" orders are listed at BUY prices above the current market SELL price, or at a SELL price that is lower than the current market BUY price. Meaning, therefore, that the order are no longer listed on Poloniex (if they were, they would fill immediately).

In CAT 4.6 there seems to be a bug, in BTC markets at least, where an old order keeps getting reloaded as a new one during every refresh:
Not sure to have understand what the problem is.
If you have a log please send me.

EDIT: taking a fast look at your logs there's a moment where CAT stop making actions (at the end of market log) but your 85 USDT seems legit.
Gain on this market is in USDT not BTC.

The $85 is definitely incorrect. I checked and the profit is only $0.28. The cumulative sum $85 is because the same orders keep getting loaded back into CAT every 40 s.

Loaded back from where?
It's very strange because nobody ever had this kind of problem with CAT 4.6

I mean that the same orders from Poloniex gets loaded into CAT again and again (see the logs).

I have now checked my altcoin trades as well, and there is the same problem there. Orders that were executed on Poloniex get loaded back into CAT over and over again.

Here are ALL namecoin trades executed today (February 6th) on Poloniex:
https://pixeldra.in/u/YlIRFS

and here for comparison are all the namecoin trades CAT claims to have made:
https://pixeldra.in/u/G1i0DX

Quite a difference!

The conclusion is that I have absolute no idea what CAT is doing! It tells me its running all these orders, when in fact it isn't. The cumulative gain keeps growing and growing and from the looks of it I will get rich soon enough:

Except that the vast majority of all the trades CAT are reporting are trades that "never" happened. I say "never" because the orders were executed at least once, but keep being registered by CAT as "new" trades.

If CAT cannot tell apart old from new trades, then how does it know how to ping-pong correctly?

I would happily help to solve this bug, because I have paid for a license and want to use it.

EDIT: While I wrote this, CAT registered 303 new trades over 21 markets while not a single trade was executed on Poloniex.

Needless to say, the Cumulative profit is hugely inflated...

Let me know if you need any other info to fix this bug.

What is the difference between a Dynamic and Static trade?

Would be very nice if CAT had some context, mouse-hover help strings explaining the input fields because in most cases you have to guess and there is no documentation to speak of really.

With static cat always sell and buy at the same price. With dynamic there are recalculations, limits, stop loss etc....
As you can see if you change mode from Dynamic to Static many options will disappear.

Thanks for the explanation, and fast reply as always :-)

But, none of the options change when I switch between Dynamic and Static when I use the Ping Order Creator.

Why did you say there's no documentation?
What is this? : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=507103.msg5590896#msg5590896

and you can always pm me for any doubt/question, you know that  Wink Wink

Sure. I prefer to post here, since then others can benefit from the answers you provide.

You are right, there is documentation. I actually searched through that and didn't find an explanation to the static/dynamic question. The documentation often does not go in depth on definitions etc. It would be useful to have more of that. Best would be if there was help in the app itself.

Hi, what CAT Version are you using? Because on version before 4.6 (or 4.5 i don't remember) there was an errore on CAT fees.
In fact, i tought Poloniex put in the FEES field, the calculated fee amount, but then i notice that there was the % and not the calculated fees.

In your case 0.00000015 BTC is probably 0.15% (then i must calculate trade qtyxprice - 0.15% = total without fees).
This is why i think you're not using CAT 4.6

Never mind. I made a mistake. The 0.001 was the TOTAL column, i.e. BUY amount + FEE and not just FEE (in BTC). My error. Tried to remove the post, but you replied too fast :-)

Using CAT 4.6.

In any case, there is something strange going on, which is why I started looking at the logs on Polo. The Trade History page on Polo suggests that I have lost more than 1 BTC total on ADRD trading alone:

I have only traded ADRD with C.A.T. so this is very odd, as the Cumulative Gain reported by C.A.T. is positive 0.05 BTC.

I am still trying to figure out where this inconsistency comes from. I have looked at other coins traded too, and see a similar trend there. There is thousands of numbers to crunch here so this will obviously take a while to figure out.

I would like to change the default pool parameters. Is the unit in the fields below in BTC or the altcoin I am trading in that pool (except where its percentages, obviously)?

Sad to see a such good coin so doomed...

Sad to see all these vultures waiting over Sia like a prey about to die.

Sorry, Sia is not dying any time soon. If you have followed the development of Sia in any capacity, then you would not say "doomed". Instead, you would pick up the coin at what is a low-point.

Sia isnt a "coin". The "coin" is just a part of the protocol to ensure participants have a way to pay each other. The value of the Siacoin does not reflect the status, quality or future of the Sia network.

But the fact you point out the "coin (is) so doomed" just proves you know nothing.

And the picture above of a drunk santa is almost funny. If only it would say "Dumb Sia speculator" instead of "Sia investor"...
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: (SC) Siacoin Speculation on: May 28, 2016, 05:29:10 AM
I actually sold it all for a few satoshi profit and flipped back into Monero back in April.  I made half a bitcoin profit at most.   Cry
If you have followed Sia you may know that the recent price hike was all down to Yunbi (a large Chinese exchange) listing Siacoin next to a small selection of other alts. So, consider what will happen when 1.0 is launched ...
Based on that I'd guess "what will happen" (with respect to price) will depend more on what large Chinese exchanges do than on what versions are launched.

If this was a typically vanilla altcoin, I would agree. But there is a significant difference between SC and a "payments" coin. SC will not compete with other coins to become yet another payments protocol. Rather, siacoin serves the purpose of mediating payments for file storage. So, I do think that the 1.0 launch, with an consumer oriented UI and API for 3rd party developers, will boost the utilized storage volume, and therefore also Siacoin price (since renting storage on the network requires the uploader to pay with Siacoin).

I would say now is a good time to re-enter Sia. It is down that 53-54 sats and seems to have hit a resistance level there. I doubt it will go much lower.

Good luck on whatever path you choose!
