161  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency for charity on: October 06, 2018, 01:53:37 PM
That would be very wonderful. But it seems to me that fraudsters will make money on this as well.
162  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Good update but at a wrong timing on: October 06, 2018, 01:51:55 PM
Recently we have notice that there was a slight update on bitcointalk forum regarding our ranks from Jr. Member back to newbie rank if you don't even have a single merit. Sad to say, I have only activity point, so mine got reverted. And on that time, I still joined in a signature campaign, a good one, and I have a good track of stake that has no blank on the spreadsheet, and sad to say, when the update has done after a day, all of my stakes got void due to the fact that I am newbie again.
The bounty manager give me time just to recover my rank. He give me days. On that, I tried making good posts count just to make sure that I can get merit point. I really don't care how much merit point I can gather, even a single merit would do just to retain the rank. But unfortunately I didn't earned even a single merit.

Well, from now, I keep making good post, hoping that there would be a good heart that would give me a single merit just to continue and reclaim my bounty stake.

How about you folks, did you also have the wrong timing?

P.S I don't feel embarrassed by the forum because of what they have done. In fact, I love it because they can stop the other accounts that has a multiple account farming, and to retain a good post thread. Bitcointalk forum only makes update not just for their own good, but the good of others also.
I, of course, feel sorry for you. You have lost your earned bets. I think that in this case the campaign manager was wrong.
163  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Set a goal for yourself on: October 06, 2018, 01:47:03 PM
Crypto is a very good business that can highly profit whoever participate in it with sets goals and determination. It is when you set goals for yourself that you will be able to know when to hold and when to sell. Don't just do crypto with no target of making wholesome profit. I have realized that it those who set goals that will keep moving  even when the road is rough. Set goals that will discipline you in your crypto activities and ginger you toward success in it.
I think that it is not enough just to set a goal, but you still need to make great efforts to achieve the goal.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Future payment methods of bitcoin and crypto on: October 06, 2018, 10:21:42 AM
I hope to discuss about the future payment methods of BTC and Crypto. Start accepting  bitcoin and crypto currency  payment today,Accept payment security without payment claim and avoid risk ,Send the bitcoin and crypto currency to your employees and customers.
That would be noticeable. But then the government will impose numerous taxes. You may have to pay taxes even for participation in bounty campaigns.
165  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really driven by individuals? on: October 06, 2018, 10:11:55 AM
Bitcoin is seen as a currency that is not regulated by any institute. It does not generate any revenue and therefore, has a zero minimal value. What then brings about its value and drives it as well?

A group of researchers from the American Institute of Technology Stevens found that the price of Bitcoin can increase tenfold thanks to the comments and posts of users of social networks. This assessment of experts published in the journal The Journal of Management Information Systems.

Scientists came to this conclusion, having studied the comments of users of the Bitcointalk forum for two years and posts on Twitter for the same period with mention of Bitcoin - there were 3.4 million.

Analysts divided the comments into positive and negative, and their authors into two categories: active users and the “silent majority”, people who rarely mentioned Bitcoin.

As a result, the scientists came to a rather unexpected conclusion: it turned out that the comments and posts of active users had practically no effect on the dynamics of the Bitcoin price, whereas due to the meager statements of the “silent majority” the price sometimes increased tenfold.

The head of the research explains this paradox by the fact that active users of social networks may have certain intentions, in particular, to create a “HYIP” for pumping a Bitcoin course or other cryptocurrencies in which they invested. Therefore, the words of those who write about Bitcoin rarely and, most likely, sincerely express thoughts, have much more weight and more influence on the course than obsessive statements in support of or against a particular coin.
166  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto faster & cheaper? on: October 06, 2018, 09:47:29 AM
Bitcoin fees are higher than any other coin. This is due to a lack of scalability and thus high mining fees, which also effects transaction speeds. Ethereum and LiteCoin have much lower fees and send much faster. XRP is cheaper and faster than that. IOTA is free but their wallet is not quite up to par yet. This market is still very young and growing. Eventually these issues will be worked out. But the great thing about competition is that you can choose which method you want to use. And if you’d rather stay in the fiat world you’re free to do that as well.
I understand that in Bitcoin transactions are more expensive. But Bitcoin is more reliable than any other cryptocurrency. Isn't that important to you?
167  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop comparing ETH with BTC!!!!!!!! on: October 03, 2018, 09:09:55 AM
Since I joined the cryptocurrency world and even this forum I have seen something that people always do that I think its not the right way. People always compaire ETH with BTC telling us that ETH is the best cryptocurrency. I really doubt that because looking at these two coins, although they are all blockchain based currencies but to me BTC is doing far better than ETH. BTC was created before ETH but look at the performances and judge it yourself. I really do not want to talk much about this issue. Guys what do think about what I am arguing about?
I believe that both of these cryptocurrencies are important now and cannot be dispensed with.

