1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: 📢🔥[ANN]NEURONEUM - Best In Decentralized Cloud Computing & Crypto-Mining🔥📢 on: February 04, 2019, 10:13:39 PM
Neuroneum model looks amazing. They have what looks like a final solution to cloud computing issues. But I’ll like to know what chances they have to beat the competition.

beating the competition is not the most important thing right now I believe they will have to ensure they make the platform as user-friendly as it can get

I like to think about the competition too. I’ll like to know what advantage Neuroneum got over the competition. It’s a decentralized model that feels more secure and transparent for users. Btw I think Neuroneum has a friendly team.

They have made a comparison of their project to their competitors. You can find it in their whitepaper. Sure, such a comparison is probably biased because it should highlight the advantages of Neuroneum but I think it's still worth a read. The best thing, however, is to make your own comparison with different sources.

In the 'market' section of the WP, Neuroneum mentions that Amazon & Google are the biggest cloud computing providers. However, I could not see any direct usage of the word 'competitor'. As I think we can all agree it would take years and billions of $ for Neuroneum to get to this level. Could anyone point out if there are any other mentions of similar companies? doc: https://neuroneum.io/pdf/neuroneum_whitepaper.pdf

The token sale live counter is still on $1.1m. Is it being updated manually or automatically? If the live counter updates itself automatically then this is a little bit worrying as nothing has been raised in over a month. Maybe even longer.

I am not sure but I don't think it is still going? I think it has finished? Usually if collection of funds is done in multiple currencies it would take time to update.

They are in the private sale stage. The main sale will start in May. That's why it would be interesting to get an update from the team. I wonder if there has been any new investments.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's the *easiest* profitable betting strategy? on: February 04, 2019, 10:00:49 PM
Arbitrage might be the easiest in a sense as you can see the returns that are available to you. The only thing is the margins can be tiny sometimes and you need to execute the bets quickly to maximise profits. Also, betting companies pick up on this rather quickly and they can ban you if they spot suspicious activity on your account.

Yes, that's a good point - the fact that you can quantify your edge (almost 'visualize' your profit) can help to make this profit strategy very transparent for the user.. which might make it 'easier' for many. But it has never been an option that has been interesting for me personally. I really like the 'romantic' idea of getting an edge using my better understanding of markets or sports.

I would like to suggest profit strategy #4: Trading on betting exchanges
This is when you make a bet in the expectation that the price will move and allow you to make the opposite bet ("lay" bet) at a good price. These two opposite bets, if made at the correct prices, lock in a risk-free profit, regardless of end result. It is easiest to do this on a betting exchange like Betfair where you can back and lay. But you *can* also do it on a sportsbook, most easily in markets where there are only two results possible. But really you need a proper betting exchange.

Anyway, it is a bit like day trading on stock markets - you are betting on the market movement, not the underlying fundamental. Not easy though!

This is a good link to explain more, on Betfair's own website:
https://betting.betfair.com/betfair-announcements/betting-apps/exchange-trading-for-beginners-290116-710.html

With the help of welcome offers (free bets) on different betting websites, combined with the 'lay' option (shorting) on the Betfair exchange, some users can make a lot of money. There are quite a few services you can use that find the best odds to make the greatest returns.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The VAR - Video Assistant Referee Discussion Thread on: February 03, 2019, 02:12:04 PM
I like VAR and it actually adds an extra element of suspense to the game. The only problem is there are always going to be teething problems. So many issues in football are down to the opinion of the ref and it really depends on which one you get.

I thought the Wales vs France game was good, but wow, the England vs Ireland game yesterday was incredible. Both teams were fully up for it and it was a great battle on the pitch. That has got to be one of the biggest shock results in recent times.

Fresh news are about Naymar who will not play in coming games because of injury

PSG announced today he'll be out for 10 weeks. He won't get surgery to his foot.

That's a bad news for them, and Manchester United will fancy their chances of qualifying, PSG still do have players than can cause Man Utd big problems if they are fit for the fixtures.

Manchester United shows great performance in its latest game but I think that PSG will have an easy game against them even without Neymar. He is a great player and he contributes a lot to the game but Mbappe is one of a kind player (in my opinion the best center forward right now) and he can destroy Man Utd's defense in both 1st and 2nd leg.

I think if PSG had Neymar fit and Man Utd still had Mourinho in charge then they would progress easily to the next round. But now that United have some form and PSG have some key players missing, I think it's going to be a lot closer than you think.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know if a gambling site is scam or not? on: February 03, 2019, 01:55:53 PM
I wonder how you do your research if a gambling site is scam or not?

You need to use you common sense.
Never play with more than you can afford to lose.
And be very very suspicious on every "too good to be true" promotion.

This is the best advice in my opinion. No beating around the bush and to the point. Lots of companies use welcome offers to entice new customers. Just double check the website if their offer sounds too good to be true. For example, search for reviews of the website on google, run the name of the company through Twitter/Facebook. Try and find out as much as possible before depositing your hard earned money on a potential scam website!

It's still so early in the year anything can happen i'd be surprised if the market stays depressed for a full 2 years, we're seeing some solid resistences but it might fall further but it seems most of the big names are still bullish longterm and new projects just need to hold to their plans

I am bullish but at the same time trying to limit the risk in my portfolio at the moment, they are too many shit coins around at the moment and we need the market to keep falling to keep pushing them out.

