Just completed a HW purchase using this escrow, really good and easy to use!

And here's the crazy part they are just getting delivered and now the coin devs are doing what they can to make sure fpga's and asic's dont mine on their chains so the fpga's are going to be fighting with asic for profits
Which coins specifically are against FPGAs? For example even XMR is not entirely against FPGA. MBC for example is working on a fork against ASIC right now but is welcoming FPGAs.

Nowadays fpga mining hardware market is flooded. vcu/bcu1525 owners barely seeing $5-6/day income, this is 2+ year roi atm. And bcu1525 profit for sure will be more and more cannibalized by cvp13, and all other upcoming fpga boards. And we are not even taking into account probability of algo forking on big altcoins
Why do you think CVP-13 would cannibalize VCU/BCU earnings? The price/performance ratio is almost the same (+/- 30%).

https://store.mineority.io/

Mineority couldn't make it. Sorry for anyone that signed with them.

Squirrels, FPGA.land, Zetheron will be next. They are all connected.

Anyone that hasn't got their refund for the 1525's, better hurry. They all are probably bleeding out.

Too bad the little guys can't compete with Bitmain, etc. Check out the F1 FPGA miners. Clearly looks like Bitmain.

12 algos to choose from....not waiting on 1 dude to come out with a stream at double the price for a unit.
Was on that webpage anything other than now? They are closing 1 company and moving the activities under another company.
From the discord most of the BCUs got shipped, so I don't understand that sensence about refunds... Also there are another producers of boards with VU9P/13P FPGA chips, some already shipping, some shipping soon.
I am personally happy to have a VCU, although things are not going so fast as anticipated, but that is true for everything crypto related (incl. first BTC ASIC chips and 3rd party asic miners in 2013).

Bye Bye squirrels...

https://www.hashaltcoin.com/en/batches/1

Way cheaper and easier than this op. Bitmain wins again and won't charge 4%.

A dropdown menu rather than waiting for a bitstream.

Check out - ''The Technicals'' on Youtube.
F1 is made of earlier generation of small FPGAs. Look at the power usage for example. And it is "closed source". You are dependent on the vendor to release new algos or to delete existing algos, you cannot run 3rd party bitstreams on F1. But yes, it is an alternative, which has its pros and cons.

I am whitefire customer and using his private BS. Its $16 - $20 per day revenue on $4000 board. I am also not running the board at its full potential. You can add 10 - 20% on top of $16 - $20 per day revenue if you provide good cooling to board.

You can do rest of the math.

Ok, Thank you for clarification.  Can you also report  Does BS have any integrated devfee and what profit it generates without devfee?
Devfee is exactly 4%.

So interesting thing say that algorithm and coin are private. Nobody can verify it. Some illiterate customers bought a boards for very high price and make you 200% profit. But board can do any amount of money per day and anybody can't confirm it.

Can anyone of your trusted (not newly registered) customers post information here?
I am running it since Monday evening and was getting $16/day on my VCU. Seems using other pool makes $20/day for some reason. I switched pools yesterday, so will see in a few days if it's better.

Will the bcu owners need to get the DC1613A dongle for hash boost like the vcu's?
Latest information on Discord is that DC1613A is not needed for BCU.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: October 07, 2018, 07:07:37 PM
fpga now worst than asic.

already became nice doorstepper !  Grin Cheesy
How do you define doorstepper? Something with long ROI, or something which cannot earn at least for its electricity?
VCUs electricity cost is still under 20% of earned amount for all the already released algos (and the more profitable algos are only going to come).

For the BCU-1525 it appears that there are 4 heatsink options and I have been asked to complete a survey to chose my cooling options.

As a group buy purchaser back in June, I m really confused on the options and what performance benefits we will see.

I ordered the $3600 USD models with RAM and "mods and alterations".

The 4 options are:

1) stock factory BCU Xilinx heatsink
2) SQRL upgraded passive heatsink
3) SQRL upgraded active heatsink
4) SQRL water block

Does my $3600 model include the #2 heatsink?

What will the mining performance variance be for the 4 different options?

Can the active air cooled units mine as quickly as the water cooled units assuming 4 or 8 cards in a standard GPU mining rack with external fan blowing?

Thnx!
You can get "2)" for free, but there is some delay. So you either get "1)" now or wait 1-2 weeks for "2)".
"3)" is "2)" with fitter powerful fan.
"4)" is a water block. You can either have "1)" shipped now and water block later, which you will install yourself and void warranty, or wait until end of Oct and have water block installed at factory and shipped with card.

"2)" can run 350-400 W with good airflow. I don't think you can cool with air the same as with water, however the difference in water is not so huge as it is for VCU1525.

