Giskard, I have secured 60,000 USD from an alleged Nigerian prince. He has assured me that with the funds from his inheritance I will have more then enough to promote ZET. Please do a press release so that we can share this wonderful news with the rest of the community.
If you have any questions, let me know. Bob
Hi Bob I am delighted by the acquisition of the funds. Would you please post a photo of yourself with the funds, a loaf of bread on your head and a placard with the words "Zetacoin is cool". This will definitely help to promote ZET. Giskard

WHY AL BLOCKS ARE REJECTED?
Because you're mining on the wrong miner. Read the first post. Yeah weird coin. Says scrypt in the example for pool mining? but cgminer throws all rejects It looks like a modified version of scrypt. With the cpuminer you have to specify --algo=scrypt-new. I've been able to get 2 blocks with the cpuminer under windows, but none under linux when I do setgenerate true -1. Does setgenerate work in the daemon?

Copy of QRK? QRK is a copy of CPC. So why do you use Q for your addresses and not C? Q is for Quark

Hi Zeta users
We are working on a web site for Zeta coin. Hopefully an initial version will be up next week.
If there's anyone that would like to contribute some graphics, please feel to post here.
We are currently on block 59500. Reward halves in another 20000 blocks (around a week from now) from 1000 ZET per block to 500 ZET.
Happy hashing

I have the P2Pool code on my GitHub here: https://github.com/JudeAustinOnce you get it running please post your node IP here and I will add it to the source on my GitHub. That way we create a true P2P network. Ok, I have copied your p2p data, but I think they are not optimal. SHARE_PERIOD should be less than block period in network, to avoid lots of punished shares (my code was 20s, we can change it by NEW_SHARE_PERIOD). Also TARGET_LOOKBEHIND is parameter that is adjusting share diff according to current pool speed. 200 makes 100 minutes "look behind", it should be 20 or something (20 of 30 shares is 5 min). p2p: rav3n.dtdns.net:9174 worker: rav3n.dtdns.net:9374 git: https://github.com/Rav3nPL/p2pool-ravI snagged your code from github and started it up and am getting 2013-08-14 22:59:33.729347 Handshake timed out, disconnecting from 91.235.254.37:9174 Is port 9174 correct for p2p? The p2p port for ZET is 17333.

I've a problem with a sell Order : i'm not able to cancel it!
Type Price (BTC) ZET BTC ask 0.0000025 10000 0.025 Cancel
When a press CANCEL nothing happens. I've tried with 2 browsers but no result.
All of the ZET trading seems to have frozen.

Just pointed 62gh at the p2pool. Looks like we are hashing faster than the rest of the network now That must be you Difficulty at 832 and rising.

There is some debate as to whether deflationary currency is a bad thing. I personally am inclined to believe that it is not however i could be wrong. In light of this fact someone ought to create a currency with a never ending block reward. 1 coin per block for ever would work well methinks.
If you think through the logic the money supply wouldn't actually increase for ever because it would get to the point where the marginal value of newly minted coins would be less than the cost of taking precautions to prevent loss of more than one coin in that same time period due to carelessness. It would never be deflationary and at some point in the future it would also stop being inflationary, at some point in the future these two opposing forces would balance out and lead to a more or less self correcting system resulting in a stable money supply.
I think it ought to be merged mined with bitcoin so it cant be ddosed by pools and mirror bitcoin in every other way just in case we find at some point in the future that the deflationary model is flawed it will be in just the right place to seamlessly take over where bitcoin left off.
hope for the best but plan for the worst.
Zetacoin does this. It has a minimum block reward of 1. This is probably a better incentive for miners to keep going than only transaction costs.

Aww snap!
My address is ZLgdyET41rPdpZ8XBHRtPxhkQMFiqcQaYm
Thanks man!
Hopefully this coin does well.
Personally, I am sick of Scrypt based coins and how they rape hardware.
Plus dealing with people and Scrypt can become a hassle when it comes to setup.
20K sent

Apparently what is needed it the version bytes to be set properly.
Where the hell I get these from the Zetacoin client is a mystery to me.
The message start characters are different in Zetacoin than in Bitcoin: See here: https://github.com/zetacoin/zetacoin/blob/master/src/chainparams.cpp pchMessageStart[0] = 0xfa; pchMessageStart[1] = 0xb5; pchMessageStart[2] = 0x03; pchMessageStart[3] = 0xdf;
Could this be what you need? Also: base58Prefixes[PUBKEY_ADDRESS] = 80; base58Prefixes[SCRIPT_ADDRESS] = 9; base58Prefixes[SECRET_KEY] = 224;
Also see this discussion, it might be relevant: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=214512.0For Zetacoin it looks like the P2Pool values should be: P2P_PREFIX='fab503df'.decode('hex'), ADDRESS_VERSION=80, YOU ARE THE MAN! I would love to speak with you more. Here is the pool address and port: http://204.10.105.89:17335/static/Happy mining! You the man Just got a payout from your pool. You are eligible for the 20K reward. Post your address. I believe someone else offered an additional 20K in the forum.