Saying this, I do still believe this market is an excellent place for new ideas and tech to be developed, I think the Neuroneum project falls into that category! They just need to work harder on their promotion and start revealing their progress.

Oh i know honestly what kicks me is theirs some good projects among the shitcoins and even mainstream coins that if i had been a little less lazy i could have easily tripled my money the last 2 years, but i dont have faith in myself i guess, but i kick myself when in the morning i say "ya eth is definitely going to go up today" then check my watch and sure enough it was bottomed out.

New projects like neuroneum offer a lot of opportunity if things progress as we expect a company like this to but i think theirs a lot of mixed sentiment in the market overall

ETH is a painful one to watch fall as it is my biggest holding in cryptocurrency. I really think it's being oversold at the moment like a few other tokens. Hopefully, after the Constantinople upgrade, we might see ETH rise in value and a few altcoins linked to it might increase too. You never really know, as it seems traders don't even react to this type of thing nowadays.

Your not wrong i sometimes really like when groups geet some graphic/marketing groups to do a very visual whitepaper to explain things visually it seems to help grab peoples attention maybe the team will consider something like that in the future

Me too, I would say the Neuroneum WP isn't too difficult to get through but it could definitely be improved. Maybe later on in their journey, they could update their WP and work on making it more engaging for their potential investors.

I honestly prefer AMA's over even things like whitepapers i just find them to answer directly a lot more of the questions that actually matter while papers tend to have a lot of stuff that i could case less about, while ama's allow people to target the things that matter to the investors

Yes project's whitepapers are very technical and sometimes contain too much information for the average Joe (myself included) AMAs get to the point and it is useful for community members to find out information about their favourite projects. Neuroneum should think about running one soon.

HA at least i'm not the only one that feels that way, i've glazed over a few times when trying to get through some projects whitepapers and especially some of the more eastern white papers that have some language issues, so getting straight to the point from the horses mouth is so much better.

Especially after a long day at work, it's hard to focus on a WP. I agree WPs posted by teams from Asia invariably have a lot of grammar erros or use a lot of technical jargon that doesn't always necessarily make grammatical sense.

I wish teams put more time into publishing an in-depth FAQ section. That is the easiest way for me to intake information. Or a blog article series, or even a video or infographic. I think there a lot of better ways that a project can share their ideas!

LOL ya it's funny January is over already i can't believe how quick 2019 is moving sadly the overall market hasn't bounced as much as everyone had been hoping in fact its still slumping and lackluster, but hopefully some strong projects will emerge this year to really show us some realistic growth in the industry

It has been extremely lacklustre, a very disappointing 2019 so far for crypto markets. Sort of makes you think is there any way back for cryptocurrency and blockchain projects at this point.

I'd do anything for a full month of positive the sideways momentum of the entire market is the most annoying thing, if we can see btc over 5k and eth over 200 it would be a great time for  the industry again but no instead we get this sideways up and down movements that drive everyone nuts

I would be very happy with those two targets, I just don't know what's going to happen this year. It really seems like the wheels have fallen off the cart and momentum has seriously dropped off. Hope we get a bull run soon.

Glad to see they are still doing it i was following a few other projects that gave up after the first week or 2 because i guess they didnt have enough traffic but the fact is a lot of people find projects later and like to have a way to go back and see what they have accomplished in the past x weeks

A lot of projects dropped off in 2018. I think it's a testament to the team's hard working attitude and strong development progress. They are still relevant and more popular than ever. A few creative marketing programs has also helped. I think COVA has a bright future. I will definitely be keeping an eye on them.

Well to be a hundred percent honenst i've seen other projects say they will do the card but have run into issue i'll be interested to see the details and partners that sign the deal for the cards to see how it runs through, its something that needs to happen but in 2017-2018 became harder to implement in the networks

yeah, let us hope they succeed because their success will in a way bring more users to crypto space which is what we need right now

This is very true, markets are down and we need some good news. I know in the grand scheme of things this project seems rather unimportant. However, even if they can convert a few hundred or thousand people into regularly using crypto and increasing adoption, then I would see that as a success!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Neuroneum - Advance Cloud Computing and Crypto Mining Technology on: January 27, 2019, 11:57:44 PM
AMAs are useful for potential investors because they can find out some answers to important questions that the team might not have covered yet. I think Neuroneum should follow this model.

Well ya its definitely one of the most popular ways i think its the fact it gives the followers a chance to get some things "on paper" from the team that they've been wondering almost everyones got their own silly or not silly questions they want to know to figure out the inner works of what is going on in the teams minds.

Yeah, when a project finally confirms a detail about a project in writing it gives confidence to its investors and supporters. Like you said it could seem like a silly question but I don't think people should be put off by this.

I wonder how the team thinks their developer adoption is doing, i've seen some solid mentions on twitter and other social media about the dapps and performance, that its good that the team is finally getting some acknowledgment from developers

Yeah man, they are searching for the next big DApp, I think it's great that COVA want to promote development and their incentives through their developer fund will help build innovative applications.
