Currently the biggest player in the field is Steemit platform and it will be very hard to compete them. Is your long term plan to take them down or to be No.2 Decentralized Social Network?? Second option is more realistic.
Hello and Thank you for your responses and interest in Sphere. We plan to focus on our own platform rather than "taking out" the competition. We're not trying to push old-style networks like Facebook and Twitter out of business. Decentralized social networks are unquestionably better, but at the moment there's room for us all, and lots of overlap in users. We have significantly different features from Steemit, which is more blog-based. Sphere's social network will let users create groups to share interests, create campaigns and we are planning a marketplace that will use our Social Activity Tokens (SAT). We will implement new ideas suggested by our community and will constantly improve features to attract more users. Right now we have an overwhelming amount of positive feedback. People are loving the project. They are looking forward to its success. Are you implementing some of the same ideas? Earn SAT based on activity, comments, votes, etc? I think this social network would be a suitable alternative to the currently social network. Mankind is gradually getting used to decentralization, hence this is another step in progress. |

Huh, i didn't realize that the project was so far, i need to read up and study this further. I am starting to see what's the whole hype on this thing. That's great that they are already in partnerships. I think this use-case will fit perfectly on the blockchain. Partnerships always help to increase the popularity of a project and strengthen it, I hope they could get some more to reinforce the project. I wrote before. Datum was gathering your data from twitter and facebook etc. Sphere is a social media also giving control of your data which you make using them. You can't stop facebook and twitter selling your data with datum you can also sell it too but with sphere you can make your own decision. What I dont understand is, what is the point of decentralizing a social network? I get that you will be in control of your own data, but why create a social platform? People need social platforms. And the current ones are centralized also selling your data and no privacy at all. So they are making a decentralized one which you can control your data. If you don't need social platform i can get it but for the rest of the world, it can be something. More and more people learn about crypto, I think the social network on this platform is logical extension of the crypto evolution. |

This is a good question! Granted getting users is the hardest part and once you have users you can come up with something. Either way, would be interested to hear what the devs say about it. Maybe will be unobtrusive advertising in web site, I also think there will be many partners who want to promote their products for modest reward. They maybe using some professional service like idnow for the initial verification. its very scrupulous and you can hardly get away with fake documents. According to the website and whitepaper, they're planning to enable users an access to a lot of serious services like e-notary, citizenship matters and much more, which is a whole new level. I believe they will be able to verify an authenticity of a document and forgery is a serious crime. Yes they work with notaries on their ecosystem. All of the services are completely serious and authenticity is forefront! I agree, they have a solid team of lawyers. Everyone has a wonderful biography and a lot of experience in this plane. I think these guys know their business! |