Both Bitcoin and Ethereum have armies of fans and opponents. If you want to invest in the world's most popular cryptocurrency, you should choose Bitcoin, as an asset, it continues to remain attractive. However, it is important to remember that fluctuations in the rate of this crypt can both return investments a hundredfold and “eat” them.

Ethereum is more attractive from the point of view of regular transactions due to small commissions. Decentralized Ethereum-based applications can provide invaluable assistance to companies in contracting issues, minimizing the risk of double interpretations. But, as in the case of Bitcoin, investing in this currency should be preceded by a careful study of the market situation and the opinions of leading cryptomir analysts.

Ample opportunities for the use of Ethereum open, first of all, smart contracts. They are computer algorithms that help to conclude contracts and mathematically control their exact execution without an intermediary, which solves the “problem of trust” and reduces the cost of operations.
168  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin and global warming on: October 03, 2018, 08:58:02 AM
I think our main problem is the huge electricity expense induced by mining and its noxious effect on the climate. This is, to my mind, the only serious argument against Bitcoin.
Alleviating the electricity expense should be one of our priorities. If we do not do it for the sake of the Earth (which we really should) we should at least do it selfishly because governments will not tolerate this forever and they will be right. The more the exchange rate increases, the worse it gets, of course.
Some solutions exist though: first there is proof-of-stake, of course. This technology may be too young to be deemed reliable enough but we should at least start considering it.
If we do not like proof-of-stake I think we could drammatically decrease the electricity expense by stopping monetary creation now. Nowdays Bitcoin is famous enough to remain secure even if miners earned transaction fees only. And if as a whole there are 16.5 M coins instead of 21 M, this does not make much of a difference. That is even good for holders. To make miners agree with that solution, they must be compensated for their lost income.  More precisely, active miners must be compensated because they have already bought ASICs. Futures miners do not need to be compensated. Since mining is a competitive industry, future miners will make no profit on average, whatever the reward scheme. To compensate active miners we could decide that the next 2016 blocks yield, say, 100 new coins and then 0 forever. Everybody would win and the Earth above all!
There are probably many other solutions and I wish the community cared a little more about this fundamental issue.
I agree with you.
But Bitcoin miners can use "green" energy. For example, wind turbines or solar panels.
It will be more profitable and will not so strongly affect the environment.
What do you think about this?

171  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin new year predictions... I want to invest... on: September 28, 2018, 05:37:37 PM
I've some money to invest and I need ideas... what do you think about future? Which altcoin will be the next year surprise and why?... I know this is like trying to predict future but could you try to give me a guess  Wink
I advise you to invest in proven cryptocurrencies: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Ripple, Monero. Especially if you want to invest for a long time.
Good luck to you.
172  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can any analysis predict btc price for the next month? on: September 28, 2018, 05:35:08 PM
The current situation has caused me to hold huge sum of money that I intended putting into btc and altcoins. I know once btc jump, altcoins does same.
So the question is can anyone predict the price of btc for the next month? To enable me invest...
If it were possible to predict the price so easily, then many would earn money on it. But it is quite difficult, sometimes even impossible.

174  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it good strategy to buy tokens at low price directly after ICO? on: September 28, 2018, 05:32:29 PM
Hello
You know that most of ICOs lose their token price directly after token distribution. Sometimes it happens through bounty hunters, sometimes for other reasons... So the question is as follows: Is it good strategy to buy tokens at low price directly after ICO?
This is a pretty good idea. Many members of the bounty campaigns sell their tokens cheaply.
175  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN accepted for Airline fare and School fee on: September 28, 2018, 01:31:29 PM
I'm a Filipina and there's a lot of posts posted on social media that our local airline,  Philippine Airlines and STI school now accepts Bitcoin. This news will create a stir and this will help spread information that Bitcoin is not scam at all. I know in the future there will be more businesses and companies will accept Bitcoin too.

What's your view on this? Does your country accept Bitcoin too?
This is great news and I'm happy for your country. In my country, unfortunately, there is no such thing.

Just read this article, a nice piece about Bitcoin scams with an example - http://cryptofinance24.com/how-not-to-scam-people-p428-171.htm
The example story about one scam there is just hilarious. The scam is so bad, but people still fall for it  Huh Huh Huh

So, have you ever got scammed, or know some good stories to share with others to help them learn from others mistakes?
They tried to deceive me, but the scammers did not succeed. Whatever you are not deceived, it is enough not to be stupid. Cheesy
177  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's make more companies to accept bitcoin payment. on: September 28, 2018, 12:34:03 PM
Let's make more companies to accept bitcoin payment.

I have send email to some companies in the UK to ask them to add Bitpay as a payment option.

Let's start an Operation Bitcoin. All of us send emails to companies to ask them to accept bitcoin.  Smiley

This is a very good idea. To begin with, you should ask the online stores to enter this payment method. And after that just ask the rest of the companies about it.
