241  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Don't buy any miner on: September 28, 2013, 08:08:35 AM
That "any" is rubbish if you don't take into account Mh/$.

If you mean to say that ALL miners for sale today are too expensive, so too low Mh/$ for the current and future difficulty, that's a different issue.

With "never pre-order" I agree 100% though.

I think we agree after all, because my post reflects today's situation, where there is no miner worth buying (pre-orders or too expensive miners).
I don't think something worth buying will appear in future by these asic companies.
The only maybe viable solution that I see would be to become owner of part of one, if the cost of shares is appropriate.

Don't buy mining hardware, *at all*.

What is your alternative then?

There is no alternative. Don't buy those things. Stop.

At least the guy who started a similar thread before you provided a common sense reason: ASICs hurts the planet because they use too much energy.
He was funny.
You aren't.

So what?
Did you read my first post? Did you understand it?

246  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Group buy] Avalon chips Escrow John K / Please check refund list until Sunday on: September 27, 2013, 08:06:39 PM
Hi guys,
what about who bougth the boards and asked for a refund on chips?

Could those be used for gen2 avalon chips?

Is there someone in that condition (boards and no chips)?

best regards,
ilpirata79

This is what Avalon has promised. But it is totally different subject on how they keep their promises. The good thing is that it will be much easier for the chips ti be designed to fit in the gen1 motherboards, as they have boards themselves - the reference design avalon unit. So if they produce gen2 chips and if they deliver it to the free market, the odds this chip to fit in the gen1 boards is very high.

GOOD TO HEAR. In any case: DOES SOMEONE THAT ORDERED THE CHIPS want some boards?
I have 4 of them ordered at technobit that I would like to GIVE AWAY (they will be delivered directly to you by marto) AT A DISCOUNTED PRICE!!

PM me if interested.

Don't buy mining hardware, *at all*. You will never make any profit with it (but lose your money).

By ordering (i.e. PRE-ordering) something, you are just giving your money to the society that produces the hardware (and that will use it to earn money for itself). It will ship only when the miners are not really profitable anymore.

Buy only if you know when you will get what you are paying for! (which means don't buy at all now).

249  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Refunding[Live-Group Buy].5BTC = 2.8Gh/s KNCminer Jupiter *11 Sold on: September 26, 2013, 01:01:12 PM
Yep.. good question. There are still about 160 BTC left on https://blockchain.info/address/17CmSWy7zMQq1zoRC2BXf4YgX6LVBjkkUK
What's going to happen with the money that will be left?
And will all the people who don't take the refund just be stuffed in the 5 remaining miners?

Yes there are people who are still in this group buy with us. First 5 machines were bought with USD (Paypal)

I have shares on two miners and asked for a refund only for the miner not bought on time.

I may decide to continue this investment... what could you say to us about that?

Best regards,
ilpirata79

Those are the PayPal payments, which is clearly visible in the screenshots.

It's possible that the other miners were payed before too. But only if OP payed the whole ~300 btc out of his own pocket, which is not likely.

What do you mean? There seems to be other transactions made through bitcoins relative to a few miners (dated the 20th of august).

In  any case, if the screenshots he posted are not fake, it has paid in time the first 5 miners:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233624.msg2503052#msg2503052.

That said, it could not be a bad idea to keep the orders for the first miners and put them in operation (I don't know by who,  though).

As the groupbuy failed, at least for some of us, I would like to have half of the fee reimbursed.

Thanks and best regards,

OP didn't sell the bitcoins waaaay after receiving them, he payed the miners via bitpay waaaay after he should have.

So, he has falsified the screenshots about the payments... "my compliments":
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=233624.msg2475096#msg2475096

That considered, I think he should fully refund us, as a form of compensation for not having ordered the miners when he should have.

I can't for the life of me understand why no one is taking the fantastic opportunity to get an early-order KnC Miner on the cheap here.
If I didn't have most of my coins stuck in btct and a little more time on my hands, I would do it myself! Jesus, you could just buy the place in queue here for 39 btc and then auction it off on this same forum for a big fat profit. These miners are still very much worth their money, just getting it refunded and giving up the place in queue is insane.

OgNasty offered to buy the miners and refund everybody already a week ago. Here's what he said to me in PM (hope it's ok that I disclose it):

Quote from: OgNasty
I have told them repeatedly that I wanted one or all of these units.  They said they are going to go the refund route, so there isn't much I can do.  I would love nothing more than to buy all of these units.  Getting refunds at this stage is ridiculous.

I guess he just doesn't know about the recent developments here.
But, oh well, if nobody wants to go through the trouble of organizing this, then just refund me. I'm on the official list now too. Such a waste  Undecided

Did you notice that KNCminer has already refunded ragazinz?

I have received the private message regarding the refund.

According to the current BTC price and the BTC price in the *declared* day of payment, I would lose about 25% of my original investement.

As you never provided us with a proof of the payments, as far as I am concerned, you migth have paid the machine a week ago. That means you should be able to refund me fully, i.e. 6 BTC for 12 shares.

If you provide a proof. of the payment date (which I highly doubt), instead, I could even change my mind and wait for the miners to be delivered.

Best regards,

At this point, my only concern is if KNC will deliver the miner on time. If so, I can buy 74 shares. I bought 4 shares in the 8th Saturn.

How about this, everyone request refund from KNC, and once the number reaches 74 shares, I send my money directly to KNCMiner and KNCMiner deliver the miner to me at the original dates.

To reimburse to lose of investment in buy KNCminer using BTC, I can cover each share with 0.02BTC, which means, for the first 74 shares in this groupbuy and agree to pass the shares to me, you get your refund from KNCMiner plus 0.02BTC for each share from me once the KNCMiner is delivered to me. If KNCMiner fails to deliver the miner to me, I am not responsible to honor the 0.02BTC for each share.

I will input all the information here:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Aid_TNJuQOqgdHE1RFlLLXY5UXZaY3JfOG90bVk4U1E&usp=sharing

I also need ragingazn628 and KNCMiner's permission to do this.

If you are willing to participate, please quote and reply this post so that everybody can see it.

Ragin, since chenchunyu88 wants to buy one of the miners and I'd like to sell him my shares, should I fill out the refund form or not?

Also, I'd urge everyone to consider that first.
He is probably going to refund you in full (not 90%) and then at least something good comes out of this.
Full refund for us and a miner for chenchunyu88. Win, win.

For him to take over a Saturn, he needs to get 78 shares.
He can have my 10, so that's 10/78.

He can also have my twelve shares (for 6 bitcoins), so now it has 22/78.

Best regards,
ilpirata79

I am available for selling my shares only if they are paid in at maximum a few days (say 2 or 3). Regarding the price, I just want what I paid and not the additional 0.02BTC (so 0.5 btc per share). Off course, once my shares are sold, I cannot guarantee that the miners are delivered in time or *at all*.

Best regards,
ilpirata79

Please let me know ASAP if the shares have been sold to him or not. But as of now 22/78 shares pending going to him for a full machine Smiley - I think it's a smart move for him

As soon as I receive the payment of 6 BTC, my shares go to chenchunyu88. The payment address is the same I used to initially pay for the shares (to be communicated to chenchunyu88 in the way we decide).

I appear in the list with 5 bitcoins to have but they are actually 6.
In any case, no refund so far.
