41  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BTQ] BitQuark | Super secure hashing | CPU mining on: September 17, 2014, 07:54:46 PM
I have a theory about the price / dumping. The QEX operator is dumping all the coins they took when they closed. Either that or whoever pumped it last is dumping at satoshi worth of price to make people want to sell lower before round two of pumping.

So lets let someone take 17.5 m comm then just disappear. Sounds like a plan. Sign me up.

Do you think we have enough support to get listed at https://chainz.cryptoid.info/

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=571254.0

If FairQuark can get listed on there, then I don't see why BitQuark can't Smiley
That would be amazing!

Oh now i get what you mean Mr.B!. That sounds like something we could and should do!

The only cryptocoin related things my virus protection ever flagged were mining software variants. Never a wallet though.

4.  Virus/Malware Triggers - One thing I learned when I brought My USB BitQuark Wallet to work to show a co-worker is that the bitquark-qt.exe file triggers a TrendMicro warning on my work PC and TrendMicro deleted the bitquark-qt.exe which made me feel a little stupid.  My wallet.dat file was fine, but I forgot that all wallet software (bitcoin-qt, litecoin-qt, etc.) triggers a virus/malware warning unless I manually add an exception.  Again, for grandma/grandpa or for anyone taking their USB wallet to another PC, this could be an issue.

I just uploaded windows bitquark-qt.exe (v0.8.3.17-BTQ) to virustotal and trendmirco didnt have a negative result for it. You should check if you got your wallet from a reputable source. The only antivirus software that did find it possibly negative was nod32, but nod32 thinks everything is a virus.

Again, I love it and I'm using it, but long term and for the non-techie masses, I don't think this can be a feasible solution.  We need a mobile wallet and a cloud/server based wallet provider for BitQuark, both of which I don't trust or use, but for grandma/grandpa and the non-techie masses that's something we're going to need for BitQuark to become as popular as bitcoin.

I hope I'm not sounding negative with this post, I just don't want someone new to bitquark to try this and run into any issues.  Maybe we should write up a professional sell sheet/guide/pdf for the process with disclaimers and warnings and kind of "bitquark copyright it" before another coin does so people can use it but know the drawbacks of it?
We could use a mobile / light wallet. I dont really understand the underlined part of your post though.

Is bitquark mined on a multipool that dumps to buy other coins?

Whoa, what the hell happened yesterday? Were all those buy orders on ccex from one person and canceled them all or something?

I dont know why the API Status is down, but it might be good to contact them and help them get it reconnected. Otherwise people will see that and think the coin might be dead.

This is why you don't invest in newer coins. Most of them are scams and you will get burned.
Why don't you listen to other people before making stupid decisions  Huh
Yes, the victim is definitely who is at fault here..

I get what youre saying though, but not everyone has been so involved with altcoins since every one of them turned into a scam. I mean theres new bitcoiners everyday that might fall into the trap of an altcoin that promises the world.

ahumanbeingx explained everything that happened though. I think his word is trustworthy.
Well it is.
Why are all these random people acting like they are investors? There is a difference between investing into a company like Facebook, Google and investing into something made by a man who is unknown and could be a shady character.

Why bother with bitcoin then am i right?

I just noticed this thread. Gonna quote some things. I was that PM he was talking about.

I've addressed several concerns about Digital Commerce Coin (dCM) via private message and I've intentionally tried to keep it off of our Einsteinium thread. I've made a few posts in the past regarding what happened but there are still people who still need answers. I hope this helps.

What is (was) Digital Commerce (dCM) coin?
Digital Commerce Coin was a cryptocurrency initially developed by KryptoKreative, Wallenstein, and SeriousCoins. After it's initial inception, bobsurplus and aszu were brought in by KreativeKytpo and as such I was contacted to offer release support, wallet design, graphics, and marketing plans. The initial goal of the coin was to be focused exclusively in API creation and e-commerce adoption. dCM was released on Bittrex as a 130btc IPO (divided between 6 devs) before releasing on the market for open trading.

What was my role in dCM coin?
As stated above, my role was to do graphics, marketing, wallet design, logo, etc. I created the wallet graphics and setup / operated social media accounts. It was also my role to offer my percentage of IPO funds back into the coin. Within the first 1.5 weeks I had already spent 5 btc on renting hash, supporting the price, hiring a developer for PoS fixes, paying for the merchant center backend, and server fees. I was not a lead dev by any means, but whoever controlled the ANN thread placed my name up as "lead dev" which is very misleading.

What happened to dCM?
Within a few days of our release, there was another coin (Harmony) that literally copied our ANN and tried to copy our success. This upset a few members of our team to the point of publicly addressing the issue in the Harmony forum. I think this is where the rift started within the team. There was a lot of big problems between KreativeKrypo and Bobsurplus that seemed to stem beyond what was happening with Harmony. Bobsurplus left the team and a lot of problems happened in public which drove our price below IPO level and breaking my buy support. At this point, it seemed the team stopped communicating as a group. Messages would go ignored or unanswered and the core team would be offline for days on end. I was locked out of the ANN thread and my name was moved up as a lead dev. I am still waiting and trying to figure out what happened to our plans. All of IPO money I've received is still being kept intact, unspent, and waiting for news on what's going to happen with it. A lot of people are calling the coin a scam, but I assure you that was not the intention at all. The coin fell like a house of cards due to FUD and it scared away the lead devs.

What is the future of dCM?
Honestly, similar FUD campaigns were used on Einsteinium which caused the price to drop heavily. I stuck through to make sure the coin didn't die and now I am spending extra time to rebuild EMC2 into something valuable for investors. Once Einsteinium is a success, I may take full control over dCM if the original devs don't come back. I'm not a quitter and I stand by everything I do. Please let me know if you have any more questions about dCM via private message.

Also here is the windows wallet file.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/bdus007am89p6o8/dCom-qt-1.02.exe

Some people have been having trouble syncing. I wouldnt doubt that the blockchain is forked. If anyone wants, i can dropbox my appdata folder sans wallet.

As of writing this, here are some console commands and values im getting.

53  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Potential Markets de-listed from Bittrex on: August 27, 2014, 08:14:04 PM
I fired it up again today and it managed a connection and staked a few coins.I am still trying to contact the devs but am getting no response. There is an interest in a takeover by some good people I have been doing some back and forth with but they will need full access to everything nescessary to maintain and develop the coin further with new features etc. Also the problem with dispersal of the coins and seperating dev coins from investors etc so some form of proof of fair ownership or something was mentioned.Nobody wants to be working to build something and end up rewarding those who have caused issues in the first place. Also some great ideas being thrown about regarding vendor adoption opportunities but those things take time to get right.

Anyway nothing can be done without cooperation from current developers.Wonder who is doing all the voting on poloniex because dCOM is way ahead of all other coins.

this belongs in the dCOM thread.

Move it along over there

dCOM thread is locked so we will converse here for now due to it being an issue related to a delisted bittrex market etc but thanks for your concern. Are you a moderator?
Especially because the IPO happened on Bittrex.

So what does Bittrex plan to do about Digital Commerce?

So who wants to make me a whale and continue to dump? hehe

Unfortunately i joined right when this coin went south so i was never able to mine any. I doubt ill even be able to sync up now. I dont think the block explorers work so for all we know there could be multiple forks in the chain.

You have way too much trust in other people. Im only telling you this because if you try to make a deal like that you will most likely get burned.

Its safer to run remotely, unless you were planning on getting a static ip in addition to your normal home ip. Ive had the idea of running a pool for a while now but im just too lazy to learn. Anyone have any guides?
