Can bitcoin drop to $3000?
A correction will come - support level may be 5k$, if that level breaks we might see 3k$ again, odds may be low for that to happen, but ill give it a solid 5-10% to happen withhin the upcoming months

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bitcoin or Altcoins? Which is safer or more profitable?
|
on: November 17, 2017, 07:14:24 AM

Mostly there are just single pumps in alts while btc is on the rise, and the rest actually declines due to the fact that people take their assets over into btc - when btc has a steady range for a few days or more, altcoin market starts to be more volatile and active again due to the fact that people will return to their former altcoin assets. Thats the simple version - so if you are looking to invest long term (speaking of years) some altcoins surely make sense, but if youre looking to profit in the short run, either stay in btc or switch to alts while btc is declining.

This tremendously fast recovery will be followed by a correction no doubt.. Question being if the correction kicks in when btc is in the 8k$ range or when it grew even further over the next weeks

BTCs value isnt bound to its usability, but much rather to it being the first and most well-known crypto-currency there is..
Id guess that out of 100 people who have heard of bitcoin, maybe 5 heard of ethereum and 1-2 heard of other altcoins.
That said, Bitcoin simply is the value this market depends on especially due to the reason that a lot of (crypto-wise uneducated) people who enter the crypto-market will purely rely on btc as they dont know anything about other coins.
Thats at least what I experienced so far.

Economy / Speculation / Re: When Bitcoin will reach the highest value before 2x day?
|
on: November 04, 2017, 05:09:53 PM

I don't think that there is any chance to see the future and to tell if when is the price of bitcoin will reach the highest value because that is impossible and it is either you are selling or you will just keep holding and have faith in bitcoin and believe to its abilities.
Easy to hit 400+ rep/posts with such incredibly generic awnsers I guess.. obv nobody can see the future, else we wouldnt speculate in markets anymore, would we? As for OPs question, I am pretty certain BTC will hit another peak withhin 72h before the 2x happens, and will drop after, but thats whats to be expected. The mroe interesting question is, how long will it take BTC to recover and how will the 2x coin develop

My prediction - btc will rise up to ~8k$ withhin the next days, then have a relatively big drop after the b2x to maybe 6-6.5k and then recover slowly and finish the year around 7.5k+-

Seeing how Cryptos like ethereum raised, but stayed way below BTCs marketcap shows that BTC is simply the one value that matters in the crypto-world right now. Every other currency depends on its ups and downs more or less.
I dont see BTC being replaced anytime soon. Unless theres a big big bubble busting, btc will stay the one value that matters for a while

All these threads only end up as a list of ICOs the posters have invested in.. same with every existing altcoin discussion "x100?" - everybody has an individual view on the ICO market and barely anyone in these threads ever covers all october ICOs indepth at all

I believe that this is the start of the second leg down before bottoming out somewhere between $2000-$3000 The markets always seem to go in cycles, you can look back through bitcoins history and see this. Look at this bitcoin daily candle chart: and this is where I think we are in the market cycle: This is why I've put some of my BTC into USDT. The is a crazy game though and you can never be sure, I will be watching the charts closely. Got to admit I refused to think that this classic cycle applies to crypto as of late, but it seems very reasonable right now

as much as i hate this kind of advertising, simply because its mostly bullshit.. But on the other hand, a lot of mainstream money goes into crypto circulation with people like floyd advertising for crypto.. thats probably quite a good thing, especially with an ICO that aims to have a CC you can pay in crypto with.. avg joe realizes the uses of crypto -> never goes back
win - win

I can relate very well to the "cut your losses" or "keep your losses small" philosophy from back when I played poker professionally. It is better to win a big pot and lose a few blinds or small pots than to win a lot of small pots and lose a few big ones. Apparently thats how you accumulate wealth, but still, many new traders simply hold on to their coins, I see it on these forums on a daily basis.. "I bought NEO at 30$, when will it recover?" Fact is either youre in for the long run, or you got to cut off certain positions BEFORE they die. But whatever people or I say in here, everyone got to make his or her own experience in this rather crazy market

Really nice to have such a portfolio thread, I think we should have some sort of Portfolio subforum where people can keep track of their progress, be it trading or holding a portfolio.
Nice updates, lots of interesting analytical information, keep it up!!
