Good thing there's a year in that datestamp. So how did poker hold onto all his old coins from the old blockchain?

Long time... see some activity in this coin now... Hey poker26 and matory -- looking here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=766417.0;all says it has a new genesis block. So this isnt the same ELC that was originally launched that I curated the code for long ago, completely new blockchain since the rerelease?

There was another reply here claiming they mined only rejects - but it was deleted later - so what's the deal?

This thing still alive? Will be old wallet even sync to the old? Having trouble compiling it from github under debian jessie. Rather not trust binaries....
|
|
|
Will cryptsy move to the new blockchain too then? What other sites do we need to update?
|
|

what we actually need is a working blockexplorer!
weboise is down? hmm, I havent talked to that guy in a while. well, if its otherwise worth 0, then we can release it i suppose. I mean, its only one more feather in the hat of credibility to have me agree to give up the elacoin github account to you guys for your fork, you didnt NEED it to fork, but i suppose it helps. is this what we want to do poker? You hold alot more coin than me.

Hi Math, hi everybody!
Math, as I'm not a programmer (though holding some ELC's and current elacoin.cc website) I can not estimate the code. I agree that live product is better than broken and abandoned one. So if you think that code is safe, I will support the takeover.
Poker the problem is no one has looked at the code. So the only way forward here is if we think the coin is worth 0 then there's no risk. I havent done the work of evaluating the highest stakeholder's current worth (maybe its only $100?), so I dont know how much there is to loose. I dont see alot of traffic in here, so maybe it doesnt matter in the end.......

true, but id like to see one other person with a provable high stake in elacoin give a go ahead - by doing a transaction of 0.012345 elc to somewhere. I shouldnt act by fiat alone.

scare up the stakeholders and we'll make a move. not sure the best way to prove they're stakeholders though, from some kinda proof of stake (lol) in the blockchain - produce a signable message on a 0.01 elc xmission or something for their adddresses, say, would be good ya?
let me know what you can get together. I dont want to free the whole blockchain and code to just anyone.
Cryptocurrency is decentralized and no single person "owns" the coin... The old code needed to be fixed and it is now fixed... Were you satisfied with a broken product? No one wants to be a part of a hostile take over, and I can assure you that is not anyone's intention here... But, what do you stand to gain from holding everything back? What do we stand to lose by accepting unvetted code from someone who wasnt around at the start and doesnt hold much coin?

ELC members!
Please create in Cryptsy support tickets asking to update ELC wallet!
Thanks!
vern might not make a move til i give a nod, at least i hope so, not because it's me but because I have a link to the old active community. i havent seen any of the stakeholders from early days (representing still a majority of the ELC being held) that have vetted and assented to this fork. you need some consensus in here and elsewhere before you will be successful. do what you want, but you really need some community agreement. i just dont see it.

Seems like a bit of a failed launch of this new fork and wallet, given that it hard-forked over to parameters incompatible with the official Elacoin wallet at least 12 earlier than advertised, and before anyone did a thorough examination of the source code of this new wallet.
Same old same old, eh WindMaster? Good to see you again. Im largely out of AltCoin crap because of this kinda stupidity :/

Does anyone have a link to the source for the new wallet? I see the binaries, but I need source to build a new client for my pool.
Here! https://github.com/Crypto2/elacoinWhen you build pool please PM me - add to OP! whelp, i control the original source, but i bless this fork as soon as someone trusted reviews the code to see what's hidden inside... for your own benefit people, you should. i guess yer forking the blockchain then if there's a new retarg calculation.. what block#?

if someone has audited it to ensure its not scamware, great - does it merge mods popular from other coins' trees? i dont even know who's active in the community anymore here im kinda around - i see a git merge request but im confused why so many files in the src tree have changed including a ton of stuff in the qt gui...
anyone review this?
The main things that are changed are the Scrypt functions to support Scrypt Adaptive-N, added KGW, new alert key and related functions, and increased the version number and reject old clients starting on the hardfork date. The Qt changes are so it supports Qt version 5 and not just the older Qt 4.

im kinda around - i see a git merge request but im confused why so many files in the src tree have changed including a ton of stuff in the qt gui... anyone review this? Hi all! We are the RevivalCoinGroup, our team now propose to take Elacoin to our management. Elacoin is interest coin with original specs, are interesting to investors and traders more then 1 year, but now ELC have too much problems. We detect next coin issues - dev abandoned project and don't visit to this thread, flow difficulty, in result miners lost coin, for example last block was find two days ago - 26 July, low trade volume. We offer following changes: - change algo from Scrypt to Scrypt-N with KGW - rewrite wallet with old specs and new algo - create new userfriendly explorer - create new pool with 1% donate - connect with owners elacoin.cc and propose to add change in this site or registered new site - vote to add ELC to another exchanges - promotion in twitter and facebook - other. If community is agree with this please write in thread or mailto revivalcoin@gmail.com

Hey mat5x, not much use feeding the troll at this point. Go read mattboldfield's post history, not only does he troll every thread he's ever been involved in, that dumbass just dumped his Bitcoin private key and typed his wallet password while someone was watching via Teamviewer and he's trying to figure out how his BTC got stolen. Funniest shit I've seen in a long time! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=519264.0Hey mattboldfield, I suggested this a few posts back, I really think you should contemplate finding a different hobby than cryptocurrencies. It really doesn't seem like you're cut out for this, you're kinda out of your league. Feel bad for the dude. Ho well. WindMaster - any comments on my protocol changes above?
