I think this p2pool is down.

No P2P pools?

(forgive my ignorance if Scrypt-A-N and p2p pools are technically not possible)

They are possible, but if it will be anything like VertCoin... p2pools wont be worth your time. People with over 1Mh/sec will dominate p2pool servers and the little guys wont even get a share to go towards a fraction of a payout.

But that could take time. So i have high hopes that if a legitimate p2pool is set up, it could be fair in the beginning.

Man i was getting pretty discouraged because i tried solo mining knowing that i would get nowhere just to see the real difficulty, then p2pool.. This coin kinda kills that option though haha. I thought it was just me at first, good thing i came here to see that other people cant even get a share on p2pool. Oh well.

This N scrypt thing is interesting.

Ive been mining Bitquark for about a month using this miner. At first i had no HW errors at all, for probably about two weeks. Now after a hand full of hours of mining i will start getting lots of HW errors and have to restart the program. Ive been using the same command to mind and i dont believe i am overdoing it. I pretty much use the recommended command. Could this be anything i am doing wrong or is my GPU just starting to bite the dust?

sgminer -k quarkcoin -o p2pool.altcryptomining.com:8112 -u address -p anything -I 16 -g 4 -w 64

Im still hashing away.
127  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: CoiningSolutions.com Neptune Poll on: March 14, 2014, 10:56:25 AM
If there was an effective way of voting by amount of shares, that might be helpful in determining if one or more units could be refunded if that is indeed a possibility.

I would like to repeat my stance as refund. The way things are looking is that we wont get them Q1 and the shares i bought were for a Q1 shipped miner.

@ Native English people

Guys, I'm working on Digital Goods Store and need few words/phrases/terms for the following:

- To place goods for sale
- Opposite to above (when u cancel selling this goods)
- A comment that is left by a customer when they r (not) satisfied with the quality of purchased goods
- A tag that is used to describe goods to make it easier to find them (like "game", "online", "mmorpg" for online game codes)
- A process of send goods to buyers (actually it's publishing encrypted text on the blockchain)

Just some off-the-cuff suggestions from a non-tech guy:

- To place goods for sale: List
- Opposite to above (when u cancel selling this goods): Withdraw
- A comment that is left by a customer when they r (not) satisfied with the quality of purchased goods: Rating
- A tag that is used to describe goods to make it easier to find them (like "game", "online", "mmorpg" for online game codes): Tag [?]
- A process of send goods to buyers (actually it's publishing encrypted text on the blockchain): Delivery

I was kind of struggling, but you said it man. Those are really good explanations. Although im a little worried about "publishing encrypted text on the blockchain" for delivery means.

The download link on http://www.bitquark.info is for BitQuark-0.8.3-r11.rar at 9mb.
The download link BitQuark provided a few posts before this is for BitQuark-0.8.3.7-r10-Windows.zip at 11.5mb.

The site needs the link updated.

I have two shares in Neptune #3. If KnC / waldohoover will allow one miner to be refunded, thats 2/60 shares needed.

I should probably mention that im coming from "version":"0.7.6" and i first noticed that the getstate port changed from 7874 to 7876, but that wouldnt affect unlocking i think. Not that any of that matters anyway because running the server only depends on what is inside the directory of where you run it from.

So i extracted 0.8.6 to a brand new directory and the only files that came with the release are in that directory. I ran "run.bat" and it synced up, i know this by checking getstate. When i attempt to unlock my account (by going to https://127.0.0.1:7875/) i put in my Secret phrase, click the "Unlock Account" button, and then the button grays out and the screen just sits there. When i getstate it shows: "numberOfUnlockedAccounts":0.

I just installed "version":"0.8.6" for windows and i cant unlock my account now. Im synced up to "numberOfBlocks":81669.
133  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN] CoiningSolutions.com Neptune Shares ฿.33=50GH/s |*MINERS PAID on: March 01, 2014, 02:52:50 AM
I would like to explore the refund option while the price of bitcoin is still so low. That way we can get as close to 95% of our refunds back as possible.

Thank you for the update waldy!

I would too, but like I said I want to give it a couple of weeks first.
March 1st will be coming in just a few hours. I stand by my opinion, id like to try and get the neptunes refunded. Luckily bitcoin is still "cheap" so the shareholders will probably get a full 95% refund. I believe waldohoover would also get a nice bit of money back as well.

I tried using my usual scrypt settings while mining quark and i was getting trash for hashrate and a lot of hardware errors.
Then i tried these settings and everything is running great.

Im mining BTQ (quark) on a p2pool with an ATI Radeon HD 5850 and getting an average between 850 - 900 Kh/s. It runs a lot cooler than it would be mining a scrypt coin. I may need to tweak a little to get my rejects down though.

Im running sgminer 4.1.0. Great miner!

GPU or GPU. Pretty much just means no ASICs.

Alright so i need a little help understanding something. I have two servers running on two separate computers. Both servers have the same account unlocked. I know the answer is going to be no, but i just want to understand how and why.. Does this double my chances of forging a block?

it doesnt, and in fact I believe CfB has stated in the past that this is a very bad practice, for reasons I cant understand though.  does anyone know why this is bad?  And if its so bad, what do we need to work on to mitigate the threat?
Yeah id love to see the reasoning. Im hoping we can get some insight. Thank you for the reply, ill stick to just one server then.

It doesn't double the chance to forge a block, but when you do forge a block, you will do it twice and thus, you are creating a fork.

This seems to be a serious attack possibility.  what happens if a whale or pool operator goes rogue and starts forging from 100 different public VPSs?
Yes, this seems to be a huge flaw with NXT..
