224  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Antminer S1/S3 and other old miners [US] on: August 31, 2015, 04:26:39 AM
I have 10 S1's I could part with.  Also have some Avalon 3 stuff.  Have some Blackarrow Bitfury kits too.  These do about 1W per GH.  Most of the BA kits are 10 boards at

32-38Gh per board.

Might actually pick one of these up.  How much is it again?

Looks like  7.972BTC

Hope not.  That's quite pricey.  Although, I paid 4.92BTC for an S1. Roll Eyes

Do you have a soldering iron?  If you do you can "weld" the fan blade back on.  I have done this many times.

Just align the broken blade back into it's original position and then trace the break with the tip of the soldering iron.  Will melt the plastic back together. Wink

Thanks everyone for offers.  Mostly looking for broken/underperforming units.

PM or post here with offers.  Not working is OK, must include water cooling components.  US sellers only.  Paying with BTC only.

Thanks!

The voltage is firmware controlled.  Just run them at power level 1 or 2.  Mine do about 0.8W per GH this way.  Power level 2 is 1024GH@800w at the wall.

They are  much cooler and quieter too.  I am running these on 240V power.

Just as a test I turned a unit up to power level 9, 1596Gh@1900W.  Ouch! Shocked

Still mine this one.  With one block erupter.  Difficulty hovers around 4-9. Cheesy

Also, who renamed the thread?

Related possibly?

233  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking BFL Monarchs and servicing them while times are weird. on: July 19, 2015, 04:58:28 AM
I have a question...

Thanks to my countries magic power issues one of my boards got damaged. At a quick glance it seems that the IC for the fan control took the most damage. I have ordered more to replace the damaged on and the secondary as a precaution. However, even with this in mind it has issues while I'm trying to mine with it.

So the question is:
Could the blown chip be the source of the errors while testing mining or is there another problem that someone could be aware of if this has happened to them before/as well. If not I guess the best would be to replace the IC then test again. could end up a long process...

Lastly, I will have spares of these IC's as you can only order batches of 10. If anyone needs them feel free to ask.

Just PM lightfoot.  I did and he sent me a TON of info about replacing mosfets.  One of my cards blew a few due to a storm induced blackout. Tongue

You should go green and get rid of your Honda generator...solar is cheap on ebay!

Don't think I haven't thought of it.

There are several reasons why I haven't, primarily a lack of direct sunlight due to a thick tree canopy, and the constant risk of theft and vandalism when I'm not here.

I can't leave anything of value that an adult would steal or a child would vandalize. I had to replace all my smashed glass windows with Lexan MR-10 years ago and I'm on my third CRT monitor. I can't believe someone actually stole one. The other was smashed with my splitting maul.

My Honda and my Stihl have luckily escaped vandalism so far (touch wood). They're secured with locks that would require cordless abrasive disc grinders to cut and having my name scribed deeply into every surface (including the engine blocks) presumably keeps adult thieves at bay.

Civilization is a thin veneer and when you get far enough away from watchful eyes it disappears completely. I've also considered various monitoring systems but haven't found a suitable one yet.Hidden battery-powered motion-detecting spy cams with large SDXC storage are my closest try so far.

It's a constant battle.

Sounds too much like my neighborhood.  We have had people steal potted plants off of our front porch! Roll Eyes

I think it stops gaining stake weight at 90 days.
236  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: What kind of miners do you have now on: June 30, 2015, 05:06:45 AM
5x 700Gh monarchs
20x 16chip bitfury boards (undervolted) and 30 spares
4x Avalon3 blades (undervolted) and 2 spares
2x Antminer S1 (undervolted) and 10 spares
2x Technobit hex4m minion boards
1x Habanaro
3x Asicminer BE200 tubes (undervolted)

Tons of BFL 65nm stuff collecting dust.
Tons of first gen Asicminer stuff collecting dust.
Some Rockminers 32Gh and 100Gh gathering dust as well.

Power is pretty cheap here and have a solar kit on the way.  As long as I keep it around 1w/gh or lower I am good. Grin

Remember when my two HD5830's+Geforce 260 made more BTC than all of this combined. Cheesy

237  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] BFL Jalapeno on: June 20, 2015, 03:33:48 AM
I have 8 of these, 2 and 3 chip.  They have been modified by removing the cover but I still have all of the parts.  Can include these.

Might even have one of the original power bricks around somewhere.
238  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Undervolted S1s on: June 01, 2015, 04:08:42 AM
I have 10 of these I could sell.  Are you in the US?

My units do 100Gh at about 100-120W.
239  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Do you have free power have I got a deal for you!! Free power + old gear on: May 28, 2015, 02:30:25 PM
I have 12 underclocked  S1's.  They do about 100Gh each and use around 100-110W.