The whole survey is because they got the cards before the heatsinks, so you have option to wait or not to wait for them...
All this info is from the Discord.

It's alive!  The board is mining the first time!!!

All 4 FPGAs are up. It takes 4 FPGAs to achieve one 9p Xilinx FPGA.
I assume miners do not care how many FPGAs are on board as long as the size/cost is lower, and the power consumption is lower.

Keccak algorithm is currently un-optimized
Running air cooled
Mining 0xBTC at 8.6Gh/s to 9GH/s
Current draw: approx. 80Watt.
So at 13 GH/s it would be approx. 120-130 Watt? How could you achieve so much better Hash/watt ratio than VCU1525 using VU9P FPGA even with un-optimized bitstream?
VCU running 13 GH/s 0x bitstream is taking 200 watts.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: September 06, 2018, 08:21:04 AM
Odds Xilinx partnered w/Bitmain and would do a pre-emptive release of ther FPGA hardware before this one?

Odds Bitmain got a hold of some of these boards, figured what parts to "hog" and bought the bulk of the stock?
Bitmain uses some smaller Xilinx FPGA for their management boards for their ASIC miners. There is no evidence yet there would be directly making FPGA miners.
All design details of VCU1525 including BOM was public on Xilinx website until recently. So anybody could take the BOM list and try to buy all the stocks of some components.

Are you saying some people from batch 1 have received their 1525?

Whitefire said that a much more profitable bitstream would be available Aug. 11th if I recall correctly. Where is it?
Whitefire advertised $20-$50 per day...
Many people (including me) received their VCU1525 directly from Xilinx official distributors. As whitefire mentioned in the beginning, this card needs some modding, that's one of the reasons the group buy for modified BCU1525 started. So many people are already mining on these cards and using bitstreams from 2 distinct developers (whitefire/zetheron and digitalcruncher).

That more profitable bitstream should be available by 15.9. As whitefire mentioned, many changes in the coins happeneded in the last few months. He had to stop developments of some half-finished bitstreams due to either coins now having zero value or changing their mining algos. That also adds to the delays in bitstream publication.

Whitefire "advertised" (approximated) $20-$50 per day, but of course in the market conditions of that time (price, difficulty, algos). I guess he doesn't have a crystal ball to know how that all would be in 3 months.

New FPGA & FPGA RIGS pre-orders: https://nocroom.com/fpga/
What is the source of the BCUs you are trying to sell? You have a pre-order from the group buy and are re-selling?
Because there is no other way to obtain a BCU.
Also do you have your own implementation of Cryptonight Heavy bitstream? Because nobody announced one yet.
I suppose it's xilinx direct, the shipping date is 2019 so this is probably a different batch.
Nocroom seems to be a legit company founded in 2016 for what it's worth. No idea why they would jump on the fpga bandwagon as it's not their primary business
As per all the information from Discord, the BCU won't be sold by Xilinx. It is based on XBB board (production version of VCU) which is not ready yet and when it will be it will have way bigger price than VCU/BCU. The only thing you can buy from Xilinx is VCU and XBB in the future.

There are no more BCU1525 available until December, and even Xilinx has almost no VCU1525 available either.  So anyone claiming to have a big order is fake.

Bittware is the best way to go right now.  The XUPVV4-VU9 is available relatively soon and their 300A board around October.

You mean no possibility to order VCU1525 from Xilinx partners anymore (with reasonable lead times)? I mean few boards, not 1000 Smiley
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: July 08, 2018, 08:36:20 PM
thats like x10 faster then 1080ti does on 0x for way lower power consumption but still at current prices thats like 10$ a day and roi on it will still be about 1 year or more depending on the 0x price :-\One more algo gone in the wind for gpu miners Cry
Where are you checking the price / mining comparison for all the 0x tokens?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: DIY FPGA Mining rig for any algorithm with fast ROI on: June 30, 2018, 08:12:56 AM
is anyone who bought one of these actually hashing on one of these things yet?
Hi,
I tried Tribus yesterday, it works fine with 1 thread of 600 MH/s. With 2 threads the miner started throttling as the temperature reached 85 degress celsius. 3 threads (1.8 GH/s) are possible, but I have to tune my cooling and lower VCCINT.

Have any Alogos been released apart from Keccak?

And has anyone actually got around to using Keccak?
My card should arrive in 2 days, so I will test Keccak and report back hopefully this as time will permit.

Is there any way too get in on the VCU1525 Bulk Order?
I was getting my ETH ready and honestly missed the boat by a few hours.
FPGAland says sold out.
I want the 3,600 dollar option.
Can I still get 1 or will there be another order? If so when would the ship date be?
They said that the next batch will be in 2019. No more batches this year. But you can still buy the original card from Xilinx if you are a company. However they seem to have longer lead times now...
