1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.6.6 - with algo switching support on: August 14, 2018, 01:36:16 PM
Whats a good setting for intensity and threads with rx 480?  I can get 1000h/s on castxmr but on srb i am getting around 850-865.  My vegas are looking great though >2000.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Issue 160W picoPSU with Biostar TB250-BTC on: January 05, 2018, 09:52:39 PM
any luck?  I am seeing this issue too with my pico psu not being able to power up the board.  The cpu fan spins but thats it.  Also I have a usb watchdog that starts flashing rapidly when powered on so I'm guessing some overcurrent protection is kicking in and these psu's might not be actually performing at the rated capacity.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How to turn off Server PSU when motherboard shutoff? Almost fried my GPUs on: December 28, 2017, 06:09:30 AM
I'm interested in this also.  Some models of the breakout have a 4pin header that allows you to signal when to turn on from an atx supply. I have no such header on my breakouts but would like to mod them if possible to have this "sense" capability.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Best USB WatchDog Mining Rig Resetter? on: December 28, 2017, 05:15:34 AM
I have tried both the dual relay version on ebay/alibaba and the one that doesn't have relays. Both seem to not work well for me.  The one without relays didnt work at all, it never restarted my rigs when they locked up.  The one with relays works, but seems to reset my machine every 5 minutes or so even when nothing is wrong.  I would also like to know if anyone has gotten these things working.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 11, 2017, 02:49:12 AM
can anyone tell me where in the registry can I find the PP Table modded values?
I have 5 cards modded with same settings and one which is different, but don't remember which one it was. Guess at some place the values for all 5 should be different from its, but I can't really find it ...

Any ideas how to identify it? I want to do some tweaks on it, but don't really want to mess with the other cards ...

The path is in the top of the reg file.

I've got one card that just always runs 10deg hotter, no idea why.

any tips?

Set your temperature target for that card and the fans should try to keep it around whatever temp you set.  It’s very easy with Overdriventool.

Also for those worried about fans dying, there is a max temp setting that shuts the card down in case the thermal limit of your choice is breached.

I think the overclock.net forum has a vega bios thread where folks are pushing pretty high. I am at 1200 stable on an aircooled v56 flashed to 64 with just the 1200 SOC powerplay mod.  I have another card that doesn't like it though.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 07, 2017, 09:54:40 PM

I went for an ASUS B250 Mining Expert and have a v64 and a v56 @ 64 along with a 1080 ti running stable. My main issue to date has been trying to get power draw at the wall to resemble hellae and everyone else's whilst maintaining high hash rates. I've found that the only way to curb power draw is to set core to go 1308/1100 @ 905 mV on both Vegas, 1408 core increases power draw at the wall by 100w for a ~200 h/s benefit. With the 1080 ti mining Zcoin (135w) total system power draw at the wall is 495w and the Vegas hash at 3650 h/s. That's not as good as I had hoped and I'm beginning to think the motherboard is the culprit. Power supply is rm1000x so I don't suspect that is the issue. Risers are 006c powered via 6 pin PCI-E, could they be causing higher power draw? Have followed all the guides and used hellae and my own custom power play tables - this has me stumped...

1408mhz causes thee high powerdraw. I am not sure why...

Dial it back to 1400 and you should be good !

Thanks. That strangely seems to have solved my issues for now. 3850 h/s for just over 500w with the 1080 ti now.

What voltages are you using for core and mem now? 905mV for both?

Check the switch on top of the card.Try in the other position.

You just need the timeout after the disable and after the enable.  Not before the disable.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: November 07, 2017, 03:29:13 PM
I use the following lines for enabling/disabling if this helps...  Just be sure to pause between each.

devcon.exe disable *6B761002

devcon.exe enable *6B761002
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: GPU & CPU BENCHMARKS FOR MONERO MINING! (New Domain: monerobenchmarks.info) on: October 27, 2017, 01:11:46 AM
Sorry dude but the site does suck with all the useless multiGPU stats. I totally agree with wacko. People don't want to see what the highest hashrate someone can hit in a single rig.  They want to know what performance to expect out of a given card to see if that card is meeting the "benchmark" or to see what hashrate they can get out of a card they want to purchase.  If you want to showcase the fastest rigs, put that in a separate page for top rigs or something.

Not whining here, just saying that I would use your site more if it met the needs i'm describing.  Would also be nice to sort or filter by GPU/CPU type.

Crimson 17.10.2 drivers are here.  Includes compute mode toggle in global settings.

Anyone tried to see if hbcc is working better in this driver yet?

@rednow what miner are you using for the Nvidia cards?  I was using ethminer and it kept resetting the hbcc every so often. What scheduled tasks were there to disable?  Would love to get more cards up in this rig.  Also do you use afterburner to tune the Nvidia cards?
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: October 22, 2017, 05:22:17 PM
Thanks to all for the opinions.
I've only 3 empty GPU slots at the moment. So I think Vega56 is quite good. I should to get experience in Red GPUs.

Vega doesn’t play well with other cards right now..   Pretty much any action on any gpu in the system will cause hbcc to drop.  The only way I was able to get hbcc stable was to remove Nvidia cards and run a max of 4 vega only.  I’m hoping my other 4 slots can be used for more gpus if Blockchain drivers get updated.

I made it work on 5 it seems : http://prntscr.com/grm9ed

upped the virtual ram to 80. Disabled On board graphics , connected Monitor  with HDMI to GPU0.
Without Team Viewer going the hashrate is slightly higher - around 10500.
Only 4 cards accepted some change on the slider. The 5th had HBCC on, and on/off was not doing anything. On the 6th one HBCC was disabled. It was not even possible to enable it.

Sadly ... that lasted only until the first restart.
After it - we are back to 4. And I can't get em to apply any HBCC settings on at least 3 cards.

I wasn't even able to boot with 6 Vega as it would BSOD on driver install for the 6th card. I could get 5 hashing but similar results as you. 5th card has an HBCC slider but changes had no effect.

I have the same situation.  I can't get HBCC to activate on more than 4 cards.  The sliders work for all but there's no effect for anything over 4 cards.

I see this same issue even if the other cards are not vega, as soon as I add a 5th amd card I lose hbcc control on all. I wonder if it requires more ram or virtual memory? I’m running 2x Vega 56 and 2x580 and shits the bed when adding a 470 to the mix. I have 16gb ram and 48gb virtual. Hbcc would display as on, but hash rates show it’s not really on.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Any word on amd vega hash rates? on: September 30, 2017, 09:36:21 PM
Just wanted to share some improvement I found.  I was having this issue where every 20 minutes to a few hours or so my hashrates would drop from 1800-1900 to 1500-1600.  I would go check the rig or login via teamviewer and simply restarting xmr-stak-amd would restore my hashrate.  This was driving me crazy as I hated losing that 600h/s across my two vega's.  My monitor was plugged in to the integrated graphics port on the motherboard and windows was putting the monitor to sleep after inactivity and I figured out this sleep mode was dropping the hashrate on my vega's.  Turning off the display sleep has preserved my hashrate so far.  I'm going to order a dummy plug to keep my hashrates up without having a monitor connected.

6. (optional) Apply reg patch if you want to lower power consumption. For monitor attached card you will need much higher voltage.

@rednoW thanks so much for your help!  Which reg patch are you referring to for 56 flashed with liquid bios?  I am running the MorePower56 from Hellm but it sounded like this one would make power consumption worse. Is there another reg file somewhere with lower power settings?
